history was made...

i did watch Alex Ovechkin break Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record yesterday when he scored his 895th goal. to me, the best part of the game was that the Capitals lost, 4-1.

the Yankees lost at the Pirates yesterday, 5-4, in 11 innings. they start a series this afternoon at Detroit.

the season finale of The White Lotus was crazy last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Yellowjackets was fucking insane last night. the season finale next week should be bonkers.

The Americas was very good last night. that season finale is next week.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was very good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll watch Monday Night Raw sometime tonight on Netflix.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa Bay.

Manchester United and Manchester City played a 0-0 draw yesterday. at least i was able to get a good nap in.

apparently, i don't sleep enough...

i had all these plans today. i was having a good morning and was getting ready to go to the post office. i got an ice pack as i wanted to ice my back before i went. and then the plan was to come home and start my laundry. well, apparently i must have got the ice on the right spot as i fell asleep and woke up 4 hours later. holy shit. i saw the time and was stunned. of course, i was sweating, so i looked to see what the temperature was in the house. 77. oh fuck. i shut all the windows and doors and turned the air on. at least my back felt better.

so yeah, i guess tomorrow will be my busy day.

the Yankees won yesterday against the Rangers, 8-7. they start a series tonight on the road at the White Sox. these are games the Yankees have to win. the White Sox fucking suck this year.

i did watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics. it was good. and overall, i thought the Olympics were really good.

Big Brother was good last night.

well, at least it isn't ice...

the freezing rain we were supposed to get last night and into this morning wasn't as bad here as i was expecting. now, it hasn't helped my arthritis any, but at least i didn't have to ice skate out to the mailbox. the trip to Rite Aid last night went smoothly. i actually got some baseball and basketball cards there. the baseball cards had 2 decent cards in the box. the 2 packs of basketball cards were much, much better.

had a really good conversation with the spanish princess last night. and i heard from the muse today. i was a little worried when i didn't hear from her on my birthday.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. might have been the best show before the Royal Rumble i can remember in years. i was a little shocked when i saw the news this morning that starting in January of 2025, Raw will be moving to Netflix. i don't use Netflix, so as i told my mother, i will only be jumping on that if all of WWE is going on there. she's probably happy that now her Monday nights won't consist of 3 hours of pro wrestling.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

mom ordered some new chairs for the kitchen. they arrived today via FedEx. luckily, i was in the kitchen and saw the truck pull up. i had him put this big ass box in the garage. so, as soon as this is done, i get to open that and hope it is what she ordered.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i am hoping all this fucking rain will be out of the area by then. it is supposed to be close to 50 degrees tomorrow. so, i guess i won't need my winter coat.

while checking my emails last night...

the next to last email i had of the 370 i had to check last night before i tried to fall asleep, was an email from Ancestry.com. so, in that email, it let me know i had a new match on the site, and it just happened to be the cousin that molested me as a child. fuck me. no matter how much i feel like i have moved on, dealt with, been through and continued to live, etc. it almost seems like the universe is letting me know... no matter what, this is going to haunt you until the day you take your own life. exactly what i wanted to be on my mind right before bed. good times.

the New York Yankees got swept last night at the Angels, 7-3. that means they went 1-6 on a very winnable road trip out of the All Star break. joy. they start a series at home tomorrow night against the Royals.

i did see some of the highlights of the MLS All Star game last night.

AEW Dynamite was very good last night.

the series finale of Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

so, it has been a day...

mom made me give her a COVID test today. i did the test on her and after 10 minutes, i let her know that she was negative. i get the feeling she is depressed yet doesn't know why. and i have been dealing with depression for so long, i tell her all the things i see. of course, i don't do it in a way that she finds supporting or uplifting, so i'm not sure how much she takes what i'm saying to heart. honestly, i sometimes think she is just looking for someone to tell her what she wants to hear. i understand that. i never really search for that in my life. i'm more interested in the ones that will tell me the hard truths and give me some thoughts on how i could make something better. i have learned in 47 years to check my ego at the door at times. i know if i never learned that, i would be dead by now. especially given how this country is now.

so yeah, there is a level of frustration in the house from one side that you can feel it. and as much as i will help my mother i know, this is something that she has to take the initiative to actually want the help. i'm very much a do something about it or just accept it kind of person. mom is so entrenched in her procrastination that i'm not sure she actually knows how to deal with any mental shit without just pushing it away to deal with it later. as much as i tell her that will come back to bite her in the end, she keeps on doing it. as you can imagine, nothing but fun times here. as one photo in the house says, we put the fun in dysfunction.

part 1 of the finale of The Voice last night was excellent. i have no damn clue who is going to win. i know tonight will be Blake Shelton's last night, so i'm expecting a shit ton of nostalgia.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

so damn hot and humid...

i got woke up this morning when the truck came around to pick up our recycling. that was at 7:54 this morning. i fell asleep in my chair around 5 this morning. so yeah, i guess i almost got 3 hours of sleep. joy.

the grocery store was a bit crazy today. they only had 2 checkout lanes open that had cashiers at them. if you wanted to scan all the shit yourself, all those lanes were open. given the number of elderly customers today at Kroger, it didn't take a fucking genius to know maybe we should have a few more checkout lanes open. to make matters worse, one of the lanes closed with a few people still in line. hot temps, short fuses, and melting frozen shit... what a recipe for disaster. the icing on the cake was after i bagged most of my own groceries and paid the $164 for everything, i went outside to put the items in the Highlander. within 30 seconds of putting the stuff in i heard a loud crashing sound. i started looking around and there looked like there was a head on collision in the intersection near the grocery store. thank god i would be going home in the opposite direction. what a shit show.

i did watch bits and pieces of the MLB All Star game last night. the American League won, 3-2. hell, the National League only had 1 hit after the first inning. Giancarlo Stanton of the Yankees won the MVP for the game. he is only the 3rd Yankee ever to win the award (Jeter and Rivera).

NXT was excellent last night.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night. the show will be back in August once Shark Week is over.

enjoy some music:

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow in the morning as the Yankees have a doubleheader tomorrow in Houston.

i need to get outside and water the tomato plants. i can't count on the rain actually hitting us tonight. it looks like from the radar everything is going to stay to the north. at least the stifling humidity should be gone after tonight.

so, the rain is going to turn to snow...

so much for spring... when i told my mother she needed her winter coat today when we were going to her physical therapy session, i could tell she wasn't happy. mom freaked me out last night. i went and got some Lee's chicken for dinner. her sodium numbers were low enough that she could have a meal. so, after she ate, she felt so full that she wasn't sure if she was dying or not. i took her blood pressure and it was at a level where she probably should have been having a stroke. low enough that i asked if she wanted me to call the squad. she said no, let me die in my chair. i said i'll have to call someone or they are going to charge me with something. all in all, i think it was a ploy to get some red velvet cake. after the cake and some lemonade, she was fine. i helped her with her exercises and by 2 AM, her blood pressure was fine. by this morning, it was truly back to normal, it was high.

i did watch the USMNT play Mexico last night. the match finished up 0-0. honestly, if the USA would have been clinical in the final third, they would have won 2 or 3-0. oh well. a solid point on the road. now, the USMNT comes home to take on Panama. if they defeat Panama on Sunday and Costa Rica does something other than win, the USA will be in the World Cup.

NXT UK was pretty good last night.

both episodes of Atlanta last night were spectacular. i'm so happy the show is back.

Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week.

NJPW was good last night.

Dicktown was hilarious last night.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. this could be a playoff preview, so i'm hoping the boys play a complete game and win.

i picked Gonzaga to win it all this season, so of course they lost last night.

i'm sure i'll watch some of the games tonight as well.

i did see that HHH retired today from pro wrestling. given what my mother went through with her heart failure, i know exactly what he was talking about and just how fucking scary that is.

i believe i am going to make some turkey burgers tonight.

i should probably be on here tomorrow in the late morning/early afternoon most likely. if we do get snow in the morning, i'll be beyond pissed.

nothing like being below zero...

as soon as i opened the blinds this morning, i could tell it was colder than shit outside. good times.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at home against Rhode Island, 53-51. i watched most of the game on the television. i'm happy i wasn't there as i'm sure i would have been miserable given that Dayton couldn't put the ball into the ocean last night. but thankfully, they actually won one of these ugly ass games for a change.

the New York Rangers pissed away a 2 goal lead again last night. they lost to Minnesota, 3-2. the ceremony to retire The King's #30 last night was excellent, as usual.

the season finale of Chillin Island was very good last night.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was very good last night.

CR7 to the rescue again...

so, i wasn't really sure what to expect from Manchester United today. they were playing in Spain at Villarreal in the Champions League. they needed a win today to secure a place in the last 16 for the Champions League. David de Gea made some great saves. and then late in the match, CR7 to the rescue. United got a second goal from Jadon Sancho. i'm so happy he finally did something positive. i hope that opens the floodgates for that kid. United won 2-0. Michael Carrick got his first win. they have a huge test this weekend against Chelsea.

The Voice was really good last night. i have no damn clue who gets eliminated tonight.

Monday Night Raw was a bit crazy last night. Seth Rollins got attacked by a fan. that at least spiced things up a bit.

the boys became men last night...

so, i was hoping for the best last night when the USA took on Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League final. when Mexico scored in the first 2 minutes, i wasn't happy at all. thankfully, the USA tied it in the 27th minute. it was the second half where this game became a classic. between the injuries, the constant skirmishes, goals and penalty kicks, it had a little of everything. when Weston McKinnie tied the game at 2, i just had a feeling that the boys were going to find a way. Captain America Christian Pulisic scored a penalty kick in the 114th minute to make 3-2. and then Ethan Horvath stopped a penalty kick from Mexico in the 124th minute. i'm pretty sure everyone in the neighborhood could hear me screaming by then. this was the first time in over a decade that the USA came from behind to beat Mexico in a final. i'm so hoping that this is the start of a golden generation that takes the sport to unknown heights in this country. USA won last night, 3-2. i'm still buzzing all these hours later.

the Yankees got swept last night, losing to Boston 6-5 in 10 innings. the umpiring once again was horrific. i'm not sure how a pitch 3 inches off the plate is a strike in 2021. if these games i have watched this year has shown me anything, the fucking robot umpires couldn't be any worse than this shit. thankfully, the Yankees are off tonight.

i can never understand it...

i have never accepted the act of playing down to your competition as a part of human nature. either you have the competitive spirit to always win, no matter who you are playing, or you don't. it's painfully fucking obvious that Manchester United doesn't have that win at all costs mentality anymore. the 1-1 draw today against a Fulham team that is already relegated from the Premier League is inexcusable. they are fucking around with the possibility of pissing away the chance to finish second in the league. this will also mean they will probably piss away their chance to win the Europa League. hats off to Cavani for the screamer he scored today from 35 yds. out. i wish everyone else on the team had an assassin inside of them like he does. and to think, i was actually having a good day.

the Yankees lost last night, 5-2. it is painfully obvious that the team isn't that good this year.
