from rain to snow...

i didn't sleep well last night. i took a shower and fell asleep a little after 3 AM. first time i saw the clock it was a little after 6. fuck me. i think i took naps of 20 to 35 minutes until i finally got out of bed around 9. the weather guy on the news last night said that the rainy and snowy weather will be over soon. there is a light at the end of this. i said yeah, it's a fucking train.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night. i feel bad for CM Punk. but, i do love all the possibilities his injury has now set up for WrestleMania.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Inside the NFL and Name That Tune.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against George Washington. hopefully, they will win tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i think we're only supposed to get an inch of snow, so i'm hoping it won't be a mess tomorrow on the roads and in the parking lots.

hard to believe January is almost over.

until tomorrow kids...

what a time to be alive...

so, i waited 7 long years for last night to happen. and honestly, it was worth it. thank fucking god, CM Punk is back in pro wrestling. and every thing he did last night reminded me and hopefully millions of other people why he has always been one of my favorites of all-time.

the Yankees beat the Twins last night, 10-2. hopefully they will win again this afternoon.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night. i am looking forward to SummerSlam tonight.

Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.

so, i did open the baseball cards last night. it was a value box of 2021 Topps Allen & Ginter. i got a good number of rookies and some really nice cards in it. i haven't seen any values on them yet, but i'm pretty sure it will be worth more than what i paid for them.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits. i will be watching WWE SummerSlam for most of the evening on Peacock.

i guess we're going to have pizza tonight from Pizza Hut. mom wanted me to order one last night, but i thought tonight would be better.

i need to go up to Kroger at some point today and get my test strips for checking my blood sugar.

i'll do that after i take a shower.

i also need to vacuum the house today.

i'm guessing i will watch plenty of baseball and soccer this afternoon.

i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Southampton.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

choking on nostalgia can be dangerous...

i haven't slept well at all this week. i'm sure it has to do with the stress i'm having for my procedure next week (which i still haven't got any fucking paperwork for). i was driving to get gas this morning and a song came on the radio that the girlfriend i had when i was 27 decided that it was "our" song. holy shit, that was a flood of fucking emotions coming back. after getting the gas, nearly $30 worth, i had to go to Rite-Aid to get some stuff. and of course, the vitamins mom wanted weren't there. joy.

i wrote 12 poems today while mom was doing her physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. i really like a few of them. i think i have written over 30 now in November.

the Dayton Flyers won last night against Nebraska Omaha 93-68. it was probably the best defense i have seen them play in a long time. and Dayton can really score. i'm not going to be surprised when they put over 100 points on someone this season. and they still haven't had all their players healthy yet. easily the deepest Dayton team in years.

the USMNT defeated Cuba last night, 4-0, to win the group and advance to the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Nations League. i think they will play Honduras in June or something like that.

the series finale of The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking great last night.

The Voice was good last night. i have no objections over the two that got eliminated.

Total Divas was good last night.

WWE Backstage was excellent last night. CM Punk can still cut the best damn promo of anyone in his generation.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer, NXT and AEW.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Washington. i'd love to see the Rangers end their losing streak tonight, but i'm not expecting it, that's for sure.

i'm hoping mom's new glasses and/or walker will arrive before Thanksgiving.

i don't think i have any plans tomorrow, so i'll probably be on here in the afternoon.

that's all for me kids. i need to go ice down my aching back.

until tomorrow...

so some hearing started today or something...

i'm not that much interested in the impeachment hearings, unless there is a suicide on national television or something that is something i don't already know. it's not that i don't think the asshole that thinks he's king shouldn't be impeached, he should already be in jail for a thousand different fucking things. but, that's not what happens to the rich in this country and probably never will.

i got some poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Nerve Cowboy on my poetry submission from July of 2018. they passed on the five i sent. fuck, i don't even remember writing these, that's how long ago that was. i wrote 7 poems today while mom had physical therapy. i will have plenty to choose from when i send out poems tomorrow morning.

the New York Rangers pissed away a 2-0 lead last night against the Penguins. but thankfully, the kids showed up in OT to give the Rangers a 3-2 victory.

The Voice was good last night. i really didn't have any qualms with who got sent home.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night. the series finale is next week.

the season finale of Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night. the ending left open a season 4, though i have no clue if that is actually happening or not.

Total Divas was good last night.

WWE Backstage was good last night, right up to the end of the show. and then i nearly shit myself when CM Punk's music hit and he walked out. it's been over 5 years since he's been seen on WWE television. apparently, hell has slightly frozen over yet again.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Masked Singer, NXT, AEW, Cake and the season finale of American Horror Story.

i did watch the ending of the Kentucky vs. Evansville game last night. it's obviously going to be a fucking crazy college basketball season.

it was pretty cold here today, but thankfully no snow or ice or anything.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon, hopefully after getting a slew of poems out into the world.

15 long years

it's hard to believe it's been 15 years since 9/11 happened. it fucking feels like it's been 30. what should have been a moment in the history of this country to bring us together was pissed away and manipulated to where we are more divided than ever 15 years later. there is no point in applying blame. ALL of us are at fault.

the New York Yankees kept the train rolling yesterday, winning 5-1. they are now just 3 games out of first place in the division. i never thought any of this was going to happen when they were "sellers" at the trade deadline. they have done the unthinkable, actually make me give a shit about baseball this season. they go for another sweep this afternoon.

Ohio State started off slow against Tulsa and i figured they were looking ahead to Oklahoma next week. and then the rain started and suddenly the defense was brilliant. the offense did better in the second half, but it was really the defense that carried the entire team yesterday. a nice 48-3 ass whooping.

i did watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens last night. i can see why so many people liked it. it certainly made me feel like a kid again.

i followed UFC 203 on the computer last night. i was under no delusions that CM Punk was going to win last night. i was hoping he would last longer than 2 minutes, but, shit happens. props to him for being bold enough to follow a dream when EVERYONE told him he was a fucking fool for doing so.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Lip Sync Battle, Ballers, Vice Principals, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and The Strain. i'll be watching WWE Backlash for most of the evening on WWE Network.

the New Orleans Saints start the season at home against an Oakland Raiders team i expect to be much better this season. hopefully not today though.

i'm projected to lose both of my fantasy football matches today, so i won't give too much of a shit while watching today.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

and it feels like it's 100 out here

here is part of the reason i insist on making all my bank transactions in person, instead of online. the joy of driving up to the bank right as a drug deal goes down is always interesting. standing in line behind the guy who just bought the drugs is a poem in itself. watching him struggle to come up with small talk because, as a white guy, i always run to the cops when i see shit... that was hilarious. i simply played like i saw nothing mostly because, i don't give a shit. i'm not one of those people that think i should be doing the cops job for them. they are employed for a reason. also, growing up in a black community, you learn pretty quick that there are some cops you can talk to and be cool with and some are dirty as fuck and will fuck over anyone, no matter their race, to get ahead. none of this shit could be learned or enjoyed with an online transaction. so, sure it was hot as fuck and the car has shitty air conditioning, but it was worth it.

the New York Yankees won yesterday, 5-3. they tried their hardest to give it away, but thankfully the bullpen came through. they play against Toronto again tonight at home.

Monday Night Raw was not good last night. i did enjoy that Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens are going to be feuding, but other than that, the show was shit.

the finale of the UFC documentary on CM Punk last night was pretty interesting. it's funny to think that his first fight in the UFC will be in the same arena where he quit the WWE. that should be very interesting.

the game last night between Florida State and Ole Miss was like two different games. Ole Miss was great in the first half. but, Florida State came out in the second half on fire and simply blew them the fuck away. Florida State won 45-34.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown, Hard Knocks and Atlanta.

USA men's soccer team plays Trinidad and Tobago tonight. a win gives them the group and a meeting with Mexico in the cold, sometime in November. that game would probably be in Columbus. hopefully i'm enjoying a victory tonight.

i guess Sunday took much more out mom than she thought it would. so, i have to take her back to the chiropractor on Thursday. i'm hoping she starts to feel better soon.

i've got the trash all picked up, so i think i'm going to go take a shower. enjoy the visual.

the holidays always bring out the weirdos

i've been contacted by 3 people out of the blue this morning. 3 complete fucking strangers. i've already busted one as trying to scam me. i'm working on a second one posing as a general in Syria. he has the decency to actually pose as a Christian as well. ok, just nailed him. you would think one day these stupid fuckers would realize i will not fall for this stupid shit. the third one says she is a student and model in London. i'm waiting for when she asks me for money. it will happen, i have seen it for years now. it's beyond fucking rare anymore to find an "actual" person on the internet that wants to have a conversation and not just weasel some money out of you.

so, welcome to my Labor Day. hopefully yours has started better.

the New York Yankees got a huge victory yesterday, 5-2, avoiding a sweep in Baltimore. they are back home this afternoon playing against Toronto. they really need to start stringing together victories if they want to stay in contention for the playoffs. sadly, every team they play (except for Tampa) are playing for the playoffs as well for the rest of the season.

that game between Notre Dame and Texas last night was an instant classic. Texas won in 50-47 in 2OT.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. this will be the last week in the house for James or Natalie.

Power last night was excellent. the shit is getting really good now.

The Strain was fucking great last night. the ending was certainly very interesting.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the final part of the CM Punk UFC documentary. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening. i will probably check out the Florida State vs. Ole Miss game as well.

mom did pretty well yesterday. of course, she's paying for it today. we went to the local grocery store and she got some things she wanted. i think took her to this chicken place as she had been talking about wanting chicken for the last two days. so, there was lunch and dinner yesterday. this morning she feels a little drained. hopefully the muscle relaxers help her.

i was thrilled to see who the latest person to commit to the University of Dayton to play basketball was. you can never go wrong with 6 foot 11. welcome to Dayton, Jordan Pierce.

Kevin Owens is my spirit animal

last night was one of those nights that the little kid in me remembers exactly why i love professional wrestling. Monday Night Raw was pretty good up until the main event. the spots with Bayley and The New Day were fun and i can definitely see them doing more of that in the future. i loved that they were giving the main event plenty of time. Big Cass, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens all looked great in the match. i don't think any of them will come out of this as a "loser". Cass was eliminated first, which made total sense. near the end of the match, HHH came out of nowhere and destroyed Roman Reigns. that makes sense because of what happened at WrestleMania. then, just as it looked like HHH was going to help Seth Rollins win the title, here comes the swerve. HHH hits Seth Rollins with his finisher and lets Kevin Owens win the title. kudos to KO for the absolute look of shock on his face during all of this. this sets up so many possible things. but, at least for one night, the WWE made me feel like a happy child once again.

the New York Yankees lost last night 8-5. shitty pitching early and the offense showed up too late. not a recipe for winning. they play again tonight.

part 3 of the CM Punk UFC documentary last night was good. i'd love to find my AJ Lee somewhere on this earth.

i did a little poetry work yesterday, mostly figuring out what i'm going to send where in the next day or so. more on that by the end of the week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Hard Knocks.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links to them down in the music section.

i have to take mom to get her blood work done today. and then this afternoon i take her to the chiropractor. sometime after that i have to get the trash picked up here and next door. and it's only supposed to be hotter than fuck once again here today. good times.

i hope everyone has a great day. take it easy and then take it again.

what a joy it is to have a face that scares children

i don't mind the stares, i don't mind the passing looks, but i do find it hilarious that i have had 3 children in the last 2 days look at me and start to cry. i'm obviously doing something right.

the New York Yankees pissed away a good game on offense with some shitty middle relief pitching to lose 7-5 last night in Seattle. Gary Sanchez did become the first Yankees rookie to have 8 home runs in his first 19 games. that's something DiMaggio, Mantle, etc. never did. the kid is fucking amazing. hopefully they find some middle relief pitching that is amazing as well. they play again tonight.

Monday Night Raw was interesting last night. Finn Balor had to give up the Universal Championship because of injury. he'll be out 6 months because of shoulder surgery. i feel so damn bad for him. next week they will crown the new champ in a fatal 4 way (Rollins vs. Reigns vs. Big Cass vs. Owens). i'd love to see KO win it. The Dudley Boyz called it a career last night. thankfully, they passed the torch to Gallows and Anderson and went through the table. what i'll probably remember the most from last night was Bayley finally making her Raw debut. it's long overdue. all in all, not a bad show.

i did watch the first five episodes of Holy Foley last night on WWE Network. it's more or less like most of their "reality" shows, cringe worthy bad with a few sprinkles of great. i did enjoy all the time with Becky Lynch and how emotional Mick Foley got when seeing the Hell in a Cell cage in WWE storage. that is one of the biggest HOLY SHIT moments in the history of professional wrestling.

i also watched the first two episodes of the CM Punk documentary the UFC did. i admire Punk for doing this. i wish he was this open during his wrestling career. hopefully he will do well and shut up all the fucking critics.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Hard Knocks.

the pain pills seem to be working on mom already. i did notice that she seems to be walking better as well. so hopefully she's on the way to getting better.

and then reality sets in...

yesterday went pretty good, all things considered. i only got into it with my sister once. i benched the right players in fantasy football (except for you, you asshole Tony Romo). and, there was a ton of shit removed from the house to take to Goodwill. that should make the move a little easier.

my mother and sister are out and about at the moment. hopefully my mother remembers to take it easy and don't get stressed. being with my sister, i'm not sure that's possible.

i did get about 90% of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. hopefully it all gets here in one piece. with all the gift cards and codes, i think i spent around $100. not too bad. i'm thinking of what to come up with for my fans and friends. i'm toying with doing some watercolors and cutting them up into a puzzle. if i do anything, all that will be going out in early December.

i did hear back from The Kitchen Poet on my poetry submission from back in August. they decided to pass as they are too backlogged at the moment. so, now i really have a nice size batch of poems to go through for the next round of submissions.

i got 2 of the 3 football games wrong yesterday. thankfully, those games don't count in the one pick 'em i play for money.

the New York Rangers start a home and home against Philly this afternoon. the hot rumor at the moment is the Rangers will be getting their captain back today. if so, that will go a LONG way to solving their defensive problems. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer this afternoon.

i do plan on getting most of my poetry work done this afternoon as i will have no fucking time this weekend to do it.

sorry to cut this short, but i have a ton of trash to get out of the house, cats to feed, and a fantasy hockey roster to go check.

of course, i could go on bitching forever about the baseboard heaters that stopped working this morning in our great room.

by the way, i did FINALLY get to listen to the CM Punk interview yesterday with Colt Cabana. if the WWE's medical staff really did allow him to wrestle with a staph infection for 3 months, they all should be fired. and i'm really happy that Punk has found happiness and is free from the bullshit of the company. hopefully i get to see him in a ring one day again, but if it never happens, he left me with some great fucking memories. and honestly, i think he'll have more fun writing comic books than battling sloppy wrestlers.

ok, now i'm finished. thanks again to all 3 of you for allowing me to waste your precious time. i hope everyone has a great weekend.

sometimes you just get oblivious to the cold

thankfully, this latest holy shit storm went more to the south than the jackasses on tv thought it would, so we only got like 3 inches of snow. now, it did get cold again, as the windchill this morning was around -15. that's always fun. honestly, i've been dealing with the winter for so damn long now, i'm oblivious to it. shit, i expect it now.

i did watch the last 30 minutes or so of The Oscars last night. i'm really happy i did as it inspired 3 poems i wrote in like 10 minutes. i typed those up this afternoon and they are oh so good. at least i think so. i'll be sending those out soon.

seeing that the New York Rangers disappointed the living shit out of me last night (6-3 loss to Boston), i decided to stop watching the game and just flip on HBO. True Detective was fucking brilliant once again. i have no clue how they are going to tie up all the loose ends in next week's finale. if you aren't watching this show, you truly are missing out. Girls made me laugh really hard as i truly enjoy the topic of death and how uncomfortable it makes others.

as for television tonight, it is my usual Monday war between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. Raw is in Chicago tonight, the home of CM Punk. the fans are plotting a riot if Punk, who left the company last month, doesn't show up. i'd love to see him back but, i'd also love to see the crowd go berserk. whatever happens, it should be great train wreck tv. as for The Voice, i see me catching up on that on YouTube at 4 in the morning or so.

i was happy to see some spring training baseball on this afternoon. that gave me what i needed to nap for a few hours. good times.

hopefully, nothing i melted today on the sidewalks will refreeze come morning. i got a check in the mail today, so there is a trip to the bank coming up soon. also, got my new credit card from Capital One. i'll finally be getting some cash back on my purchases. not that i buy anything more than music, books, gas, and booze.

i took another step into the digital world last night and got on iTunes. i figured i might as well put the gift card i got to use. of course, i haven't used it yet. baby steps.

that is all for me today. i hope everyone is well, warm, pissed off and ready to do something about it. or curious why you still waste your time each day to read this horseshit i call writing.

be well my enemies...

the wicked wind...

the wind has been absolutely brutal today. from blowing the trash from the assholes across the road onto our property and halfway up the damn lane, to blowing the barn doors open twice after i finally got them shut, to knocking my mother down as she was trying to leave the house this morning. hopefully this shit will become a breeze or less in the next few hours.

i'm amazed i'm still going. i think i'm running on something around 3 hours of sleep. and i didn't take a nap this afternoon. i should be nice and cranky by this evening. and if i don't get some decent sleep tonight, i can just imagine the grouch i will be tomorrow during my eye appointment. i'll get to see how bad my eyes really are now. my worries are it is time for bifocals. 37 going on 70.

after doing the dishes today and figuring out what song i heard on the radio while i was doing them (Lipbone Redding - The Love You Save) i settled in for the latest WTF podcast. i was totally geeked for this one as CM Punk was the guest. as a huge wrestling fan, most of the shit discussed i already knew. i did get some unknown behind the scenes details from his huge promo a few years ago. that was really cool. i highly recommend giving it a listen.

other than that, today has been a day of music and porn. was hoping something would trigger some words falling out of me onto a page today... instead all my thoughts ended up in a towel.

tonight will be the usual hodgepodge of Monday Night Raw and The Voice. not exactly sure which will get the majority of my attention.

i should watch some of the NFL game tonight, but i know damn well i probably won't until real late. i'm still a little disgusted with fantasy football at the moment. thankfully, my fantasy hockey team is still rolling. first place overall in the league over on ESPN.com. hopefully that will continue.

that's pretty much all for me today. i'm off to go waste some time putting needless shit on my Amazon.com wish list. hope this finds everyone well, or at least well enough.

peace and chicken grease.

new month same fog

when i woke up this morning you couldn't see the corn, which is less than 50 feet from the house. to say it was foggy would be a huge understatement. i was shocked that i didn't hear about any major accidents or anything. the fog didn't really burn off until 11 am.

had a long, heartbreaking conversation with an old friend this morning. not an easy position for me to be in as i'm basically unable to offer much help and what little i can do isn't being accepted. oh well. hopefully my old friend finds the right spot in the world for themselves. they deserve at least that much.

i enjoyed what i got to see of The Voice last night. i was flipping between baseball and wrestling. but the voices i did get to hear i enjoyed. i'll be paying a little closer attention this evening. emphasis on little.

Monday Night Raw was great last night. kudos to CM Punk for even having me fooled that he injured himself. easy to see why he's my 3rd favorite of all time. all the storylines advanced pretty well going into the ppv this Sunday. they (the creative team) have at the very least kept me interested in what's going on. been awhile since i was at that level.

i did go through some poems this morning and came up with 12 i'll be sending out later this week. i've got 3 places in mind.

a big thank you to Drew Brees for his outstanding performance last night, which allowed me to win both of my fantasy football matches.

the NHL regular season starts this evening. say hello again to the sport i have the most passion about. and if any of my new readers think my rants about baseball are something, wait until the New York Rangers go on a losing streak. only 3 games this evening. i'll be watching bits and pieces, as of course, i have some fantasy players going tonight.

i imagine i will be writing on this again after the Manchester United game tomorrow. hopefully while enjoying a victory beer.

i won a $100 voucher for some wine last night. of course, it was one of those where i had to spend $160 to be able to use the voucher. so, in a week or so, my alcoholism will become a bit more sophisticated.

and speaking of that word, can you think of a better christmas gift than my book Sofisticated White Trash. get your copy today.

plenty of music to get to today. hope this finds everyone well.

when the air makes it feel like you are wearing a sweater

summer is back with a vengeance i suppose with how this whole week looks like. humid as fuck. upper 80's to 90's. and i have to mow the grass. everyone wish me luck with my impending heat stroke.

the Yankees managed to snap their 10 game winning streak against Toronto last night. hopefully the team decides that after 13 losses for Phil Hughes, it might be time for him to come out of the rotation. they play again tonight. i imagine i will torture myself, at least until 10.

that's when Hard Knocks comes on HBO. considering this episode will cover a loss and some more cuts to the roster, it should be really good.

Monday Night Raw was excellent. the promo that AJ Lee gave destroying all the divas on Total Divas was perfect. the work of CM Punk, Paul Heyman, and Daniel Bryan continued to be top notch. another night where 3 hours really flew by.

saw a few more cats today when i fed them. i guess there must be a storm coming.

decided i would pass on watching the Champions League today and just listen to music and watch porn. i haven't checked the scores yet to see if i missed anything or not. i will be watching tomorrow though.

i've had the injury bug already hit my fantasy football team. the fucking season hasn't even started yet. not good.

that's pretty much all for today. i think i'm going to hop in the shower and get this damn humidity off of me.

beer, cartoons, ragweed, poems, and whatever else i can think of before i go insane

where do i begin?

i was supposed to write a poem yesterday for the artist in Sweden. but, the ragweed kicked my ass yesterday as the guy that farms out here decided to mow the fields for the first time in 2 months. the headache i had basically rendered me useless. but, i did manage to write that poem today and email it out. Janne likes it and of course, emailed me more. so, i have 3 more to write later this week. he also sent me a cartoon he did over one of the posts in this blog. i laughed my ass off when i saw it and thought i would have to share it with all of you.

just got done watching game one of the Yankees doubleheader. Nova had a shit 2nd inning and the Yankees fell behind 4-0. then, Cano decided to get his 200th HR and Chris "let me just close my eyes and swing and holy shit i hit something" Stewart hit a go ahead HR. a few more tack on runs and the Yankees win 8-4. hopefully this takes the pressure off of Hughes this evening and he gets the job done. i'm making sure i enjoy my victory beer now rather than waiting.

also this afternoon i watched a little Champions League soccer between PSV and AC Milan. 1-1 draw. PSV is so young but so good as well, i wouldn't be shocked if the big clubs come sniffing for some of that young talent before too long.

Monday Night Raw last night was excellent and took a decent step in setting up the story lines for the next PPV. it's obvious that Randy Orton is playing the role of The Rock, when he was the corporation champ for Vince and company, while Daniel Bryan is playing the role of Stone Cold. they might have to tweak it a bit along the way as Daniel can't do what Stone Cold could, but he's one of the best workers in the world. pair him with some good guys and watch the money flow in. as for my favorite CM Punk, the highlight last night was him ripping a fan in the first row a new asshole for interrupting him. he is one of the best talkers ever and when you combine that with his in ring ability and the ability to sell, top 5 of all time.

tonight will be a little baseball before i flip over to HBO to watch Hard Knocks. and i would love to fit in a shower somewhere and a long one at that. maybe that will get me out of this funk, literally.

that's all for today. i do hope this finds everyone well, drunk, fucking something pretty or at the very least, dreaming about it.

just another Monday

let me peel back the onion a bit and give you a glimpse into my day. i'm out feeding the cats and i suddenly have the need to shit. do i go in the kitty litter? do i hold it and get back inside? i'm not an animal, so i made it back inside. and after a huge movement, just as i'm getting up from the bowl, i sneeze. and the sure force of the sneeze produces more shit falling right out of me. do you laugh? do you wonder how you can make this a poem? both? if you chose C, you are correct. why am i still single?

i did catch bits and pieces of the Yankees game last night. i'd like to thank those dumb asses in Boston for hitting A-Rod and waking up his teammates. hopefully this is the light bulb for the rest of the season. 9-6 win after being down 6-3 before A-Rod's response to getting hit. off today and then a doubleheader tomorrow. i'd love to sweep that doubleheader, but Phil Hughes is starting one of those games. my fingers are crossed for a split.

the shows last night were excellent. The Newsroom was brilliant. i can't wait to see what happens in the next episode. Ray Donovan was really good as well. Total Divas was probably the funniest episode of the season so far.

i did see the results of Summerslam last night. i'm a little disappointed but not dismayed. if the payoff to what happened last night is more CM Punk A+ matches and a huge feud between Orton, HHH, and Daniel Bryan... i'm all for it. i will definitely be tuned in to Monday Night Raw tonight to see what happens next.

i got 3 more cartoons and another illustration i need to write a poem for from my artist friend in Sweden today. i'm holding off on putting out the 3 cartoons until i hear back from the publisher i've contacted. i'd love for a book to come out with a ton of material that no one has seen before.

i did watch a little bit of Manchester City this afternoon. once their opponent got down to 10 men, i didn't bother to watch anymore. i hate to say it, but they looked good.

that's pretty much all for today... until tomorrow.

a lesson in self loathing

today was the epitome of wasting a day. i woke up this morning in a decent mood. got some sleep. the humidity has finally broken, so it was almost comfortable this morning. after about 20 minutes online, that's when the news got to me. one of the former loves of my life is back with the same piece of shit that would fuck her over and send her crying to me. instead of having the attitude of oh well, it became a shit on me day of what is wrong with me. it's funny, i think about what my friend Jack told me when i was 17. we were walking the streets of the Oregon District in downtown Dayton and he said that how i take things, so deeply personal and intensely, i could be nothing but a poet. i laughed at the time and here i am 20 years later a poet. congrats Jack, you were correct.

i know this is one of my bullshit processes that i go through during these moments in my life. sadly, i feel like the process is necessary as i'm 37 years old and single, with absolutely no possible relationship on the horizon (unless someone is planning on surprising me)(please). i also have had the misfortune to seriously consider suicide more times in my life than i have had a member of the opposite sex who wasn't related to me say "i love you" and actually mean it. way more. so this analytical bullshit tends to get me through all of this without injuring myself too badly.

so, spending five hours on the internet today shitting on myself while watching horrible porn is all part of the process. not necessarily healthy, but part of it. i know in a day or two, this will all be fuel to write with. i just wish the next two days of self loathing didn't need to happen. but, i look at it as the trade off for being a genius. i get to be fucked in the head. great.

off of my soapbox now...

the Yankees won last night, 2-1. first time they have won 2 games in a row in a month. hopefully tonight will be 3.

Monday Night Raw was excellent, mostly because of the segments involving CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. and RVD winning the battle royal.

i'm hoping the Yankees game is over by the time Hard Knocks comes on HBO this evening.

cat update:

my cat Tolstoy has reappeared. no visible signs of fighting or whatnot. also, while doing a little check of the boxes, igloos, etc. the cats sleep in, i found 2 kittens. probably no more than 2 weeks old at best. can't wait to tell mom that news. i pretty much know who the father is. the cat John Prine will fuck anything that moves. i don't know who the mother is. i guess i'll need to figure that out later this week.

that's all. i guess i should check my email now.

just another day in the 937

i just love waking up before the crack of dawn and watch Manchester United lose. just fucking great. i did figure this would be one of the tougher games of the pre-season tour. they played a side that is in mid-season form and it showed in the second half. a 3-2 loss. second loss of the tour. i'm sure a good number of fans are jumping off bridges. they tend to forget the number of times the team struggled in the pre-season under Sir Alex. that being said, i do hope Moyes gets some fresh blood on the team soon. they need it badly.

it was a pretty dense fog this morning. and the sun burned that off and has created quite the weather show this afternoon. a blazing sun to hail and thunder to more blazing sun. felt bad for the tree trimmers the power company sent out here. the hail came as they were trimming back some branches.

i didn't watch much of the Yankees last night and apparently i didn't miss much. they only had 3 hits in yet another loss. and then the news this morning that they are on the verge of bringing back Alfonso Soriano. sure, why not. he's 37 and on the downside of his career. he'll fit in great with all the other retreads on the team. part of me wishes they would tank the season and blow up the team. the other part of me wishes The Boss was still alive and running the show. this shit wouldn't have happened like this this season.

Monday Night Raw was excellent once again. when you have a final hour dominated by CM Punk and Daniel Bryan you can't go wrong. always funny to see guys wrestling against each other in 2013 (Bryan vs. Cesaro) when you can remember the same match around 2004 in ROH (Danielson vs. Castagnoli). i give the WWE credit though, make the last hour great and you tend to forget if you were bored or not in the first two hours.

i figure tonight i will give my usual glance to the Yankees until they piss me off and then i'll turn to Deadliest Catch for the rest of the evening.

i did a little shopping on Amazon.com today. the usual mix of music that should never go together: metal, techno and folk. but always nice when you can get 12 CD's at around $7 each.

for those of you keeping score, out of the 16 poems i sent out on July 7th, 8 of them have been accepted and/or published. i tend to look at these stats like a baseball batting average. and anytime i can bat .500 i know i'm doing pretty damn good.

that's all for today. i figure i better sign off before the internet goes out AGAIN.

one of the days where humidity is spelled with a capital H

i went out to feed the cats and 10 minutes later i was drenched with sweat. i believe the humidity was higher than the temperature. something close to what i have always imagined hell to be like. it was so bad i went inside and shaved for the first time in weeks. and taking a shower with no water softener is someplace on the second level of hell i guess.

went on a little trip to Indiana to do some shopping with my mother. i actually found some music at Best Buy that i wanted. luckily, i had some gift cards from Christmas left. so, you'll be seeing some new names pop up at the end of these posts in the next few days.

after that, we came back to our rural cluster fuck of a town and ate at Waffle House. funny, all of the damn times i've been to these places all over this country and i have never ordered a waffle once. and i still haven't.

i'm really shocked that the Miami Heat are incapable of playing 2 solid games in a row. it should make game 6 interesting tomorrow night.

tonight is a split television night for me. first night of The Voice finale and a Monday Night Raw that should be interesting. i'm really interested to see what songs the final 3 choose. i figure which one connects best with the audience at home will win. not the best performer necessarily, but the best one at tugging on the strings of emotion. as for wrestling, CM Punk is back, so that means i will pay a bit more attention to the product again. should be a fun night.

i will give a glancing view or two to some hockey as well. this series has seven games written all over it. and hopefully all seven of them go to overtime.

congrats to the muse on getting her NIN tickets. glad to see some dreams come true for a change.

i wrote 3 poems last night. after typing them up today i feel pretty good about them. not sure if any of them are blow me away winners but, my opinion isn't the one that matters. i imagine i will be sending them out in a week or so. hopefully i have a few more that need to get out of my head soon.

i really hope the plumbers show up early and get the new water softener in without any problems tomorrow morning. and by early, i mean something around 8 am. so i can brush my teeth with something other than iron water.

oh what a night

i might have watched 30 seconds or so of The Voice. and maybe a minute or two of Monday Night Raw (which might continue to happen with no CM Punk) but nearly every damn second of game 7 between the New York Rangers vs. Washington Capitals.

the Caps came out on fire but The King stood on his head. and when the Rangers scored their first goal, i felt really damn good. when the second period onslaught came of 2 goals in about 2 minutes and the building was silent, i was beyond proud. and then to see the mass exodus when the Rangers added their 5th goal, i was down right giddy. Henrik Lundqvist became only the 4th goalie in playoff history to post shutouts in game 6 and 7. and the stat that made me really smile, Derick Brassard had more points in the series than Washington's top line combined. next up are the Boston Bruins. first time they have faced each other in 40 years in the playoffs. nothing like some good ole Boston vs. New York hate. highlights from last night are below.

this was also the first time in Rangers history they have won a game 7 on the road in the playoffs.

so after watching the press conferences and highlights and the end of the Memphis vs. Oklahoma City NBA playoff game, i watched the Big C. last night's episode really got to me as it brought back plenty of memories of when we took my stepfather to hospice.

then a quick check of my email and i get an instant message from a friend i hadn't heard from in almost a year. that eventually turned into a phone call that went to 4 am. so why i was up just 4 hours later is still a  fucking mystery to me. i'll be off mowing grass here in a few hours. it's not going to be fun as parts of it is over a foot high.

and of course there's a chance for more rain in a few days. makes me think about the yard i saw in Fort Myers, Florida as a child. concrete painted green. oh how i wish.
