damn near perfect weather...

i love when i can open up the house in the morning and let the air flow. now, i know damn well it will be too hot soon enough that i won't be able to do this, so i'm hoping i can enjoy it today. i wrote 4 more poems last night before i went to bed. i am pretty happy that the flow has continued. no noises from the attic this morning and nothing in the trap on the roof. now i have to be sure to be aware of the smell of death... more poems i suppose.

the New York Yankees won last night at Baltimore, 2-0. hopefully, they will win again this afternoon.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

say goodbye to the playoff beard...

so, i was really hoping i was going to be talking about a Rangers victory today. instead, i was shaving off my beard last night, wondering yet again, what the fuck happened. the Rangers lost last night at New Jersey, 4-0, to lose the series 4-3. judging from the postgame comments, i really think the Rangers are going to have to make some changes to the team. and that is going to be difficult as they have some big name big price players that need to move and there won't be many teams willing to do anything unless the Rangers will be eating some of the contracts. so, i'm going to be really curious to see what Chris Drury does this summer to the roster. it is painfully obvious, they need more will and less skill as that skill never fucking showed up in the playoffs.

the New York Yankees are now inventing ways to lose. they were up 2-0 last night on Cleveland and Aaron Boone needlessly took out his starter after 88 pitches to go to his closer and sure enough, Cleveland scored 3 runs in the 9th to win, 3-2. between the injuries, bad luck and incompetence, the Yankees are in last place in the division. joy.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

The Voice was really good last night.

That's My Jam was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, MLW and Deadliest Catch.

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.

the New York Knicks play Game 2 tonight at home against Miami. hopefully, the Knicks will find a way to even the series.

i went to the bank today and Rite Aid. i also stopped by Walgreens and Big Lots, looking for baseball cards. amazingly, i found not only some baseball cards, but some football and hockey cards.

i need to pick up the trash tonight and get dinner going.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

making the most of wasting time...

so, after i got done at the UPS store yesterday, i headed over to Big Lots. they had nothing, completely wiped out of any baseball or basketball cards. well fuck. i went to the Dollar Store right next door, and they didn't have anything either. well shit.

i got home in time to watch the Yankees game. when they fell behind yesterday, 4-1, i was very interested if they could come from behind and win. sure enough, the Yankees scored the next 5 runs to sweep the series, 6-4. that's 9 straight wins.3 straight series sweeps. they start a series tonight in Toronto against the Blue Jays.

i did catch some MLS games yesterday. that new stadium in Nashville looks good.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs yesterday:

VICE was good last night.

The Man Who Fell To Earth was excellent last night.

Ziwe was fucking hilarious last night.

Gaslit was amazing last night.

Barry was great last night.

The Baby was creepy as hell last night. loved it.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and American Song Contest.

i did listen to episode 393 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:

the NHL playoffs start tonight. i can't wait. the Rangers series with the Penguins starts tomorrow.

Manchester United plays Brentford today at Old Trafford. i almost could give a shit.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

always a good sign...

i woke up this morning with a poem in my head that made me laugh. that's always a good sign.

i think i might have slept just about 5 hours last night. that's better than normal, so i'm assuming getting some sun yesterday did the trick.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

Betty was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.

i'm hoping the rest of today is going to be nice before the rain comes in tonight. we've got the house opened up a bit and it feels like napping weather.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

stay healthy.

sometimes the pain is like an old friend...

it's been really humid here the last day or so. i don't want to run the air conditioner this early in the year, but sweating myself to sleep isn't exactly how i want to spend my nights. there was a dense fog this morning and we're supposed to have more storms tonight. these are the nights where i dream about curling up next to a needle and a spoon. joy.

mom's doctor's appointment today was actually just for a DNA test for this study on Alzheimer's. given that both her parents had dementia, they thought she would be a good candidate for the test. so i have dementia coming from my mom's side and colon cancer coming from my dad's side. and i should be positive about my future. once again, apologies to my 8 year old self who obviously was a fucking soothsayer and knew what was coming.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday in Arizona, 3-2. i'm not sure why MLB has a replay rule if they aren't going to get the fucking calls right after watching replays for 2 minutes. the Yankees are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow night against the Twins.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

NXT, NXT UK and WWE Worlds Collide were all really good last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was about the Von Erich family last night. god, i remember all those deaths in the 80's and early 90's.

What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Better Things and Desus & Mero.

i do plan on watching some of the NHL and NBA playoff games tonight as well.

i did listen to episode 236 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/cathy-kelley-notsam-wrestling

the restaurant mom wanted to go to this afternoon was fucking packed. so we decided to go to the Rusty Bucket instead. thankfully, we avoided the rain while we were in there. we were going to go to Menards but with it raining, we decided against it. plus, since where we were is a 45 minute drive away from the house, that's just about the limit of how long mom can sit in the Highlander before the pain is too much for her. good times.

i will be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i hope the weather is better wherever you are.

the problem with the weather getting nice around here...

the fuckers in this cul-de-sac i live in are fucking crazy about mowing their grass. if one house does it, then all the houses have to do it. it's fucking insane. it's like it doesn't matter that the grass hasn't grown, it's supposed to rain tomorrow. so get out there at noon and get that grass cut. these are the days i miss living on the farm, where a fucking lawnmower wouldn't wake me up before 9 in the morning.

i did a little poetry work today. i think i know where my next round of submissions are going to. i believe i'll be sending out 38 poems sometime early next week.

the New York Yankees couldn't do shit last night, that was up until the 9th inning. once Houston took Justin Verlander out of the game, the Yankees offense woke the fuck up. Gary Sanchez hit a massive 3 run homer and the Yankees won 4-0. the Yankees bullpen was spectacular yesterday as they got 24 outs in the game. the Yankees starter left after the first inning with a tight elbow. i'm hoping it's just a fucking minor strain and nothing more. the Yankees play again tonight at Houston.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was really good last as well.

The Voice was good last night. i didn't agree with either of the two that were up for elimination last night. oh well.

The Jim Jefferies Show was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was very good last night.

here are your highlights from the NHL and NBA playoffs last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Being Serena. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i'll probably watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight as well.

i believe i have to take mom to a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. it's like a hour away or so. and it's supposed to be raining. oh joy.

i think i spent most of today trying to figure out the fucking song trapped in my head all morning. thankfully, i did. you'll see it as the first song in the music section today.

i'll be on here in the afternoon tomorrow after mom's appointment. i figure we're probably going to lunch after the appointment. i think the appointment is about her social security disability. so, we might go out drinking as well, who knows. i'll be on here after all that is over.

that's all for me kids.

a mighty wind

the wind has been ferocious for all of today. figures, it's trash day.

i sent out 15 poems this morning, 5 each to Synchronized Chaos, Your One Phone Call and 48th Street Press. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.

i have a fucking headache at the moment, so i'm going to try to write this as quickly as i can.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Toronto 7-1. hopefully the offense can come back alive tonight.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. the main event was much better than the rest of the show. hats off to Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and The Miz for a very memorable main event that also included run ins from Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe. i thought starting off the show with the women for the first hour was very nice as well.

Gotham was great last night.

The Voice was really good last night. the talent this season is pretty damn deep.
i have no damn clue who will get voted off tonight.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Smackdown and Deadliest Catch. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play Game 3 against Ottawa tonight at home. this is a MUST WIN game. hopefully the players and the coach understands that.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast this morning. if you want to laugh your ass off, you can find it here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-024-andrew-schulz

after i went to the bank today, i did another round of grocery shopping. i figured it was going to be expensive since i was getting prescriptions, vitamins, etc. it was only a little bit over $100, so i was pretty happy about that. of course, i figure i'll be going back by the end of the week.

my mother found out today her hip replacement has been moved up a week from the original date. i know that makes my sister happy, as she doesn't have to change any plans now.

i still have trash to pick up here and next door, plus dishes to do, so that's all for me kids.

i used to like thunderstorms at night

i used to like thunderstorms at night. the lightning would always thrill me anytime it would light up a dark room. now, saddled with arthritis and apathy, i hate thunderstorms at night. i couldn't get comfortable at all last night. plus, it really fucks with the shows i'm trying to record on my DVR.

WWE Payback was really good last night for the most part. the show started off really awkward as the first match had to be stopped due to injury. thankfully, it looks like Enzo Amore just has a concussion and nothing more. next up was Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn and it did not disappoint. they were the match of the night up until the main event. i'll give AJ Styles an immense amount of credit for making Roman Reigns look like a million bucks in the main event. these 2 are going to wrestle again at the next ppv as well. hopefully the match will be even better. all in all, i'd have to say it was a better event than i thought it was going to be.

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. House of Lies had me laughing. Silicon Valley was really funny. Veep was fucking hilarious. and Penny Dreadful was spooky as hell last night. i so missed this show. and now with a few new characters introduced, it's going to get even better.

just as i thought, once the New York Yankees started scoring runs, the pitching would turn to shit. the Yankees got swept last night, losing to Boston 8-7. they are in last place and look even worse than what they are. now, i've been a fan since the early 80's, so i remember the days when they were bad. i'm really having fun watching the entitled shits that became Yankees fans in the late 90's, as they have no clue what a shitty season truly is. enjoy your baptism idiots. the team is thankfully off tonight and play tomorrow in Baltimore i believe. oh goody, more losing.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.

i did watch Tottenham piss away a 2 goal lead today to Chelsea, which means Leicester City has won the Premier League. for those that don't know, that would the equivalent of a AA minor league baseball team winning the Major League World Series. 5,000 to 1 odds. damn.

i drove mom around this afternoon to get some shit done she's been putting off. plus, my car insurance was due and we figured it out to get it as cheap as possible while she's deciding what new vehicle to buy.

i got the rest of my order from Amazon.com today. thankfully, our roof comes over our front door just enough that there's a little dry spot for our lazy ass mailman to put packages. now if i could just get the fucker to ring the doorbell.

i'm really hoping mom likes her mother's day gift.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

finally, some good weather...

judging from the forecast, the weather looks fucking amazing for the next few days. we're even supposed to get into the 80's before too long. of course, not being on the farm anymore, the only time i truly give a shit about the weather is if it's going to rain. this is a house of misery when it rains. arthritis truly fucking sucks.

found out this morning that my father's funeral is going to be on Tuesday. of course, not sure of what time. it's going to be a graveside service, so now i have to figure out if i need to see the body before it goes in the ground. i imagine if there would be something in the paper about his death, i wouldn't need to. so, i guess i'll know by tomorrow if i truly need to see it or not. i doubt i will go to the reception afterwards. i really don't think i'm going to be in the mood for that. especially since it's going to be put on by the people who got to see my father's good side, whatever the fuck that was.

the New York Yankees won last night, 3-2. the difference in the game was a home run from A-Rod. it tied him with Willie Mays for 4th all-time with 660 home runs. it was also the first pinch hit home run of his career. that's one way to silence the boos. they play again this afternoon.

the New Orleans Saints took 2 more defenders last night and, supposedly, the QB of the future. i like the defensive guys. i think they could have got the QB in a later round. but, if he ends up being the replacement for Brees and is really good, great move. the NFL Draft finishes up today.

i did watch VICE last night. another great episode. i suppose i could always go to China someday. (if you saw the episode, you know exactly what i'm talking about.)

here's something that made me laugh last night and cry a little at the same time:
i literally grew up with this show, from NBC to CBS. thankfully, with the DVR now, i can save the final episodes to watch over and over again.

today is truly going to be crazy. now, if my teams all do what i want them to do, it will be nice to have 3 victory beers today. it will be hard to follow everything given that Manchester United, the New York Rangers and the Yankees are all playing at the same time. i get the feeling that the remote is going to get a workout today. i'm not buying the boxing match tonight. i'll get the results online. $100 is way too fucking much.

on top of all that, there's a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight as well as another new episode of ROH. as i have always said, i'll sleep when i'm dead.

today is the last open house out at the farm. hard to believe that auction is happening in 4 damn days. hopefully, it sells for the right price.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone has a great weekend. only fuck the ones that cough and remember to suck all the marrow out of life.

learning how to deal with pain

i woke up this morning feeling like shit. not sick, but full of pain. and not the kind of pain that means a rush to the hospital. more like the kind of pain that goes with oncoming cold fronts and my arthritis probably getting worse. good times. so, i knew pretty damn early i wasn't going to be mowing the grass feeling like that. but, i'm 2 weeks behind on my laundry and the toilets need cleaned. so you can imagine what my afternoon has been.

my last load of laundry is in the dryer and as soon as i get this blog done i get to do some dishes. i figure what i'm really doing is keeping my mind off of the Rangers second round playoff game tonight against the Penguins. not sure if my back appreciates my brain seeking a little vacation.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-2. the pitching, other than Tanaka, has been spotty to say the least and the offense has gone cold for the last few games. they play against Tampa tonight. i doubt i watch much of it given the Rangers game. maybe during intermissions.

i did enjoy the Star Wars episode of The Big Bang Theory last night. that did make me laugh pretty good. most of the rest of the night was spent watching hockey and basketball. that's probably what tonight will be as well.

mom went back to work today. not sure how she's doing as she hasn't called. i figure most of the day was spent showing people the scar. i'm hoping she has had a pretty good day. i figure if i can get the dishes done before she gets home, i will have at least done my part.

with that being said, that's all for me today folks. hope everyone has a great weekend in store. mine will be filled with some sports and not much sleep. i'm hoping to have a writing session at some point this weekend, maybe get a few good poems out of it.

be well. be creative. be sure to treat your inner geek on May 4th. and then be sure to treat that geek to some pussy afterwards. or dick, i know there are some women and gay men that enjoy Star Wars as well.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the late afternoon. hopefully after a few victory beers.

peace and chicken grease.
