not a good night

you might wonder what i'm doing awake at this hour... i decided to take out my anger on some typing. so, let me go ahead and apologize to the editors for the inevitable fuck ups that are most likely involved.

the New York Rangers blew a 2 goal lead and lost 3-2 in OT. i'm really hoping this doesn't come back to haunt them.

the Yankees blew a 4 run lead and lost 7-4. midway through the game it was announced that Don Zimmer died. that made the post game like a wake.

needless to say, my evening kept going from bad to worse.

i sent out 21 poems over the course of the last 2 hours... 2 to BoySlut. 3 each to Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon, and Fuck Art, Let's Dance. and 5 each to Regardless of Authority and Zygote in My Coffee. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

the Yankees play later today, in the afternoon. Tanaka is pitching, so they might actually have a chance to win. i'll be back on here after that.

now i'm off to try to get some sleep and not toss and turn and wonder what if...

with the creative juices flowing...

let me get the poetry shit out of the way to begin with. i sent out 16 poems this morning, 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon; 5 each to BoySlut and Regardless Of Authority. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

also, got an email from my friend in Sweden, the artist Janne Karlsson. it appears there might be a good chance that the project we did together may see the light of day in 2014. as of right now, it looks like Epic Rites is the lucky winner to publish it. of course, as a veteran of this world, i know nothing is concrete until you are holding it in your hands. so, i am happy but my fingers are still crossed like a motherfucker. also, Janne was kind enough to send me some pics of my poem "when insanity meets the evening news" in the October edition of the magazine Klar (Norway). below are the pictures:

the Dayton Flyers won last night 70-56. sadly, they once again played like shit, playing down to their competition until a 16-2 run ended the game. if they don't figure out how to play to their potential quickly, they are going to get embarrassed soon. probably on this coming Saturday against a team they should easily beat.

i did make it home in time to watch American Horror Story. another great episode. and the preview for next week looks really damn good.

the weather has warmed up here nicely. up to the upper 40's today. but, since it is Ohio, it appears like it will be 70 by the weekend with a chance of some crazy shit happening. i figure the winds will be crazy on Sunday as that is the day i put the trash out.

other than The Big Bang Theory and probably a decent portion of the NFL game tonight, i have no clue what i'll be watching this evening. most likely some sports or something on Discovery or Food Network.

the wines i ordered the other day should be arriving later today. i have to sign for them and not let my imagination run wild with my porn fantasies of female delivery drivers. my luck, it will be a guy that looks like me. somewhere Freud is smiling.

that's all for me. i suppose i should go eat some lunch and listen to some more music while i'm waiting. i do hope this finds everyone well. and hopefully drunk.

i guess the summer heat wants another victim

i went out to get the mail today and was like holy fuck. it had to be damn near 90 at noon. totally was not expecting that. of course, when you spend all weekend watching sports and no news, these types of things are a surprise.

the Yankees won yesterday. i cheated and flipped over a few times during a rare blah moment on the Red Zone channel. when i saw they were bringing in Mo to get 6 outs, i just shook my head. the lack of great pitching right now is what is really killing this team. and then i flipped over right after the Yankees scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th. i believe it was the first time they had won on a wild pitch since 1977.  a big 4-3 win to avoid the sweep. they play tonight in Baltimore. i imagine i will flip over during commercials. just about all of the games for the rest of the season are MUST WIN games.

i did pretty good in fantasy football yesterday. in one league i am up by 33 points. i have 2 guys going tonight and my opponent has 4. if i hold on to that lead, i will be surprised. in the other league i am trailing by 10 points. but i have 3 players going tonight and my opponent is done. i feel pretty confident that i will win that one.

my mom is happy her Jets won while i do hope my sister is getting ready for a long year for her Steelers.

as for the Sunday night shows, i did not watch one second of Big Brother. i did watch the women's tennis final that pushed everything back nearly 50 minutes or so. i never get bored of watching Serena Williams in tight clothing.

Boardwalk Empire was great last night. i have always liked the show. i'm a bit of a history whore.

The Newsroom was awesome as usual. i always wonder how close the chaos really is to the reality of a newsroom on election night. it should be a great season finale next week with how this episode set it up.

Ray Donovan was interesting. a nice little twist that i didn't see coming. the kid being left on the bed was classic. i'm not really sure where the final 2 episodes are going.

Total Divas was the unintentionally funny train wreck that it normally is. after watching these many episodes i truly know that i have been watching wrestling too long to actually "buy" any of this. though, the health stuff truly interests me as the WWE has done a great job in the last few years of letting the fans into the "real" injuries that do happen.

tonight should be an interesting one for me. 2 football games, Monday Night Raw, some baseball and god knows what else all on at the same time. lets just say after my shower here in a bit, i guess i'll be spending the rest of the night in my easy chair.

lastly, i did manage to break out some poetry today. this morning i went through some unpublished poems. this afternoon, i sent 11 out. 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon and 5 to Regardless Of Authority. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

that is all. i need to go get the vacuum and get some cleaning done before i shower. hope this finds everyone well.

a change in plans

so after the Yankees lost today (first blown save at home for Mo in 3 seasons almost) i hopped in the shower. and of course, i managed to tweak my back while in the shower. talk about fun.

so, i decided since i can't do much more than sit at the moment, i would just type up and send out the poems now. so, i sent out 16 poems today, 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon, and 5 each to BoySlut and Regardless of Authority. when i hear back from these places i'll pass along the news here on the blog.

i was very happy to see Andy Murray win Wimbledon. being a bit Scottish myself, i was very proud to see it finally happen. not often you see a 3 set match that goes longer than 3 hours. the few final points were especially grueling.

not sure if i'm going to watch Big Brother tonight or not. i may try to get some light stretching in to see if it helps my back. besides, since i follow all the online sites, i already know what's going to happen for the next 2 shows.

i do plan on watching Ray Donovan though as everyone i've seen talking about it has been raving about tonight's episode. i'll take the bait as i really liked the first episode.

that is all. until tomorrow (hopefully)

oh yeah, the sun came back out today. figures i would be spending most of the day in a chair.
