i am definitely not a morning person...

i was up at 5:30 this morning. neither mom or i are morning people, so when she has an appointment in the morning, i know i need to be up early to help her. i got her to her appointment nearly exactly on time. thankfully, the dentist didn't have to do as much as he thought, so i only had to get her when she was done. she's currently enjoying the effects of the drugs she got. she told me she felt weird before she went to sleep. i told her to embrace it. i'm going to get her to open her third eye sometime before she dies.

the Yankees lost again last night at Oakland, 3-1. they start a series tonight at the Angels. these are 3 games they need to win.

Big Brother was good last night.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.

Heels was great last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i do hope everyone had a great weekend.

i did listen to episode 358 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

so i had to get gas yesterday and decided i would go get a few other things as well. i found some stuff at Big Lots that Kroger doesn't carry anymore. of course, i went there hoping to find baseball cards. i had to go to Kroger to get gas and mom's pills, so i stopped by the Rite Aid up there. i bought two Fairfield boxes of baseball cards for $9. there was $65 worth of cards in them. i was fucking shocked. there was a rookie card in there that i was stunned to see. plus about 10 cards from hall of famers. that made me pretty damn happy. of course, the Yankees made sure that didn't last.

Manchester United defeated Wolves yesterday, 1-0. they were outplayed for the majority of the match. i would love to see them get some help in the midfield before the deadline is up tomorrow. but, with the victory they set the record for the longest unbeaten streak on the road in the history of English football. 28 games so far.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

there has always been a reason i hate people...

maybe i shouldn't use the word hate, but it's not like i am a reasonable person at 44. especially on a day where it feels like i am 3 hours behind where i wanted to be. hell, Manchester United pissed me off so much yesterday i didn't even bother to check my damn email. imagine my surprise when i got on this afternoon after running around for hours trying to get everything mom needed, and there was 500 emails to go through. yes, i'm voting for Biden, no, i'm not watching the convention, no, i can't send you $5, etc. etc. etc.

so yeah, let's get that shit show from yesterday out of the way. Manchester United lost to Sevilla, 2-1. that means they lost their 3rd semi-final match of their season. and their season is now over. if United would have been clinical and ruthless yesterday, they probably would have won 8-2 or so. they fucking had 20 damn chances at goal and only scored from the penalty spot. Sevilla had 2 chances the entire match. enough said. United needs to buy a new central defender, a new striker that is ruthless and get some bench players the coach actually believes in. the subs didn't come on until the 86th minute yesterday. fucking ridiculous.

the Yankees beat the Red Sox last night, 4-2. they go for the sweep tonight. the game just started.

Big Brother was good last night.

The Chi was excellent last night. a great HOLY SHIT ending to set up the season finale next week.

We Hunt Together was very good last night.

Lovecraft Country was fucking great last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Axios and I May Destroy You. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i haven't had a chance to listen to episode 304 of Notsam Wrestling yet today. i will listen to it tonight. you can find it by going here: http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2020/8/17/notsam-wrestling-304-ron-funches

so, i had to go to the bank today to deposit a check. the bank i normally go to was fucking closed for some reason. so, i had to drive to the next town over to go to the bank. no big deal. i go inside, tell the woman i'm depositing the check and i need my balance. she deposits the check and never gives me my balance. i told her i needed the balance twice. by this time, i'm pissed. i take the receipt and leave, muttering to myself how much i fucking can't stand people. i go to the dollar store a few doors down because we need Glade spray and mom saw an ad for the pens she likes. the dollar store had neither. great. i had to drive 20 minutes to get $200 out of the ATM at my mother's bank. i figured i would just drive back to where i live and go to the dollar store there. they didn't have the pens, but they did have the Glade spray and some Lysol wipes, which i haven't seen in months. so, i went to Rite-Aid across the street and found the damn pens. i also picked up myself a pack of baseball cards, which i am really happy i did. i found a numbered Joe Morgan card in it and a Jackie Robinson card, as well as a Mike Trout card. that brightened this shitty day, for sure.

thanks to everyone for checking out those poems that got published recently:

nothing like listening to the howling winds...

its been blowing around 40 MPH around here for the last 12 hours or so. i can remember days like this on the farm where i would sit out and just watch leaves blow over about 10 acres of land in a few seconds. now i'm just wondering when the damn cold front is going to move through...

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

VICE was really good last night.

Homeland was excellent last night.

Black Monday was good last night. the show will come back probably when this pandemic is over.

Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children had no audio for the first 45 minutes of the show. so, there was way more reading than i thought i was going to have to do with the closed caption. eventually, the audio came back for the last 15 minutes or so.

Westworld was fucking great last night.

Insecure was awesome last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

yesterday went pretty well. my sister was here way longer than i thought she was going to be. she made these carrot cake cupcakes that were amazing. she got back home before the storms hit where she lives last night.

i can tell mom is getting a little stir crazy these days. i'm hoping the weather gets a bit better and i can take her on a drive just to get out of the house.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

the winds of hell

oh shit, two days in a row. i guess i'm back in the flow of this once again.

i didn't sleep very well last night. i'm not sure if it's the season or the absolutely fucking bizarre dreams i was having. between one where my high school girlfriend actually was in love with me to one where i was accused in history class of putting mustard on a chocolate cake. not sure what the fuck it all means nor do i really fucking care at the moment.

of course, 20 minutes after i woke up from those dreams, i opened an email from Russell at The Camel Saloon passing on the poems i sent yesterday. well, that helps solve the problem with not having poems for the broadside project.

i was not very pleased with Monday Night Raw last night. other than Brock Lesnar nearly killing everyone, the rest of the night was a bit of a downer. i did like the debuts of the guys from NXT. hopefully they are on Raw for a long time. it just felt like they were back to hey, let's fuck the audience again and not give them anything they want. though, i doubt they liked the cheers when Brock did this to lead announcer Michael Cole:
of course, it would have been best to do the rest of the show in silence. they chose not to and made shit even worse.

i watched The Voice from last night this afternoon. i figured it was a good time, especially given the way team USA has been playing here recently. they were playing Switzerland at noon. so, once The Voice was over, i flipped over to the soccer match. of course, i missed a great goal:
USA ended up drawing with the Swiss 1-1. Jozy Altidore got a red card. not sure why people think he didn't deserve it. he was going to get a yellow for the tackle. you can't exactly tell the ref to go fuck himself and not think you're not getting another yellow. stupid stupid STUPID. oh well, just another fucking friendly where they couldn't hold a lead.

the New York Rangers play tonight up in Winnipeg. this isn't the best place to try to get on a good streak. hopefully they win against a desperate Jets team.

on the DVR tonight will be the recap episode of The Voice and Undateable, one of the few comedies i actually like on NBC.

the people that were supposed to get the furniture today didn't show up. figures. mom has told them they have to be here by 8 in the morning tomorrow or she's giving it all away to charity. so much for sleeping in tomorrow.

i got some free music on iTunes today. i haven't been over to NoiseTrade yet to see what they have. and, i guess i should check out that new streaming service that Jay Z is doing. judging from the commercial, it looks interesting.

that's all for me today. i believe i might have to drive mom to work tomorrow. her Meniere's disease has been acting up again. if that happens, i'll bring along a pen and paper and maybe get a few poems down. either that, or maybe do some day drinking. good times.

hope this finds everyone drunk and looking at bad porn. until tomorrow bitches.
