i just got back from getting some prescriptions from Kroger. i finally got mom to start taking her medications again. i think she is a little frightened at just how fragile her mental health is anymore. i chuckled and said you should see it from this side. she hugged me and said i'm sure you can't wait until i die. i told her no, i just know it will happen one day. and it will happen when it is your time. so yeah, another uplifting day here in the house of apathy.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
when you root for teams passionately, sometimes you get to taste ecstasy. but, there is always the flip side to that coin. and today, i got just that. Manchester United wasn't clinical with their chances and what should have been a 0-0 draw at Brighton became a 1-0 Brighton win with a 97th minute handball from Luke Shaw. in the grand scheme of things, this loss may mean nothing. but, let me listen to the pessimist for a second. if United finishes in 5th as they watch Liverpool pass them in the standings, this will be the loss that did it for them. and trust me, if they finish 5th and have no Champions League next season, you can kiss goodbye the chance of any star coming to United. fuck me.
the New York Yankees won last night at home against Cleveland, 4-3 in 10 innings. they are off tonight and start a series at Tampa tomorrow night.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i will be submitting some poems out probably later tonight or early Friday morning.
i have to be up early tomorrow as the Orkin guy is supposed to be here sometime between 8 AM and 10 AM. that should be fun.

i had to take yet another package back to return for mom today. this time i had to take it to the Dollar General in town for FedEx to pick up tomorrow. i told her i'm getting tired of returning shit that she buys and then decides she doesn't want.
at some point tonight, i need to figure out which poems are going where. if i have any luck, i'll actually get my pain to subside for a bit to do that.
i need to go make dinner so that's all for me kids.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
we had a cold front come through with the storms last night, so it feels like winter again here. joy.

so, i was supposed to have a date today. probably my first one in fuck, i'm not sure how many fucking years. and sadly, i'm at that age now where i always have in the back of my head, something is going to happen to fuck this up. and of course, she had to cancel because of an emergency with her friend. i just sort of chuckled when i got the text as i was literally getting ready to head out the door to go to the bank and then pick her up for lunch. so, i have no clue if she is going to call me tonight or not. this isn't how i wanted to start off the holiday weekend, but that is the beauty of life. it never fucking goes how you think it will. so, instead of lunch on a date i went to the bank and made my deposit. after that, i headed to Meijer to get some things we needed. thankfully, they did have everything i was looking for. and i managed to keep it under $100.
the Yankees lost last night in Houston, 2-1. they start a series tonight in Cleveland.
NXT UK was very good last night.

or how i like to call July 1st, happy free agency day. and thankfully, as a New York Rangers fan, i can actually be happy today. the Rangers signed the guy i desperately wanted them to sign, Artemi Panarin. that should be the jolt the offense really needs. and if their #1 pick this year is as good as i think he is, i fully expect the Rangers to make the playoffs this coming season. not bad for deciding to rebuild the team 1 1/2 years ago.
i was pleasantly pleased with what the Sacramento Kings did in free agency. they added some sensible depth to a young club that should be looking to take a leap forward next season.
at the Gold Cup last night, Jamaica defeated Panama 1-0 and the USA survived a listless performance and defeated Curacao 1-0.
so the semi-finals of the Gold Cup will be Haiti vs. Mexico on Tuesday and USA vs. Jamaica on Wednesday.
Sermon on the Mount was really good last night.
Big Brother was pretty good last night.
Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.
City on a Hill was really good last night.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i was in line at the pharmacy for around 30 minutes today. i could hear the older couple behind me talking about this is ridiculous and how they need to find a new pharmacy. there was this child, maybe 3 or 4 years old, running around, going nuts and all the while i was mumbling to myself, if i wasn't this patient, i would kill people. if i wasn't this patient, i would kill people. i fought off every urge to letting the shopping cart roll right into the kid. the funny thing was once i finally got up to the counter, i was there for almost 2 minutes. i got the rest of the shopping done, knowing damn well i hadn't eaten lunch before i went to the store. more on that later. i got everything we needed today and somehow managed to keep it under $80. i might just have a fucking drink tonight for that alone.
i sent out 20 poems today. my arthritis was and still is fucking killing me today, so i wasn't able to copy and paste the poems into emails like normal. i had to retype all 20 poems. joy. i sent 3 poems each to Rusty Truck and The Beatnik Cowboy; 4 poems to The Rye Whiskey Review (already accepted for publication); 5 poems each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Academy Of The Heart And Mind. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
i did watch most of the NHL playoff games last night. i will hopefully catch some of the games tonight.
the Frozen Four was excellent last night. the championship game on Saturday will be Minnesota Duluth vs. UMass.
Better Things was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.
i didn't fall asleep last night until 4 in the morning. it felt like i had a fucking locomotive racing down my spine most of the evening. apparently, i fell asleep right before the storms came. when i got out of bed around 9, it felt like every bone in my body was broken. good times.

buy some weird liquor and just move on. i was thinking about what to get in the liquor store today. i needed some vodka and already had that in hand. i then came across a bottle Karate Cowboy and thought, fuck it, why not. when i start buying liquor i have never had before, you might think i'm expanding my horizons. i'm not. i'm simply planning on the end.
the grocery store was fucking nuts today. i saw one of the most beautiful women i have ever seen in my life today. of course, she had a rock on her finger that could have blinded the fucking sun. i believe she caught me staring. i didn't even get the polite smile and fuck off look from her. between gas, the two grocery stores and the liquor, i probably dropped $250 today. thank god my credit is good.
i wanted to get this blog done way earlier, but as you can see, that didn't happen. my insomnia is now keeping me up until 5 in the morning. i can't go more than 30 minutes without checking my emails and there is another 100 there waiting for me. and when you try to make a little money doing online surveys and shit... i'll be dead before i hit 50. oh well.
the NCAA tournament has been pretty good so far. it's much easier to watch the games when you don't have anything riding on them.
Will & Grace was hilarious last night.
Gotham was fucking great last night. now i have to wait a month for the final two episodes. damn you FOX.
Better Things was really fucking good last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

the high school i went to will be playing for the state championship in basketball tomorrow afternoon. hopefully, they can win their first title.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the morning. at least that's what i am aiming for. if i have another night where i can't fucking sleep until the sun is coming up, i might just decide to drink myself into oblivion and write the blog whenever.
on that sunny note, i hope everyone has a great weekend.

it rained all night and most of today. and joy, there's probably another couple of inches coming. as i told my mother this afternoon, all we are missing in this house are the burnt spoons. it's scary that i think she is starting to get all my heroin references. this has been one of those days of pure fucking misery.
i've spent most of the afternoon talking to women from France. i figure it won't be long until i figure out most of them are Russian bots. good times.
i did do a little poetry work this afternoon as well. i know where my next batch of poems are going. more on that in the next few days.
the Dayton Flyers got whipped last night in Saint Louis, 73-60. Saint Louis had lost 4 games in a row coming into it. i think every Dayton fan knew this game was going to be a fist fight. apparently, the coaches and players didn't. Dayton got punked from the start to the finish. it was so damn bad at some points, i just stopped watching completely.
but i never did switch over to listen to that asshole speak for almost 90 minutes.
Smackdown was really good last night.
205 Live was pretty good last night as well.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer, Drop the Mic and You're The Worst. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Boston. the Rangers made a minor trade today. i'm guessing it will be the first of many.
my bones were aching before i went out to get the mail. when i noticed the really dark cloud as i walked out to the mailbox, i knew i was in for a shitty afternoon. i did my best to get the mail inside next door before it started to pour. and by pour, i mean just fucking dump buckets and buckets of fucking rain. when it really rains like this, both of my legs feel like they are going to snap in two. that should illustrate to you how brutal my arthritis pain is.
for some fucking reason, during the rain i decided to send out some poems. i sent out 13 poems; 2 to Winedrunk Sidewalk, 5 to Synchronized Chaos and 6 to Midnight Lane Boutique. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
the New York Yankees pissed away a lead last night only to have Aaron Judge bail them out again. he hit his major league leading 22nd home run to help the Yankees beat the Angels last night, 5-3. that's the Yankees sixth straight win. hopefully they make it 7 tonight.
The Putin Interviews, Part 1 last night was pretty good. i have always had a fascination with Russia since i was told as a child they were evil. i was never the type of kid to just take what my elders told me and believe it. i had to learn for myself. the Russian people are not evil. the government, like ALL governments, most likely is. and i see how Putin could easily manipulate Trump given their shared hatred for NATO. all in all, i thought it was a good start. hopefully Part 2 tonight will be as good.
Monday Night Raw started off so good last night. the brawl between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar was great. and then the show just sort of did nothing else for the rest of the night. i was hoping that the tag team title rematch was going to save the show, especially since it was 2 out of 3 falls. of course, when you have the final fall be a double count out, there's no way anyone could be happy with that finish.
enjoy some music:

i didn't watch any of the NBA Finals last night. i figured Golden State was going to win. the only thing i didn't like about that was David West getting a title. he will always be a piece of shit from Xavier that i will hate.
i found out today that my aunt, who got her hip replaced the same day as mom, has to go back to the hospital and more or less have the surgery redone. apparently she got an infection. both mom and i really wonder if she will ever make it back to the house next door.
that's all for me today kids. i have trash to pick up and i have to take a fucking shower.

i decided since i was going to the grocery store today, i might as well go to the bank as well. and then i figured, i had to do the trash, i might as well start moving the shit in the garage i have to move since i'm going to be cold anyway.
i spent almost $300 at the grocery store. when mom handed me the scroll, i knew i wasn't going to have anytime to hit the liquor store up. now, most of the money was gift cards and over the counter medicine. it was me and the elderly hunting the scraps basically when it came to the Christmas ham. luckily, i found what i was looking for.
i went next door to get the trash done after i put the groceries away. my cousin's husband said that my uncle will be coming home on Friday. that should be nice, if he actually does get to come home. i know everyone would love to see him home for Christmas.
my sister came down today. she's going to go to the basketball game with me tomorrow and Friday. that should be interesting.
i did watch a good amount of The Wall last night on NBC. i could easily see this become one of those addicting game shows at night. i was rooting for the couple to lose all the money, mostly because i'm an asshole. but, having the first episode show a couple walk away with $1.3 million is a pretty good way to attract viewers.
Monday Night Raw was sort of blah for most of the night. i do love Neville as a heel. and i loved what they did with Braun Strowman at the end. having him destroy Rollins and Reigns was excellent. that sets up a very interesting top of the card on Raw now.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Smackdown, the season finale of Scream Queens and Tony Bennett celebrates 90: The Best is Yet to Come. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight at Pittsburgh. Rick Nash is out injured again. it's somewhat amazing the Rangers are playing as well as they are with so many injuries. tonight will be a stiff test for them.
i'll be on here sometime tomorrow, probably after i get done moving shit in the garage. they are going to insulate the back wall of the garage. i wish i would have known that before i put up all that shit on it. i now have posters to take down and other shit. plus move a few shelves and boxes, filing cabinets, etc. good times.
i hope this finds you well, having your Christmas shopping done and not looking to kill someone in your family.

when i woke up this morning, i actually took a shower before i really did anything today. i rarely start the day off like that. i'm more of a shower in the afternoon or 3 in the morning kind of guy. i just wanted to switch it up today and see if anything changed. it sort of worked.
the Dayton Flyers started off on fire today against Richmond. i believe at one point of the first half they were up 27-7. i had to leave at halftime to drive mom down to her physical therapy appointment. Dayton did exactly what i wanted them to do in the second half. keep the game comfortable enough that i wouldn't be stressed while sitting in the waiting room. Dayton coasted to a 69-54 victory. they will play Saint Joe's tomorrow afternoon in the semi-finals of the A10 tournament.
i wrote another 5 poems while in the waiting room today. i typed them up when we got back from a late lunch. i think they are pretty good.
The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night. Life in Pieces was pretty funny as well. Baskets was hilarious and had an ending that left you saying oh shit. such an excellent show.
i really enjoyed WWE Smackdown last night. i had to pinch myself to believe that i was actually watching what used to be known as Kevin Steen and El Generico on WWE television. i'm so, so fucking happy for those two guys. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will hopefully show the rest of the world just how great of a rivalry they have had over the years. plus, it's looking more likely that Chris Jericho is going to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania. i can live with that.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Treehouse Masters and VICE.
the rain finally stopped here and the sun came back. there was water standing in nearly every yard on our way down to mom's physical therapy appointment. i definitely don't miss those days on the farm. hearing the sump pump run every 2 minutes when we had more than a few hours of rain. we actually drove by the old farm today. as much as i miss the peace and solitude, i certainly don't miss all the work that had to be done out there.
not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think we're going to try to go to the grocery store in the morning. that way we can get back before Dayton plays in the afternoon. so, if i'm not on here in the morning, i'll be on here sometime after the New York Rangers get done playing against Detroit. the Rangers got some good news today. The King is healthy again and ready to go. and Rick Nash is getting closer to coming back. just in time for the playoff push.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. as always, do what feels good and call if you need bail money.
