i am hoping it stays sunny today as my arthritis has been horrible the last couple of days. i don't really need any more pain while doing my laundry today.
so, after i went to Rite Aid yesterday, i watched the Ohio State game. i was a little disappointed they weren't better on offense, but i have absolutely no complaints about Ohio State's defense yesterday. they beat Penn State 20-12.
Manchester United won yesterday at Sheffield United, 2-1.
the New York Rangers won last night in Seattle, 4-1. that was a good start to their road trip. and congrats to Jonathan Quick on his first win as a Ranger.
i did watch a few college football games yesterday.
AEW Collision and AEW Battle of the Belts were both pretty good last night.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.
Austin City Limits was great last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Billions, Last Week Tonight, Shining Vale and Power Book IV: Force.
i will probably watch some NFL games today while doing my laundry.
mom wanted pizza last night so i ordered some Pizza Hut. felt good not having to cook. i imagine the rest of it will be dinner tonight as well.
i should be on here tomorrow after mom has her physical therapy appointment.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
until tomorrow kids...

it is in the 40's here, dreary as fucking hell. good times. i got my Amazon.com order for the baseball card sleeves. so, i know what i'll be doing once i get this blog done.
the New York Rangers won again last night, in Nashville, 3-1. that's 3 wins in a row on the road. i really like how they are playing so far this season.
the USWNT played South Korea to a 0-0 draw last night in their friendly.
Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
United States of Al was good last night.
B Positive was very good last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was about XPW last night. the season finale is next week.
What We Do in the Shadows was crazy last night. the season finale is next week as well.
Cake was weird as always last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
my sister will be down here this afternoon for the weekend.
i will most likely be on here in the morning tomorrow. the Rangers play in the afternoon and Ohio State plays tomorrow night.
i got my mother's Christmas gifts ordered last night. i figured i needed to buy some soft sleeves on Amazon for my baseball cards and they were actually in stock. so, i decided to just get everything at once and get it over with. this way, it will be here long before any backlogs in orders, etc.
i did go out to Meijer today to look for some things for mom. i did find a couple things she wanted. then, i went over to Big Lots to get some baseball cards. i had a $10 off coupon i needed to use. i ended up spending around $40 on the cards. i think i might have broke even in total. i got two short prints from 2019 Topps Heritage and i got an Aaron Judge card that is worth a little money. all in all, not bad.
NXT last night was excellent.
AEW was fucking great last night as well.
Big Brother was good last night. i fully expect Cody to evict Christmas tonight.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Desus & Mero. i watched NXT UK this afternoon on WWE Network. it was pretty good.
i will probably watch some of the football game tonight between the Giants and Eagles.
i have no need to watch the presidential debate. my absentee ballot has already been mailed in and received.
i'm probably going to be on here tomorrow being doing loads of my laundry.
it's been really warm today, like upper 70's. i decided to air out the house a bit since i know come this weekend, the furnace will be back on. it's supposed to be in the 40's for the weekend. joy.
my mother is sleeping at the moment, which she does all day long anymore. i think she has become a cat.

i started my physical therapy today. i thought it was going to be for the carpal tunnel. of course, it wasn't. it was for the pinched nerve in my neck. they are hoping they can resolve that and that will solve the problems in my hand. that's a hail mary at best i believe. but, i go twice a week for the next 3 weeks. i'm hoping at the very least i no longer have any pain in my neck or shooting pains running down my right arm.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Deuce was fucking amazing last night. the series finale is next week.
The Voice was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Total Divas, Mr. Mercedes, Mayans M.C. and The Jim Jefferies Show.
the New York Rangers will look to end their losing streak tonight against the Coyotes. hopefully, they will find a way to get a win.
the NBA season starts tonight. i'll probably watch a little of the late game, Lakers vs. Clippers.
i believe my sister is coming down tonight so she'll be here in the morning to take me to the hospital to have my upper GI looked at. i'm hoping they don't find anything but i'm pretty sure my luck with my health has run the fuck out. she'll have to drive me home since i will be knocked out for the procedure. i'm really hoping they give me the good shit.
i will do a blog after i get home and am somewhat coherent. it's going to be interesting, especially since i have a physical therapy session on Thursday. joy.
that's all for me kids, i still have trash to pick up.

Drew Brees threw his 500th and 501st touchdown passes yesterday. when the Saints were up and the Ravens were driving, i was really hoping the defense would find a way to make a stand. silly me, the Ravens went right down the field and scored a touchdown. thanks to an act of Mother Nature, the Ravens kicker, who had NEVER missed an extra point in his professional career, missed the kick. Saints won 24-23. that's a huge fucking win on the road and that gives Drew Brees a victory over every team in the NFL.
the New York Rangers lost to Calgary last night, 4-1. to be honest, i didn't watch much of the game at all. i figure there's going to be plenty of games like that this season.
America to Me was pretty good last night. the series finale is next week.
Shameless was great last night. i'm a little pissed the show won't be on again until January, but i'll get over it.
Kidding was fucking great last night.
The Deuce was excellent last night.
Camping was pretty funny last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Stolen Daughters: Kidnapped by Boko Haram. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i woke up this morning to 5 poems being rejected by North of Oxford. not exactly the way i hoped to start a Monday, but oh well.
i will be on here tomorrow after mom has her eye surgery on her left eye and after Manchester United plays Juventus in the Champions League.
physical therapy went very well today. i don't have to go back. my therapist showed me another exercise to add to my routine. i told him i've been doing the stretching and exercises four times a day here the last few days and the back has really responded. so, that will be the plan going forward. hopefully, i won't have to have any physical therapy for the rest of the year.
i mailed off my mother's and my absentee ballots today. so i guess i'm back in the system now.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

in hindsight, i was thankful the Yankees loss last night wasn't a dramatic gut punch like 2001 was. i still think about that fucking loss to this day. the Yankees only had 3 hits last night. you have to be perfect to win a game with just 3 hits. the Yankees lost last night 4-0. their inability to do anything on offense while in Houston cost them this series. oh well, they are young enough that hopefully this lights a fire in them to come back better than ever for years to come. next year will be the real test since they won't surprise anyone after this year.
as soon as the game was over, i started to shave. i have a superstition about playoff beards. so, now all my attention will turn to hockey, college basketball and the New Orleans Saints.
ROH was excellent last night.
George Michael: Freedom was very good last night. those songs certainly took me back to my childhood.
Austin City Limits was great last night. i don't think the Zac Brown Band gets enough credit for just how good of a band they really are.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Ray Donovan, The Deuce, Vice Principals and Curb Your Enthusiasm. i'll be watching WWE TLC most of the evening on WWE Network.
the New Orleans Saints play today at Green Bay. the Saints are favored in the game, so i am hoping they actually do win and everyone else playing in the division loses.
i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her follow up appointment for her hip.
i hope everyone had a better Saturday than i did. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

i woke up this Saturday morning with a poem swimming in my mind. there was this striking, beautiful woman yesterday in the grocery store that i knew i had to write about. i chose to get a little sleep before i wrote about it though. so, after about 5 hours, i got up and picked up my pen. i ended up writing three poems, which i typed up this morning. i really like all 3. i have no clue where i will send them though. i'm waiting to see if any poems get accepted in my latest round of submissions.
the grocery store was a little interesting yesterday. certainly enough characters that i should be able to write a few more poems. mom didn't have much laundry for me to do when i got back home, so that was a breeze to get done.
Vice News Tonight was excellent once again last night.
NJPW was great last night. i never get tired of watching Okada defeat Tanahashi.
the season finale of High Maintenance last night was excellent. i can't wait to see what they come up with for season 2.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits and ROH.
i'll be going to the annual Red and Blue Game today at the University of Dayton. this will be the first year in a long time i'll be going alone. it will be nice to see some college basketball once again. this will be the first time the men have taken the court since Big Steve died, so i'm expecting some emotions today. here are some highlights from last season's game:
when i get back home tonight, i'll be watching Ohio State play at Penn State.
also, the New York Rangers play tonight at Washington. tonight would be a good night for that first road win.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays at Chelsea. that game will go right into the New Orleans Saints game tomorrow afternoon.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

well, i got the news on my uncle today. they believe it is colon cancer. and the cancer is so involved with the intestines and other shit, that they aren't going to do any surgery. so i suppose when he told my mother that he felt like he was going to die this year, he was probably prophetic in that statement. like this family doesn't hate the holidays enough... my mother is crushed by this news. she can't understand how the cancer never showed up of any scans or tests over the last year. i have no clue how my sister is taking this as she is much closer to my uncle than i am. i can't help but think that both my sister and i have colon cancer on both sides of our family now. talk about losing the genetic lottery. i have no clue what is going to happen next. i suppose hospice care at home is the most likely, which my mother has already told me i'm on shit duty. good times. as you might imagine, chalk today up as another one i'd love to forget.
Manchester United got a 1-1 draw yesterday against CSKA Moscow. any point on the road is a good one but i can't help but think if the two mistakes in the first half didn't happen, United leaves with all 3 points. i blame their goal more on Phil Jones than Anthony Martial. sure, the handball is inexcusable in the box but who the fuck falls asleep on a penalty kick. De Gea did his job making the save, Phil has to get to that ball first. Martial tied the game in the second half with a well placed header. hopefully they can put the game out of their heads quickly as they have the Manchester derby on Sunday.
NXT was interesting last night. the women, as always, were excellent. Asuka will be excellent in the company. the other matches were ok but nothing special. that should change in 2 weeks when Apollo Crews takes on Finn Balor.
our DIRECTV fucked up right at 10 PM last night. it was like everything was fucking frozen. 30 minutes later everything was back to working. i have no fucking clue what happened. all i know is the shit froze right as American Horror Story: Hotel was getting ready to record.
so my disjointed viewing of American Horror Story last night made it really interesting. the show was excellent once again. the cast this season is close to perfect. Lady Gaga has fit much better than i thought she would.
You're The Worst answered the big question that the show was teasing for weeks. i'm really interested to see how they handle clinical depression in a comedy show.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown, mostly so i can see the debut of Tyler Breeze. he's a guy that should have been up on the main roster a long time ago. he absolutely owns the Prince Pretty gimmick.
the New York Rangers face the Coyotes tonight, or as i 'm calling it the return of Anthony Duclair. i really hope he doesn't put on a show tonight. but, i fear that he would love to show us fans what we're missing.
i don't have anyone going in the NFL game tonight. i'll probably watch some of it as both Seattle and San Francisco hate each other. amazingly (knock on wood) i don't have many injury concerns this week in fantasy football. i can't believe all 3 of my teams are on 5 game winning streaks. that's bound to end sometime. hopefully not soon.
i'm still on my mother's rarely used laptop. i have set it up in the kitchen. mostly because i'm too lazy to take apart the old computer to make room for this in my room. it's interesting sitting here with just some slow music playing. we have 8 windows in the kitchen, so my imagination tends to start to go a little nuts at times. hopefully it makes for some interesting poems.
mom is talking to me right now about how my sister is adamant that my uncle gets a second opinion. after seeing what happened to my stepfather in this town with cancer, i'm with her. with the facilities in Columbus and Cleveland, it wouldn't hurt for him to get a second opinion. fuck, once again, cancer has taken over my fucking life.
as i watched the New York Rangers fall behind last night, i was pretty fucking annoyed. but, for the first time this season, they showed some of the character they had last season on their run to the Stanley Cup Final. the Rangers were trailing 3-1 early in the 3rd period. they came back to tie the game in regulation, and then win it in OT. i'll take a 4-3 OT win over the fucking Devils any day of the week. that victory beer tasted sweet. below are some highlights...
you have to love a game winning goal from a defenseman that hardly ever scores... they play again on Saturday night up in Montreal. that is if there isn't anymore shootings up in Canada.
The Voice was good last night. i'm still going with Reagan James to win it, even though i feel like a dirty old man when i watch her perform. she's fucking amazing for 15 years old. the knockout rounds start next week. those should be interesting as the contestants pick the songs they perform. i've seen many a dream die with a bad choice.
i was a busy boy this morning sending out some poems. i had to do a quick change as one of the places i was sending to is currently closed for submissions. luckily, i've been at this long enough that none of that kind of shit throws me off. i sent out 22 poems in total. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and The Southern Review. i sent out 3 each to Pyrokinection, Napalm and Novocain, Dead Snakes, and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.
mom and i went out to lunch today. i figured we'd go to the one sports bar she likes as it would be a good test for her hearing aid. let's just say i don't think her hearing aid is going to work out. the scary shit is she thinks her shunt may be acting up. of course, i try to play it cool, but if she's scared and she's the medical professional, what fucking right do i have to try to act like i'm not worried to death? we went to the store afterwards and she started to feel a little funny. not exactly dizzy but just weird. needless to say i drove us home. thank goodness i wasn't speeding when i saw the cop trying to bust drivers for it. and thank goodness i only had 1 beer while at the sports bar.
i watched a little of the champions league while i was at the sports bar. mostly, it was watching Real Madrid put on a show.
tonight i'll be watching American Horror Story and maybe some hockey or baseball. should be a relatively quiet night. of course, it's supposed to get down into the 30's tonight, so i'll definitely hear the furnace running.
that's pretty much all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

it might snow some tonight. probably no accumulation, but still...
nothing really happened today. got the mail, none for me. read the paper, same old news. watched some Champions League on tv but fell asleep. looked at porn. jerked off a few times. tinkered with the waiver claims for my fantasy football teams. another bye week where i could get fucked over. all in all, one of those days where it's just blah.
i really enjoyed Monday Night Raw last night. i think it was a strong show going into a ppv.
The Voice was pretty good last night. i was a little stunned at a couple of the selections. tonight should be a really good one.
i think there is a show on PBS this evening that i want to watch as well. i suppose i should actually check to see if it is on or not first.
other than that, i might flip between hockey games this evening. looks like the injury bug is creeping into my fantasy hockey team. not good.
hopefully tomorrow i will have something of substance to report on or bitch about. today was literally one of those days where i looked up at the clock and was like shit, it's 5 PM, i suppose i should do something more than just the dishes today.
music:
AC/DC - Blow Up Your Video

i got up later than i normally do this morning, throwing my entire rhythm off. it's on days like this that i realize how superstitious and crazy i really am at times. oh well.
i went out to feed the cats a little later than normal and noticed some sad shit. when i closed the door to the stall, i noticed one cat slinking in under the other door. not a big deal. then, i noticed that it was my cat Michael Jackson, dragging himself because, apparently, he can no longer use his hind legs. so, i know damn well that cat won't be along much longer. i'll be slightly shocked if i see it come morning.
i had a decent Sunday fantasy football wise. i'm leading in both matches, though it won't be until tonight that i will know if i win both of them or not. fingers are crossed.
as for the Sunday night shows...
Boardwalk Empire was brilliant as usual.
Eastbound and Down looks like it will be hilarious once again. it's the final season, so i hope they pull out all the stops.
Hello Ladies looks like it is going to be really funny and sad at the same time. it hit way too close to home on my own unspectacular dating life.
over to Showtime...
Homeland is one of my favorite shows ever. it doesn't look like this season is going to do anything to change that.
Masters of Sex was the winner for me last night. this show is pretty close to perfect in my eyes. history, which i love, sex, which i love more, some great writing and acting, it will be a show i will definitely look forward to each week.
tonight will be plenty of bouncing between The Voice and Monday Night Raw. i'm sure i will throw in some NFL and baseball as well, though i will probably just follow them online more than anything.
i did happen to catch a little of the Yankees finishing off their season yesterday with a win in 14 innings. they finish the season at 85-77. i found that funny because i believe the over/under number at the beginning of the season for win was 84 1/2. yet another example of why i don't gamble anymore.
if i happen to find myself up at 3 in the morning like i was last night, i figure i will go through some poems and decide where to send some stuff. after having a couple more places decide on what they wanted, i definitely have more poems to choose from now.
that is all. hope this finds you in a better mood than me.

mid 70's today. the bugs have gone crazy thinking it's time to be out and about. too bad the sun forgot to show up for most of the day. of course, that could just be out here. i may have permanent clouds.
i will be rooting big time for the Chicago Bears tonight. if they win, chances are, i win. their victory means i would have picked every game of week 7 of the NFL correctly. been a long time since i have done that. and, i think i may be in the running for some prizes from the pick 'em leagues i'm in. fingers are crossed.
other than that, not much going on here. the President and Vice President will be nearby tomorrow. thankfully, i will not be near that traffic nightmare. will be hard to avoid on the television unfortunately. if i could block all political programming i absolutely would. from both sides. driving me insane quicker than i drive myself.
so, some Monday Night Football on tap. along with The Voice and Monday Night Raw. let's see how quick i can give myself carpal tunnel...
