i just sent out 5 poems to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from Cristina, i will pass along the verdict.
the Yankees lost yesterday to Toronto, 5-2. they will try to avoid the sweep this afternoon. the lead in the division is now 7 games.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

so, i was hoping that SummerSlam was going to be good last night. it wasn't. it was great. you definitely could feel how HHH is going to do things differently than Vince did. and honestly, right from the start of the show, the pacing was better and the oh shit moments were amazing.
there seems to be something that happens to me every couple of years. i'll meet someone that will seem amazing to me. we'll talk, get to know each other better, etc. etc. i'll share some links to my poetry and they will seem interested. and then the second that i think this could be legit or something more, they will vanish. into thin fucking air, like they never existed in the first place. now, what really sucks is when they ask you for help in getting published and you actually believe they are being honest. and of course, this last one was a dream woman. nearly every fucking thing i wish for in a woman and two days after really "connecting" on a genuine and honest level, gone...this is the kind of shit from the universe that makes me believe i will die old and alone. either that, or i am still being punished for some fucking thing i apparently have done. joy.
i got my laundry done and went to bed at 4:45 this morning. i was up at 7 to piss and then finally made it out of my massage chair at 9:15. i figure, i got my 4 hours, time to go.
the Yankees lost last night in Baltimore, 6-3. they couldn't get a hit with runners in scoring position to save their lives last night. hopefully, they will win this afternoon.
my arthritis is raging at the moment. between the rain and more rain and more rain (we are under a flood watch until tomorrow morning) and having people try to scam me out of money, it has been a trying morning. good times.
the Yankees won last night over Boston, 14-1. it was nice to see them get back to normal again. hopefully, the boys will win again today.
i hate these days where it is humid right from the start. it doesn't fuck with me as much as it does my mother. her Meniere's disease is truly fucking worse when it is humid. she almost becomes a narcoleptic. today she dropped her glass of diet coke in the living room. what makes it even worse, her vision is so bad she thought the coke on the carpet was glass. there's just a glimpse of the fun i have everyday.
the Yankees pissed away a 4 run lead last night and lost to Boston, 11-6. they are off tonight and start a series at home against the Reds on Tuesday night. they are 61-25 this season.
i went out this morning to pull weeds and feed the birds. it actually felt pretty good out there for a change. the humidity wasn't stifling. of course, it was also before 8 AM. so, between doing all that and watering the tomato plants, my back was screaming by late morning. while icing it down, i decided to binge the rest of season 2 of We Hunt Together. i think it was pretty good and clearly, they wrote the finale hoping there would be a season 3.
the Yankees lost last night in Boston, 6-5 in 10 innings. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.
i did the dishes before i went to bed last night. now, i won't say i got great sleep as i saw the clock way too many times overnight. but, i didn't really wake up until almost 10 AM. i'll take it.
the Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Cleveland. and both wins were come from behind victories. the Yankees won Game 1, 13-4. they won Game 2, 6-1. they go for the season sweep of Cleveland this afternoon.
this doesn't happen that much to me anymore (thankfully) but there is a point where my pain in my bad back just becomes too fucking much. and what happens is i usually have to spend most of the day in my massage chair with ice on it and i am fucking useless. now, being my mother's caretaker means useless isn't allowed, which i do understand. so, i don't get to spend as much time in the chair as i would love to, but that's called fucking life. today my bad back has decided it wanted to win. and it has.
the Yankees lost yesterday at Toronto, 10-9. they blew an 8-3 lead. oh well. they will hopefully start a new winning streak tonight at that dump down in Tampa.
Happy Father's Day to all the good fathers out there. if you are like the father i had growing up, go to fucking hell already.
also, Happy Juneteenth to everyone. if you are still not sure what this holiday means or why it even fucking exists, please educate yourself. no one else is going to do it for you.
i was up at 7 this morning. i didn't sleep well, mostly because it rained most of the night. the ache i feel anymore in my bones, it is screaming for illegal drugs. i get the feeling an accidental overdose might be the last horizon of fun i have on this earth.
i did go to Lowe's yesterday and got a few things for the tomatoes. i'm hoping the bamboo stakes i got are going to work. after that, i went to Big Lots hoping to find some cards. i had a $5 off coupon i wanted to use. thankfully, i found 2 packs of 2021 Topps Heritage and 2 packs of 2021 Score football. the best card in the Heritage packs was a Mike Trout card. the best card in Score packs was a Trevor Lawrence rookie card.
the Yankees won last night in Houston, 1-0. Gerrit Cole pitched a complete game, three hit shutout. Aaron Judge hit a solo home run and trolled Altuve perfectly as he rounded third base. i'm hoping the Yankees get the sweep this afternoon.
i swear, i can't sleep more than 4 hours. i went to bed after 2 this morning and got up a little after 6. fuck me.
it felt muggy as hell outside this morning. i watered the tomatoes because i know damn well, the rain chances around here today are slim and none.
mom and i went to Menards last night. we got a new suet bird feeder and more hot pepper suet. we also got some bamboo stakes for the tomatoes. i swear, those things are growing like they are on steroids. i was hoping we were going to find some plants to use on the back porch, but they didn't have anything mom liked. after Menards, she wanted her frozen coke from Burger King. i went to the one on the way home (sort of) and there's 20 minutes of my life i'll never get back. the frozen coke machine was defrosting so i just got her some water instead. her allergies were acting up. fun times.
the Yankees lost again last night to Boston, 4-2. hopefully, they won't get swept again this afternoon.
one of my favorite blogs to write every damn year. if you know me or have read this blog over the years, you know how much i hated my father. so, i raise my glass today to all the good fathers out there and to all the dead ones that were total pieces of shit. the sad thing is, when i am alone or out driving and catch a quick glimpse of myself, i see my father. so, if my life ends in a sudden death, you'll understand why.
i wrote 4 poems yesterday. i really think they are good. i know where my next 12 poems are going to be sent to. i am hoping to get those submissions out tomorrow.
my order from Topps.com should be coming today.
ROH was very good last night.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
so, for most of yesterday, i was in my massage chair with ice on my back. i just love having a bad back in the summer.
the Yankees lost yesterday at Philadelphia, 8-7 in 10 innings. hopefully, they will win this afternoon.
