it seems the rain keeps missing us now...

now, i love when it doesn't rain because my back usually feels pretty good when that happens. but, when you are trying to grow tomatoes, you need a little rain every now and then. it has been hot and muggy and all the rain seems to be going to our north. good times.

the Yankees lost again to the Red Sox yesterday, 9-2. yet another fucking sweep. fuck me. they start a series tonight back in the Bronx against the Angels.

the Euro 2020 games yesterday were good. Czech Republic defeated Netherlands, 2-0. Belgium defeated Portugal, 1-0. today, Croatia plays Spain and France takes on Switzerland.

at the Copa America, Peru defeated Venezuela, 1-0 and Brazil and Ecuador finished, 1-1. tonight. Bolivia plays Argentina and Uruguay takes on Paraguay.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

The Chi was very good last night.

Black Monday was hilarious last night.

Flatbush Misdemeanors was good last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking great last night.

the season finale of Batwoman was very, very good last night.

one of those days where the pain never goes away

there are mornings where i just wish i could stay in bed and never wake up. and by never, i mean never. just enough rain to get my arthritis raging... a pain that has lasted with me all day. that means the fingers don't work that well. and of course, that's not an option when you have to be someone's caretaker. so today has been one of those days where frustration has me right at the boiling point and i'm going to fucking snap before too long... good times.

the New York Yankees pissed away a winnable game yesterday, 3-2, against Toronto. they are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow against Boston.

i ended up watching more of that Ariana Grande concert from Manchester yesterday than i thought i was going to. i thought it was a pretty good fuck you to the terrorists. go back to the same city and have an even bigger, better show. sort of a middle finger to those ignorant fucks.

WWE Extreme Rules last night was sort of a blah show, up until the ending. i could see the title changes coming a mile away. but, the main event had 5 different guys that could have won. and when Samoa Joe did win, i was so damn happy. that sets up the dream match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar. i can't wait for that to happen.

Silicon Valley was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Twin Peaks: The Return was another glorious mindfuck last night.

I'm Dying Up Here started off a little slow for me but by the end of the episode i definitely wanted to see more.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, If You're Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast and the season finale of Gotham.

i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i might check out some of that, especially if Pittsburgh is losing.

i still have dishes to do today. that will be fun since it hurts to stand at the moment. nothing quite like having your legs feel like they are going to snap from arthritis. i guess sometime before i die i'll get a dishwasher for this house. most likely a machine, not a human.

the "FREE" t-shirt i paid for months ago finally arrived today in the mail. i can't bitch about getting a good fitting shirt for only $1.95. of course, i was smart enough to cancel the membership that would have cost me another $90.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. of course, the sooner humans go extinct, the better all of our weekends will be.

another hot weekend

it looks like both days this weekend are going to be hot ones. thankfully, i think we got most of the running around done last night. the grocery store wasn't bad, just crowded as usual. plus, they were training a new cashier, so that was a fun experience. mom is much more patient than i am.

Euro 2016 Update:
Poland defeated Switzerland this morning on penalty kicks (5-4). that's a huge win for Poland. Wales are currently playing Northern Ireland. later this afternoon, Portugal takes on Croatia.

Copa America Update:
Colombia vs. USA tonight for 3rd place. if the USA wins, it would be their best finish EVER in the Copa America. hopefully the boys seize the opportunity tonight.

NJPW was excellent last night. 2 great hours of wrestling.

VICE was amazing last night. when i saw the segment on fecal transplants, my mind was blown away. and it also showed why the FDA is fucking stupid. i highly recommend that everyone checks the episode out.

the New York Yankees came from behind to win last night 5-3. they fucking own the Twins it seems. they will play again this afternoon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

today is pretty much soccer all day long. between the Euro 2016 action and the USA playing in the Copa America, i will probably try to squeeze in some MLS action as well.

i did watch most of the NHL Draft last night. i was somewhat shocked that Columbus dropped the ball like they did. i get the feeling they are going to regret passing up on the guy they should have took at number 3. the New York Rangers didn't have a pick until the 3rd round. i saw that this morning. i have good faith in who they draft, as the guy that runs their draft is an excellent scout. i'm more interested in why the fuck they haven't traded anyone yet and why the fuck are they knocking on the door of Steven Stamkos. i guess they want even more of a salary cap hell.

that's all for me today. i hope you have a wonderful Saturday. take it easy and then take it again.

the start of a happy weekend

when i woke up this morning, i actually took a shower before i really did anything today. i rarely start the day off like that. i'm more of a shower in the afternoon or 3 in the morning kind of guy. i just wanted to switch it up today and see if anything changed. it sort of worked.

the Dayton Flyers started off on fire today against Richmond. i believe at one point of the first half they were up 27-7. i had to leave at halftime to drive mom down to her physical therapy appointment. Dayton did exactly what i wanted them to do in the second half. keep the game comfortable enough that i wouldn't be stressed while sitting in the waiting room. Dayton coasted to a 69-54 victory. they will play Saint Joe's tomorrow afternoon in the semi-finals of the A10 tournament.

i wrote another 5 poems while in the waiting room today. i typed them up when we got back from a late lunch. i think they are pretty good.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night. Life in Pieces was pretty funny as well. Baskets was hilarious and had an ending that left you saying oh shit. such an excellent show.

i really enjoyed WWE Smackdown last night. i had to pinch myself to believe that i was actually watching what used to be known as Kevin Steen and El Generico on WWE television. i'm so, so fucking happy for those two guys. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will hopefully show the rest of the world just how great of a rivalry they have had over the years. plus, it's looking more likely that Chris Jericho is going to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania. i can live with that.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Treehouse Masters and VICE.

the rain finally stopped here and the sun came back. there was water standing in nearly every yard on our way down to mom's physical therapy appointment. i definitely don't miss those days on the farm. hearing the sump pump run every 2 minutes when we had more than a few hours of rain. we actually drove by the old farm today. as much as i miss the peace and solitude, i certainly don't miss all the work that had to be done out there.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think we're going to try to go to the grocery store in the morning. that way we can get back before Dayton plays in the afternoon. so, if i'm not on here in the morning, i'll be on here sometime after the New York Rangers get done playing against Detroit. the Rangers got some good news today. The King is healthy again and ready to go. and Rick Nash is getting closer to coming back. just in time for the playoff push.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. as always, do what feels good and call if you need bail money.

happy birthday to me

so i started my 40th year on this planet by taking a shit that clogged the toilet. i figured that might be a good sign. i was wrong. so it looks like year 40 is going to be much like the other 39.

i did send out 12 poems today; 3 each to Dead Snakes and Chiron Review. i sent 6 poems to The Stray Branch. when i hear back from these places, i will pass on the verdicts.

i then did my new YouTube video. the first version i published i deleted as i noticed i had a spelling mistake in it. i figured that happened when my mother came in my room and told me about my uncle vomiting all over the place next door and she was rushing over. this is where the asshole in me kicked in. i was going to make sure i got the video done before i did anything. mom called to tell me she forgot her phone just as i was finishing up the corrected version. good times.

the new webcam worked pretty good. i think the more i use it, the more i'm going to like it. and when i know i only spent $6 on it, i figure it will be a good investment.

NXT was really good last night. i was very happy to see Rich Swann and Johnny Gargano both on the show. the matches were very good as well.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces, WWE Smackdown, Baskets and Lip Sync Battle.

i have to take mom to the grocery store. while we're there, i believe i will be going into the liquor store and buying myself a birthday gift.

i think we're also going to go out to eat before then. i wasn't sure if we were as i figured she was going to spend the rest of the day next door. frankly, i'm a little shocked she came back home. but that's another story for when i'm fucking hammered and pissed at the world.

i believe my sister might be coming down for the weekend. hopefully she doesn't bring any snow with her.

thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. i hope this finds you a little drunk and a little naughty.

you turn your head for a moment and all hell breaks loose

first off, why i was up at 8:30 this morning is beyond me. i figured i drank enough and went to bed late enough that i wouldn't get up to around noon. no luck.

my sister's little get together last night was pretty good. i was really happy that she liked what i got her. i think i really blew her mind with the stuff. the place we went was much better than i thought it would be. the band was pretty cool. just a two man band playing a melody of various songs. my sister has known the guy playing the drum/chair for years now. and the reggae guy singing thought my beard was cool, so i have that going for me. the food was really good. service was great. and it was good seeing some folks i haven't seen in years. reliving all the old high school war stories was funny. that all being said, i'm hoping these trips down memory lane are over for some time.

so when i got back home i hopped on the computer to see what i missed. first off, team USA down in Costa Rica. i was hoping for a draw as they have never won there. and sadly, that continues with a 3-1 drubbing. i'm sort of looking at this as a good thing they were humbled. with the winning streak gone, they now can focus on a must win against Mexico on Tuesday. especially since they are no longer in first place in their group for World Cup qualifying.

then, i look up the Yankees game. a 12-8 loss. ok. then i start finding out what happened. blow a 8-3 lead with 9 outs to go. 2 of the better relievers are injured. a complete fucking disaster. (all goes back to the haircut) Tampa lost again but all the teams near the Yankees won. so, now they have to jump 3 teams to get to that playoff spot. not really sure if i'm going to watch today or not. i'm sure i will give it a passing glance. but, fuck me, talk about horrific timing.

i will be watching Ohio State later today. hopefully they are a bit more sharper than last week. and hopefully give me a good victory beer later on.

other than that and some ROH this evening, i figure most of my day will be flipping between college football games. i know 2 teams i hate are playing this evening.

that's all for today. i suppose i should get my day going finally. hope everyone has a great Saturday or at least a better one than your worst enemy does.
