so, mom called me from the kitchen around noon today and said we had no water. i looked online to see if there was a water main break or something. there was one in a town a few miles from us but that shouldn't be affecting us. i then asked her if she paid the bill. she was quiet. she couldn't find her password to get online to see her statement. so, i made her a new password for it and sure enough, the bill hadn't been paid. so, i immediately paid it and she called the water department. apparently, the bill was due November 8th. that was twenty fucking days ago. so, i told her this afternoon that i am taking over everything so this shit doesn't happen again. i have tried to do this before but she hasn't relented her control on shit. but, when she realized she hadn't paid the bill her response was well, another reason to leave the earth. so, yeah. i am trying to juggle her anxiety, depression, anger and her oncoming blindness all at the same time. i am hoping she will see that allowing me to control the finances will take a huge burden off of her and she can live without trying to remember shit while not being able to see clearly what she is trying to pay online. what happens most of the time is she doesn't realize that she has signed up for paperless billing and then doesn't think twice when a bill never comes in the mail. have i mentioned how i hate this time of year?
i did get my Christmas shopping done last night. i hope mom likes what i got her. if any of you want to be on my Christmas card list, be sure to send me your mailing address by or around December 1st.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Buffalo, 5-1.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
The Voice was very good last night. tonight is the last night of the playoffs. the live shows start next week.
Monday Night Raw was excellent last night:
i didn't watch any of the NFL game last night. judging from the highlights, i didn't miss much.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Inside the NFL, Name That Tune, The Voice and Hard Knocks.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. that will also be after Manchester United plays a MUST WIN game in the Champions League tomorrow in Turkey.
i need to get all the trash picked up and figure out what is for dinner.

so, i had to take my mother to her heart doctor today. she left them a message this morning. she called me out to the kitchen while i was eating my breakfast and asked me when i could take her to the doctor. i chose the latest time they offered as i knew this was going to become a production. and i was right. thankfully, we made it there under the 15 minute late grace period they have. mom got her heart medicine figured out. so, i am hoping she won't feel like she is passing out when she takes it now.
yesterday at the World Cup, Spain and Germany finished 1-1. today, Cameroon and Serbia finished 3-3, Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2, Brazil defeated Switzerland 1-0 thanks to a goal from Casemiro and Portugal defeated Uruguay 2-0 thanks to 2 goals from Bruno Fernandes. tomorrow starts the final stages of group play. Ecuador will play Senegal and Netherlands will face Qatar in Group A. in Group B, Wales takes on England and Iran faces USA. the USA MUST win to advance to the knockout rounds.
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at the 49ers, 13-0. it was the first time the Saints have been shutout in over 20 years.
the New York Knicks lost yesterday at home to Memphis, 127-123.
here are your NBA highlights from yesterday:
the Howard Stern interview with Bruce Springsteen last night was fucking great.
The White Lotus was hilarious last night.
Let The Right One In was really good last night.
Ziwe was fucking funny as hell last night.

i did listen to episode 423 of Notsam Wrestling today. you can hear that by going here:
i think Area Agency on Aging is coming out here tomorrow. mom tried to get a hold of them for years but i guess the one good thing to come out of her brief stay at the nursing home is this. hopefully she will get some answers to the questions she has.
i should be on here tomorrow after the USA vs. Iran game is over. i am really hoping i will be in a good mood. i haven't seen one of my sports teams win in forever it feels like.
speaking of that, the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the New Jersey Devils.

at least i am getting better at handling my anger. i was given plenty of practice yesterday as Ohio State shit the bed against that shit school up north. Ohio State lost 42-27. much like Ryan Day said after the game, it was a failure. the defense couldn't stop a fucking cold yesterday. and when you give up 5 rushing touchdowns to one player, you deserve to lose. i'm not sure which bowl game they will be playing in. i just know it isn't one that i wanted to see them in.
i did watch some boxing last night. i also helped mom with her laundry. today is going to be my laundry day.
i also did some small business shopping online yesterday. i always try to help the small businesses that have been good to me over the years. so, i should have plenty of baseball cards coming my way in the next few weeks.

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, Dexter: New Blood, Yellowjackets, Power Book II: Ghost, Hightown, Succession, Insecure and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
the New York Rangers were supposed to be playing tonight but the league postponed the game since the Islanders are going through a COVID outbreak. this is the second time this season the Rangers have had a game postponed.
the Dayton Flyers will be playing Belmont today for the championship of that tournament they are playing in in Orlando.
Manchester United plays today at Chelsea. i don't have my hopes up for a win today, although i would love to see United shock the shit out of me today.

so, late last night i found out that the Ohio State game at Illinois today was canceled. and then this morning, i found out that Dayton's season opener against Alcorn St. has been canceled due to a positive test on Alcorn St. this is going to be one of the more frustrating years for being a fan. hell, between the NFL, college sports and everything else, i have no damn clue what i'll be watching until a few hours before everything is supposed to begin. and of course, since most people are slaves to capitalism in this country, everything has to keep going. an endless cycle of greed.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.
my sister left this morning to go back home. she found out while she was here that one of her close friends has tested positive. thankfully, she hasn't been around her anytime lately.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. i hope you have a great day.
the Dayton Flyers lost to Kansas yesterday in OT, 90-84. while i am very happy that they took the #4 team in the country to overtime, i'm still going to think of this as a missed opportunity. the refs did them no favors, that's for sure. but, Dayton's coach had his head up his ass in OT. Kansas ran the same fucking play the entire 5 minutes. Dayton made no adjustments. and please, anyone on earth tell me, how the fuck does your best player (Obi Toppin) not get one fucking shot off in overtime? https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/anthony-grant-dayton-flyers-gave-everything-they-had-maui-invitational-championship/m9UFPdu4jimSjlVxxofYEK/

NXT was really good last night.
AEW was really good last night as well.

nothing on the DVR tonight. i do plan on watching NXT UK sometime this afternoon.
the New Orleans Saints play tonight at Atlanta. if the Saints win, they will clinch a playoff spot i do believe. so, i really hope that happens tonight.
Manchester United plays later this morning in the Europa League. they took a very young traveling squad with them, so i'm really interested to see how the kids play.
i'm sure i'll watch some football today, probably some college basketball and no parades. simply not a fan.
mom made a breakfast casserole this morning. it was really good. my sister is going to one of the cousin's house for Thanksgiving. she'll be back here sometime tonight for dinner.
i suppose i should be thankful for improving health, but i'm not. i suppose i should be thankful for my mother and sister, but i'm not. i suppose i should be thankful for my poetic talent, but i'm not. i suppose i should be thankful that anyone actually reads this blog, and i am.

i have my days where i get a wild hair up my ass and i kind of just fly off the handle. between a couple poems published, writing 5 new ones, doing a new SoundCloud recording and a book review in roughly 24 hours or so... i'd like to think of that as a creative outburst. honestly, i wish i had more of them. i'm doing a little each day trying to defeat the overwhelmingly high amount of apathy in my life. the joy of being a stubborn fuck is i probably will keep fighting it until i die. and as much as a part of me wishes that would be soon, i think the better angels have other plans. although, i don't trust either of them. welcome to my reality.
i had to take some stuff back to the post office for mom today. i figured when i was out, i'd hit up the local grocery store since we were low on bread. she wanted lunch from Wendy's today, so that was my final stop. i don't know what to do now that i have a garage door opener that will actually work from across the street. mom seems to be doing a little better today. she has to remind herself sometimes she has spinal stenosis. i think her depression is from her inability to cope with the fact she can't do what she could just a few years ago. and with insurance and her old employer constantly fucking around with her, i do think she's going to snap one of these days. that will be interesting to say the least.
i didn't mind who got voted off The Voice last night. they are now at the final ten. it should be very interesting to see who wins the show. my top 3 are Kennedy, Kymberli and Kirk. of course, all 3 are black, so i will be pleasantly surprised if any of them actually win.
Smackdown was much, much better than Raw last night. thank god.
i did watch both episodes of NXT UK this afternoon. they were both really good.

i saw today on the news that it is supposed to warm up into the 50's this weekend. it currently feels like the fucking teens right now. so, i suppose everyone is going to be fucking sick for the month of December. joy.
i'll probably be on here earlier tomorrow as the New Orleans Saints play tomorrow night.

i feel like at times i'm busier than nine cats covering up shit in a windstorm. i figure that's punishment for all the apathy over the years. if my mother did anything right, it was to teach me about choices and consequences. she never did like that i bent towards evil and couldn't give two shits about what happened. it's a good plan if you want to die in your early 20's. that was the plan originally. i have no damn clue what the fuck happened, 20 some years later.
just had a guy out at the house doing the check up on our furnace. nothing is wrong and it is running smoothly, but we should get a new one. you know, since the one here is over 20 years old. mom is going to consider it. i look at it as i have plenty of sweatshirts.
The Voice was pretty good last night. i have no clue who is going home tonight.
i did watch Meth Storm last night on HBO. you talk about a fucking depressing documentary. thank fucking god i don't live in Arkansas.
Monday Night Raw was a bit predictable last night. i really didn't mind as i was flipping channels anyway.

Manchester United plays this afternoon at Watford. this will be a tricky game. plus, it won't be on television here, so i'm planning on being at the grocery store while the game is on. hopefully that works.
i will eat lunch before i hit the grocery store. i have learned my lesson about shopping for food while hungry.
i will probably send out some poems tomorrow morning. i will be on here before the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow night.
and i did give into a cyber Monday deal last night from WWE. i couldn't pass up a t-shirt and a Funko Pop for under $20. Merry Christmas to me.

nerves and arthritis are a shitty mixture, to say the least. today was the day mom got her first round of injections into her bad back. the doctor said it's one of the worst ones he has ever seen. she's actually getting a shot on each side of her spine. so far, she's doing much better than i did when i got my first shot for my back 8 years ago. hopefully it stays that way. the next round of shots will be in the middle of December. the doctor hopes that after all the shots are given, back surgery can be avoided. the hip is a completely different story. i have no clue when she'll get her hip replacement, but i'm thinking sometime in 2017.
my sister stayed around for the procedure. i think she wanted to know what was going on for herself. she got back home before all the damn rain really got going today.
it's the kind of rain that gets me drinking in the day. of course, i also wrote 3 poems, so it's not all bad. all 3 were from various thoughts while in the waiting room. give me a smoking hot receptionist in a dress that keeps climbing up her a thigh, 5 or 6 poor white trash motherfuckers and chaos erupting on a major college campus and you have the perfect recipe for some poems.
yesterday was a mix bag for me for sports. might as well start off with the good.
the Dayton Flyers lead for the majority of the game yesterday against New Mexico. i was most proud of the boys when they lost the lead and got it right back and quickly extended it. that's a good sign. Dayton defeated New Mexico 64-57 in the 5th place game of The Wooden Legacy tournament. they are off until Saturday.
the New Orleans Saints were facing an ex defensive coordinator yesterday. they obviously wanted to rub his nose in it. they got what they wanted. the Saints erupted for a 49-21 victory yesterday over the Rams. it was a pleasure to watch.
Manchester United got scored on in the first 90 seconds yesterday. i was not pleased. they did come back to tie the game at 1 on a great goal from Zlatan, but they could never find the goal to win the game, thanks to West Ham's goalie standing on his head for most of the second half. a 1-1 draw with West Ham is basically a loss. that's the 4th straight home draw in the league. they haven't done that since 1980. they play West Ham again on Wednesday in the League Cup. hopefully they will find a way to win. they won't have Paul Pogba for that game due to yellow cards. great.
the New York Rangers are back in their old ways of looking great one game and mediocre the next. now, i do think Ottawa's goalie played a role in that, but the boys have to know by now that you can't be all flash every fucking game. you need a little KISS theory now and then as well. the Rangers lost 2-0. they play again tomorrow against Carolina.
Westworld was fucking great last night. it was a mind fuck that i truly enjoyed. the season finale next week should be spectacular.
Divorce was very funny last night.
the season finale of Insecure was awesome last night. i loved the tease of them getting back together and then it not happening. that was an excellent way to set up season 2.
Shameless was great last night.
The Affair was very interesting last night. i'm really interested to see what happens next week.

2 of the things i ordered mom for Christmas have already arrived. that's a good sign.
all in all, it was nice to have my sister down for the holiday weekend. i think she has a better understanding of what mom is facing and how things are really going down here.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. hopefully if you did do some holiday shopping, you got a great deal.

today is one of those days where sports will determine everything in my life. if all 3 of my teams win, i'll be on top of the world. if they all lose, i will be the miserable prick that my family has had to deal with more times than they care for.
but first, the highs and lows from yesterday...
the New York Rangers lost in Boston 4-3 yesterday. worse, they lost Derek Stepan for god knows how long with broken ribs on a dirty fucking hit. kudos to Dylan McIlrath for beating the shit out of the fucker that did it. hopefully the boys will get back to winning today at home against Philadelphia.
the Dayton Flyers built a huge lead last night and apparently this will be what they do this season; pissed it all away. thankfully, they came back late once again and won 73-70 over a very good Monmouth team. though, i could really do without those douche bags at the end of Monmouth's bench. they got more air time last night than the game almost. as i told my mother, there's the future of America. Dayton will play in the finals of the tournament on Sunday against their most hated rival, Xavier. it will be over 1,000 days since they last played each other. Dayton will have to be at their very best to win.
The Knick was outstanding last night. what really blew me away was seeing Jim Norton in the episode. that was really entertaining.
enjoy some music kids:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.
Ohio State plays that shit school from up north today. i'm really hoping Ohio State beats the shit out of them.
Manchester United takes on Leicester City today for top spot in the Premier League. since it's on the road, i don't have my hopes up for a United win. though, i'd be thrilled if they can fucking score.
both of those games and the New York Rangers game will be on at the same time today. joy.
i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast last night. if you are a fan of Lucha Libre, it is a must listen.

yesterday went pretty good, all things considered. i only got into it with my sister once. i benched the right players in fantasy football (except for you, you asshole Tony Romo). and, there was a ton of shit removed from the house to take to Goodwill. that should make the move a little easier.
my mother and sister are out and about at the moment. hopefully my mother remembers to take it easy and don't get stressed. being with my sister, i'm not sure that's possible.
i did get about 90% of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. hopefully it all gets here in one piece. with all the gift cards and codes, i think i spent around $100. not too bad. i'm thinking of what to come up with for my fans and friends. i'm toying with doing some watercolors and cutting them up into a puzzle. if i do anything, all that will be going out in early December.
i did hear back from The Kitchen Poet on my poetry submission from back in August. they decided to pass as they are too backlogged at the moment. so, now i really have a nice size batch of poems to go through for the next round of submissions.
i got 2 of the 3 football games wrong yesterday. thankfully, those games don't count in the one pick 'em i play for money.
the New York Rangers start a home and home against Philly this afternoon. the hot rumor at the moment is the Rangers will be getting their captain back today. if so, that will go a LONG way to solving their defensive problems. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer this afternoon.
i do plan on getting most of my poetry work done this afternoon as i will have no fucking time this weekend to do it.
sorry to cut this short, but i have a ton of trash to get out of the house, cats to feed, and a fantasy hockey roster to go check.
of course, i could go on bitching forever about the baseboard heaters that stopped working this morning in our great room.
by the way, i did FINALLY get to listen to the CM Punk interview yesterday with Colt Cabana. if the WWE's medical staff really did allow him to wrestle with a staph infection for 3 months, they all should be fired. and i'm really happy that Punk has found happiness and is free from the bullshit of the company. hopefully i get to see him in a ring one day again, but if it never happens, he left me with some great fucking memories. and honestly, i think he'll have more fun writing comic books than battling sloppy wrestlers.
ok, now i'm finished. thanks again to all 3 of you for allowing me to waste your precious time. i hope everyone has a great weekend.

if anyone would like to get me a gift for the holidays, my Amazon.com Wish List is public (find it using my email, jcampb4593@aol.com) and you are more than welcome to get me ANYTHING on the list.
here is how i have started this day for the last 15 years or so
my back locked up this morning and i got the shits from dinner last night/breakfast this morning. just the way i always want to spend a damn holiday. sadly, i figured my day would start this way after yesterday went so damn close to perfect. it was scary.
Manchester United showed that i had absolutely nothing to be worried about after they won 5-0 yesterday. a completely dominating win for all 90 minutes. i just wish they would play that way in the Premier League.
the New York Rangers responded nicely from their turd in Tampa with a 5-2 win at Florida. highlights are below:
the best part of last night was the Dayton Flyers. after the heartbreaking loss the night before, they responded as only i could have dreamed they would have. a dominating complete win over California, 82-64. the best part was the bench played out of their minds last night. and what i truly love about this team is the youth. they are all hungry and have attitudes in the good way. they want the world and they want it now. and i absolutely love freshmen who WANT to play defense. third place in the tourney and a well deserved few days off. hopefully they take this momentum and run with it.
not sure if i will do my laundry today as i'm not sure my back will allow that to happen. but, i do plan on getting my online Christmas shopping done while watching some football.
had a few unforeseen injuries in fantasy hockey last night that i truly didn't care for. always hate when i have to tinker with a team mid week. never fun.
well, for my other Thanksgiving tradition, here is the song that plays after the prayer:
a few things i am thankful for:
my mother and sister
that anyone actually reads this blog
for the wonderful people that publish my poetry
for the few friends that i actually have
and most of all...
that i finally learned to accept the pain
hope everyone has a great holiday. i will return tomorrow with adventures from the bank most likely.

yesterday was pretty much a day i would like to forget. although, the demons inside of me don't allow for such things. i can remember shit from when i was 2 years old. what makes me think i'll be able to forget a stupid argument with my mother and an 18 inning baseball game that was something resembling a slow death.
first with the baseball...
the Yankees lost 3-2 in 18 innings yesterday in one of the most frustrating games i have had the pleasure/horror of watching since i became a Yankee fan in 1982. i would rather eat paint chips than describe how the fuck a team could leave a small village on base in just extra innings alone. they start a series tonight in that house of horrors in Anaheim. not sure if i will watch the game or not. i have so many bad memories of games from that place that i might end up watching 'whatever' instead.
as for the argument...
when it happened i was a little dumbfounded how a shit day at work could become taking some shots below the belt. but, while bagging my 6th bag of shredded paper (that number is now at 10 by the way) it dawned on me. yesterday was the birthday of my stepfather. throw the gasoline of grieving for a true love on top of a bad day at work, and i understand why i was caught in the gunfire. that's the beauty of dysfunction i suppose, there's always some psychological seed that shit comes from.
so, in case my mother reads this, contrary to what you may believe when you are angry and simply pissed off because you are turning 60 this weekend while the love of your life rests in an urn, i do love you. always have and always will. and i know i'm not exactly the best at showing it. but, i am trying to get better.
a hello to the muse. see, i told you i would find a way to get you into this blog. i hope you feel better soon and have a great weekend.
my sister will be coming down this weekend. i'm interested to see her new car. and hopefully talk her into buying some poetry.
other than that, hopefully this weather continues for the weekend. mid 70's with decent humidity, can't get much better than this. so, of course it's supposed to rain.
no critter update as the last raccoon and the groundhog have grown wise to the traps. little fuckers.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
