a cold, dreary day...

i might have got almost 5 hours of sleep last night. some weird dreams, but that's nothing new. the grocery shopping went pretty well today. i got really lucky with getting gas today at Kroger. i had $1 off to use, so i ended up getting gas for $1.65 after that $1 off. as soon as i got done filling up, the price changed to $3.09. add in that the woman running the cash register today didn't scan my Dial Body Wash... the little victories mean so much these days.

The Voice last night was really good.

both episodes of St. Denis Medical were hilarious last night.

NXT was very good last night.

the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Winnipeg, 6-3.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer, Abbott Elementary and Inside the NFL.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Ball St. Dayton is 16.5 point favorites tonight. hopefully, they win by more than that.

it is supposed to rain here tonight, so i'm really hoping Dayton wins to temper the misery that will be going on in this house of arthritis.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get mom's eyedrops from Kroger. they of course texted her 2 hours after i was done shopping saying they were ready. good times.

i guess the convicted felon president elect is only going to select those that kiss his fat ass the best to be in his cabinet. i'm fully convinced now that he's going to try to fuck the constitution and just stay in the job until he dies. i guess democracy was a hell of an experiment. as Burroughs said years ago, humans are the disease. we will fuck anything up given enough chances to do so. what i am really going to love is when 70 million people start bitching that their taxes went up. and what a joy this dystopian nightmare will be with no regulations and no checks and balances.

i will hopefully write some poems tonight. i have a few ready to go and a place in mind to send them.

i need to get going on dinner, so that's all for me today kids...

spring is nearly here...

it was warm enough today that i didn't need to wear a jacket. or a hoodie. of course, my bones are telling me rain is on the way. i did open up the house today. mom liked that.

grocery shopping went pretty well today. i was able to get everything on the list. i can tell you this, no one in this fucking area has any baseball cards. i got 2 binders at Meijer and some new Batman shit i hadn't seen before today. i needed the binders to help lessen the load in a couple other binders. at least i have all my Bowman baseball cards in one binder now.

The Voice was very good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers lost at Pittsburgh last night, 4-2.

the Yankees play the Pirates tonight.

i wrote 3 poems before i went to bed last night. i had the opening stanza to the first poem trapped in my head for 3 days. i know i need to get some poems out this weekend.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, Snowfall and The Masked Singer.

Manchester United plays in the Europa League tomorrow at home against AC Milan. i'll get to watch some of it before i have to leave for a doctor's appointment.

i should be on here tomorrow when i get back from that doctor's appointment.

the winds of hell arrive...

it has been really windy today. the sky has looked like rain all damn day and it hasn't got out of the 60's all day long. i'm hoping it will fucking rain soon as i'm sick of the ache. i feel like i have gone through every ice pack we have today. joy.

i did watch all of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final last night. as a guy who loves to see everything Boston choke in a final, i was a happy man last night. here are your highlights:

NXT was really good last night.

The Wrestlers was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lip Sync Battle, Life in Pieces, Desus & Mero and Baskets.

i did listen to episode 242 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

the New York Yankees start a 4 game series tonight in Chicago against the White Sox. hopefully, the Yankees can get back to winning series again. they are in first place in the division by a 1/2 game.

i did watch a little of the Women's World Cup today. China vs. South Africa did help me get a little more sleep.

Game 6 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i will probably watch some of that, especially near the end of the game. as much as i would love to see a Game 7, i won't believe it until i see it happen.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

the wind is so damn bad here it blew open the door that goes into our garage. good times.

a million things to do with no time to think

this is one of those days where i have a million fucking things to do and not nearly enough time to get all this shit done. thankfully, mom's eye surgery went well. she was right when she said it would take longer to get set up than the actual process. she was a little nervous, but thankfully she should be less nervous next week when she has the left eye done. i wrote 7 poems while i was there. i typed those up this afternoon. i think they are pretty good. that gives me 16 poems for the month.

The Voice was very good last night. i'm so happy they have started the Battle Rounds.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, Mayans M.C. and The Voice.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Colorado. i will probably watch some of the game.

the USA Men's National Team plays a soccer friendly tonight against Peru. i will probably watch some of that as well.

on top of all that, i have to vacuum the house and round up all the trash and get that down to the curb, here and next door.

on top of all that, i had to run out to the local grocery store to get some chicken gravy because mom forgot to put it on the list and then forgot to tell me to get it over the weekend. joy.

so yeah, i'm a little busy. all part of actually living i suppose.

i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. it will most likely be after the WWE airs NXT UK on WWE Network. wrestling at 3 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. sure, why not.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

thoughts and prayers = laughter

the Jesus freaks on Google+ have found me i guess. i get these messages every day from people wanting to pray for me. that's all fine and good, but i'm old enough to know there's always a fucking catch. i think i talk to them to simply be entertained. i love to see what methods criminals use to try to trick me. it is even more fun when i don't have money to foolishly give away.

the New York Yankees game was rained out last night. they will make up that game against the Mets in August. the Yankees start a series down in that dump in Tampa tonight. the Yankees are currently 5 games behind Boston in the division.

Big Brother was pretty good last night.

Total Bellas was good last night.

Power was excellent last night.

Sharp Objects was great last night.

Succession was excellent last night. this show gets better with each episode.

The Affair was really good last night.

Who is America? was fucking bizarre last night. i'm not sure how the state rep. from Georgia keeps his job.

Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night.

i did follow the Manchester United game yesterday online. i'm not sure why as the game with San Jose finished 0-0.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i'll probably be writing out bills tonight and getting another piece of mail ready to send to the muse as well.

i'd like to thank John Sweet for his nice little blog post about my latest chapbook. it is greatly appreciated my friend.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i'll be on here tomorrow afternoon most likely. it will probably be between loads of laundry.

on the way back...

i was actually able to sleep in my own bed last night and not cough myself awake every couple minutes. i got close to 6 hours of sleep. i've only had a few coughing fits today, so i want to believe the worst is over. so that means i'm going to be busy as fuck this weekend catching up on everything; mostly poems and laundry.

the grocery store was really picked over by the time mom and i got there. hell, i had to go to the smaller grocery store in town to get my bread. and they are still moving shit all around at the main grocery store we go to. i had the whole fucking store memorized and now it's changed. i figure once i get that down, they'll change it again. the fuckers.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Boston, 5-4. they were down 4-0 and came back to tie the game. of course, Aaron Boone made the mistake of allowing Betances to go out for his second inning of work and he gave up the winning run. oh well. the Yankees did win the series against Boston and are still tied for first place in the division. they start a series at home tonight against Oakland.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the season finale of The Big Bang Theory was excellent last night.

the season finale of Young Sheldon was very good last night.

Gotham was fucking amazing last night. the ending certainly set up what should be a very entertaining season finale next week.

the season finale of Atlanta was great last night.

here are your highlights from Game 7 last night between Nashville and Winnipeg:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Major League Wrestling, Real Time with Bill Maher, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas and Kevin Smith: Silent But Deadly.

i'll probably watch some of the NHL playoffs tonight. Game 1 between Tampa and Washington should be a good one.

the pollen count here lately has been off the fucking charts. that certainly isn't helping me fight this fucking cold. i think that's why it has taken me so long. at least that's the theory i'm going with.

my sister is coming down tomorrow to spend most of the weekend here for Mother's Day. i guess i should get the rest of what i'm giving mom ready.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. i will probably spend a good portion of tonight and early tomorrow sending out poems.

that's all for me kids.

the joys of victory...

as i watched the New York Rangers fall behind last night, i was pretty fucking annoyed. but, for the first time this season, they showed some of the character they had last season on their run to the Stanley Cup Final. the Rangers were trailing 3-1 early in the 3rd period. they came back to tie the game in regulation, and then win it in OT. i'll take a 4-3 OT win over the fucking Devils any day of the week. that victory beer tasted sweet. below are some highlights...
you have to love a game winning goal from a defenseman that hardly ever scores... they play again on Saturday night up in Montreal. that is if there isn't anymore shootings up in Canada.

The Voice was good last night. i'm still going with Reagan James to win it, even though i feel like a dirty old man when i watch her perform. she's fucking amazing for 15 years old. the knockout rounds start next week. those should be interesting as the contestants pick the songs they perform. i've seen many a dream die with a bad choice.

i was a busy boy this morning sending out some poems. i had to do a quick change as one of the places i was sending to is currently closed for submissions. luckily, i've been at this long enough that none of that kind of shit throws me off. i sent out 22 poems in total. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and The Southern Review. i sent out 3 each to Pyrokinection, Napalm and Novocain, Dead Snakes, and The Camel Saloon. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

mom and i went out to lunch today. i figured we'd go to the one sports bar she likes as it would be a good test for her hearing aid. let's just say i don't think her hearing aid is going to work out. the scary shit is she thinks her shunt may be acting up. of course, i try to play it cool, but if she's scared and she's the medical professional, what fucking right do i have to try to act like i'm not worried to death? we went to the store afterwards and she started to feel a little funny. not exactly dizzy but just weird. needless to say i drove us home. thank goodness i wasn't speeding when i saw the cop trying to bust drivers for it. and thank goodness i only had 1 beer while at the sports bar.

i watched a little of the champions league while i was at the sports bar. mostly, it was watching Real Madrid put on a show.

tonight i'll be watching American Horror Story and maybe some hockey or baseball. should be a relatively quiet night. of course, it's supposed to get down into the 30's tonight, so i'll definitely hear the furnace running.

that's pretty much all for me today. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

what happens when an insomniac sleeps in

amazingly, i got some sleep last night. now, before you get too happy, it wasn't good sleep. two hours in my chair, two hours in the bed and then, after being disgusted that i was up at 6:30, two more hours in my bed. i haven't got that much sleep in months. hopefully, that will help me stay awake for everything going on today.

the Yankees won last night, 4-2. was nice to see Chase Whitley get his first major league win, even though DRob threatened to fuck it up again in the 9th. that victory beer became a victory rum and coke, with more rum than normal. i think that explains the sleep. the Yankees play tonight but i doubt i will be able to see it. i believe it is on FOX tonight, so it will only be seen in New York and Kansas City. i'll hunt around to see if i find the feed on Directv somewhere, but i won't have my hopes up.

i watched a good portion of Portugal vs. Mexico last night. wanted to scout Portugal a bit since they are in the same group of death with the USA. Portugal won late, 1-0.

here in a little bit i will start my crazy sports day. first up will be the USA vs. Nigeria in their final tune up for the World Cup. before that is over, The Belmont Stakes will be running as California Chrome tries to become the first Triple Crown winner since 1978. and after that is over, the New York Rangers play Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Kings. this is a MUST WIN game for the Rangers. after all that, and hopefully a few victory beers, i'll be watching the new episode of ROH. i'm hoping their ppv coming up is at a good price. i might just be ordering it.

saw a news story today about how fast the internet is in Chattanooga, Tennessee. blew my mind. might have to check out moving there.

it's warmed up here today, just in time to create some havoc for tomorrow morning. the crops are looking pretty good, but a little rain every few days makes them look so much better. and that always leads to making more money off of them.

i finally got the check i was waiting for in the mail today. so, looks like i will have more stories from the bank on Monday.

that's all for today. hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend. i'll be on here in the morning tomorrow, after breakfast and trash duty. and hopefully before it starts to rain and after feeding the damn cats. good times.

be well. be creative. be the cool motherfucker in the bar that everyone knows better than to fuck with. be the prankster. be the gangster. be the only prick that can actually play the guitar.

just how i wanted to start my holiday weekend

in case you don't know me, i hate fucking losing. hate it with a passion that most people believe is psychotic. so, last night was one tough pill to swallow.

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night, 3-2. i was thrilled when they scored late to force overtime, given that they had been outplayed for nearly 40 straight minutes. but, 72 seconds into OT, the game was over. i was very pissed at how many times the Rangers refused to make the simple play. the KISS theory (keep it simple stupid) works amazingly well in the playoffs. of course, it wouldn't be a playoff game this year without some HORRIFIC officiating. and i'm talking about shit that refs in the minor leagues don't miss. the Rangers are still up 2-1 in the series, but Game 4 is a MUST win to regain all the momentum in the series. sadly, they don't play again until Sunday, so this loss will fester for way too long.

the New York Yankees lost 3-2 last night in a game where they were manhandled by the White Sox for most of it. 3 damn hits for the entire game. i was a little amazed that they actually had a chance to win the game late. the White Sox starter owns the Yankees in his career, so i wasn't very surprised. hopefully they can win tonight.

so, i had a night of some shitty sleeping in great sleeping weather. i got up this morning to get all the shit done i needed to do today so i could get the grass mowed and over with so i might actually have a chance of enjoying my evening. so i go down to get the paper and for the second straight day, it wasn't where it was supposed to be. we have a tube for it with the paper's name on it, so you would think any dumb fuck would think to put it there. at least yesterday it was in plastic. today, it wasn't. and the wind tends to fucking blow out here in the sticks. and, i wasn't about to walk over planted fields to get the parts of the paper that had blown across the road. people get shot for shit like that out here. we're supposed to have another one brought out here, which i will believe it when i see it.

as you might imagine, my frustration level at this point is through the fucking roof. now i get to go out and mow the grass with this thick ass playoff beard on me that will only make me hotter and more pissed. can't wait to count the number of insects that get caught in it while i'm flying around like a madman in about 30 minutes. good times.

not sure what i'm going to watch tonight. probably some baseball. if my anger hasn't gone down, there might be some writing or painting in my future. i do like how my anger often leads to creativity. i suppose that's better than the alternative, murdering the world.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. chances are it will be after the Champions League final.

hope everyone has a great weekend. hope everyone enjoys the holiday and has some fun. i'm off to go get a sunburn and scare the shit out of some cats.

who turned the sun off?

this whole damn day has been gloomy, cloudy, and quite honestly, fucking cold. the wind has been whipping so it feels like it has been in the mid 40's the entire time. i had to turn the damn heat back on. fucking crazy. and it's not looking like it's going to get warmer anytime soon. just lovely.

i took an afternoon nap today that i must have needed. i was watching something and next thing i know it's 2 hours later. that should come in handy with some late basketball this evening. i may have that on in the background as i send out some poems via email. at least that sounds like a plan.

i do plan on watching the season finale of The Big Bang Theory tonight. other than that, it will be a night of some baseball, playoff basketball and god knows what else.

the Yankees got what they needed from Tanaka last night. a complete game 4 hitter from him and some runs from the offense to win 4-0. they are playing right now actually as i'm typing this. they have a kid going tonight, making his MLB debut. so do the Mets. this game could be really fucking ugly before too long. hopefully the Yankees win to split the series.

we had a tornado hit a few counties from us last night. i wasn't joking when i said the skies were getting dark. thankfully, they blew up after they passed over us.

i'll have news of some poems being sent out tomorrow, which means a trip to the local post office. depending on when i go, that usually gets interesting. interesting in the please god, kill me before i get that old kind of interesting.

it's kind of shitty that the St. Louis family had to move the funeral of the mother to Sunday because the NHL and whoever else wouldn't move the Rangers game to Saturday night. it's hard to imagine how great this league could be if they weren't so fucking clueless. hopefully the Rangers use that as fuel in their series with Montreal, which also happens to be where the funeral is. they haven't faced each other in the playoffs since 1996. it also means an original six team will be in the finals. hopefully it's the one i want it to be.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. probably the afternoon, hell, maybe early evening like this. kind of depends how much i get done early in the morning. if i choose sleep, i will be typing all afternoon. fun.

hope this finds everyone well. and certainly warmer than here.

learning how to deal with pain

i woke up this morning feeling like shit. not sick, but full of pain. and not the kind of pain that means a rush to the hospital. more like the kind of pain that goes with oncoming cold fronts and my arthritis probably getting worse. good times. so, i knew pretty damn early i wasn't going to be mowing the grass feeling like that. but, i'm 2 weeks behind on my laundry and the toilets need cleaned. so you can imagine what my afternoon has been.

my last load of laundry is in the dryer and as soon as i get this blog done i get to do some dishes. i figure what i'm really doing is keeping my mind off of the Rangers second round playoff game tonight against the Penguins. not sure if my back appreciates my brain seeking a little vacation.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-2. the pitching, other than Tanaka, has been spotty to say the least and the offense has gone cold for the last few games. they play against Tampa tonight. i doubt i watch much of it given the Rangers game. maybe during intermissions.

i did enjoy the Star Wars episode of The Big Bang Theory last night. that did make me laugh pretty good. most of the rest of the night was spent watching hockey and basketball. that's probably what tonight will be as well.

mom went back to work today. not sure how she's doing as she hasn't called. i figure most of the day was spent showing people the scar. i'm hoping she has had a pretty good day. i figure if i can get the dishes done before she gets home, i will have at least done my part.

with that being said, that's all for me today folks. hope everyone has a great weekend in store. mine will be filled with some sports and not much sleep. i'm hoping to have a writing session at some point this weekend, maybe get a few good poems out of it.

be well. be creative. be sure to treat your inner geek on May 4th. and then be sure to treat that geek to some pussy afterwards. or dick, i know there are some women and gay men that enjoy Star Wars as well.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the late afternoon. hopefully after a few victory beers.

peace and chicken grease.
