so i woke up this morning after 3 hours of sleep and had to take a shit. that started a morning that was a comedy of errors. by 10 AM, i had taken 4 shits, had breakfast and was in the process of trying to get some more sleep. i always remember Dan Soder's joke about if you want to get good sleep, have a big meal. i did make it to Kroger this afternoon to get my prescription. it was sunny but cold today.
Monday Night Raw was very good last night.
The Voice was really good last night.
What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Winnipeg.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i woke up this morning and it was 62 degrees outside. well shit, i turned off the air conditioning and opened some windows. lord knows, this will probably be the only day in July i will be able to do this.
the Yankees won yesterday at Toronto, 8-1. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow at home against the Reds.
i did watch the Euro 2024 games yesterday. England won 2-1 in extra time over Slovakia. Spain won 4-1 over Georgia. today France is playing Belgium (currently 0-0) and Portugal plays Slovenia.
the Copa America games last night were good. Venezuela defeated Jamaica 3-0. Mexico and Ecuador played a 0-0 draw. that means Venezuela won the group and will take on Canada. Ecuador finished second and they will take on Argentina next. tonight, the USMNT takes on Uruguay and Panama plays Bolivia.
the season finale of The Chi was excellent last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was good last night. the mid-season finale is next week.

i need to go to the bank after i get this done.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
it started raining last night and hasn't really stopped yet. it supposed to keep going all day today and eventually turn over to snow flurries on Sunday. joy.
i was thrilled to learn yesterday that Foo Fighters were showing their MSG concert from the summer for free on their YouTube channel. so, i watched that whole thing yesterday, mostly because i doubt i will ever get to see them live in person.
AEW Rampage was amazing last night.
205 Live was good last night.
Chillin Island was weird as fuck last night.
the New York Rangers won in Tampa Bay last night, 4-3, in a shootout.
the college football playoff games went as i expected last night. Alabama defeated Cincinnati, 27-6, and Georgia whipped that shit school up north, 34-11.
i did feel bad for my sister yesterday. she is a huge fan of the Golden Girls, so i know the death of Betty White ripped her to pieces.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be two episodes of When Nature Calls.
Ohio State plays Utah this afternoon in the Rose Bowl. given the number of Ohio State players that have opted out to prepare for the NFL, i do expect Ohio State to struggle today.
i hope to watch some of the Winter Classic tonight between the Blues and Wild.
WWE Day 1 is tonight as well.
the Dayton Flyers were supposed to play tomorrow but their game has been postponed because of COVID. that means Dayton won't play until Wednesday at home against VCU. of course, i won't be shocked if that game gets postponed as well.
so, i should be on here tomorrow in the morning as i think the Rangers play in the afternoon tomorrow, before the New Orleans Saints do.
thanks to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
it was rainy and muggy once again today. my arthritis was licking its chops. and of course, i had to be out in the shit since today is the day i do all the grocery shopping.
Rite Aid wasn't bad today. i actually got some baseball cards there. the clerk that works there knows me now and knows i'm always looking for sports cards. she said they had some behind the counter, but customers are only allowed to buy 1 of them. i got the Fairfield baseball box. i paid around $4 for it and there was close to $20 worth of cards in it. not bad. i got some other things that mom wanted, which she wants me to give her while my sister is here, since i guess we're celebrating mom's birthday early. (my sister has this fear that mom is going to die soon. i believe my sister has confused her wishful thinking with reality once again.)
by the time i got to Kroger, my arthritis had won the day. i was dragging the entire time. my left leg has been on fire for 3 days now. all the scar tissue in it has been radiating constantly. between all 4 stores i went to, i believe i kept it under $250 for everything.
my sister will be down here from Thursday until Sunday. oh joy.
NXT was great last night.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
Mr. Inbetween was excellent last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

i'm sure i will watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight as well.
i really need to go ice my back down and stretch these old bones out in my massage chair.
i should be on here tomorrow after my doctor's appointment. it's just my 3 month check up on my A1C and everything else wrong with me. i'm hoping it won't be raining all day tomorrow.

its been blowing around 40 MPH around here for the last 12 hours or so. i can remember days like this on the farm where i would sit out and just watch leaves blow over about 10 acres of land in a few seconds. now i'm just wondering when the damn cold front is going to move through...
here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:
Black Monday was good last night. the show will come back probably when this pandemic is over.
Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children had no audio for the first 45 minutes of the show. so, there was way more reading than i thought i was going to have to do with the closed caption. eventually, the audio came back for the last 15 minutes or so.
Westworld was fucking great last night.
Insecure was awesome last night.
Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Songland, The Plot Against America and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
yesterday went pretty well. my sister was here way longer than i thought she was going to be. she made these carrot cake cupcakes that were amazing. she got back home before the storms hit where she lives last night.
i can tell mom is getting a little stir crazy these days. i'm hoping the weather gets a bit better and i can take her on a drive just to get out of the house.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

there are the days where my arthritis is so damn bad that my fingers aren't working worth a fuck. i can't copy and paste with the mouse. i can't type fast enough to get shit done as fast as i want, etc. etc. needless to say, since i wanted to get some poems out this morning, today was one of those days.
i did send 16 poems out today. 3 each to The Beatnik Cowboy and Red Eft Review; 5 each to Synchronized Chaos and Ink Pantry. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them last night, losing to Seattle, 10-1. hopefully they can get back to winning tonight.
here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:
What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.
NXT was great last night. i could watch Matt Riddle and Adam Cole wrestle each other forever.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Better Things and Desus & Mero.
i do plan on watching some of the NBA and NHL playoff games tonight.
well, i wanted to have this blog done a couple hours ago, but when you don't get to bed until 4 in the morning and then get up 5 hours later with a bad back raging, it changes the day dramatically. oh well.
NXT Takeover Phoenix was amazing last night. hats off to HHH and all the wrestlers in NXT for being the most consistent brand of wrestling in the world at the moment.
ROH was pretty good last night.
Austin City Limits was great last night.
Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.
the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at Fordham 75-52. they certainly needed that.
Amanda Seales: I Be Knowin' was really fucking funny last night.
and i did catch some of the NHL All-Star game.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Celebrity Big Brother, Total Bellas, Crashing, True Detective, High Maintenance, Shameless, SMILF and Black Monday. i'll be watching the Royal Rumble for most of the night on WWE Network.
we got about an inch of snow last night. thankfully, no ice or anything, so it was pretty easy to go down and get the paper this morning.
i will be on here tomorrow after mom gets her injection for her osteoporosis. i'm hoping we are back home before the freezing rain hits tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

well, it turns out the "woman" from Indianapolis i talked about yesterday was a fucking scam artist. when "she" started talking about being a Marine this morning, i just stopped the conversation right there and knew it was a fucking scam. apparently people don't realize when you have been talking to people online for over 25 years now, you have heard it all. and i mean it all. so yeah, apparently i'm supposed to die alone. oh well.
i'm not sure what kind of voodoo the New York Rangers have over Carolina at MSG, but holy shit, it's a curse. the Rangers defeated Carolina last night 6-2. that's 16 straight wins over them at Madison Square Garden. just crazy.
Smackdown was pretty good last night. the match last night between Rey Mysterio and Andrade was holy fuck amazing.
205 Live was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer and You're The Worst. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at VCU. if they can find a way to win tonight, i might actually believe they will have a chance to win the A10.
i've got one more load of clothes to put in the washer. we had some freezing rain last night, so i'm doing laundry trying to forget that my arthritis is fucking killing me at the moment.
we're also taking down more of the Christmas shit today. all the trees are back out in the garage. now, just 4 tubs of more shit to go.
i just saw the weather forecast for my birthday. apparently, hell is freezing over.
i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. it's supposed to be a shitty weather day, so there is a 100% chance i'm going to be a grouchy motherfucker at best.

well, i certainly wasn't expecting to be at the doctor's office for as long as i was today. my appointment and everything went smoothly. i really like the new doctor. his medical assistant is very easy on the eyes and the overall vibe i got was massively better than my old doctor. most of my time at the office was sitting around waiting for mom to get done. it turns out that the old doctor and his assistant had filled out none of my mom's disability paperwork. paperwork that she had been calling about since November. so, this new doctor made sure mom was there while all of it got filled and faxed. so, needless to say, i believe we both have found a new doctor that is actually good at what he does. he's putting me on a stronger pill for my arthritis and he told me if you don't notice any improvement, call me and we'll try something stronger. my A1C number was the same as 3 months ago. that made me very happy as i was afraid all the sweets during the holidays was going to be my undoing. he told me if that number is the same or better when i see him again in April, he'll start scaling back the medicines i'm taking for my type 2 diabetes.
after the doctor, i took mom to the store. we just needed some milk, eggs, bread, shit that couldn't wait until when i go on Friday. of course, we got a few others things as well.
after that, it was an ill-advised stop at Wendy's for an incredibly late lunch. the thing i hate about fast food where i live is over 70% of the fucking time, unless you sit there and open up each sandwich, there's a good fucking chance your order will be wrong. sure enough, i got home and knew when i saw what the sandwiches looked like while still wrapped, i didn't get what i ordered. it's funny, i go one town over to the fast food places where there are nothing but black workers and the order is never wrong. hmm...
Smackdown was pretty good last night.
205 Live was pretty good last night as well.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Total Divas and The X-Files. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Chicago. hopefully they can get another victory.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against St. Bonaventure. i'm not going to the game as i really don't want to sit there and watch them get killed. i can do that at home on the television and easily just flip the fucking channel. it won't be pretty tonight.
team USA defeated Russia last night 4-2. i think this is the first time in 8 years that Russia won't be playing for a medal at the World Juniors. team USA plays tomorrow in the afternoon against Sweden. if they win, they will get to play for a gold medal against the winner of Canada vs. Czech Republic.
i'll be on here tomorrow after my eye doctor's appointment. unless that takes forever and then it will be after the USA vs. Sweden game.

i'm a pretty superstitious person, most of the time. and sometimes, when the shit or "mojo" gets bad, a change is in order. needless to say, after watching the Dayton Flyers lose the way they did last night, i went and got a haircut this afternoon. i think she might have lopped off about a pound of hair. just in time for it to get cold again. joy.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at Mississippi State 61-59. this was after Dayton had dug themselves out of the 21 point hole they were in at one point in the game. but, leave it to their senior leader, who for some fucking reason, still can't dribble with his left hand at the age of 22, to turn the ball over in the final seconds of a tied game. that was Dayton's 26th turnover of the game. hard to win playing like that. they are really missing Xeyrius Williams at the moment. hopefully they will have him back on Wednesday when they play Tennessee Tech. after watching 7 games, i can see why Archie left. this is the team's worst start since the mid 90's.
thankfully, the New Orleans Saints won yesterday, sweeping the season series over Carolina. they simply have the best running back duo in the NFL. both were really good yesterday in the 31-21 victory. that puts them in first place alone in the division. they next play on Thursday at Atlanta. a victory there and they will have a firm grip on winning the division.
i did do a little poetry work yesterday. i have a pretty good idea where my next 40 or so poems are going. that will be my final submission of the year, most likely. i'm shooting for Thursday to do that. once that is done, i can turn my focus on getting my Christmas cards done.
with that being said, if you'd like to be on my list, be sure you email me your current mailing address. i believe there will be some lucky people getting broadsides this year.
the season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking great last night.
Shameless was excellent last night.
SMILF was hilarious last night. man, i do miss doing drugs.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and The Newspaperman: The Life and Times of Ben Bradlee. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
judging from the pile of dirty clothes in my room, i believe tomorrow will be laundry day.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow, before Manchester United plays in the Champions League. all they need is a point to win the group. hopefully that happens.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

mom wants lunch today to have a picnic feel for some fucking reason. so, she sent me to the local grocery store to get coleslaw, potato salad, etc. i just love going out in the fucking heat to have a bunch of backward thinking locals stare at me while i'm ordering 6 different things from the deli. i was encouraged to actually see a black girl and two Hispanic kids in the store while i was there. it would delight me beyond belief to see this community get more diverse. better yet, i would love to see all the racist people flee as it becomes more diverse.
the New York Yankees got some more great starting pitching last night and absolutely whipped Baltimore 16-3. it was the first time in over nine years the Yankees have had 4 straight games with 8 or more runs. hopefully today will become the 5th straight game as they go for the sweep.
i ended up watching a good amount of UFC last night. plenty of quick knockouts, that's for sure.
ROH last night was excellent. i would love to see a nice long feud between Adam Cole and Marty Scurll.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Silicon Valley, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Twin Peaks: The Return and I'm Dying Up Here.
i will be watching the USA men's national team try to win down in Mexico for most of tonight. if the USA can pull of the miracle, it will give them a much needed boost in their World Cup qualifying.
i might watch a little of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight, if Nashville is winning.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

the only thing my mother asked of me when we moved off the farm was to at least make an effort. she kept it vague, but i figured she meant apathy can't rule every aspect of my life any longer. so, when she asked me to go to the grocery store today, about 20 minutes before the Manchester United game was going to start, i didn't throw a fit. i believe rational people call that maturing. of course, i was saying just about every fucking word i could under my breath, but i'm making an effort. i was able to get gas and her pills and the groceries and miss only 2/3 of the game. at least i kept the groceries under $100. considering how much i got, that's a victory.
Manchester United and Manchester Shitty played to a 0-0 draw today. considering United was down to 10 men by the end, i'll gladly take the point and move on.
NXT was really good last night. i loved the video they did for Roderick Strong. i think NXT is going to be quickly back to being over as fuck once again.
Total Divas was fucking hilarious last night. the footage from Bulgaria was great.
the New York Yankees tried to piss away a victory last night, but held on to beat Boston 3-1. the kids earned this victory, that's for sure. they will face their nemesis Chris Sale this evening.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces and Lip Sync Battle.
this is truly one of those clusterfuck nights when it comes to television. at the same time as the shows are on, i'll be watching the New York Rangers play Game 1 of their second round series with Ottawa, while checking on the NFL Draft (the Saints have the 11th pick and 32nd pick in the first round), plus checking on the baseball game. hopefully both of my teams win tonight... if i'm going to be up late, i might as well be drinking.
we did have some storms roll through here this morning. i don't think we got nearly as much rain as they thought we were going to get. it did get cooler though, thankfully.
i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. it kind of depends on what mom needs as i am trying to help her get rid of the problems she's having with her feet as quickly as possible. i don't want her to fuck up another date for surgery. if i can help it, she's going to get it done this time.

when i went to the post office today, there was some snowflakes in the air. it definitely feels like December now.
everyone should check their mailboxes in the next few days. either a card or a mysterious envelope could be in there. if you didn't get one and feel you should have, send me an email with your mailing address. it's always possible i missed someone.
NXT was pretty good last night. i could always watch Nakamura and Samoa Joe wrestle.
Lucha Underground was really good last night. i really enjoyed the chaos.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Life in Pieces.
the first half of the Manchester United game today put me to sleep. thankfully, the second half was better. i always felt like whenever Henrikh Mkhitaryan was going to score his first goal for United, it was going to be spectacular. today, i was finally right. it was a beauty. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored late to make it 2-0. the win was enough to get United through to the knockout round in the Europa League. plus, it was their first win on the road in Europe in ages it seems like. they have a tough one this weekend in the Premier League against Tottenham, so i will definitely enjoy this one tonight.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Winnipeg. i will probably watch a little of that.
i'll probably also check out the NFL game tonight between Oakland and Kansas City.
i got myself a Christmas gift today. i wasn't going to turn down an autographed Ben Harper poster at 50% off.
i still haven't got that fucking poem out of my head yet. i'll try to make the drinks a little stronger tonight. that tends to get the engine going these days.
took mom out for a ride today. she needed to get some cash out of the ATM. on our way back, we saw the guy who farmed our land raking some leaves. i pulled over and put down mom's window. thankfully, it wasn't too fucking cold. he's doing well. mom always wanted to be able to sell the farm to him and his family, but it never worked out. we drove past the old farm on the way back home. i'm surprised there are any trees left.
that's all for me today kids. enjoy the little poem in the music titles.
