a cruel sense of humor...

so i wrote in the blog yesterday about how no one said much to me the day before at the First Four. funny how life works. i brought along some gum. i have found that chewing gum tends to keep my mind from wandering into the darkness. at the very least, it slows down the pace of getting there i suppose. so, i got to the game and was sitting down, watching the players warm up, looking at the fans, etc. (as a poet, people watching is a necessity) when this woman from the section next to me came up and puts her hand on my shoulder. my first thought was who the fuck do you think you are? of course, i didn't verbalize that thought. she said i want you to keep it down over here. i saw you last night and you were just too rowdy. she said it in a way that i knew she was sarcastic or already drunk, i just sort of chuckled and went back to what i was doing. about 20 minutes later, a gay guy said hello to me. i figured by now, god and her cruel sense of humor was having fun. as for the games, North Dakota State, which had maybe half of the population of the state at the game, along with the school president, defeated NC Central, 78-74. i felt so bad for NC Central. they dug out of big hole, got the lead and then couldn't make a shot to save their lives down the stretch. that's the 3rd straight year they have lost at the First Four. in the second game, Arizona State and St. John's might have set basketball back 30 years with that one. so many fucking mistakes, horrible shot selection, it was like everyone was playing a video game version of the sport. Arizona State won, 74-65. i didn't get home until a quarter after midnight. i was going to leave early in the second half, setting the mark in my head that if St. John's didn't cut the lead to single digits by the first TV timeout, i was gone. sure enough, the fuckers cut the lead to 9. fuck. and to top everything off, it started to rain on the drive home. joy.

mom had everything ready when i got home. i was slightly surprised she was still awake.

NXT was excellent last night. i absolutely can't wait for the championship match at Takeover New York. Adam Cole vs. Johnny Gargano, 2 out of 3 falls. i'll go ahead and say it, match of the year by a mile.

NXT UK was excellent yesterday as well. i can't wait for Pete Dunne vs. Walter for the NXT UK title at Takeover New York.

You're the Worst was really good last night.

Drop the Mic was hilarious last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Gotham, Will & Grace, Better Things and Desus & Mero.

i did listen to episode 230 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

i've watched a little college basketball today. i've been flipping through the games, hoping for some upsets. Auburn just survived one.

the New York Yankees ended up losing yesterday to Houston, 2-1. they are getting destroyed by the Cardinals so far today. they went over a week without a loss. i can live with that if that is how the regular season is going to go.

the USMNT play a friendly tonight against Ecuador. i'll probably watch a little of that.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i hope everyone has a great rest of the day.

afternoon thunderstorms...

my bones were aching before i went out to get the mail. when i noticed the really dark cloud as i walked out to the mailbox, i knew i was in for a shitty afternoon. i did my best to get the mail inside next door before it started to pour. and by pour, i mean just fucking dump buckets and buckets of fucking rain. when it really rains like this, both of my legs feel like they are going to snap in two. that should illustrate to you how brutal my arthritis pain is.

for some fucking reason, during the rain i decided to send out some poems. i sent out 13 poems; 2 to Winedrunk Sidewalk, 5 to Synchronized Chaos and 6 to Midnight Lane Boutique. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees pissed away a lead last night only to have Aaron Judge bail them out again. he hit his major league leading 22nd home run to help the Yankees beat the Angels last night, 5-3. that's the Yankees sixth straight win. hopefully they make it 7 tonight.

The Putin Interviews, Part 1 last night was pretty good. i have always had a fascination with Russia since i was told as a child they were evil. i was never the type of kid to just take what my elders told me and believe it. i had to learn for myself. the Russian people are not evil. the government, like ALL governments, most likely is. and i see how Putin could easily manipulate Trump given their shared hatred for NATO. all in all, i thought it was a good start. hopefully Part 2 tonight will be as good.

Monday Night Raw started off so good last night. the brawl between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar was great. and then the show just sort of did nothing else for the rest of the night. i was hoping that the tag team title rematch was going to save the show, especially since it was 2 out of 3 falls. of course, when you have the final fall be a double count out, there's no way anyone could be happy with that finish.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch, The Jim Jefferies Show and The Putin Interviews, Part 2. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast today. you can find that by going here:

i didn't watch any of the NBA Finals last night. i figured Golden State was going to win. the only thing i didn't like about that was David West getting a title. he will always be a piece of shit from Xavier that i will hate.

i found out today that my aunt, who got her hip replaced the same day as mom, has to go back to the hospital and more or less have the surgery redone. apparently she got an infection. both mom and i really wonder if she will ever make it back to the house next door.

that's all for me today kids. i have trash to pick up and i have to take a fucking shower.

i suppose the sun will shine again...

i think i got almost 7 hours of sleep last night. and that was without the help of alcohol or pills. maybe i was due or maybe time is finally catching up with me. i'll probably figure it out by the time i die.

i was pretty happy when the Yankees were up 5-0 last night. then the rain delay happened and i started watching other things. i noticed the Yankees were up 6-0 and the next time i saw the score, the Yankees had lost 12-6. fuck me. how the fuck do you give up 8 runs in the 8th inning? talk about throwing away a game they needed to win. they play again this afternoon.

Smackdown was really good last night. once again, it's so much easier to write for 2 hours than 3. that is where Monday Night Raw falls short every damn week. i really enjoyed the Ziggler/Ambrose segment. that match should be excellent on Sunday. also, the Eva Marie excuses get better and better each week. brilliant.

Hard Knocks was pretty funny last night. i'm still amazed at the number of people that don't believe in certain shit and believe in other stupid shit. i suppose i can thank President Reagan for destroying the department of education in the 80's; look at all the stupid people we have since then. coincidence? i doubt it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Tyrant and Any Given Wednesday. i'll be watching NXT and CWC on WWE Network.

i'll probably watch the USA men's basketball game against Argentina today. they better hope they don't play like shit today.

i think today is supposed to be another day of rain and humidity. the dog days are even worse than i can remember in the past. this might be a good day to dip my toes into some creativity.

the winter blues before Thanksgiving...

i knew i was trapped in the middle of the winter blues when i nearly blew a gasket when i found the morning paper was wet. i have a very short fuse at times, and a wet newspaper is amazingly high on that list. but, a little nap, a little porn, and some music usually does the trick. not that i suddenly become happy, just more back to my mellow self. of course, that will change as soon as the hockey game starts tonight.

no dead cats today, at least from what i saw, so i don't think it got as cold last night. of course, it's supposed to get down to the single digits again tonight i think. the problem i have when it is cold out is the days just start to bleed together. the life cycle becomes just a repeat of days, of hours, of moments before. the more i think about it, the more i truly believe i'm not going to miss living out here. even if i do end up with shitty neighbors.

i did watch a good amount of college basketball last night. that Kentucky team is fucking scary. if they actually learn how to play together as a team, i'm not sure who can beat them.

i had no problem with the two that got voted off The Voice last night. they did nothing for me. now, the problem is only a few of the ten that are left are "good" to my ears. i do like the twist where they are bringing back everyone voted off from the top 12 for one more performance and one of them will become the fourth finalist. that could be interesting.

tonight is a bit of a clusterfuck for me on television. the New York Rangers play at home against Philadelphia tonight. at the same time, Lucha Underground is on. the way the Rangers are playing here lately, i might go with wrestling. then, tonight at 10 is American Horror Story. that should be a good way to finish off my night.

just found out that Jimmy Ruffin has died. he did one of my favorite songs ever...

the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow morning down in Puerto Rico. i'll most likely be on here sometime after that game with Texas A&M.

this story made me laugh today. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/jason-isbell-receives-bizarre-request-to-audition-for-the-voice-20141119 just imagine what that show could be if the producers actually knew music.

that's all for me today. hope this finds you warm, thinking of my face somewhere between your thighs. no, not you Janne. i'm speaking to the one or two women that may stumble upon this and actually make it to the end.

funny how a win makes things better

so i was up at 6 this morning wondering how and if Manchester United was going to show up today. after a little breakfast, i was thrilled that the team i have followed since 1992 somewhat resembled a team i would be proud of. of course, they were playing a horrible team (that happened to beat them at home earlier this season) so i'm taking all of this with a grain of salt. but a 3-0 win is worthy of me being happy, for at least a few hours.

my cousin showed up this morning to pick up his cd. he paid me more than i was asking, which is always appreciated. he wants me to make him a few more with all the other songs on his list. so, it looks like i'll be downloading a ton of country music i don't listen to. but i'm being paid to do it, so i'll survive.

had a little fun on iTunes last night finding some songs i've been searching for for years. granted, i wasn't looking that hard. but, now that there is still a little money left on the gift card, i figured i better get them. you'll see what they are down below in the music section.

thankfully, ROH was on at noon here today. i'm really happy i won't have to try to stay awake to see it tonight. another great episode. all 3 matches were excellent. i'm still hoping to go in 2 weeks to see them in Dayton. but, chances are that's not going to happen.

today starts the MLS season. i imagine i will catch a few minutes of the games today before i hop in the shower. given all the stars that have joined the league this year, i will be paying more attention to it.

i am looking forward to see how i do tonight at the basketball game. i'm expecting to feel a little pain as i'll be doing something i haven't done in over a month. hopefully, the game is good enough to cancel out any discomfort i have. it is a MUST win for Dayton. with a ton of luck, they could get the 4 seed in the A10 tournament. chances are, 5 or 6 is more likely. but, for a team that started league play off horribly, i'm thrilled they have rebounded the way they have. tonight should be a nice way to send out the seniors. plus, the hall of fame ceremony at halftime should be really good as well.

and hopefully i am back home in time to watch Saturday Night Live and turn all the clocks ahead 1 hour. that's one thing i am paranoid about, given all the European sports i watch. of course, i'll forget to change the clock in my truck when i take the trash down tomorrow and probably won't realize it is the wrong time for a few weeks. i can't miss the start of a soccer game but anything i have to drive to, whatever. i'll get there when i get there. that reminds me i haven't worn a watch since i was in the 6th grade. not sure people caught on that i really didn't give a fuck. i'm sure they know by now.

silly me, the tree house show must have had their season finale last week. so much for me paying attention. so, last night after the hockey game was all Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. that show is pretty much how i decide where i'd like to live in the country. music festivals, good food, and sports teams. all the other important shit i'll leave to the people with money.

the New York Rangers were frustrating the shit out of me last night. it was partly them, and partly the goalie for Carolina. but thankfully, the flood gates opened up in the 3rd period and the Rangers won 4-2. and 3 of the goals came from guys on my fantasy hockey team. that helped me greatly. they play again tomorrow at noon against Detroit at home. i figure Hank will start again as he will be seeking his 300th win in the NHL. should be a good one.

that is all for now. much like i tell my cats when i'm closing up the barn, be well, stay together, eat whatever you kill, and be curious at your own risk.

peace my enemies...
