one of those Mondays...

so, i completely forgot today was a holiday. since there was no mail delivery today, i decided to catch up on some sleep. now, i'm sure i have around 400 emails i need to catch up on, but that will happen later tonight.

so, lets start with the Manchester United game yesterday. when United got down 1-0, i wasn't surprised. lately it seems they need a punch to the dick to wake the fuck up. and thankfully, they did. Antony scored to even it at 1-1. he's the first United player to ever score in his first 3 Premier League matches. United took the lead when CR7 scored his 700th career club goal. as i saw in a tweet, the man is just permanent class. United won the game 2-1. they are now in 5th place in the Premier League.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home against Seattle, 39-32. Taysom Hill had a game for the ages. 3 rushing touchdowns and a touchdown pass to Adam Troutman. of course, the Saints have injuries now to their top 3 wide receivers. so, the defense is going to have to get better as they are going to have to be a running team for the time being. they play the Bengals at home next week.

i did watch a good amount of MLS games yesterday. the Columbus Crew lost at Orlando yesterday, so they missed the playoffs for the second year in a row. and as i expected last night, they fired their coach today. Cincinnati won yesterday and qualified for the playoffs for the first time ever.

mom wanted some Pizza Hut last night. of course, they were basically sold out of everything she really wanted, so i got a pizza and some free breadsticks. it is actually one of the only ways she gets any vegetables anymore. she can't eat them raw, as they screw with her stomach way too much.

i did watch some of Game 3 last night between the Padres and Mets. i love that the Mets lost last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was really good last night.

Let The Right One In was excellent last night. i think i will enjoy the series.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Monday Night Raw and Avenue 5.

i did listen to episode 416 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear both parts of the episode with the links below:

so tomorrow should be a pretty busy day. mom has physical therapy in the afternoon and the New York Rangers have their home opener tomorrow night. at the same time, the Yankees will be playing Game 1 of their series against Cleveland at Yankee Stadium.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

sunshine, there you are...

the sun actually made an appearance today. that was very welcomed. i think i got something close to decent sleep last night. of course, my back said something else. so, i spent a good portion of the morning in my massage chair with ice on me. good times.

The Voice was good last night. i have no clue which two are getting cut tonight.

Monday Night Raw was good last night, for the most part. i was expecting something better since it was the last Raw before Survivor Series.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

up too early on a Sunday...

i went to bed last night at what i thought was a decent time, 2 AM. imagine my joy when i woke up and it was 4:15. i think i'm developing pinched nerves in both of my shoulders. and when a bad back keeps you from sleeping on it... good times. i finally got up at 7.

the Yankees waited until late to provide the fireworks yesterday, but they won over Boston, 5-3. they are now tied with Boston for the first wild card spot. hopefully, they will get another sweep tonight.

Ohio State whipped Akron last night, 59-7. they should have their hands full next week playing at Rutgers.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the season finale of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, BMF, Scenes From a Marriage, Last Week Tonight, Billions and American Rust. i'll be watching WWE Extreme Rules for most of the evening tonight.

somehow, bugs have invaded my bird food and ruined it for the most part. so, it looks after i throw all that shit away, i'll be going to Menard's tomorrow to get new bird food and new containers to put it in. i need to get a new birdhouse as well as the wind destroyed one of the ones i have out here.

i should be on here after i get all that done tomorrow.

i really hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday will be even better.

the New Orleans Saints play today at the Patriots. i would love to see the Saints win today. they are 3 point underdogs.

best of luck to everyone gambling today.

absolutely gutted...

so, Manchester United lost yesterday in the Europa League final to Villarreal 1-1 (11-10) in one of the crazier penalty shootouts i have ever seen. given some time to think about shit, i might be even more upset today than i was in the moment yesterday. i saw in the papers from Manchester this morning that on 3 different occasions, David de Gea went with his gut instead of what he was told to do while trying to make saves. if one of those times is a save, then United wins the damn thing and it never comes down to the goalies taking shots. and honestly, he's been at the club for a decade now, it is time to move on.

the Yankees were rained out last night so they are playing a doubleheader today against Toronto.

the finale of The Masked Singer was very good last night. i did guess the Piglet correct.

i did watch the Friends reunion special on HBO Max earlier today. i thought it was pretty good and certainly brought back some memories.

it was fucking pouring yesterday while i was grocery shopping. arthritis won the day for sure. i didn't get home until around 3:20. i did find some hockey cards yesterday. i got a rookie box set from Upper Deck. 25 cards of all the top rookies from this past season.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The United States of Al, Dark Side of the Ring and Dark Side of Football. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

so the Yankees had some injury news come out yesterday. Corey Kluber has been shut down for 2 months with his shoulder strain. not a good sign. Luke Voit is out with a Grade 2 injury to his oblique. that's probably a good 2 months there as well. add that into the Manchester United misery from yesterday and you should know by now that yesterday was one of those days i would love to forget it ever happened. sadly, i'm not blessed with that ability.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon. i think mom might want to go out shopping tomorrow at Big Lots. not sure yet. it all kind of depends on how she is feeling in the moment. i have learned there are no such thing as plans as you get closer to death.

i did see team USA win at the Hockey Worlds today over Latvia, 4-2.

i need to go test out the new garden hose i bought yesterday. it was on sale and i'm hoping it will be one that lasts for awhile.

karma never loses...

so when the news broke last night that one of the players on the Utah Jazz had the coronavirus, i knew it was a game changer. basketball is such a sport that this kind of shit can easily be given to anyone close, either on the court, in the stands, etc. the NBA had no choice but to suspend its season and i knew that would start the snowball downhill. now, when i found out the player on the Jazz was fucking around with his teammates, touching their shit, making fun of it, i just shook my head. karma never loses. too many fucking idiots will never learn that.

then the conference tournaments in college basketball started cancelling their games. and i knew my worst nightmare wasn't far away. March Madness isn't happening this year. as a Dayton Flyers fan, given the season they have had, 29-2, 18-0 in conference, probably going to be a #1 seed for the first time in school history. etc. etc. etc. i feel so sad for the players, the coaching staff, everyone involved. this season was a fucking dream. and this ending is only a reminder that there is no such thing as a happy ending.

i did hear from the NCAA today. my refund should appear on my credit card in the next 30 business days.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night in Colorado, 3-2. that put them just two points out of a playoff spot. of course, the NHL followed the NBA's lead and suspended its season this morning.

the MLB is pushing back the start of the regular season 2 weeks.

i think the XFL is done, MLS suspended their season for 30 days, and now i'm just waiting to see if/when WrestleMania will get postponed.

this virus is like a punch to the dick to all my sports. fuck me.

Manchester United won today in the Europa League 5-0 over in an empty stadium in Austria. i watched on a feed out of the Middle East. i'm really happy with the victory as they now can play the kids in the second leg at home.

The Masked Singer was crazy last night.

NXT was excellent last night.

AEW was really good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, the season finale of The Unicorn, Will & Grace, Indebted, Better Things, Cake and Desus & Mero.

i watched NXT UK this afternoon, it was really good.

i imagine i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. given the hysteria and panic the asshole that runs this shit show has placed upon this new dystopian society, i can't wait for the fucking circus tomorrow.

that's all for me kids. we've got rain in the area and my bones are like a fucking heroin addict in need of a fix at the moment.

Friday the 13th and a full moon, what could go wrong?...

i wish i had two tickets to paradise right now. rest in peace Eddie Money.

the grocery store was a bit of a zoo today. mom had scroll of things for me to get. i forgot to get the vinegar she wanted. of course i didn't realize that until i got home. she said don't worry about it. i figure she'll make me go get it in a couple days. i only spent $10 at the liquor store. of course, between my pills and the food, that was around $180. asshole's tariffs are hitting us now. good times.
(quick update... mom actually moved some things in the cabinet and found some vinegar. that made me laugh, given all the times i was scolded as a child for not looking hard enough for whatever my mother or father sent me off to find, usually in the fucking junk drawer. good times)

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday in Detroit, 10-4 and 6-4. they start a series tonight in Toronto. the magic number is down to 5.

i did watch a little of Tampa's win over Carolina last night. to be honest, they both suck.

Big Brother was crazy last night. i guess Michie pulled off an elaborate lie and got Cliff and Nicole to change their minds and vote out Tommy. Nicole won HOH, so she's guaranteed to be in the final 3. Michie will need to win the VETO to have any damn chance to make the final 3.

Mr InBetween was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Murder in the Bayou, Real Time with Bill Maher and Room 104.

tonight is the start of my 25th class reunion. hard to believe i graduated high school that long ago. thankfully, i have no money, so i won't be going to any of the events. not that people will miss me or anything. i figured long ago my popularity in high school was due to drugs and alcohol.

i will be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon. i know Manchester United plays before Ohio State does, but it isn't on television, so i'll have to follow that online i suppose. here's a preview of that game, which i'm sure they'll fucking lose again.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

happy labor day

i haven't held a job where i got a steady paycheck since i was 26. so when labor day rolls around each year, i always wonder to ever give a shit about it or not. my grandmother was a member of the teamsters and my father worked for the post office for almost 40 years. i'll stick to my way i suppose.

the New York Yankees were trailing yesterday going into the 8th inning 4-0. and then, the comeback began. and this is why i think this team has the chance to be special. the Yankees scored 3 in the 8th and then hit back to back home runs in the 9th to defeat Oakland, 5-4. it's the first time they have hit back to back home runs to win a game since 2009, the last time they won the World Series. i'd love to see history repeat itself this year. the Yankees start a series with the Texas Rangers this afternoon. hopefully, they will keep on winning.

Big Brother was pretty good last night.

Power was fucking great last night.

Succession was excellent last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was very funny last night.

Ballers was good last night.

The Affair was great last night.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida was good last night.

enjoy some music:

it was like moving heaven and earth...

i didn't even bother to try to sleep in my bed last night. that being said, it felt like it took moving heaven and earth to get any sleep in my massage chair. i know at 6 this morning, i said fuck it, and went back into my bed. between both spots, i might have got 4 hours. joy.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Arizona, 4-2. they put two more guys on the injured list this morning. i have no clue if they will make any trades today or not. hopefully, they find a way to get a fucking win this afternoon.

Smackdown was pretty good last night, as was 205 Live.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Snowfall and Unmasking Jihadi John: Anatomy of a Terrorist. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the trade deadline for MLB is 4 PM today. everything i have heard so far is if the Yankees don't get a deal they like, they are going to do nothing at the deadline.

i will probably be on here before i have to take the car in to the dealership tomorrow afternoon. i think it's just going to be for an oil change, but with the appointment being in the late afternoon, i don't want to take any chances that i'm sitting there for a couple hours with a blog still to do. so yeah, look for me in the morning tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a good day.

a day to forget

well, i think i have finally figured out how to get 5 hours of sleep in a row. don't go to bed until six in the morning. when i woke up and saw it was 11 AM i started to laugh. what's a good breakfast to eat at noon?

yesterday was one of those days where i'm truly happy i'm a poet. i'm well adjusted enough that when shit goes sideways, i know how to swallow my anger and vent it in a somewhat productive way.

when mom and i got to the basketball game yesterday, we got a program and went to find our seats. mom believed the seats were in the back row two sections over from where we normally sit. well, it was in the back row all right. the row that was nothing but chairs meant to be moved for wheelchairs. just fucking lovely. about two minutes into sitting there mom looked over at me and said this is going to kill your back isn't it? i said yeah, but i'm sure i'll be able to channel that pain somewhere. it was at that time i had learned Manchester United had got knocked out of the Champions League by Sevilla. to say i was seething would be an understatement.

mom said next time she'll let me handle the tickets. i agreed, considering this is two straight years she has managed to fuck something up. i guess it's getting to that point where i have to be the asshole son.

the First Four games were pretty good last night. Radford defeated LIU Brooklyn 71-61.that was their first win in tournament history. our seats were behind the Radford section. that had a good number of fans rooting for them. they had a player from Cincinnati on their roster, so i think that helped. in the second game, the Dayton fans kept their word and made Saint Bonaventure feel at home. and it worked. Saint Bonaventure defeated UCLA 65-58. that was their first win in the tournament since 1970. we got out of the parking lot right around midnight. joy.

we went to Waffle House after the game. that's basically the only thing that is open in Brookville at that hour. unless we wanted to eat gas station food. our waitress at Waffle House was in a pissy mood and the cook was new. these are the nights the world should he happy i don't carry a fucking gun with me.

once we got home, i started watching everything that recorded. thankfully, all of it did record, even though the snow fucked with the recording of Vice News Tonight.

oh, to top off everything, about 3 minutes after i got home i found out that Stephen Hawking died. to the man that actually got me interested in science after all the teachers in my life had failed, thank you.

The Voice was pretty good last night. the blind auditions are now over. now the fun truly begins.

Smackdown was much better last night. i did enjoy the Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn brutal beatdown of Shane McMahon.

205 Live was excellent last night. Cedric Alexander vs. Roderick Strong was very good.

Baskets was pretty funny last night.

Hate Thy Neighbor was all about feminism last night. a very interesting show to watch bleary eyed at 5 in the morning.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. the Rangers are starting their backup goalie again. this makes me pretty happy. they might as well see what the kids can do before they have to start making decisions in the summer.

the First Four games tonight are:
NC Central vs. Texas Southern
Arizona State vs. Syracuse

mom will be happy as at least we know there will be good bands at the game. my penis did enjoy the fact that UCLA brought their cheerleaders and dance team last night.

i figure i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. i'm going to go stretch out and hopefully take a giant shit.

hope you enjoy the visual.

the end of 2017 (hopefully)

well, we've come to the end of another year. much like i expected, the chaos in the country and government have been a boon to my writing. this has easily been my most productive year as a writer. i'm hoping to have some concrete plans in place sometime in 2018 for a new book, some new videos on YouTube, some new recordings on Soundcloud, and if i happen to get a wild hair up my ass, i'm thinking of doing an album of spoken word recordings and releasing that on Bandcamp. now, let's see if my lazy ass does any of that shit in the next year or not.

the Dayton Flyers lost yesterday at Duquesne 70-62. for some damn reason, this team can't finish a half strong, be it the first or second half. Dayton had the lead early and then blew that by halftime. Dayton had the lead in the second half and then only scored 1 more point for the rest of the game. it could just be how young they are or it could be a coach that simply doesn't know what the fuck he is doing right now. and i love all the Anthony Grant apologists that are coming to his defense with the old wait until he gets all of his players in here excuse. if they still suck in 3 years, i hope they all understand just how much they were wrong.

Manchester United played a listless 0-0 draw yesterday against Southampton. Lukaku got stretchered off in the first half and he will miss at least the next 2 games. Zlatan is out for a month, so i guess that means any goal scoring is going to have to come from Rashford or Martial. i would put down Pogba but they have him playing so far from the goal that i refuse to be delusional about him scoring again this season. sadly, this season has now turned into a struggle to stay in the top 4. great.

ROH last night was a look back at some of the matches from 2017.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Shameless and the season finale of SMILF.

the New Orleans Saints can win their division today with a win at Tampa Bay. with a little luck, they could even get a higher seed if they win. they haven't won the division since 2011.

team USA plays Finland today at the World Juniors. a victory will give them second place in the group. anything else and they will have a tougher game in the quarterfinals.

i believe it was somewhere around -7 when i went out to get the paper this morning. i won't be going outside again today.

i'm not sure what the hell i'll be doing at midnight tonight. if it's like most of my adult years, i'll have a beverage in one hand and plenty of poetic thoughts in my head. the sad thing, the only kiss i have ever had at midnight of a new year was from a guy. not that there's anything wrong with that, but watching that shit after the ball drops is probably why most of my poems that start off a new year are bitter as fuck.

as always, i hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve. drive safely, party hard and live with no regrets.

this year is seriously trying to kill me

nothing quite like driving 55 on a little two lane road in the sticks and a fucking truck decides to pull out in front of you. as i told my mother when i got home finally this afternoon... well, your brakes work.

i went to Menards by myself today. that little driving incident happened on my way there. so much for those clean underwear. it took every ounce of my soul to stop me from running that fucker off the road. on top of that, i couldn't find anything i was hoping to find for myself today. so, i bought myself a lava lamp that was on sale. i did find everything mom wanted and found a few things for my sister. and i kept the bill under $100. that surprised mom.

after that i had to drop off some paperwork at the doctor's office. i guess we are staying with the new doctors that have moved into the practice. we both have appointments in early January. that should be interesting.

after that, it was off to the grocery store to get some detergent that mom forgot to have me get yesterday and her prescriptions. as i stood in line there, i was hoping her order was ready or someone was going to have to fucking die. these are the afternoons where i wish i would just slink off into a bar and drink myself away.

i started laughing on the way home. the powers that be can simply ask me if i want to die. i'll gladly volunteer to go right after my next round of poetry submissions.

speaking of poems, i wrote 3 more last night around 2 in the morning. something about watching a sex scene in a kitchen that brought back a memory from my 20's. i typed those poems up this morning. i really like them. that makes 35 for the month.

Treehouse Masters was a bit of a Christmas marathon last night. 2 of the 4 episodes i had never seen before.

the New York Rangers won last night in a shootout over Washington 1-0. no one scored until the shootout. both backups played last night in goal. sadly, Chris Kreider left the game with a bad right arm. it was determined today he has a blood clot. that's not good. and trust me, i know.

NXT was really good last night. i'm really happy for Johnny Gargano.

41 in my mind, with the body of some old man willing to die

i think i was in my massage chair for most of yesterday. i tried ice, i tried heat, i tried sleeping, none of it to much success. that's the joy of a bad back. sometimes it has a mind of its own. so, now i'm walking like i am in my 70's. joy.

the New York Rangers won their 6th straight game yesterday, defeating Edmonton 4-2. for the first time since the 90's it feels like the Rangers actually have a power play that works. i guess getting Kevin Shattenkirk was worth it. the Rangers are off until Wednesday when they will play at Chicago.

Ohio State rebounded nicely from their horrible loss last week to absolutely destroy Michigan St., 48-3 yesterday. honestly, the game never felt even that close.

the LEGO Batman Movie was really good last night.

Foo Fighters - Landmarks Live in Concert was awesome last night. to see them play in Greece at the Acropolis was truly a sight to see.

ROH was excellent last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

Saturday Night Live was great last night. i wasn't sure how they would use Tiffany Haddish, so i was pleasantly surprised they actually allowed her to be great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Shameless, SMILF and the series finale of Vice Principals.

the New Orleans Saints play today at Buffalo. if the Saints win today on the road, i'll know they are for real this season. Buffalo is one of the better home teams in the league.

i have all the poems printed out that i want to read during my interview tomorrow morning. i'm really hoping i get a good night of sleep before that happens in the morning tomorrow. it will be the biggest one of these things i have done, so i know i'll probably already be in my own head at some point.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow sometime after that is recorded. i know mom wants to go out shopping at some point this week. since we are going up to my sister's for Christmas, apparently we are now roped in to doing stockings for her friends children. that had me scrambling last night, figuring out how to use my rewards points on my Capital One credit card. thankfully, i hadn't touched them before, so i was able to get a really nice gift card to Amazon.com that should cover everything.

now, do i get them something reasonable or something loud as fuck? decisions, decisions...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.
