i really thought there was going to be some upsets last night in the NCAA tournament. sadly, that didn't really happen. at least, that is how i'm explaining going 11-7 on night 2.

trying to sleep during a tornado warning...
so, we had some storms rumble through here last night. i didn't get to sleep until the big line of thunderstorms that produced tornados got through the area. once i didn't hear any sirens, i knew i could go to sleep. but shit, i was up 3 hours later to put the trash out. it was probably 40 fucking degrees colder today than it was yesterday. good times.
the cover to our phone box outside on the house blew off in the storm. thankfully, the guy from Spectrum actually found it in the field behind us and bolted it on so it wouldn't come off again. Luke was probably the best Spectrum worker we have ever had out here. we also lost a wind chime in the storm. i found most of that in the yard. it was too mangled to try to save, so that went in the trash.
grocery shopping was a bit of a chore today. good news i guess, i think i have lost weight. my only clue was my pants kept falling down. good times. i got everything on the list and was home a little later than i wanted to be. but, i did get to watch most of the second half of the Manchester United game.
United was playing at Nottingham Forest today in the FA Cup. winner goes to the quarterfinals. thankfully, United won it late on a Casemiro header to win 1-0. the reward is to play Liverpool in the next round. great.

i wasn't using that hour anyway...
i got all the clocks set last night except for the one in the Highlander. mom always has that one set twenty minutes fast so we're never late anywhere. i figure i might change that if i go out somewhere today. i was hoping to meet up with a friend later today but she hasn't texted me back yet.
well, let me begin with the Ohio State at Rutgers game from yesterday. i only got to see the highlights of it, but i figured they would struggle as i don't think they are the kind of team that knows how to handle success easily. but, a win is a win, 35-16.

it feels like the rain will never stop...
it started raining late last night and over 12 hours later, still is. between my pinched nerves and my arthritis, today has been a fresh slice of hell. good times.
i did write 4 poems today while i was in the parking lot where mom does her physical therapy. she told me to just wait in the Highlander so i wouldn't get wet. i typed the 4 poems up this afternoon. i think they are really good.
the USA women's hockey team lost to Canada last night, 3-2.

hard to believe
30 years ago i remember buying Nevermind by Nirvana at the Salem Mall. hell, that mall doesn't even exist anymore. it was one of the albums that influenced me more than anything else in this world. and i happened to get it right as poetry was slowly taking over my life. i can remember the lyrics to those songs to this day. and i'm pretty sure Kurt Cobain influenced my writing just as much as Bukowski and Burroughs or Ginsberg did. so, today has been one of those nostalgia mind fucks and a sad reminder that Kurt isn't here to see this.

maybe i can get some sleep now...
my mother had her oxygen tank (for lack of a better word) delivered here last night. the guy who brought it and set it up was really nice. he explained things very clearly. mom has to use it every night while she is sleeping. thankfully, it doesn't make much noise. she said she felt pretty good last night. we have to figure out all her foods and how much she can have. but, i'm sure we'll get the feel for that before too long.
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
Austin City Limits was an old episode last night with Willie Nelson.

like finding a little gold...
while doing that, i also got my laundry done and i wrote and typed up 5 poems.
Austin City Limits was very good last night. it was the episode that had H.E.R. on it. hopefully, i won't delete it this time.
ROH was really good last night.
Yvonne Orji: Momma, I Made It was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR today will be Shelter in Place with Shane Smith, VICE, Billions, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Be Water, I Know This Much Is True, Insecure, I May Destroy You, Last Week Tonight and Hightown. i'll be watching NXT Takeover: In Your House for most of the evening.
i will be on here tomorrow sometime after my doctor's appointment. it's really just a nurse visit to get the shot i was supposed to get back in April, but i have no clue if that is all they are really going to do or not.
i told mom to make sure she tells me if she needs anything while i'm out since i will be pretty close to the Meijer i shop at. at the very least, that will give me the chance to see if i can find any 2020 Bowman baseball cards.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night.
The New Pope was excellent last night.
McMillion$ was great last night.
Desus & Mero was hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be WWE Backstage and Ali & Cavett: The Tale of the Tapes.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Rhode Island. Dayton is 10-0 in the A10 this year. Rhode Island is 10-1. plus, Obi Toppin's brother Jacob plays for Rhode Island. tonight should be a really good game. i really hope Dayton plays its best game of the season tonight. they will probably need it.
the New York Rangers play tonight on the road at Winnipeg. the trade deadline is under 2 weeks away. this little road trip should make up the team's mind regarding to sell or buy at the deadline.
that's pretty much all for me kids. i need to get the trash picked up, take a shower, hopefully sneak in a nap and then go to the game.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
until then...

apparently, i used all my sleep up in a different life...
the New York Yankees won again last night over Houston, 4-1. that's 7 wins in a row. hopefully, they can keep it going tonight.
i did watch a good portion of the first round of the NHL Draft last night. the New York Rangers got exactly who i was hoping for. i'll pay attention a little bit to the rest of the draft today, mostly because i think the Rangers might be trading a few players to get a little more salary cap space for a certain Russian winger that played in Columbus last season.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NJPW was really good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.
Los Espookys was fucking hilarious last night.
i did watch a little of the Gold Cup last night. here are your scores:
El Salvador vs. Jamaica finished 0-0 and Curacao upset Honduras last night, 1-0.
tonight, Guyana takes on Panama and the USA will be looking for some fucking revenge against Trinidad & Tobago. i will be watching that tonight.
as for the Women's World Cup, Germany is currently leading Nigeria 2-0 at halftime. i do plan on watching some of Norway vs. Australia later this afternoon.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
i will hopefully have a couple victory drinks tonight and hoping that will ease the pain from the storms we're supposed to have at some point this evening.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.
i will hopefully be on here tomorrow before Old Timer's Day at Yankee Stadium.
oh yeah, for those that are wondering, of course we didn't use the new oven last night. my mother sent my sister to go get some BBQ from Old Hickory in town.
until tomorrow kids...

i did watch most of the first round of the NFL Draft last night. i'll probably watch most of the draft tonight as well. i'm hoping the New Orleans Saints get some guys that can fill some holes.
the New York Yankees pissed away a 4-0 lead last night and lost to the Angels, 11-5. they start a series tonight at the San Francisco Giants.

and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.
i'll be flipping between playoff hockey, playoff basketball, baseball and the NFL Draft tonight.
the grocery store was fucking crowded as hell today. of course, the pharmacy didn't have everything ready that i called in. i wasn't in the mood to fucking wait, as i saw how fucking long they were taking with everything. i did manage to get everything on the list and keep it under $100.
of course, i'm not a big fan of eating lunch at 4:30 in the afternoon.
the guy for the windows was here at 9 this morning. i woke up at 8:55. joy. he did see exactly what mom was talking about with the windows. he insulated the spots better and didn't charge mom a thing for it. she was happy about that.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'll shoot for the morning and then hope i get it done before the Yankees play in the afternoon.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

having lost the ability to sleep well years ago...
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at Auburn 82-72. Dayton had 23 turnovers in the game. that's a recipe for losing, that's for sure. other than that, Dayton was good enough to actually have a chance in the game. oh well.
the New York Rangers won last night over Florida, 5-4. the Rangers couldn't hold a lead worth a shit last night, so they had to win the game in the shootout.
Atlanta won the MLS Cup last night with a 2-0 win over Portland.
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
ROH was really good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the finale of Enemies: The President, Justice and the FBI, Ray Donovan and Escape at Dannemora.
the New Orleans Saints play this afternoon in Tampa Bay. with a win today, the Saints will win the division. it would be the first time in franchise history they would win the division in back to back seasons.
after that is over, i'll probably get started on getting everything ready to take to the post office tomorrow. if you happen to be lucky enough to get something from me this year, check your mailboxes in the next few days.
i'm not sure if mom wants to start putting up the Christmas decorations today or not. she took down the Thanksgiving shit last night.
i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from the post office.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

life with a bad back...
i've spent a good portion of today dealing with some crazy white woman from TNT (Trinidad & Tobago) that is pissed off that i didn't reply to her comments on my poems. i guess i am supposed to check my published poems every single day like a compulsive asshole to see if anyone has left a comment. oh, these foolish assholes. as i have learned over the years, there is such joy in just blocking these people and removing the negativity from my life.
so, let's start this adventure yesterday afternoon. i was watching WWE Crown Jewel (more on that turd later) and mom handed me the phone because she was going to take a shower. i just happened to look at the phone and noticed there was some voice messages on it. i checked them and wouldn't you know, the Highlander was ready at 8:15 yesterday morning. neither one of us heard the phone. i told mom and we left to go get it.
WWE Crown Jewel was going good until Vince decided he couldn't help himself. he just had to give the fans the middle finger. i didn't mind Hulk Hogan hosting the show. i was never that big of a fan. but, when Shane McMahon ended up winning the Best in the World tournament, that put a taste in my mouth that soured everything in the show. just fucking awful.
we did go to see the Dayton Flyers play last night. first off, the part of the arena that is finished looks amazing. our new seats are going to take some getting used to. i like the fact that we don't have another row behind us. we're sitting in a corner now, so it's a completely different view of the court. i did like the fact that mom wasn't affected as much by the lights and sounds like in previous years. when the arena gets finished, it will look like a smaller version of Nationwide Arena in Columbus. as for the game, i do like this team better than last season. it seems to be a better mix of players. now, i have no clue who is going to be the backup point guard. the defense from Dayton last night really didn't get good until the second half. i think that was mostly due to Capital running out of gas. Dayton is very athletic but can't defend worth shit at most times. any success Dayton has this year will come from their defense being turned into easy buckets. now, i did like the fact that they seemed a little more fluid when it came to offense. i absolutely loved what i saw out of Jhery Matos and Obi Toppin. those two should have amazing first seasons with the team. Dayton won last night 89-71. i'll try to forget that Capital (i think a division III team) was in the lead for most of the first half.
after the game, we went to Waffle House. it wasn't bad when we were the only ones in there. and then came the high school kids. i quickly remembered why i don't like white people who have never spent anytime in their lives around anyone with any sense of another culture. good god, so fucking annoying. this is why i always thank my mother for keeping me in a black high school.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.
the final episode of Pod Save America was really good last night.
NJPW was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits, ROH and Shut Up and Dribble.
i did get up this morning, after about 3 hours of sleep, to watch Manchester United play. thankfully, they came from behind today to defeat Bournemouth 2-1. i'll gladly take those 3 points.
after the game, i went to the grocery store. i had to get a ton of stuff today, mostly because i had a coupon that would give me $11 off if i spent at least $110. my goal is usually to keep everything under $100. so, i made sure to get some stuff that we would need, but maybe not right now; batteries, shit like that. plus, i had plenty of other coupons. the cashier nearly shit when he saw i saved over $64 on the groceries. let's just say we are stocked for a few weeks.
i was at the store when the Ohio State game started. good thing, as my mother said when i got home. today was one of those days Ohio Sate played down to its competition. that frustrates the living shit out of me. but, a victory is a victory. Ohio State defeated Nebraska, 36-31.
i will probably watch most of that LSU vs. Alabama game tonight. that should be, at least i'm hoping, a good one.
i have to remember to turn the clocks back tonight one hour. i hate people who say they get to sleep more with that. fuck you. it's another hour for me to write, explore my imagination, find more pleasure in the pain. and when one of you actually figures out what i mean by that, you'll understand me even more.
i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning most likely. the New Orleans Saints don't play until 4:25, so i'll have plenty of time to get one done tomorrow morning.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday night. call if you need bail money.
