i did the dishes last night in the bathtub. i made the coffee this morning in the living room. i figured i might as well start all that now since i know that is how the next couple of weeks are going to be.
the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at home against Grambling State, 76-46. they next play UNLV on Wednesday at home.
Manchester United lost at Newcastle yesterday, 1-0. they were probably lucky only to lose 1-0 to be honest.
the New York Rangers came from behind yesterday to win at Nashville, 4-3. they play tonight at home against San Jose.
i did watch plenty of college football yesterday:
the MLS final is all set up now. LAFC will be play at Columbus.
the USWNT defeated China yesterday, 3-0.
AEW Collision was good last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, the season finale of Shining Vale, Fellow Travelers, The Curse and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
we basically got one half of the kitchen cleaned out yesterday. today will be about moving mom's plants into her room and getting the rest of that portion of the kitchen cleaned out. thankfully, we don't have to move the kitchen table.
i did figure out who i am sending Christmas cards to. i will hopefully get that done in the next week or so.
we need to go to Home Depot today. mom bought a new kitchen light that of course didn't come with the light bulbs for it. plus, we need more trash bags as we are thankfully starting to throw some shit away.
the New Orleans Saints play at home today against the Lions. i will probably watch some of that after i get back home.
i have to be up before 7:30 in the morning tomorrow. i'm not sure how many alarms i will have to set to have that happen. i got the feeling our contractor Joe is one of those guys that gets up at 4:30 in the morning each day and wants to get to work right then and there. i caught in the conversation on Friday how he can start at 7:30 but at the job he just did, he started at 6 AM everyday. i am a nocturnal person, so this is going to get interesting.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i'm not sure if it actually made it above 32 degrees today. i only went out once to get the mail. we never got the phone call over the weekend like we were expecting, so the kitchen remodel didn't start today. now, mom's anxiety is through the roof since we have no clue when it will start. good times. once we get the call, we have to clean out the kitchen. and our house isn't exactly big enough to just move the stuff in the kitchen to another room. so, it is going to be a tricky thing to do. good times.
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at Atlanta, 24-15. they got over 400 yards of fucking offense and could only get 5 fucking field goals. fuck me.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday:
the conference finals in the MLS is set.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
Shining Vale was pretty funny last night. the season finale is next week.

well, let me begin with my disgust for Ohio State losing once again to that team up north. and mostly, i am pissed that Ryan Day coached scared. and a fucking fill in outcoached him by a fucking mile. Ohio State played like they didn't want to lose the game instead of going out there and imposing their will and win the fucking game. 3 years in a row now. how can you destroy every other team in the Big Ten but come up short against the only rival you have and in the biggest game of every fucking season? Ohio State lost 30-24.
i did watch a few college football games yesterday:
the New York Rangers won at home yesterday over Boston, 7-4.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
AEW Rampage and AEW Collision were pretty good last night.
WWE Survivor Series was great last night. both War Games matches were excellent and the surprise at the end of the show was something i never thought in a million fucking years i would ever see again.
Austin City Limits was very good last night.
i did catch some of the highlights last night in the MLS playoffs. the Eastern Conference finals are going to be amazing.

the New Orleans Saints are currently losing at Atlanta, 14-9.
it is raining here and i am already doing laundry as i have been to the bathroom twice and you can imagine the fun with a bad back and explosive shits. good times.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
well, there was just enough rain in the area today that agony was the better word for pain. i feel like i didn't sleep at all, even though i know i did. i did ice my back down, that helped some. these are the days where i need a tub filled ice and i can just spend a few hours in it. or maybe Santa will bring me a morphine drip this Christmas. fingers crossed.
so, one of my favorite female poets contacted me last night and wants to do a little project with me. that certainly got the creative juices flowing. so, i have 10 poems to send her later today. i have wanted to work with her for years, so i'm really happy this creation is beginning.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night in the championship game down in Charleston to Houston, 69-55. at least they did get two quality wins down there. that should help build that tournament resume.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday:

i should be on here tomorrow after mom has her physical therapy.
one thing i have noticed over the years is how the holidays normally will depress the shit out of me. as much as i have tried to eliminate the negativity in my life to help lift my mood, it doesn't always work that way. i keep playing something the muse said to me last night over and over in my head. this also reminds me why i am a poet. if i didn't know how to string the words together to make sense of this shit, i would be so frustrated that death would be the only option left.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

Ohio State destroyed Minnesota yesterday, 37-3. next up is that team up north.

sometimes the pain gets to the point where i am simply in my massage chair hoping that it will subside for a bit so i can get some shit done. and eventually, either the ice works or my stubbornness gets to the point where i say fuck it, and i just go. the problem with that is it takes me forever to get things done. like last night, it took me forever just to do one day's worth of dishes. and then going through emails, paying some bills and next thing you know, it is 5:30 in the morning and the plumber will be here at 10. joy.
it looks everything is a go for the kitchen remodel. you have no clue how fucking happy i am going to be to actually have a fucking dishwasher again.
the New Orleans Saints played like shit yesterday and lost at Minnesota, 27-19. when you lose your QB, one of your top WR's and your top CB, it makes for a long, long game. thankfully, the bye week is now.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over Columbus in a shootout, 4-3. considering the Rangers tied the game with 11 seconds to go in the 3rd period, i'll gladly take those 2 points.
the Columbus Crew won last night at home over Atlanta, 4-2, to advance in the MLS playoffs.

i was a busy boy yesterday. i was hoping that was going to exhaust me but of course it didn't. i'm at the age now where i might get a few hours here and a few hours there but there is just so much shit going on that actual rest is a fucking fairytale. i did make it to Rite Aid yesterday. by the time mom stopped putting shit on the list, even with this good ass coupon i had, i spent over $140 there. i did get the house vacuumed before the Ohio State game last night. that is always a good measure to see how much my bad back is fucking with me. and as usual, i needed ice afterwards. i eventually got to bed at 4:30 AM. i first saw the clock at 7. life is a cruel joke. and of course, mom wanted a big breakfast this morning.
Ohio State whipped Michigan State last night, 38-3.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon. the plumber is coming tomorrow to look at the toilet and the company doing our kitchen remodel wants to have a phone meeting to go over everything one last time, get the final signoffs, etc. so yeah, i'll be on here after all that is over tomorrow.

so, mom got a call yesterday that i don't think either one of us were expecting. my cousin's husband died yesterday morning. now, he wasn't in the greatest health to begin with, but dying in your early 60's isn't exactly the norm anymore. fuck, i can remember being in their wedding back in the 80's. those memories coming back yesterday was a bit of a mind fuck. but, i look at it like this... he's no longer in pain and the house isn't in his name. at least my cousin won't have to go through that nightmare. and, he chose cremation, so there isn't the need to spend a ton of money on a funeral. the absolutely shitty thing was yesterday was the birthday of their daughter. i can't imagine her pain and loss right now.
so, the friend i was hoping to meet up with yesterday didn't text me back until after 4 PM. i'm not sure what she had going on as she never texted me back after the initial text. i'm never sure why people will say yes to doing something and then never contact the person when something comes up, etc. i mean, i'm not a fucking asshole 100% of the time. i do understand that life gets in the fucking way sometimes. but when someone claims they want to be with you and the last two attempts have gone haywire and sideways, i can't help but wonder, what the fuck is really going on. and with my lack of self esteem, it is always going to come back to what is wrong with me. i will ask the peanut gallery to pipe down, that was rhetorical.
the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home against Chicago, 24-17.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday and last night.

i got all the clocks set last night except for the one in the Highlander. mom always has that one set twenty minutes fast so we're never late anywhere. i figure i might change that if i go out somewhere today. i was hoping to meet up with a friend later today but she hasn't texted me back yet.
well, let me begin with the Ohio State at Rutgers game from yesterday. i only got to see the highlights of it, but i figured they would struggle as i don't think they are the kind of team that knows how to handle success easily. but, a win is a win, 35-16.
WWE Crown Jewel was very good yesterday.
the New York Rangers lost last night at Minnesota, 5-4, in a shootout. they pissed away a 3-0 lead last night, so that pissed me off. but, at least they got a point out of the game.
FC Cincinnati won on penalty kicks last night to advance in the MLS playoffs.
i did watch a few college football games yesterday:

hard to believe that college basketball starts back up tomorrow. i had to give up my Dayton Flyers season tickets. that was a tough decision to make but i knew i couldn't afford them anymore. plus, as i have told mom, now that we don't have the tickets, they will probably do something magical this season.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i laughed when i saw that there is a chance for snow on Halloween. even better, by the weekend, it should back in the 60's. so, this will be the week where everyone will get fucking sick. joy.
i did take mom to her appointment with a dietician today. basically it was a two hour talk about diabetes, food, old stories about nursing, best ways to get good protein and how hard it is for me to juggle the need for protein and also the sodium restrictions that mom has.
well, let me start back at the shit show that was the Manchester derby. United basically got their asses handed to them, losing to City, 3-0. i honestly didn't watch the match once i saw the starting lineup. when you see a few names that shouldn't even be on the team in the lineup, you automatically fear for the worst. the fact that it ended up 3-0 instead of City scoring 6 or 7 goals is minor fucking miracle.
the USWNT won yesterday against Colombia, 3-0.
the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at the Colts, 38-27.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday:
