not the sound you want to hear getting out of bed...

so, i woke up this morning after a somewhat decent night of sleep and as soon as i started getting out of bed, i heard my back pop. my first thought was i guess the weed gummy has worn off. i do think that was the reason i slept well at least. so, for the last 10 hours or so, i have been stretching my back and icing and feeling like shit. joy.

the Yankees spilt their doubleheader yesterday at home against the Angels. they won game 1, 5-2. they lost game 2, 8-2. hopefully, they will win tonight.

Big Brother was really good last night. i have no clue who gets evicted tonight.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

some of the baseball cards i ordered showed up today. i got the first 2024 cards i have been able to order this year. i was hoping for some better rookies... the packs i got from Golden Lion Sports Cards were excellent. the Kirby Puckett rookie card was a nice shock.

i did catch some of the Olympics today. the USA men's basketball team had a huge comeback to defeat Serbia today, 95-91. they will play France for the gold medal.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Don't Forget the Lyrics and NJPW.

depending on how my back feels tomorrow, that will determine if i actually go to Menards like i need to or not.

so, i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i need to go make dinner, so that's all for me kids...

running on fumes...

i guess you could say i'm on the comedown now... of course, i'm burning the candle at both ends again. as i tell anyone who wants to listen. place your bets on the under on how many years i live. i can easily say i won't be here 25 years from now. and if i am, you can blame whatever angel decided i was worth the effort.

i had to take mom to get her blood work done again today. i guess her doctor didn't like the kidney numbers on the earlier one this week. she sees him on Monday. after that, she wanted to go to Bob Evans. i joked that it was before 4 PM, so we should beat the early dinner crowd. our waitress was on her first day on the job. that was fun. i gave her a good tip, mostly because she was drop dead gorgeous.

the New York Yankees lost last night in 12 innings to Tampa, 2-1. hopefully, they will get the split in the series tonight.

the New York Rangers got their first win of the preseason last night, 3-1 over the Islanders.

Smackdown was good last night, as was 205 Live.

Mayans M.C. had a nice oh fuck moment last night. loved it.

Mr. Mercedes was excellent last night.

The Voice was good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, the season finale of Big Brother, American Horror Story, Cake and The Masked Singer. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

Manchester United played Rochdale today in the League Cup. thank god i didn't watch. United ended up winning on penalty kicks, 5-3. i believe Rochdale plays 2 leagues below United. great.

i'll be on here tomorrow in the late afternoon again. i have a doctor's appointment at 2. when i get back home, i think mom wants me to take her to get her haircut. lord knows, i need one as well. so, if that happens, i'll be on here after we're all done.

that's all for me kids. thankfully tonight is full of mindless entertainment.

until tomorrow...

feels like i've been stuck on the computer all day long...

there are the days where my arthritis is so damn bad that my fingers aren't working worth a fuck. i can't copy and paste with the mouse. i can't type fast enough to get shit done as fast as i want, etc. etc. needless to say, since i wanted to get some poems out this morning, today was one of those days.

i did send 16 poems out today. 3 each to The Beatnik Cowboy and Red Eft Review; 5 each to Synchronized Chaos and Ink Pantry. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees had their asses handed to them last night, losing to Seattle, 10-1. hopefully they can get back to winning tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.

Dark Side of the Ring was excellent last night.

NXT was great last night. i could watch Matt Riddle and Adam Cole wrestle each other forever.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Better Things and Desus & Mero.

i do plan on watching some of the NBA and NHL playoff games tonight.

i did listen to episode 237 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/wade-keller-notsam-wrestling-1

it has been one of those gloomy days here. so fucking humid and just enough rain to make it more fucking miserable. joy.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

that's all for me kids. i need to go ice my back down in the massage chair.

not exactly the news i was expecting to wake up to...

i woke up this morning to the news of Manchester United finally finding the nuts to sack Jose Mourinho. i figured it was coming but not this soon. so, now the club wants to find a caretaker manager until they do a deep search to find "the right man" for the job. all i hope is they find a way to not fuck this up yet again.

i wrote 7 poems this afternoon while in the waiting room of mom's ear doctor. she had a hearing test today that confirmed what she already knew, she's lost some of hearing in both ears. the doctor is putting her on steroids. he believes it could help her with her Meniere's Disease. mom wanted to go to lunch after that and we went to Perkins since it is right down the street.

i just got the trash done, so i suppose i am in for the night.

the first night of the finale for The Voice was really good last night. i want Kirk to win but i honestly think any of the 4 could win. now, Kennedy probably has the best voice out of all of them. the finale tonight should be good.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night until it completely ran out of steam. i'm all for them highlighting the women and giving them a spotlight. but, putting them in a position to fail by making the 3rd hour all about them isn't the way to do it. and i don't want to shit on the parade of Vince, Steph, HHH and Shane "taking back" something they already own, but i would love to see some real changes to the shows, company, etc. now, i do like who they are calling up from NXT. hopefully, HHH is given more power on both shows in the creative sense. given what he has done with NXT, he should already be running the whole fucking company by now.

the New Orleans Saints won ugly last night and i couldn't care less. they defeated Carolina 12-9. i absolutely love how the defense played last night. now, they only have to win 1 more game of the 2 left (both at home) and they will be playing indoors for the rest of the season. if they win out, it would be the best record in franchise history. i really hope they go for that.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown and The Voice.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Anaheim. it would be nice to see the Rangers actually win tonight.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to the third day of doctor's appointments. it's going to be tricky since the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow night. i'd really love to get the blog done early and not try to squeeze anything in real late.

i figure at some point here soon, it's going to be a whirlwind of sending out some poems while wrapping some gifts. i honestly can't believe Christmas is just a week away.

i hope everyone had a good day.

running into family at the grocery store

i ran into a cousin at the grocery store today. i'm not a guy that really likes to shoot the shit in public. i'm more of the i have a list and i want to get this shot done type. my uncle is back in the hospital. mom got the phone call last night. who the fuck knows what he has now to go along with the cancer. i told mom though, the family will not be able to stand him dying around Christmas. the joys of the holidays.

thankfully, my Sunday night was much, MUCH better than my Sunday afternoon. i was so fucking angry by the end of the New Orleans Saints game that i thought i was going to have a stroke.

Manchester United was cruising along up 1-0 yesterday at Everton. late in the game, The Special One decided to bring on Marouane Fellaini. like most United fans, i was like WHY? sure enough, less than 3 minutes on the pitch, he fouled a guy in the box and gave Everton a penalty kick. so, for the fifth game in a row in the league, a fucking draw. 1-1. i wanted to blame it all on the shitty officiating, but even i know it was more self inflicted than anything. hopefully this shit will end one day. maybe they can find a team dumb enough to want to sign him in January. or maybe The Special One will just let him rot on the fucking bench for the rest of the season. not the way i wanted to start my Sunday.

the New Orleans Saints couldn't get a stop on defense to save their lives yesterday. and the offense was fucking horrific for most of the game. not a good combination for winning in a game that you really needed. the Lions beat the Saints 28-13. Drew Brees was held without a touchdown at home for the first time in 7 seasons. so you can imagine how my day went in fantasy football as well.

WWE TLC was amazing last night. i loved all the title changes. i loved the main event. it had a little of everything. all in all, it was better than i expected and i was expecting a great one.

Westworld was one of the best mind fucks i think i have ever received. nearly all the questions were answered and honestly, just give anyone connected to the show whatever damn award they are up for. it was fucking great. if you didn't watch the show, do yourself a favor and find it and enjoy the fuck out of it.

Divorce was pretty funny last night.

Shameless was great last night. i'm so emotionally invested since i have watched every episode, i nearly shit myself when Ian got in the car with Mickey at the end of the episode.

i really enjoyed The Affair last night. i never knew Brendan Fraser could play a creep so well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and the semifinals of The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

it looks like winter may really be here by the weekend. snow and lows in the teens. good times.

i went through my mailing list last night and picked out the lucky ones to get something from me this Christmas. so, start looking in your mailboxes in the next few days.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. since there is a basketball game Tuesday night, it's a bit of a clusterfuck.

i hope everyone had a lovely Sunday.

make up your mind

so today it's supposed to get into the 40's and be sunny. 2 days from now we're supposed to start 4 straight days of snow. knowing my luck, that will start on my drive to the doctor's office. good times.

there was so much on television last night. i nearly forgot about Spike Lee's Michael Jackson documentary on Showtime. i watched that and really enjoyed it. Treehouse Masters was a clip show, so most of that was watched on fast forward. NJPW was excellent as always. it's funny watching it knowing that so many of the guys have already left NJPW. VICE last night was very interesting. i'm not sure how many people in this country understand what the fuck Boko Haram is. plus, the gene editing story was very interesting. as i told my mother, the next step to our evolution is perfecting ourselves. once that is achieved, the end of humanity is then upon us.

the USA defeated Canada last night 1-0 in a soccer friendly. the game was pretty boring, but thankfully i was watching when the winning goal was scored.

as you might imagine, i was up pretty late after watching all that. but, i was able to wake up in time to watch Manchester Shitty lose this morning. considering what today is for Manchester United fans, that was a sight i didn't mind seeing this morning.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the James Foley documentary on HBO, Saturday Night Live, ROH and Austin City Limits.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon against Philadelphia. it would be nice for the Rangers to win this game as the Flyers are getting close to them in the standings.

the Dayton Flyers play at George Mason this evening. they have had a week to prepare for this game, so i'm expecting them to come out on fire.

not sure what else i'm going to do today. probably some cleaning and maybe a trip to Hobby Lobby to get some frames. i basically want to make my room have exactly zero free wall space.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. i will be on here in the morning tomorrow, before Manchester United takes on Chelsea, and long before all the good commercials start for the Super Bowl.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
