waking up with an elephant on my back...

it was supposed to be raining by now. instead, my back only thinks it is raining. nothing quite like waking up and your lower back feels like it is stuck in cement. joy.

i am still planning on going to the basketball game today. hopefully, that will happen.

NJPW was really good last night.

WOW was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

2 Dope Queens was fucking great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the New York Rangers play today at home against New Jersey. i believe the Rangers have scratched the players they are planning on trading by Monday. that's probably for the best as they do need to continue the rebuild.

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Saint Louis. i'd love to see Dayton win and get a little revenge for Saint Louis destroying them a few weeks ago. Obi Toppin is one dunk away from equaling the season record for Dayton.

the New York Yankees play their first spring training game today against Boston. hard to believe it's time for baseball again.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays.

i know right after that the Rangers will be playing in Washington against the Capitals, so the blog will be a mid-afternoon one most likely.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i should have just stayed in bed

Manchester United lost this morning 3-1 to West Ham. i should have just stayed in fucking bed. what a listless performance.

the New York Yankees won last night in Boston, 11-6. that means the wild card game against Oakland will be in the Bronx. the Yankees also tied the all time home run record for a team. they have 2 games to break that record. hopefully, they will do that this afternoon.

VICE was excellent last night. i urge everyone to check out the episode if you can. here is a link to the preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVOhLT569jg&t=13s

NJPW was pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

Ohio State plays a massive game tonight at Penn State. this is probably an elimination game when it comes to the final four for the playoffs. and given how Ohio State has played there before, i will be thrilled if the Buckeyes find a way to win tonight.

i will probably flip between baseball, soccer and college football for most of today. and hopefully, i will get some more sleep.

i will be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play against the New York Giants.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. Manchester United has already made sure mine is going to suck a little at best.

call if you need bail money.

another hot weekend

it looks like both days this weekend are going to be hot ones. thankfully, i think we got most of the running around done last night. the grocery store wasn't bad, just crowded as usual. plus, they were training a new cashier, so that was a fun experience. mom is much more patient than i am.

Euro 2016 Update:
Poland defeated Switzerland this morning on penalty kicks (5-4). that's a huge win for Poland. Wales are currently playing Northern Ireland. later this afternoon, Portugal takes on Croatia.

Copa America Update:
Colombia vs. USA tonight for 3rd place. if the USA wins, it would be their best finish EVER in the Copa America. hopefully the boys seize the opportunity tonight.

NJPW was excellent last night. 2 great hours of wrestling.

VICE was amazing last night. when i saw the segment on fecal transplants, my mind was blown away. and it also showed why the FDA is fucking stupid. i highly recommend that everyone checks the episode out.

the New York Yankees came from behind to win last night 5-3. they fucking own the Twins it seems. they will play again this afternoon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

today is pretty much soccer all day long. between the Euro 2016 action and the USA playing in the Copa America, i will probably try to squeeze in some MLS action as well.

i did watch most of the NHL Draft last night. i was somewhat shocked that Columbus dropped the ball like they did. i get the feeling they are going to regret passing up on the guy they should have took at number 3. the New York Rangers didn't have a pick until the 3rd round. i saw that this morning. i have good faith in who they draft, as the guy that runs their draft is an excellent scout. i'm more interested in why the fuck they haven't traded anyone yet and why the fuck are they knocking on the door of Steven Stamkos. i guess they want even more of a salary cap hell.

that's all for me today. i hope you have a wonderful Saturday. take it easy and then take it again.

i hate how i feel right before it rains

it's almost like a dull ache. like i'm a junkie going through withdrawals, and i don't want to get into the habit of taking pills or alcohol to ease the pain, as i know damn well, i'll be an addict in a matter of days. but now at 40, my process of accepting the pain needs to be tweaked a bit i guess. not sure how i'm going to do that. but, there's plenty of time (i hope) to try and fail at many things before i get it right.

Euro 2016 update:
i really enjoyed Italy vs. Belgium yesterday. you could tell Belgium had all the shiny parts and Italy was the reliable old car that stills get you there and never breaks down. Italy "upset" Belgium 2-0. that's a huge win for Italy. today, i watched Hungary shock Austria 2-0. i can just imagine the drinking going on in Hungary. right now, i'm watching Iceland vs. Portugal. should be interesting to see how CR7 does today.

Copa America update:
Mexico vs. Venezuela last night was very entertaining. Venezuela scored early and for a while, i really thought they were going to get the upset and win the group. but, Mexico got a great goal to get the draw. that gives Mexico the group win and allows them to avoid possibly playing Argentina in the quarterfinals. the games tonight are Chile vs. Panama and Argentina vs. Bolivia.

Monday Night Raw was really hit or miss for me last night. i enjoyed how much Kevin Owens was on there and the build up for AJ Styles vs. John Cena has been really good. i just wish the interaction between Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose would have been better. it's obvious the writers still don't know how to write the best for them yet. hopefully the ppv this Sunday will be awesome.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and Maya & Marty.

the New York Yankees play tonight out in Colorado. hopefully they can get back to winning soon.

i did watch some of the NBA Finals last night. i hope Cleveland understands they have to play like that or better to come back and win the series. Game 6 will be on Thursday.

i've got the trash already done as i didn't want to be in pain while doing it. after the soccer is over this afternoon, i think i'm going to take a long shower and get a good back massage while watching television tonight. and hopefully a victory beer or two will help as well.

hard to believe, but it's been 22 years since one of my greatest days as a sports fan.
i hope to god i get to see that again in my lifetime.

that's all for me. i hope everyone is doing well.

a glimpse into my future

let's start off today with a little poetry update. i did do a little writing late last night. i typed up those 3 poems this morning and i really like them. i held one back for submission later, but the other 2 went out today. i sent out 6 poems today, 3 each to Dead Snakes and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from those places, i will pass along the verdicts. i'm pretty sure those are my last submissions for 2014. hopefully i go out on a high.

well, my mom and sister now own our new house in Brookville. so, it looks like my 17+ years of farm life will be coming to an end soon. it will be a culture shock, that's for sure. we went over to the new house and set up some lights to come on and off at certain times. not that the crime rate is high where we're moving. while we were there, there was a knock at the door. both my mother and sister wanted me to get it, but i decided not to. they both figured it was my uncle, who lives next door. i had a feeling, mostly because i know god hates me, that it wasn't him. sure enough, it was the cousin that molested me. to say that this house is going to be the death of me is not that bold of a claim. i was happy to see that the door on my new bedroom has a lock on it. it will get used. of course, my feet hang off of the bed in there. the woman that lived there must have been shorter than short. it will certainly take some getting used to. i think we'll start moving stuff in after Christmas.

i just really flipped through the channels last night on television. i did try to watch some of The Colbert Report series finale last night. that was great. i know tonight is the final show of Craig Ferguson's run on The Late Late Show. i've really become a fan of the show over the last few years. that should be a weird and great finale as well. also, i will have to watch Letterman tonight to see the final Lone Ranger story and Darlene Love singing Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). i think tonight will be one of those nights i really feel old. i certainly felt old when this video came out the other day:

i suppose most of what else i watch tonight will depend on what my sister wants to watch. i have no sports teams going tonight, so i'll hand over the remote. at least for tonight.

the New York Yankees made a couple of trades today. they got a little younger but lost some versatility. but, that also means that some young guys are going to get a chance to make the team in spring training. i do like the sound of that.

that's all for me today. i will probably be on here tomorrow afternoon, most likely after the Manchester United game.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. get your last minute shopping done. and just in case you don't get to read this blog in the coming days, i do hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas or whatever you fucking celebrate this time of year.

and then the days all start to bleed together...

it started to lightly rain sometime last night. i suppose that would explain why i had a hard time sleeping last night. there's a chance for snow today, though it's not supposed to accumulate. i figure it will start when i'm driving and stop as soon as i turn the car off.

the New York Rangers fell behind early last night but had a great second period. they scored again in the 3rd to go up 3-1. at this point, i was really happy with how they were playing. of course, that wouldn't last. the fucking Penguins scored 2 goals in 24 seconds to tie the game, which eventually went into OT. thankfully, Kevin Klein once again came through in the clutch. after needing 13 or so stitches to reattach part of his ear, he scored the winning goal in OT. that's what i love about hockey players... tough sons of bitches. here are the highlights from the game:

i thought all of the performances on The Voice last night were good. i have no clue who gets voted off tonight. the only locks to advance in my head are Matt (team Adam) and Craig (team Blake). i won't get to see the show tonight as i will be at a basketball game.

i thought Monday Night Raw was pretty good. the show just sort of dragged for me. of course, anytime you end a show with John Cena going through a table, i'll be happy. i didn't agree with all the winners of the Slammy Awards last night, but in terms of wrestling fans, i'm a senior citizen.

i really enjoyed my two victory beers last night. i had the Winter Lager from Sam Adams. first time i have tried this one. i must say, Sam Adams has yet to make a beer that i don't like.

i wasn't surprised the Yankees let their closer leave via free agency. with the reliever they already signed, they basically saved $10 million. now, if they use that money wisely, i'll be fine with this decision. do nothing with it, and i'll be fucking furious. they do get a draft pick for him leaving, but they hardly ever draft anyone that makes an immediate impact.

i'm cutting this one a little short as i have cats to feed and shit around the house to get done. plus, i would imagine the people that sit around me at the basketball games would prefer i take a shower.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight against Bowling Green. this might actually be their toughest game of the season so far. it should be a pretty physical game. i'm hoping i will be enjoying a victory beer when i get home tonight.

thanks again to all 3 of you for allowing me to waste your precious time.

some rain, a masturbation story, some more rain, a little music, poems and some sports...

my back has been killing me all day today. this persistent drizzle is the fucking culprit. tonight is when the heavy shit is supposed to start. that won't be fun at all.

i wrote 3 poems today, all after i shot my load nearly 3/4 of the way up my chest. i guess i needed a release. as for the poems, the first one may be a fucking classic. only time will tell. the other 2 are solid. i'm planning on sending some more out next week.

i spent the morning on NoiseTrade again. found a couple old albums i downloaded for FREE. i'll post the links below.

i did pretty good in fantasy football last night. i picked the game right as well.

i watched mostly sports last night, bouncing from game to game. i decided to take a nap instead of watching a lot of Peter Pan. that worked out pretty good for me.

i'm looking forward to Sonic Highways tonight. it's the series finale, so it should be good.

the New York Yankees finally woke up and did something this offseason. they traded for a shortstop and signed the best reliever not named David Robertson on the market. i do like the addition of Andrew Miller. he should fit in the bullpen very nicely, especially if they bring back DRob, as they should. $9 million a season is a little steep, but, it's not my money, so i don't care. as for DiDi Gregorius, he has the impossible task of replacing Derek Jeter. i like the kid, watched him play minor league baseball in Dayton. hopefully he plays great defense and simply hits just enough. if the old fucks in the lineup do their jobs, DiDi will not be a problem. if they are relying on him for his bat, the Yankees will be mediocre like last season.

this is going to be a short one today as i need to get started on dinner. i'll be on here in the morning tomorrow as my afternoon will be another clusterfuck of sports.

i hope everyone has a great Friday night and a wonderful weekend. remember, only fuck the ones that cough and never shit in your own yard.

RE2PECT

it takes a night like last night to remind me why i loved baseball as a child and why i love being a fan of the New York Yankees even more. there is no soul on earth who could have scripted last night and not be laughed at in every inner circle jerk in Hollywood. Derek Jeter's final home game will be remembered by every Yankee fan for the rest of their lives. the big hit in the first inning. the constant chants. the horrific blown save that set up one of the most dramatic moments in a meaningless game in baseball history. and yes, i was in tears by the end of it.
easily, the best win of the season. they play again tonight in Boston. i couldn't give a shit if Jeter plays or if they win. last night will be what everyone remembers.

needless to say, since god is obviously a Yankees fan
(photo courtesy of Judy G. on Google+)

and there was no rain after every forecast on earth said there would be, i didn't watch any other sports last night. i was a little surprised with the blowout in the NFL. i didn't see that coming at all. thankfully, neither of my opponents this week had any New York Giants on their fantasy teams.

today has been a pretty long day for me. got my blood drawn at the doctor's office. i'll find out early next week if anything is going on with it. i also got a flu shot. i figured since i'm going to be around more people with having the hockey season tickets, i better be the responsible adult for once in my life. after all that, nothing quite like eating cheeseburgers before noon since you haven't eaten anything in over 12 hours. mom had another doctor's appointment to go to, so guess where i ended up going. at least the chairs in the waiting room were somewhat comfortable.

when we got home, the cats were giving me that WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN look. i laughed and took my time getting their food and water ready. after feeding them, i got some money together and went to the bank to make a deposit. always fun trying to get there while trying to avoid school bus routes. the lady that took my deposit did make me laugh. she wanted to let me know that i have qualified for a new Chase credit card. i bet i have. i haven't had a paying job in 12 years. sure, why wouldn't i get another credit card.

tonight will be a little baseball and then The Knick on Cinemax. i finally fucking remembered it. hopefully it is a great episode.

i'll most likely be on here tomorrow after the Manchester United game. i would say earlier but tomorrow is derby day in the Premier League and my ass will be glued to the television. of course, if i do what i did today and get up way before the sun does... fuck it, i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. not like anyone is waiting with baited breath...

a thank you to the nurse who took my blood today. it was obvious you were flirting with me, asking about my hair color. i figured i did good when i told her she didn't need any for hers when she complained about her grays coming in. i'm curious to see where the sex dream goes tonight. she did tie me off and put a needle in me, so i'm guessing there is going to be some pain involved.

that's all for me today. hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

elimination and nostalgia

i was driving home from the bar yesterday when the Yankees were finally eliminated from having any chance to make the playoffs this season. sadly, i was not surprised but i was happy in some sick sense. perhaps now the team will make some changes; philosophy, players, management, SOMETHING... i can only imagine what would happen if The Boss was still running the show. now, the last 4 games of this season will be about Derek Jeter, not that the previous 158 weren't all about him. if they actually get the game in tonight, it will be somewhat surreal to know that this is the final home game of his career. a big thank you to the Captain for a great 20 years. there will be plenty of moments to remember for the rest of my life.

i had a good time yesterday at the sports bar catching up with Paul, my best friend from high school. it definitely brought back the memories. he's coming over to the farm this weekend for the Ohio State game.

the Yankees lost 9-5 yesterday by the way. Jeter went 0-4. i have to think he's not going to do that again tonight. of course, it would be the 2014 Yankees if he did.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. the look of shock on the faces when they found out Derrick is a cop was priceless. i enjoyed it even more when Frankie didn't win America's Favorite Player. the look on that asshole's face will have me laughing for months. i wonder how long until Cody realizes he made a $450,000 mistake by not blindsiding Derrick in the end. i saw that the show got renewed for another 2 seasons. guess i'll be enjoying this guilty pleasure when i'm 40.

The Bridge was great last night. i absolutely can't wait for the season finale next week for two reasons. one, it looks like it is going to be an edge of your seat season finale. and two, it means American Horror Story is one week away.

i'll be making a trip to the grocery store this afternoon to hopefully pick up my pills and get some supplies for this weekend (beer, chips, etc.). plus, i do believe we need some shit for the animals out here. thankfully, i think Tractor Supply is having a sale.

tonight starts the NFL week with a game i couldn't give two shits about. i probably won't watch much of it as there are some good college games on as well. this is assuming that the Yankees game is going to be in a rain delay for god knows how long.

i saw on tv this morning that it is National One Hit Wonder Day. that certainly brought back nearly all the music i listened to in the 80's to mind. let alone the drivel in the 90's that falls under that. here is probably my favorite one hit wonder of all time:

that's pretty much it for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the doctor's and getting my blood drawn. that's always fun.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the long summer nights

when i woke up at 10 this morning, nearly 3 hours later than i usually do, i wasn't more refreshed or energetic. it was sort of like that groggy feeling when you get too much sleep. i was up pretty late fucking around with trying some charcoal art. no luck there but i think i may have come up with a logo for this blog. one of these days i'll actually post it on here and see what everyone thinks. i like it, so the important part is covered.

when i heard the LeBron news yesterday, i was a little surprised. when i read his essay on si.com about returning, it really hit home. here is a link to it:
http://www.si.com/nba/2014/07/11/lebron-james-cleveland-cavaliers

as an Ohio kid that played basketball in this state, it really hit home. now, i got nowhere near to the level LeBron has reached, but still. i get what it is to be from this state, to be tied to it, to know the hardship and the level of despair that destroys each damn day. as one asshole on tv put it, this was a letter to other Ohioans. he was right. so, as much as i loved the heel turn LeBron took 4 years ago, i suppose it is time to fly the old colors again and go back to being a babyface. now, if he does end up bringing Cleveland a title for the first time in over half a century, he'll do more than just be a king. he will have stepped into the deity level of sports. as for that, i'll believe it when i see it.

another piece of my childhood is dead. http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/07/r-i-p-tommy-ramone-drummer-of-the-ramones/

the Yankees got out to yet another lead last night. and once again, were incapable of making it bigger. and once again, blew that lead. and once again, lost in extra innings, 3-2. it's a tough pill to swallow when you see guys that shouldn't be even in the majors shutting down guys making millions of dollars. they play again this afternoon. i'm going to do my best to avoid it.

mostly because it is on at the same time as the World Cup 3rd place game between Netherlands and Brazil. i really hope both teams just say fuck it and put on an offensive display for the ages. that would be fun to watch.

also tonight, i'll hopefully be up late enough to watch another episode of ROH.

i guess i should get out to feed the cats before they get too pissed that it's later than normal. it's bad enough that they treat the entire fucking farm as their litter box.

maybe if i get a wild hair up my ass, i'll take some more photos outside. if i do that, i'll be sure to get the possible new logo for this blog as well.

hope this finds everyone well. remember to pour one for Tommy Ramone.

be well. be creative. be generous and send me some money. be thoughtful and buy a book. be excited about life and go fuck someone, with their permission of course.

the start of another week

today has been a cloudy and gloomy mess. doesn't exactly give me a great feeling for tonight.

mom decided to do some car pooling today so she drove me to the bank. i didn't mind, as i'm low on gas anyway. made my deposit without any drama this time. i believe the teller had to be new as she was way too nice. my mom's bank is a long ass drive from mine, so there was plenty of music listening and commenting on how bad this area has got since our childhoods. after that, drove back to town to get the mail and some lunch. got some great fanzines in the mail from my friend in Sweden, Janne Karlsson. check out his site
http://www.svenskapache.se/.

i did write one poem yesterday. i got a line stuck in my head in the afternoon and by 10 pm, the words were flowing. i'm proud that i was able to multi-task as i was watching Penny Dreadful at the time. typed the poem up this afternoon and i like it. i suppose i'll find out how good it is when i send it out.

the shows last night were excellent. Nurse Jackie was good and ended with a little mystery. Californication was great once again. Penny Dreadful blew me away last night. it filled in plenty of the back story and some questions about the main characters. just pure fucking brilliant. Veep was hilarious. two excellent episodes to end the season. and Last Week Tonight was great. the piece on the World Cup and FIFA was fucking brilliant.

tonight will be a crazy night of television. all starting at the same time will be the New York Rangers MUST WIN Game 3 at home; the Yankees game in Kansas City, and Monday Night Raw. talk about a night i need the Elvis wall of televisions. needless to say hockey will get most of my attention for the evening.

and at some point i need to figure out how to squeeze in a new episode of Louie as well.

the Yankees were horrific yesterday, going 1 for 17 with runners in scoring position. they lost 2-1. totally pissed away a great outing from Kuroda. i doubt they will win tonight to split the series.

i expect MSG to be crazy tonight. and the first time the refs fuck up, the place will probably explode. i'm really hoping the Rangers win tonight as i don't want to wait another 20 years for a chance to win the Stanley Cup.

i found 3 more kittens today. i have no fucking clue who the mother is as these 3 were sitting outside, all balled up. i'm going to go back out there before dark and hopefully figure out who they belong to. i think they may be Cookie's but that is simply a guess.

had another weird day on iTunes. my brain continues to amaze me.

that's all for today. hope the case of the fucking Mondays eluded you today. i'll be on here tomorrow, probably in the afternoon. hopefully with that taste of a victory beer on my lips.

be well my enemies. peace...

why can't the weather be like this all the time

hardly a cloud in the sky, in the low 70's with hardly any humidity. for a fat ass that likes to sit and watch television with the windows open, today has been a slice of heaven.

lots to get to, so away we go.

the Yankees finally got some runs last night and were on the verge of winning until DRob makes a horrible mistake pitch to Adam Dunn. sadly, 10 seconds before this happens i mention to my mother that he needs to careful to Dunn because a mistake will cost them the game. sure enough. but, the Yankees came back today in a game where they were comatose for 8 innings, to force extra innings while down 3 runs in the 9th (and down to their final out) and win it in the 10th 4-3 on a HR from Jacoby Ellsbury. first Yankees win in the south side of Chicago since 2011. and finally, my first victory beer in days.

i did get to watch ROH this afternoon so i won't have to try to stay up tonight to see it. another great episode.

i watched the playoff final to see what team would be in the Premier League next season. a stunning goal from a 10 man QPR in the final minute to win the game 1-0. hats off to them for playing down a man for nearly 35 minutes and still finding a way to win the game.

i also watched the Champions League final today as well. hopefully everyone saw it and understands why you should never try to sit on a lead. Real Madrid scores late to force extra time and then blows it wide open in the final 15 minutes of extra time to win 4-1. i'm happy for CR7 to win another title and to win one in his home country.

not a bad day of soccer at all.

as for tonight, i'll be flipping between some playoff hockey and playoff basketball. i also need to look at this website that i was asked to submit some poems for. i saw some of the names on it so far and i definitely believe i will try to come up with something for it.

thanks to everyone for the responses to my poems on Horror Sleaze Trash. i really appreciate it.

i saw a rabbit, 2 toads, and a snake while i was mowing yesterday. good to see the zoo is still going strong out here. i also believe that my cat Whitey actually had 4 kittens and not the 3 i thought she had earlier this month. these fuckers look like they are going to be monsters as well.

it was perfect yesterday for mowing. not even 70 degrees and a light breeze. i didn't get a sunburn and haven't got sick yet (knock on wood).

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime during all the car races. and it will be before the Sunday night festivities of a Rangers MUST WIN Game 4 and the shows i love on Showtime. plus, i want to see the movie on HBO as well. as always, who needs sleep.

a few new songs in the music section below. was up to 2:30 in the morning seeing how depressed i could get on iTunes. that should give it away i suppose. hope this finds everyone well. until tomorrow my enemies...

just how i wanted to start my holiday weekend

in case you don't know me, i hate fucking losing. hate it with a passion that most people believe is psychotic. so, last night was one tough pill to swallow.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night, 3-2. i was thrilled when they scored late to force overtime, given that they had been outplayed for nearly 40 straight minutes. but, 72 seconds into OT, the game was over. i was very pissed at how many times the Rangers refused to make the simple play. the KISS theory (keep it simple stupid) works amazingly well in the playoffs. of course, it wouldn't be a playoff game this year without some HORRIFIC officiating. and i'm talking about shit that refs in the minor leagues don't miss. the Rangers are still up 2-1 in the series, but Game 4 is a MUST win to regain all the momentum in the series. sadly, they don't play again until Sunday, so this loss will fester for way too long.

the New York Yankees lost 3-2 last night in a game where they were manhandled by the White Sox for most of it. 3 damn hits for the entire game. i was a little amazed that they actually had a chance to win the game late. the White Sox starter owns the Yankees in his career, so i wasn't very surprised. hopefully they can win tonight.

so, i had a night of some shitty sleeping in great sleeping weather. i got up this morning to get all the shit done i needed to do today so i could get the grass mowed and over with so i might actually have a chance of enjoying my evening. so i go down to get the paper and for the second straight day, it wasn't where it was supposed to be. we have a tube for it with the paper's name on it, so you would think any dumb fuck would think to put it there. at least yesterday it was in plastic. today, it wasn't. and the wind tends to fucking blow out here in the sticks. and, i wasn't about to walk over planted fields to get the parts of the paper that had blown across the road. people get shot for shit like that out here. we're supposed to have another one brought out here, which i will believe it when i see it.

as you might imagine, my frustration level at this point is through the fucking roof. now i get to go out and mow the grass with this thick ass playoff beard on me that will only make me hotter and more pissed. can't wait to count the number of insects that get caught in it while i'm flying around like a madman in about 30 minutes. good times.

not sure what i'm going to watch tonight. probably some baseball. if my anger hasn't gone down, there might be some writing or painting in my future. i do like how my anger often leads to creativity. i suppose that's better than the alternative, murdering the world.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. chances are it will be after the Champions League final.

hope everyone has a great weekend. hope everyone enjoys the holiday and has some fun. i'm off to go get a sunburn and scare the shit out of some cats.

the calm before the storm

today has been damn near perfect. mid 70's with just a little breeze and not much humidity. the kind of day you open the windows, turn on a ceiling fan and go to sleep for a few hours. which is exactly what i did.

i did manage to type up the 3 poems last night, before midnight. i really like these 3. i'll probably be working up another batch to send out before the end of the month.

the New York Rangers play Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight. if they can win tonight, they will take complete control of the series. and it would also put them 1 win from the Stanley Cup finals. i've kind of got that good anxiety in my stomach at the moment. i will be in full throat and i am completely rested for the game.

i guess at some point tonight i will flip over and see what the Yankees are doing against the White Sox. their best pitcher came off the disabled list for the start tonight. hopefully he is rusty. if he isn't, the way the Yankees are hitting at the moment, this game could get ugly. and fast.

all in all, i just want to be drinking 2 victory beers before i go to bed tonight.

chances are i will be mowing the grass tomorrow, as long as the weather and my health all cooperate with each other. i'm sure mom would like it done for the holiday weekend.

that's pretty much it for me today. got some new songs i found on iTunes that some of you might notice down in the music section. my tastes are getting more varied, which is truly fucking bizarre.

if i am mowing grass tomorrow, i will be on here before i go out to sweat my ass off. hope this finds everyone well. until we meet again my friends...

when storm clouds don't bring any rain

today has been one long fuck me kind of day. it's been threatening to rain just about all damn day. so my back has been feeling oh so great since i woke up. go 10 minutes to the north and they got 4 inches of rain in about 30 minutes. go 10 minutes to the east and they got hail the size of golf balls. and what did we get? not one fucking drop. a little drizzle would have been nice for the crops. fuck me runnin'.

the Yankees lost last night as Tanaka proved he was human. and today, they pulled out a victory from the grips of defeat as they rallied in the 9th and eventually won in the 13th, 4-2. the game took more than 5 hours. at least i got a decent nap in.

i was pleased with who won The Voice last night.

as for the NBA Draft lottery, should be fun to watch the Cavs fuck up the first pick once again.

tonight, as soon as i can get this done, it will be some hockey, a victory beer and something for dinner.

i was planning on doing some typing today as i have 3 poems that need to be typed up. maybe i'll do that later tonight.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'll be in full playoff game mode as Game 3 is tomorrow in the Rangers series. thankfully the Yankees play a night game, so it should be an afternoon blog for me.

that's all for today. be well. be creative. be the fucker that pisses the masses off while opening doors for old ladies.

long live The King

the New York Rangers took a commanding 2-0 series lead over Montreal last night with an outstanding performance from The King, Henrik Lundqvist. stopping 40 of the 41 shots, he absolutely stood on his head. and to think this team is 2 wins away from going to the Stanley Cup finals is mind boggling to me. they play again on Thursday, at home.

i didn't catch much of The Voice last night. i honestly didn't really care. as long as Jake or Josh wins, i'll be happy. if not, i'll seriously wonder how many times did the producers vote to get this shitty outcome.

as for Monday Night Raw, since it was taped last night from London, i read online to see what happened before it aired. that allowed me to watch the hockey game without feeling like i was missing something.

i did catch both episodes of Louie last night. funny and awkward. such a great show.

tonight will be the mix of playoff basketball, the NBA draft lottery, the Yankees playing the Cubs in Chicago, The Voice season finale and some Deadliest Catch as well. Tanaka is pitching for the Yankees tonight, so hopefully his winning streak continues.

the weather has finally warmed back up here. sadly, the humidity did as well. nothing like some uncomfortable sleeping.

i did write a little poem this afternoon. let's just say i had an interesting time watching some porn today. anything for a poem.

that's all for me kids. i want to get a shower in before dinner so i'm out of here. hope everyone had a great day. i'll be on here tomorrow after the Yankees afternoon game. hopefully it's after a win.

where do the hours go

i'm currently running on about 3 hours of sleep. needless to say, i will be a little extra cranky while watching the New York Rangers tonight.

let's go back to yesterday shall we...

the New York Yankees split a doubleheader, winning game 1 and giving away game 2. they won the series and are in first place, so i guess it's ok. they are off tonight and start a series in Chicago tomorrow.

i somehow made it through all the Sunday night shows, even though it took me forever. Total Divas was good, but scripted beyond belief last night. Nurse Jackie was good once again. Californication really had me laughing last night. Penny Dreadful had a HOLY SHIT ending. easily, the best show on tv right now. Last Week Tonight was brilliant. as for Silicon Valley and Veep, i enjoyed both of them. but, i was so damn tired, i have no idea if i was laughing because it was funny or i was delirious.

on to today...

Manchester United officially hired Louis van Gaal as manager today. he takes over once he is done coaching the Netherlands in the World Cup. he is a no non-sense kind of guy, so it will be interesting. Ryan Giggs was appointed his number 2, so that means the end of his playing career. but, hopefully in 3 years he is taking over the club for the next 20 or so. this will certainly make for an interesting silly season with all the rumors.

the New York Rangers play Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight. Montreal announced that their starting goalie is out for the rest of the series. hopefully the Rangers take advantage of this HUGE opportunity. i expect tonight to be a nasty game as i'm sure Montreal will want some revenge for their goalie being injured (on an accidental play mind you). as long as the Rangers win and no one gets injured, i couldn't care what kind of game it is.

also tonight (all at the same time) are The Voice, Monday Night Raw, and Louie. hopefully the hockey ends at a decent time so i get to watch some of the other shows. looks like a night i'll be spending on YouTube.

i happened to do a little writing today. penned 5 poems in a little over 30 minutes today. so, with the one i wrote over the weekend, i typed up 6 poems this afternoon. i think i have a few winners in the batch.

a big thank you to everyone with their comments and reaction to my poem "all the damn yesterdays". i really appreciate it.

after feeding the animals today, i had to spray for insects in the cellar and around the house. that's always fun in a strong ass breeze. thankfully i didn't get any on me.

that's all for today kids. i need to get some dinner and get my mind in the right place for the game tonight. hope everyone had a great weekend. i'll be on here tomorrow sometime.

peace and chicken grease...

with only a few clouds in the sky...

this happens to me so many damn times that i can only laugh at it now. i got a line trapped in my head last night. a line that would make for a pretty damn good poem. so, sure enough, as i'm taking the trash down to the end of the lane in my truck, the poem starts to write itself. and of course, i have no pen or paper on me. so, like the crazy fucker i am, i have to keep repeating it to myself until i get back up to the house to write it down. and as i'm repeating i'm adding more lines to it. so you would think it would be easy to just write it down when i get back up to the house. well, not exactly. i forgot the last few lines of what i came up with so the poem that came out of it is a little different than i thought it was going to be. basically, there's the long version of oh by the way, i happened to write a poem this morning.

i enjoyed the season finale of Saturday Night Live last night. helps that some of the best to be on the show in the last decade came back for it. also, i think i'm going to have to give St. Vincent a closer listen when i get the chance.

i did catch most of ROH last night. another great episode of some great pro wrestling. i'll probably check it out again at noon before the Yankees game.

the Yankees play a true doubleheader today. they have an off day tomorrow, so that's good. hopefully they can win both games and not get anyone injured in the process.

i figure i will also watch some playoff basketball and hockey today as well.

and if i can get a good nap in this afternoon, i figure i will make it through all the Sunday night shows. i've re-watched Penny Dreadful a few times in the last few days. this might be the first series i have been this excited for since Six Feet Under.

hope this finds everyone well. i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow i guess. it's supposed to get warmer tomorrow, so i might end up being outside for awhile. i noticed the buzzards were out last evening. and when i went to feed the cats this morning, there was definitely the smell of death on the other side of the barn. i figure if it gets a little drier tomorrow, i may do some investigating. my best hunch is that something went to go die underneath one of the brush piles we have over there. i do have one cat that is "missing". i haven't seen it in a few weeks.

sorry for that tangent. sometimes when i start to write i just let the thoughts flow. and like most of my drunk elders, they have no sense of direction.

have a great end to the weekend. go get drunk and forget about work tomorrow.

take it easy... and if it's easy, take it again.

so much for the house of horrors

the New York Rangers have played like shit in Montreal for nearly as long as i can remember. the tide started to turn this season and today, like a team that is threatening to do something special this year, they came in and burned the fucker to the ground. they destroyed Montreal in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, 7-2. the power play was working, the skating was great, and holy shit, RICK NASH fucking SCORED a goal for the first time in nearly forever. hopefully they can keep the ball rolling for Game 2 on Monday.

the Yankees broke out the long ball today and won 7-1. that should put them in a good mood for the doubleheader tomorrow.

and yes, both victory beers are gone.

i picked the top 3 of the Preakness correct, just in the wrong order. had the winner right though, that's all that matters.

i figured Arsenal would win the FA Cup. at least Hull City made them work for it. i also caught part of the La Liga final as well. i suppose the Barcelona superiority is officially now a myth.

i'll probably end up watching a little NASCAR tonight, right into the season finale of Saturday Night Live. if i stay awake, i'll hopefully catch the new episode of ROH. if not, i'll hopefully catch it tomorrow at noon.

the rain has held off for most of today and the sun made a rare appearance. now, it just needs to warm up.

i'll most likely be on here tomorrow sometime in the morning. i get the feeling that the doubleheader is going to run right into my Sunday night shows. and hopefully i will be refreshed like i was this morning. not sure why, but it's amazing how i feel when i actually get more than 6 hours of sleep.

hope this finds everyone well.

been a busy boy today

since i chose to sleep last night instead of typing like a bleary eyed asshole at 3 in the morning, i had plenty of typing to do this morning. i managed to get it all done in a few hours. a little faster than i expected actually. i sent out 21 poems today, 6 to ZYX and 3 each to Pyrokinection, Napalm and Novocain, The Camel Saloon, Dead Snakes, and Pink Litter. a big thank you to A.J. for getting back to me so quickly on my submissions to Pyrokinection and Napalm and Novocain. as an old school fucker in this game, i'm still wrapping my head around submitting some work and finding out in a few hours if it was accepted or not. i suppose the days of mailing them out and waiting for weeks are just about over. i still know a few places that still go the old school way. anywho, when i hear back from the other places, i will pass along the verdicts here.

the sun has managed to appear today. briefly. it's still cold as shit for May, but at least it looks bright and warm. of course, i still have the heat on in the house.

the Yankees got much better pitching last night than i was expecting to win 1-0 over the Mets. hard to believe that was the first 1-0 game in the history of the Subway Series. at least the Yankees got a split this year. tonight's game with the Pirates has been rained out already. so, they are going to play a doubleheader on Sunday. should be interesting to see how they set up the pitching for that.

i spent a good portion of last night playing music educator to a friend. she basically only knows certain kinds of music and artists. so i'm going to have some fun exposing her to the VAST range of music i listen to each day.

the season finale of The Big Bang Theory was interesting. should give the writers plenty of room to move around with the characters for next season.

not sure what i'm going to watch tonight other than Game 7 between the Ducks and the Kings. that should be a fun one to watch.

i probably will not be on here tomorrow until after the Rangers game and maybe even after the horse race. tomorrow looks like wall to wall sports that i give a shit about. between the FA Cup, the Eastern Conference Finals in hockey, The Preakness, baseball, etc... i'll have to carve out a few moments for this blog sometime before the sun goes down.

i do hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully your weekend has started early and you're in the process of getting hammered as you read this. or maybe i just gave you a great idea.

until tomorrow, peace and chicken grease...
