here comes the heat...

so, i almost got everything done yesterday. everything but the damn haircut. i didn't feel like waiting forever at the place i get it done at, so i figured i would do it today. so, once i get this thing written, i'll be off to go do that.

the New York Yankees whipped the Cubs yesterday, 18-4. this Yankees team is really reminding me of the championship teams of years past. they are off today and start a series with Tampa Bay at home tomorrow night.

the season finale of Barry last night was fucking great.

the series finale of The Baby last night was really good.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

the series finale of Gaslit was very good last night.

VICE was very good last night.

The Man Who Fell To Earth was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, Don't Forget the Lyrics and Miz & Mrs.

i did listen to episode 399 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:

Game 5 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i will probably watch some of that.

i need to go get my pills from Rite Aid today. i'm going to do that before i go to get my haircut.

when i get home, i need to do the dishes.

hard to believe my stepfather would have been 75 years old today.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

mom told me she is planning on going to physical therapy tomorrow, so i should be on here after that is done. (update... she just got a call that her therapist is sick and her appointment has been canceled)

until tomorrow kids...

someone turn on the heat again...

fuck, it's windy and cold today. supposed to get down to 38 tonight. fuck, i guess the furnace gets blasting again tonight.

i did make it out to Menards today, much later than i wanted to. mom had like 3 appointments in a row here at the house. i think they finally realized her blood pressure medication wasn't working. i didn't get to shower until they were all done. i was able to find a few things there i needed, especially for the birds.

AEW was really good last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy once again last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, B Positive, The United States of Al, Desus & Mero, Cake and Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

Manchester United won today, 2-0, to advance to the semi-final of the Europa League. i didn't get to see any of the match.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against New Jersey. hopefully, the boys can win again tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom's appointment in the afternoon.

the final day of 2020...

i am so ready for 2020 to be over. i'm not sure if that's the pain talking or the naive fucker inside of me that thinks 2021 is going to be better.

so, just before the Dayton game last night, i saw that Chase Johnson was leaving the team for the second time in 2 years. i'm hoping he gets his health in order and shit, but it is a little funny that this has happened after the end of the first semester 2 years in a row. on top of that, two other players were injured and weren't going to be able to play against LaSalle. that meant that their new player from Finland, Mustapha Amzil, was not only going to be making his collegiate debut in the game, he was going to be starting. now, he was probably the only Dayton player i couldn't be mad at, mostly because he scored 22 points in the game and was the only fucking player on Dayton that looked like he cared. Dayton lost last night to a fucking horrible LaSalle team, 67-65. that was the first time LaSalle won at Dayton since 1999. the more i type about it, all the shit i felt last night keeps coming up. so yeah, they play against George Mason on Saturday at home. if they play like they did last night, they will lose again.

https://soundcloud.com/talkingoutlowd/rapid-reaction-la-salle

AEW last night was very emotional. they gave probably the best tribute show i have ever seen last night for the memory of Brodie Lee. i cried for nearly the whole damn show.

NXT was very good last night.

i did catch a little of the World Juniors last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i watched NXT UK this afternoon on WWE Network. it was a look back on 2020 and was pretty good.

i will be watching the USA vs. Sweden game tonight at the World Juniors. if either team wins in regulation, they win the group. it would be massive for the USA to win tonight. that would give them the "easier" game in the quarterfinal.

i'm sure i'll probably watch the ball drop tonight and be thankful this fucking year is over.

and i'm sure i'll probably text a few friends around midnight, although i'll probably be the only one awake.

it's painfully obvious that age is getting to all of us.

i should be on here tomorrow pretty early. if not, it will be after Manchester United plays a huge game against Aston Villa.

until tomorrow kids... be safe tonight and enjoy every second of it.

i love when a hunch comes true

so, i got up this morning to watch the Manchester United game. when they went down 2-0 by halftime, i turned the game off. i needed to go to the store and get some things before this potential winter storm hits. i did see that United cut the score to 2-1 before i left. so, while i was out, i just kept thinking United will find a way and win it 3-2. thank you so damn much Edinson Cavani. he set up the Bruno goal that made 2-1 and then scored the next 2 for United to win at Southampton, 3-2. that was United's 8th straight win on the road in the Premier League, a club record.

i did get some hockey and baseball cards at Meijer this morning. nothing special in the 2020 Upper Deck Young Guns hockey cards. i also picked up a blaster box of Bowman 2020 Platinum as well. i found another Luis Robert rookie card in that. i might have made up for the cost of the cards with the baseball cards.

i did find everything that was on the list today between Meijer and Kroger. i also found a frame for the Keith Haring art print i bought a few days ago.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the finale of The Undoing, Murder on Middle Beach, Moonbase 8 and My Psychedelic Love Story.

the New Orleans Saints play later this afternoon at the Broncos. all of Denver's quarterbacks are injured or have the rona, so this is going to be a crazy game.

i did get my haircut yesterday. i had this black woman named Kandi cut it. oh, how i love when a black woman cuts my hair. i could smell a cigarette on her fingers. i believe it was a Newport. that brought back some memories. i more or less had just about everything cut off. she did most of it by hand, which surprised me. it cost $16 and i gave her a $10 tip. i figure that was my contribution to small business Saturday.

i have started my Christmas cards and gifts. i'm hoping to get the first batch of them done and out by tomorrow. i figure the second batch will go out after the storm passes.

the "experts" can't make up their minds with this storm. we're either going to get no snow, 1-3 inches of snow or 3-5 inches to snow with "whiteout" conditions. joy.

i should be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday.

nothing like starting off your day with 500 emails...

one thing i hate about politics in this country is all the fucking email i get sent to me about either party. it's beyond tempting to just fucking delete them, especially since i have already voted. and no, i didn't watch the fucking debate. no, i'm not sending you money i don't have. this shit can't get over quick enough.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Cody evicted Christmas. i guess Nicole won the first part of the final HOH of the season. that means Cody has to take on Enzo to see who faces Nicole in the final part of the HOH.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

i did watch some of the Giants vs. Eagles game last night. i guess i turned it off too soon as the Eagles came back to win, 22-21.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Big Brother, WWE Talking Smack and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

of course, we're supposed to have a huge line of storms come through here tonight, so i doubt i get to see much of the shows.

my last load of laundry is in the dryer. i still need to shave and shower. there simply aren't enough hours in the day anymore.

i stumbled across some David Wells rookie cards today while going through an old shoebox. that was a nice find, especially since i have 4 of them (1988 Donruss).

i have a nice problem tomorrow. Ohio State and Manchester United will be playing at the same time. hopefully, both will win.

i'm going to try to be on here before those games start tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

what could be more fun than being dead tired while standing in line at the bank

i think i finally fell asleep around 4 in the morning. by 8 i was up and ready to get cracking on the poems. i got some positive feedback from my latest YouTube video, so i think i was running on that juice.

i sent out 27 poems today, 5 each to Carcinogenic Poetry, Big Hammer and Nerve Cowboy. 3 each to Napalm and Novocain, Pyrokinection, Dead Snakes and Mad Swirl. when i hear back from those places, i'll pass along the verdicts. i held 9 poems back for 2 other places that i'm waiting to send to.

when i walked into the bank today, the line was nearly out to the outside lobby. i was behind these two black girls, i'm saying girls because they looked like they were maybe out of high school. now, the problem i have with attractive black women in public wearing next to nothing is i will look at them and think of which web cam girl they remind me of. and since the one i was standing behind had shorts on that nearly covered all of her ass, i had about 100 names running through my head. all this while listening to the two black women behind me talk about sororities at the university of Cincinnati. there probably should be a study done on my brain some day.

i had mixed results with my fantasy football. i have a decent lead in one, a deficit i should be able to come back from in another and let's just say i had my ass handed to me in the other one. i'm down 61 points and my opponent still has Aaron Rodgers to play tonight. i have 3 guys going and i know i have no fucking chance. i did much better in my picks though, if Green Bay wins tonight, i'll have 11 wins for the week.

the VICE special on the prison system last night was good. sadly, i already know most of the shit they talked about given the number of people i have known that have gone to prison. but, if you are ignorant or don't think the system is broken, i urge you to watch it. here's a clip from it:

The Strain was excellent last night. it set up a holy shit i can't wait for the season finale next week. the season finale of Ray Donovan was great. that had an oh shit ending as well. for that matter, so did the season finale of Masters of Sex. Last Week Tonight was excellent as always:

time for some music kids:

now some of this and that:
i believe i may have found the most amazing looking woman on the planet. that video will haunt my damn dreams until the day i die.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 6-1. they took 3 out of 4 against the White Sox. that takes the magic number down to 3 to clinch a playoff spot. they start a series tonight against Boston. it would be nice to clinch a spot against those fuckers.

the New Orleans Saints did pretty much what i thought they would do yesterday. they kept it close but ultimately lost 27-22. they next play against Dallas. Drew Brees hopes to play in the game. i won't get my hopes up.

tonight is the usual clusterfuck on the DVR. since i will be flipping between Monday Night Raw, Monday Night Football, the baseball game and the New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia, recording on the DVR will be Gotham, The Voice, The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces. good thing i don't give two shits about sleep.

sometime tonight i'll vacuum the house (probably before the shows start) and make some dinner. i was hoping to make some soup but all we have is cream of whatever and nothing like i was hoping to have. so i'm probably going with gourmet grilled cheese tonight. mom left money for me but i doubt i go out to get anything.

that's all for me today kids. i need to get going so i can maybe get a cat nap as well tonight. i hope everyone had a great weekend. no one called, so i doubt anyone needed bail money. that's a shame.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a sucker punch from mother nature

so, this is how my morning started out. my back was killing me as the cold front was coming through. and then after seeing my mother off to her appointments for the day, this fucking shit happened out at the farm:

the beauty of all this is the wind is still fucking blowing, nearly 12 hours later. i have no clue how much this is going to cost to fix this, but i'm pretty sure there's going to be two numbers to the left of the comma. i can't wait to get rid of this place.

i haven't done much today other than try to sleep and forget about the morning. thankfully, my Sunday was much better.

my friend Paul came over to watch some of the early football games. for most of the time, we ended up watching some soccer from Italy. he doesn't have all the channels i do. that was a fun time.

he left before the Dayton Flyers took on Boston College. Dayton played pretty damn good, leading for nearly the entire game. i do like how they finished the game on a strong run. that's a great sign from a team playing their 3rd game in 4 days. here are some highlights from the 65-53 win.

after that, the New York Rangers destroyed Montreal 5-0. easily, the most complete game the Rangers have played all season. here are the highlights:

the Sunday night shows were excellent. The Newsroom was great. Homeland was holy fucking shit great. and The Affair was great as well. i could have watched all 3 of those shows all night long, that's how good they were.

tonight is my usual clusterfuck on television. i'll be bouncing between two football games (including the Saints at home against the Ravens. MUST FUCKING WIN TIME BOYS), Monday Night Raw, The Voice, and Gotham. i'll probably watch wrestling since they are coming off a very newsworthy ppv. of course, that means i'll be using YouTube late tonight to see what i missed on the other shows. also tonight, i'm going to try to squeeze in the Men in Blazers show on NBCSN.

my fantasy football teams did pretty good yesterday. i'm still convinced that the 3-8 team that has a 19 point lead going into tonight is going to find a way to blow it. but, i have won the other game by 49 points. that team is now 9-3.

that's all for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow after my appointment at the eye doctor. i'm interested to see just how fucking blind i am these days.

hope everyone had a great weekend. if not, blame it on Bill Cosby. i have a poem swimming in my head about him that could be fucking great.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

the joys of victory...

as i watched the New York Rangers fall behind last night, i was pretty fucking annoyed. but, for the first time this season, they showed some of the character they had last season on their run to the Stanley Cup Final. the Rangers were trailing 3-1 early in the 3rd period. they came back to tie the game in regulation, and then win it in OT. i'll take a 4-3 OT win over the fucking Devils any day of the week. that victory beer tasted sweet. below are some highlights...
you have to love a game winning goal from a defenseman that hardly ever scores... they play again on Saturday night up in Montreal. that is if there isn't anymore shootings up in Canada.

The Voice was good last night. i'm still going with Reagan James to win it, even though i feel like a dirty old man when i watch her perform. she's fucking amazing for 15 years old. the knockout rounds start next week. those should be interesting as the contestants pick the songs they perform. i've seen many a dream die with a bad choice.

i was a busy boy this morning sending out some poems. i had to do a quick change as one of the places i was sending to is currently closed for submissions. luckily, i've been at this long enough that none of that kind of shit throws me off. i sent out 22 poems in total. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and The Southern Review. i sent out 3 each to Pyrokinection, Napalm and Novocain, Dead Snakes, and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

mom and i went out to lunch today. i figured we'd go to the one sports bar she likes as it would be a good test for her hearing aid. let's just say i don't think her hearing aid is going to work out. the scary shit is she thinks her shunt may be acting up. of course, i try to play it cool, but if she's scared and she's the medical professional, what fucking right do i have to try to act like i'm not worried to death? we went to the store afterwards and she started to feel a little funny. not exactly dizzy but just weird. needless to say i drove us home. thank goodness i wasn't speeding when i saw the cop trying to bust drivers for it. and thank goodness i only had 1 beer while at the sports bar.

i watched a little of the champions league while i was at the sports bar. mostly, it was watching Real Madrid put on a show.

tonight i'll be watching American Horror Story and maybe some hockey or baseball. should be a relatively quiet night. of course, it's supposed to get down into the 30's tonight, so i'll definitely hear the furnace running.

that's pretty much all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

the joy of afternoon naps

hello again kids. here are your daily links for national poetry month:

http://www.nybooks.com/blogs/nyrblog/2014/apr/23/great-poets-brawl-68/
http://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/a-poets-glossary-by-edward-hirsch/2014/04/22/49b1cb56-c966-11e3-95f7-7ecdde72d2ea_story.html
http://www.edweek.org/tm/articles/2014/04/21/fp-raschka-poetry-books-teacher-lament.html

amazingly, i made it through last night without going completely insane. i was able to watch just about everything i wanted to last night. sadly, the sitcoms after The Voice had to be sacrificed last night. i need a damn DVR. anywho, here's my thoughts:

The Voice - was a little shocked at the final 3 as i thought Tess should have already been saved. thankfully, she did make it to the final 10.

Deadliest Catch - this looks like a really great season to watch. didn't even think how the government shutdown would affect them. should be a crazy, intense ride.

the New York Yankees beat the shit out of the Red Sox last night 9-3. i'm convinced that Tanaka is the second coming of (name your favorite pitcher of all time here). hopefully they can keep it rolling tonight.

the New York Rangers played a complete, solid game last night and won 4-1. i love that they are frustrating the Flyers to the point where they are making stupid guarantees now for game 4. LOVE it. can't wait to watch them lose again. game 4 is on Friday.

tonight will be a little baseball, some playoff hockey, hopefully sneak in Legit and Ali G. and then some late night tv.

i watched The Tonight Show last night and was pleasantly thrilled with Rita Ora. not my type of music per se, but DAMN, i do believe i have found my new dream woman. that should spice up my nights and hopefully get me out of the high school remembrances of nightmares.

that's all for me kids. be well. be creative. be the change that the fucker down the street refuses to believe in. and then shit that change out on his front porch.

peace and chicken grease my enemies...
