leap day...

well, the plan for doing some writing today pretty much ended with my first step out of bed. my back more or less decided it hates me and i have been dealing with that all day long. so yeah, i guess it was a maintenance day. joy.

the New York Rangers won last night at home against Columbus, 4-1. they are the first team in the NHL this season to get to 40 wins.

here are your videos for this final day of Black History Month:

nothing like listening to the howling winds...

its been blowing around 40 MPH around here for the last 12 hours or so. i can remember days like this on the farm where i would sit out and just watch leaves blow over about 10 acres of land in a few seconds. now i'm just wondering when the damn cold front is going to move through...

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to poems you should be reading:

VICE was really good last night.

Homeland was excellent last night.

Black Monday was good last night. the show will come back probably when this pandemic is over.

Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children had no audio for the first 45 minutes of the show. so, there was way more reading than i thought i was going to have to do with the closed caption. eventually, the audio came back for the last 15 minutes or so.

Westworld was fucking great last night.

Insecure was awesome last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Songland, The Plot Against America and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 286 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

yesterday went pretty well. my sister was here way longer than i thought she was going to be. she made these carrot cake cupcakes that were amazing. she got back home before the storms hit where she lives last night.

i can tell mom is getting a little stir crazy these days. i'm hoping the weather gets a bit better and i can take her on a drive just to get out of the house.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

stay healthy kids...

until tomorrow...

and then the rain becomes snow

it was almost dry enough this morning for me to get out in the yard and fix all the shit the rain fucked up. almost. i did that rather than watching more of the USA lose to Russia 4-0.

when i woke up this morning, Russia was already up 2-0 midway in the 2nd period. that's about what it should have been given that all of the USA's best players play in the NHL. the USA will play again on Tuesday. i think they have to win 2 straight games now to even get a chance to get a medal. i doubt that happens.

i realized the New York Rangers play this afternoon, so if i have any intention of going to see the Dayton Flyers play tonight, i better get the blog done now before Manchester United plays. and this is why i confuse most people. why the fuck would a poet give a shit about sports? good fucking question.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

Treehouse Masters was really good last night.

High Maintenance was hilarious last night.

2 Dope Queens was fucking hilarious last night.

Celebrity Big Brother went as i expected last night. Shannon got evicted and Omarosa is the new HOH. i was hoping to see her get evicted on Monday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Austin City Limits.

the New York Rangers play up in Ottawa this afternoon.

Manchester United plays at Huddersfield Town this afternoon in the FA Cup. hopefully United gets a win and advances to the next round.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Fordham. i'm planning on going to the game unless it starts to snow. Dayton isn't good enough this year for me to travel in the snow to see them play. i'll watch the game on television if that happens.

i will probably also watch some of the NBA All-Star Weekend shit tonight; slam dunk contest, 3 point contest, etc.

plus, there's always the Winter Olympics as well.

i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. if i have any boredom creep into my life this afternoon, i'll probably start to figure out where the next round of poems will be going to.

aches and pains

i woke up sometime around 6 or so this morning, completely in pain. i knew it must have just rained. i didn't even bother to try to move. i probably stayed in the same spot for 30 minutes or so, just hoping to fall back asleep. no such luck.

i can tell you that the pain hasn't let up today at all. fucking cold fronts.

i found out last night that the mother of the guy who farms out here died on Monday. it didn't come as a surprise to anyone as her health has been failing for years. we're hoping to sell the farm to this guy, so i have no clue what this does to those plans. my condolences to the family.

the Yankees won last night, 2-1 in 14 innings. mind you, there wasn't any runs scored until the 13th inning. if there ever was a game i would have preferred to shoot myself in the head rather than watch, this was it. the guy they traded for earlier in the day got the winning hit. not a bad debut. of course, when he struck out with his first at bat, i looked at mom and said he fits right in. they face one of the best pitchers in the league tonight. i'm not expecting much.

Deadliest Catch and Tyrant were both really good last night.

tonight is going to be crazy for me. a new episode of Big Brother is on. then, i want to check out this new music show on VH1. i think it's called SoundClash. then, it's off to FXX to see Wilfred. and then it gets tricky. The Bridge will be on FX at the same time that Manchester United is playing the LA Galaxy on Fox Sports 1. The Bridge is so damn good that i'm thinking i will just watch that and catch the second half of the United game. i'll have to have the trigger finger ready for the commercial breaks.

had another afternoon on iTunes today. my musical tastes are getting bizarre.

i did type up the 5 poems i wrote yesterday late last night/this morning. i like a few of them. i'll try to get some shit sent out before the month is over. i would say later this week, but after this rain, i get the feeling i'm going to be mowing grass for the next few days.

had a long talk with the muse late last night. i feel bad for her. she's in a pretty shitty situation. she hasn't asked for my help yet, even though we both know i would somehow try to help her with my broke ass. hopefully i won't have to.

that's all for me today. i need to get on YouTube and see what i missed this afternoon while i was trying to sleep in my chair. it was more of experiencing bitter agony while trying to find music that would take my mind someplace else. i suppose it is time to start doing drugs again.

be well my enemies.
