a cold, dreary day...

i might have got almost 5 hours of sleep last night. some weird dreams, but that's nothing new. the grocery shopping went pretty well today. i got really lucky with getting gas today at Kroger. i had $1 off to use, so i ended up getting gas for $1.65 after that $1 off. as soon as i got done filling up, the price changed to $3.09. add in that the woman running the cash register today didn't scan my Dial Body Wash... the little victories mean so much these days.

The Voice last night was really good.

both episodes of St. Denis Medical were hilarious last night.

NXT was very good last night.

the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Winnipeg, 6-3.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer, Abbott Elementary and Inside the NFL.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Ball St. Dayton is 16.5 point favorites tonight. hopefully, they win by more than that.

it is supposed to rain here tonight, so i'm really hoping Dayton wins to temper the misery that will be going on in this house of arthritis.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get mom's eyedrops from Kroger. they of course texted her 2 hours after i was done shopping saying they were ready. good times.

i guess the convicted felon president elect is only going to select those that kiss his fat ass the best to be in his cabinet. i'm fully convinced now that he's going to try to fuck the constitution and just stay in the job until he dies. i guess democracy was a hell of an experiment. as Burroughs said years ago, humans are the disease. we will fuck anything up given enough chances to do so. what i am really going to love is when 70 million people start bitching that their taxes went up. and what a joy this dystopian nightmare will be with no regulations and no checks and balances.

i will hopefully write some poems tonight. i have a few ready to go and a place in mind to send them.

i need to get going on dinner, so that's all for me today kids...

nothing like 3 1/2 hours of sleep...

sometimes the pain gets to the point where i am simply in my massage chair hoping that it will subside for a bit so i can get some shit done. and eventually, either the ice works or my stubbornness gets to the point where i say fuck it, and i just go. the problem with that is it takes me forever to get things done. like last night, it took me forever just to do one day's worth of dishes. and then going through emails, paying some bills and next thing you know, it is 5:30 in the morning and the plumber will be here at 10. joy.

it looks everything is a go for the kitchen remodel. you have no clue how fucking happy i am going to be to actually have a fucking dishwasher again.

the New Orleans Saints played like shit yesterday and lost at Minnesota, 27-19. when you lose your QB, one of your top WR's and your top CB, it makes for a long, long game. thankfully, the bye week is now.

the New York Rangers won last night at home over Columbus in a shootout, 4-3. considering the Rangers tied the game with 11 seconds to go in the 3rd period, i'll gladly take those 2 points.

the Columbus Crew won last night at home over Atlanta, 4-2, to advance in the MLS playoffs.

the season finale of Power Book IV: Force was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT, as usual.

Shining Vale was fucking hilarious last night.

Fellow Travelers was very good last night.

The Curse was fucking great last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i don't mind being the asshole

yesterday was one of the more frustrating days of my life and that has boiled over to today. and this has nothing to do with sports, even though i would have a good argument to make... mom is in self-sabotage mode and it is really pissing me off. i'm pretty sure she didn't take any of her medicine yesterday and i know for a fact she hasn't taken any of it today. i asked her plainly if this was the way she wants to die? she said no. she had one bite of a grilled cheese sandwich i made her last night. other than that, all she had was the french toast and bacon we had for breakfast. and she has had nothing to eat today. and she wonders why she feels weird, has pissed her pants 5 different times today and doesn't understand what is going on. i told her like she preached to us kids when we were growing up, choices and consequences. so, i'm hoping i can get her to take her damn meds and actually eat something when she wakes up. i told her, when her insurance company comes to do the Medicare checkup and she is out of it mentally, don't blame me when you get taken away somewhere. and to top everything else off, the fucking Highlander has a flat tire. joy.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Nashville, 2-1. they play tonight at home against Arizona.

i did watch some college football games yesterday:

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

the Caverns Sessions last night were excellent.

Saturday Night Live last night was hilarious.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Let The Right One In, The White Lotus and Last Week Tonight.

so, i went out to get the paper this morning and just checked the mailbox because the mail hadn't been delivered when i checked yesterday. sure enough, the mailbox was full and there were two small packages near the front door. those had to have been there since last night. i hate that none of these motherfuckers bother to ring the doorbell to let us know there is a package there. the packages were a nice little gift from Tito's vodka and the baseball cards i ordered from Repacked Wax.

my big plan to have the blog done before Manchester United played this morning went to shit when i didn't wake up until 10 this morning. i did get close to 6 hours of sleep, which considering i was helping mom in the bathroom at 3 in the morning, was nothing short of a minor miracle. back to the game. Christian Eriksen scored his first goal for Manchester United in the first half. Fulham tied the game in the second half. and then, the boy wonder, Alejandro Garnacho, scored at the death for United to win, 2-1.

the New Orleans Saints lost at the Steelers today, 20-10. thankfully, i didn't watch much of the game.

the New York Knicks lost this afternoon at home to the Thunder, 145-135.

the USWNT is playing Germany right now, hoping to avoid their first ever 4 game losing streak. they are currently losing 1-0 in the 30th minute.

i feel like i am over the worst of my cold, though i do break into some coughing fits now and then. i need to pick up some pills at Rite Aid, so i'm hoping they have some cough drops and some NyQuil.

i need to go see if i can get that tire pumped back up, so that's all for me kids.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get back from Rite Aid.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hope your Sunday will be even better.

dos a cero

so, i went into the USA vs. Mexico match last night with high hopes. after the first half, one where Mexico really carried the play, i was hoping the USA would come out on fire. thankfully, they did. they pressed Mexico for most of the second half. and then came on Captain America, Christian Pulisic. about 5 minutes after he came on, he scored. Weston McKinnie got the second goal, and once again, dos a cero was being chanted in the state of Ohio. the USA won the match, 2-0. they are now halfway through World Cup qualifying and they are in first place. the boys are quickly becoming men.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

Back on the Record with Bob Costas was good last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live.

so, my afternoon clusterfuck goes like this. Ohio State plays at 3:30. the Dayton Flyers play at 6. and the New York Rangers play at 7. the doors for the Dayton game will be opening at 4:30. i'll be leaving the house around that time. so, i'm thinking at best, i'll get the see a little of the Ohio State game and the end of the Rangers game.

Ohio State plays at home today against Purdue. Ohio State should know, given the teams Purdue has upset this season, they need to play great today to win.

the Dayton Flyers host UMass Lowell tonight. i'm hoping Dayton shoots better tonight and make this one a laugher.

the New York Rangers play at Columbus tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning.

not enough time...

so, a ton has happened since i was last on here, so let's get this shit show on the road...

the USMNT played a 0-0 draw yesterday against Wales. given the number of new players playing for the USA, i was pretty pleased with how the game went. hopefully they will get a victory against Panama on Monday.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Young Sheldon was funny last night.

B Positive was very funny last night.

The Unicorn was great last night.

Cari & Jemele Won't Stick to Sports was fucking great last night.

Total Bellas was good last night.

Miz & Mrs was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

my sister came down today because she had to go to a viewing. she brought with her the baseball cards she had bought me. i paid her $26 for the 5 boxes and i probably got close to $60 worth of cards out of the boxes. i'm pretty pleased with that. she also helped mom out today, which made me happy.

the shitty thing today was the internet was out here and that threw everything off schedule. i would have loved to have this done way earlier than now.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. Ohio State isn't playing because of the shit show that the coronavirus is doing to this country. i know i need to go find toilet paper sometime tomorrow. oh joy.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i need to get going and get some food ordered for dinner tonight.

by the way, i got the new AC/DC album, POWER UP. easily, their best album since 1990.

so some hearing started today or something...

i'm not that much interested in the impeachment hearings, unless there is a suicide on national television or something that is something i don't already know. it's not that i don't think the asshole that thinks he's king shouldn't be impeached, he should already be in jail for a thousand different fucking things. but, that's not what happens to the rich in this country and probably never will.

i got some poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Nerve Cowboy on my poetry submission from July of 2018. they passed on the five i sent. fuck, i don't even remember writing these, that's how long ago that was. i wrote 7 poems today while mom had physical therapy. i will have plenty to choose from when i send out poems tomorrow morning.

the New York Rangers pissed away a 2-0 lead last night against the Penguins. but thankfully, the kids showed up in OT to give the Rangers a 3-2 victory.

The Voice was good last night. i really didn't have any qualms with who got sent home.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night. the series finale is next week.

the season finale of Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night. the ending left open a season 4, though i have no clue if that is actually happening or not.

Total Divas was good last night.

WWE Backstage was good last night, right up to the end of the show. and then i nearly shit myself when CM Punk's music hit and he walked out. it's been over 5 years since he's been seen on WWE television. apparently, hell has slightly frozen over yet again.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer, NXT, AEW, Cake and the season finale of American Horror Story.

i did watch the ending of the Kentucky vs. Evansville game last night. it's obviously going to be a fucking crazy college basketball season.

it was pretty cold here today, but thankfully no snow or ice or anything.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon, hopefully after getting a slew of poems out into the world.

for the first time in my lifetime

i just watched Italy draw with Sweden, which means Italy will miss the World Cup for the first time since 1958. i think i am in total fucking shock at the moment.

my interview with Marcia Epstein went really well today. she seemed happy with it and i was happy with the poems i got to read, many of them i haven't read before for any recording. the hour we talked really flew by. when that interview comes out, i'll be sure to pass along any and all of the links.
http://lawrencehits.com/wp/blog/series/talk-with-me/

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

the series finale of Vice Principals was great.

the season finale of Last Week Tonight was brilliant last night.

Shameless was excellent last night.

SMILF was a little dirty and very, very good last night.

enjoy music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New Orleans Saints are for real. they whipped Buffalo yesterday in Buffalo, 47-10. the Saints set a team record with 6 rushing touchdowns. they have all the elements of a team that can win in the playoffs; a good defense, a good running game and an elite quarterback. that was their 7th straight win. the last team to lose their first two games and win their next 7 were the 1993 Cowboys, who won the Super Bowl that year. i'm going to try to keep it calm and just go game by game, but i haven't been this excited for the Saints since 2009.

i think mom wants to go out shopping tomorrow. i'm going to try to convince her to do it early so i can be back home to watch the USA men's national team take on Portugal in a friendly tomorrow afternoon. i will probably be on here after that tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i just love some chaos

chaos seems to be a constant theme in this country lately. yesterday, college football decided to get into it. with 3 of the top 4 losing, that means Ohio State will most likely be 2nd in the country. that also means they could be in the awkward position of winning out, not making the Big 10 championship game and still making the Final 4 of college football. ah, fucking chaos.

Ohio State whipped Maryland yesterday 62-3. it was the first time Ohio State ever scored 60 or more points in back to back weeks.

Pittsburgh defeated #2 Clemson on a last second field goal. Iowa did the same to #3 Michigan. and USC defeated #4 Washington last night. 2 of those victories were on the road, even more impressive. now, the funny thing is if Ohio State and Penn St. both win out, Penn St. advances to the Big 10 championship game because of their victory over Ohio State. but, i would think Ohio St. would still be #2 in the polls, so i could honestly see them still making the playoffs for all of college football. chaos, so beautiful.

the New York Rangers got back to winning last night, defeating Calgary 4-1. they got goals from all 4 lines. i love how fucking deep this team is. they play again tonight at Edmonton.

Saturday Night Live was fucking great last night. Dave Chappelle was as funny as i can ever remember him. A Tribe Called Quest was excellent as well. i thought all the sketches were hilarious. it's definitely an episode i'll keep on the DVR.

ROH was great last night.

Austin City Limits was really amazing last night. 2 of my favorite musical acts going; My Morning Jacket and Ben Harper. the episode was so damn good i watched it again this morning.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Divorce, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, Shameless and Masters of Sex.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against Denver. if they can pull out a victory, they will greatly increase their chances of actually making the playoffs this season.

i might actually do a little writing today and figuring out where the next batch of poems will be going to.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

a little sunshine and some basketball

i'm sitting here in the kitchen watching these small birds swarm over the bird feeders and fight for a spot to eat. it's like watching basketball players try to get a rebound. if the dumb shits would take a 20 second flight they would be in the front yard with even more food to choose from. that's the beauty of having a brain the size of the tip of a pen.

the New York Rangers truly impressed me last night. my favorite troll was at it again, The King was standing on his head and the Rangers came away with a 6-3 win over one of the hottest teams in the NHL. that's 7 wins in a row.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty fucking funny last night. if i ever had a woman show up at my door that looked that good and was smart, i'd probably die right on the spot. Life in Pieces was hilarious. that show is perfectly cast.

i did watch some of the football game last night. mom was not happy the Jets lost. neither was i, considering i picked them to win the game. only one of my opponents had players going last night in fantasy football. hopefully i will have a good weekend.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

the Dayton Flyers start their season tonight at home against Southeast Missouri State. i have some pretty high expectations this season for Dayton. i would love to see them make the tournament again as they haven't made it 3 seasons in a row since the 1960's. considering they are the favorites to win the A-10 this season, they have a great chance to do it.

on the DVR tonight while i'm at the basketball game will be Undateable, NJPW, The Knick and the USA men's soccer team first game in World Cup Qualifying. considering who they are playing tonight, if they lose i will go fucking nuts.

now, a little Flashback Friday poetry action. my poems "borrowed time" and "great expectations" were published by Underground Voices back in September of 2012. i thought both poems kind of fit today pretty damn good. you can find them by going here:
http://www.undergroundvoices.com/UVCampbellJJSEPTEMBER2012.htm

i will be on here tomorrow probably in the morning again as Ohio State plays tomorrow at noon.

i hope everyone has a wonderful start to the weekend. have a great Friday night. do something amazing and keep it a secret.

first snowflakes of the season

i went out to feed the cats this afternoon and by the time i got done, it was snowing. nothing more than a light dusting at best, but just to see the flakes in the air made me feel even colder than i was. of course, i was in a flannel coat and shorts...i know winter is basically here now; all the cats were present by my second whistle for the food today. that might make it easier to round them up before we move.

not sure when the big move is going to happen, but i can't imagine this farm will be up for sale for long. and hopefully the buyer is thinking the same thing i'm thinking... this place is worth at least $400,000. if that could happen, my mother and i will be as happy as pigs in shit.

now, given my luck, that light snow was still going on when i had to go into town to get water. thankfully, it wasn't too bad.

i was a little surprised by The Voice last night. not necessarily by whom America voted to keep, but whom the judges saved. i was wrong all 4 times. i suppose that will make the next live shows interesting.

Lucha Underground was really good. the triple threat match was top notch. i really like what i'm seeing with this show.

American Horror Story was great once again.

tonight, the New York Rangers take on Colorado at home. they get back another healthy player, Dan Boyle. he went to college with my sister. hopefully i will be drinking a victory beer later tonight.

also tonight i plan on watching The Big Bang Theory. i'm not planning on watching much of the NFL game tonight. i don't have anyone playing and my opponents only have one guy going.

i finished my "homework" assignment from Janne Karlsson this morning. i sent it on to him and he really liked it. let's just say if this one gets published, i will be grinning ear to ear. my dirty mind had some fun with this one.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. i need to go to the bank tomorrow and team USA has their friendly with Colombia tomorrow afternoon.that should be an interesting one.

my mother was really better today. i can tell she's walking better and is talking better as well. hopefully that means she'll be able to go to the basketball game tomorrow.

that's all for me. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.
