i remember this holiday was a fun one for me when i was a kid. fireworks, cookouts, parties, sunshine, etc... but now as an adult, fireworks don't do anything for me. if i would be having a cookout, i would be the one cooking. i haven't been to a party in years. sunshine isn't that big of a deal to me ever since mom got skin cancer. and the true meaning of independence day is lost on so many sheep in this country. and besides that, not everyone is allowed to celebrate this day. which honestly, to see the amount of bigotry and ignorance still in this country in 2022 is beyond fucking depressing.
and speaking of that, i sat down to write yesterday. 2 hours of sitting and looking at a blank page. 2 hours of nothing. so, now i really know i am depressed. i was hoping a shower at 3 in the morning would help. i got out this morning and fed the birds and watered the tomato plants. and yeah, still fucking depressed. so yeah, not exactly the mood i wanted for the 4th of July.
the Yankees had more errors than hits yesterday. they lost to Cleveland, 2-0. they are off today and start a series in Pittsburgh tomorrow night.
the season finale of The Man Who Fell to Earth was excellent last night.
both episodes of We Hunt Together were good last night. i might just binge the series later this week since there are only 6 episodes.
The Chi was excellent last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was pretty funny last night.
Westworld was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and Miz and Mrs.
the USWNT plays tonight against Haiti in group play of the CONCACAF women's championship.
i did watch most of the USMNT U-20 game last night against the Dominican Republic. the USA won 6-0 to win the tournament.
the only tradition i have for the 4th of July anymore is watching the hot dog eating contest. i have that on in the background right now.
Joey Chestnut won his 15th title, eating 63 hot dogs. just imagine that bowel movement.
i did listen to episode 402 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
i did the dishes before i went to bed last night. now, i won't say i got great sleep as i saw the clock way too many times overnight. but, i didn't really wake up until almost 10 AM. i'll take it.
the Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Cleveland. and both wins were come from behind victories. the Yankees won Game 1, 13-4. they won Game 2, 6-1. they go for the season sweep of Cleveland this afternoon.
WWE Money in the Bank was really good last night. while i'm not very happy that Theory won the men's briefcase, especially since he wasn't added to the match until right before it started, i am fucking so damn happy that Liv Morgan won the women's briefcase and cashed it in to win the Smackdown's women's championship by defeating Ronda Rousey.

on the DVR tonight will be two episodes of We Hunt Together, The Chi, the season finale of The Man Who Fell to Earth, Flatbush Misdemeanors and Westworld.
i'm not sure what else i might watch today. in a perfect world, i would love to get some writing done.
i will probably be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow.
i don't really have any plans for July 4th.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
a big thank you to everyone that has checked out the poems i have had published the last couple of days:
yesterday was long, crazy, good, etc. and i might as well start from where we left off yesterday...
the Yankees were in the process of being no hit again yesterday. 6 1/3 fucking innings of ineptitude and then Stanton crushed a home run to dead center. that seemed to wake up the dead. the Yankees were still down 3-1 though. thankfully, DJ LeMahieu hit a 2 run homer in the 8th to tie the game at 3. the game went to extra innings. Michael King survived the top of the 10th. and then, Dusty Baker showed his age by not walking Aaron Judge in the bottom of the 10th. he hit a three run homer that gave the Yankees a 6-3 victory. now, the Astros outpiched the Yankees by a mile in this series. but, both Yankee victories in the series spilt were punches to the dick. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Oakland.
i did catch a little of the MLS game yesterday.
the AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door ppv yesterday was fucking great.
i completely didn't know I Can See Your Voice was going to be on yesterday. it was pretty good.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, Miz & Mrs and Don't Forget the Lyrics.
i did listen to episode 401 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
so, as i watching the Yankees game yesterday, they brought up the stat that the Astros no-hit them in a combined no-hitter 19 years ago. and sure enough, they did it again yesterday. the Yankees struck out 15 fucking times yesterday and lost 3-0. they need to win today to split the series. it is painfully obvious that the Astros are still in their fucking heads.
i did watch plenty of the MLS yesterday.
the USWNT defeated Colombia last night, 3-0.
i did get my pills (finally) at Rite Aid yesterday.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i'm not going to be shocked if there is going to be a Game 7.
it is supposed to rain today at some point. i get the feeling i'll have to water the tomato plants anyway.
i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
mom cancelled her doctor's appointment for tomorrow. so, i have no damn clue what time i will be on here on Monday.

this doesn't happen that much to me anymore (thankfully) but there is a point where my pain in my bad back just becomes too fucking much. and what happens is i usually have to spend most of the day in my massage chair with ice on it and i am fucking useless. now, being my mother's caretaker means useless isn't allowed, which i do understand. so, i don't get to spend as much time in the chair as i would love to, but that's called fucking life. today my bad back has decided it wanted to win. and it has.
the Yankees lost yesterday at Toronto, 10-9. they blew an 8-3 lead. oh well. they will hopefully start a new winning streak tonight at that dump down in Tampa.
i did catch a couple MLS games yesterday.
i also watched some golf yesterday.

i did listen to episode 400 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
i didn't get anything written yesterday. another joy of back pain. my tomorrow is going to be a bit crazy. so, i'm thinking i will get some poems out either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, before i do the grocery shopping.
i have to take mom to get her injection tomorrow. i'm really hoping this takes and eliminates most of her pain. if not, i get the feeling things are going to get very expensive. and then later in the day, i have a doctor's appointment. hopefully my A1C has gone down. so, i will most likely do the blog in the window between appointments or after my doctor's appointment.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
tomorrow is the first day of summer here. i believe the temperature is supposed to be something close to that of hell.

so, the New York Rangers lost at Tampa last night, 2-1. the Lightning will play Colorado looking for their 3rd straight Stanley Cup. i wasn't happy that the Rangers coach broke up the kid line last night. but, the true kick in the nuts was when the Rangers tied the game at 1, the Lightning scored 21 seconds later to make it 2-1. i looked at my mother and just said i might as well get ready to shave off the playoff beard. all in all, i believe what many of the experts believe, this Rangers team was a few years ahead of schedule. i really think this loss will be the catalyst to go even farther next time. i'm just hoping it doesn't take another 7 years or so for them to get back to this. but, me being me, i will be haunted by the Game 3 collapse more than anything. they were one solid period of hockey from going up 3-0 in the series and having one foot in the Stanley Cup final. the fan in me wants Colorado to absolutely destroy Tampa. my brain believes if Colorado is willing to pay the price to win, it will be in 6 or 7 games.
the New York Yankees hit 6 solo home runs last night and defeated the Cubs, 8-0. they will go for the sweep this afternoon.
i did watch the Belmont Stakes yesterday.
at some point today, i am hoping to go get my hair cut.
enjoy some music:

yesterday was one of those days where i think i just about ran the whole fucking gamut of emotions. but, before we get on that damn rollercoaster, a little poetry news first.
i sent out 8 poems today. 5 to Synchronized Chaos and 3 to Terror House Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
the Yankees defeated the Tigers yesterday, 5-4 in 10 innings. the Yankees had a perfect 6-0 homestand. they are off tonight and start a series in Minnesota tomorrow night.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Tampa, 3-2. they fell into their old traps once again. they pissed away a 2-0 lead. they were badly outshot and couldn't stay out of the damn penalty box. that being said, Tampa scored the winning goal with 41 seconds left. i hope the Rangers bounce back to win Tuesday night and take a 3-1 lead back to MSG.
the USMNT had a 0-0 draw with Uruguay yesterday. as much as i would have loved a victory, at least they didn't lose 3-0 to them like Mexico did.
here are your highlights from Game 2 of the NBA Finals last night.
VICE was very good last night.
The Man Who Fell To Earth was excellent last night.
Ziwe was hilarious last night.
Gaslit was very good last night.
Barry was good last night. the season finale is next week.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone out there. hope you have a great day.
yesterday started off well enough here. and then mom had another fall. i'm not exactly sure what happened this time as i was getting a back massage in my chair. all i know is i heard a boom and looked into the kitchen and noticed my mother's rollator was on its side. i'm pretty sure she bruised her tailbone. she is still sore today.
Game 7 last night between Boston and Miami was good. the road team won, which gives me hope for the Rangers tonight.
i did watch a little of the Indy 500 and NASCAR last night.
VICE was very good last night.
The Man Who Fell To Earth was excellent last night.
Ziwe was great last night.
Barry was amazing last night.
The Baby was very good last night.

i do plan on watching some of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse national championship today between Maryland and Cornell.
i did listen to episode 397 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:

so, the New York Rangers played a pretty good Game 6 last night and Carolina played like they have all playoffs on the road. they stunk. the Rangers won 5-2. that sets up Game 7 tomorrow night in Carolina. i'm really hoping the Rangers play their asses off in that game and find a way to win. the winner of Game 7 will host Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals.
there is a Game 7 tonight in the NBA. Boston at Miami, winner goes on to face Golden State in the final.
the Champions League final was pretty good yesterday. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool, 1-0. i always love when Liverpool loses.
i did watch a little of some MLS games yesterday:
the Yankees lost yesterday, 3-1. hopefully, they will win the series today down in that dump in Tampa.

i didn't go up to Kroger yesterday as mom said the pills she needed weren't ready yet. apparently today, most of them are. so, i get to make a little trip when i get this done.
i do plan on watching some soccer today and most likely plenty of auto racing. i'm hoping Juan Pablo Montoya does well today in the Indy 500.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
