nothing like listening to the howling winds...

its been blowing around 40 MPH around here for the last 12 hours or so. i can remember days like this on the farm where i would sit out and just watch leaves blow over about 10 acres of land in a few seconds. now i'm just wondering when the damn cold front is going to move through...

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

and here are a couple of links to poems you should be reading:

VICE was really good last night.

Homeland was excellent last night.

Black Monday was good last night. the show will come back probably when this pandemic is over.

Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children had no audio for the first 45 minutes of the show. so, there was way more reading than i thought i was going to have to do with the closed caption. eventually, the audio came back for the last 15 minutes or so.

Westworld was fucking great last night.

Insecure was awesome last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Songland, The Plot Against America and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i did listen to episode 286 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:

yesterday went pretty well. my sister was here way longer than i thought she was going to be. she made these carrot cake cupcakes that were amazing. she got back home before the storms hit where she lives last night.

i can tell mom is getting a little stir crazy these days. i'm hoping the weather gets a bit better and i can take her on a drive just to get out of the house.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

stay healthy kids...

until tomorrow...

welcome to the weekend...

the way the grocery store was today, you would think Christmas is next week. holy fuck, can we get through fucking Thanksgiving first?

i did do a pretty good job of getting everything on the scroll and keeping it at least close to $100. as i told my mother when i got home, on some days, i feel like a fucking magician.

mom's eye appointment went well this morning. she should have her new glasses sometime after Thanksgiving.

the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night in Tampa, 9-3. thank god i didn't watch all of that.

Young Sheldon was good last night.

The Unicorn was pretty funny last night.

Perfect Harmony was fucking hilarious last night.

Will & Grace was excellent last night.

Mr Inbetween was great last night. the season finale is next week.

Desus & Mero was funny as hell last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher, Room 104 and INXS: Live Baby Live. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did listen to the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling late last night. you can find that by going here:

i did watch some of the Browns vs. Steelers game last night. and yes, i did see the brawl at the end. i'm not surprised at all with the suspensions.

the USMNT plays a MUST WIN game tonight against Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League. i won't be shocked if the USA chokes tonight.

i believe my sister is coming down here tomorrow. i think she's going to the Dayton Flyers game with me tomorrow night.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after i go to the bank in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

adrift in a bloody fog

it certainly goes without saying, i've had better days here on earth. i fell right back into my old routines last night, not getting to bed until well after 5 AM this morning. i shaved, got my shower in, did the dishes, talked to a woman in Colombia, watched way too much porn and indie wrestling videos until i ran out of gas. of course, 4 hours later i was up. that's the life of this poet.

then, i had my first shit of the day. it crept up on me while i was doing my laundry. thankfully, i made it to the bathroom. and when i looked at what was in the bowl, i knew the rest of my day was going to be miserable. just my luck, my back started to give out about 25 minutes into this process. just fucking lovely. and there was just enough moisture in the air that my arthritis was flaring up as well. these are the days when a little demon pops up on my shoulder and reminds me that men MUCH greater than i am have killed themselves, what am i waiting for?...

so, imagine the joy of doing the rest of my laundry, going into town to get the mail, eating lunch, watching sports, etc... all while knowing my asshole is bleeding. good times.

thankfully, Manchester United lifted my spirits a bit today. they won 2-1 over Stoke City. given that Rooney nor Di Maria played today, i'm pleased with the result. they are slowly turning the corner to becoming a top 4 team again. here's the game in a GIF:

as for last night, the New York Rangers were up 3-2 and had just killed off a 5 on 3 power play when they suddenly just went to shit. 4 straight goals over the next 30 minutes for Tampa Bay and the Rangers lose 6-3. thank fucking god we don't play that team again this season. and god willing, we won't see them in the playoffs either.

Monday Night Raw was quite honestly just about 3 hours of filler. i was so fucking bored that i actually fell asleep during the main event.

The Voice was good last night. i saw bits and pieces of the performances last night and this morning on YouTube. while many of them were good, nothing really blew my mind. i suppose i'm still bitter about the results from last week. i'm interested to see who gets voted off tonight.

i ended up ending my 6 game losing streak with my one fantasy football team. of course, my other team had their 8 game winning streak stopped in the other league i'm in. but, that team did qualify for the playoffs, so that goal is accomplished.

i heard back from Russell at The Camel Saloon on my poetry submission from yesterday. he passed on what i sent. back to the drawing board i suppose. but, that certainly fits with how my day was going.

that's all for me today. i'm off to go ice down my back and figure out what to eat for dinner.

thanks again for allowing me to waste some of your precious time.

a busy morning

i got something resembling 5 hours of sleep last night. i haven't got my usual, you were out in the sun too long asshole, shits yet, so i have that to look forward to later today. i did manage to get the grass cut in a little under 4 hours. so, maybe i wasn't out in it too long. the clouds are getting dark right now. i made sure to get the cats fed before it rains.

i did type up the 5 poems i wrote yesterday waiting for my mother to get out of her MRI. i really like these. i will send them out in my next batch of submissions.

this morning i sent out 17 poems. 2 to BoySlut and 3 each to Jellyfish Whispers, Pink Litter, Dead Snakes, The Camel Saloon, and Pyrokinection. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

today is my father's birthday. i wasn't sure i should submit some poems today, given the horrific nature of this date. but, i figured i would roll the dice.

the Yankees came from behind again last night to win 6-4. amazingly, that is their 17th straight win at home against Toronto. they will hopefully extend that streak later this afternoon.

also today, Manchester United takes on Roma. that should be a good test for the new system the boys are playing. i'll be curious to see who LvG plays today.

tonight, i believe the UFC is on FOX. plus, ROH has a new episode. also, i think there is some boxing on. so, looks like it will be a night of combat sports.

i did watch the new episode of Treehouse Masters last night. if i EVER get some fuck you money in my life, i'm getting one of these tricked out treehouses. they are fucking amazing.

i did manage to finally catch up with all i missed on YouTube on Thursday and Friday. i think i'm getting too old to keep up with the digital age. i can just imagine how distracted i would be if i actually had a smartphone. not sure how much longer i can keep fighting that.

so far, i'm holding strong.

wow, my back just tightened up. there is definitely rain on the way.

well, with that, i'm cutting this short.

mom has been mentioning that we might go to the Celtic Festival later today. if that does happen, i'll be sure to take along a camera.

hope this finds everyone well. i do hope you enjoy your weekend. only fuck the ones that cough.

be creative. be amazing. be easy. be easy again. and again. and again...

the joy of victory

i had a good feeling going into game 7 last night for the New York Rangers. and the Rangers did what they had to do. a very tidy 2-1 win over the Flyers. now they get to face the crybaby Penguins starting tomorrow night. i will hopefully be fully recovered by then. i hit the alcohol a little hard after the game last night. add that to adrenaline and you get some asshole that's up to 4 in the morning trying to jerk off to the home shopping network. and of course, i was back up after 3 hours of sleep. good times.

the New York Yankees play Seattle tonight, that is if the weather cooperates. hopefully it does as i would like to see a victory and taste a victory beer tonight.

and for a little break today, enjoy some music:

i believe The Big Bang Theory is new tonight, so i'll be watching that. also, there is plenty of playoff basketball to watch tonight. as well as the start of the second round of the NHL playoffs with Boston and Montreal playing each other. if you are only a casual viewer of hockey, watch that game tonight and appreciate the pure hatred there is between those 2 teams.

i did manage to catch Legit and Ali G. last night. Legit keeps getting better and better. last night had me laughing my ass off. and it just wasn't the alcohol either. very fucking funny.

the weather is screwy here again. barely made it to 55 degrees today with a wind that felt like fucking October. and after i fed the cats i really know i need to cut the fucking grass soon. so, if these winds can dry this place out quick enough, i may be doing some grass cutting tomorrow. of course, the way shit has been going so far this week, it will rain again. i probably should make sure i have enough gas to mow the 4 acres or so i need to mow.

that's all today folks. mother nature will determine when i'll be on here tomorrow. hopefully everyone enjoyed all the links for national poetry month in April. and hopefully i will have some good poetry news to share here real soon.

peace and chicken grease my enemies...

not a happy camper

so i settled in to watch Manchester United play this afternoon in the Ukraine in Champions League group play when the breaking news came on. Wayne Rooney was ill (then later reported to be injured, who the fuck knows what the truth is) and not available for today. so, i was prepared for the worst. they had the lead at halftime 1-0, but were lucky at best to have that. then, they decided to play the second half by just sitting back and trying to defend. you probably know how this story ends... 1-1. they are extremely lucky to get a point. they didn't deserve it. what i loved about Sir Alex's Manchester United teams was they always went forward. sure, it kept the other team in the game as well, but it was always entertaining. sadly, those days are fucking gone. perhaps they play better this weekend against the worst team (so far) in the premier league. or, this fucking nightmare continues.

at least my fantasy hockey team got off to a good start last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i find it funny that every 4 chair turn at the end of the night goes to Adam. creative editing i imagine. i guess next week will be the final picks for teams. then the show will pick up the pace.

after a new episode of Duck Dynasty, i will be getting ready for the season finale of The Bridge. my hopes are set pretty damn high for this one. i really hope it leaves me begging for more or scratching my head trying to figure out the questions left unanswered. sure, i'm setting myself up for disappointment... i'm 37 and live with my mother, you think i don't understand disappointment.

sometime either before or after all this, i need to work in a shower.

my cat Michael Jackson is still alive. it dragged itself underneath the summer kitchen today. my best guess is it went under there to die. i suppose i will know in the next few days.

i was a little stunned when i saw the news about Tom Clancy. and then i thought about all the writers that were secretly celebrating, hoping that maybe they would get a chance now to sell some books. dog eat dog world out here my friends.

that's all for today. the New York Rangers play their first game of the season tomorrow. i might be a little edgy tomorrow. just a little.

a fly went right in my mouth and i swallowed

i figure that should give my white blood cells a workout. i was busying typing up the 3 poems i wrote today and wouldn't have even noticed the little fucker in my mouth if it wouldn't have started moving. that's when i swallowed as i was too busy to be distracted. i suppose there will be a poem about this before too long.

as for the 3 poems i wrote, i really like 2 of them. so, i know damn well the one i don't like as much will be the first one accepted and/or published. that's just how it goes sometimes. i do know where i am sending out the 13 poems tomorrow. full details after they have been sent.

the internet was actually working the way it's supposed to this morning. and of course, here come the fuckers from Frontier Communications to change the modem out. so, i have to get offline, not like i was busy doing anything (listening to a podcast and emailing some folks at the same time) so these fuckers can realize, there's nothing wrong with the modem. talk about a company refusing to believe THEY are the ones fucking shit up. they also lied to my mother about the discount she was going to receive each month for the rest of the year. good thing my mother writes all this shit down. can't wait to see the letters to the company president and who the fuck else will get blasted. so once again, if you have the choice between Frontier Communications and eating a bowl of steaming shit, take the shit.

another game, another Yankees loss. that's probably more time than i should spend on them. though i think they had a closed door meeting after the loss last night. if they lose again tonight, i really hope heads start to fucking roll.

i did enjoy Hard Knocks last night on HBO. though i do hate when an episode ends with a kid getting a season ending injury.

i have decided i'm only doing 2 fantasy football teams this year. i figure with the internet being a piece of shit and not knowing when we might be moving, i would take a step back. of course, i still expect to win with both teams.

i didn't see my cat Whitey this afternoon when i went out to feed them. it's a rare enough occurrence that i actually noticed it. it will be very interesting to see if she's around come tomorrow. she's the ring leader of all of them out here.

tonight will be what's becoming my normal Wednesday night viewing, Big Brother, Duck Dynasty, and The Bridge. and for torture, i'll flip to the Yankees during commercials.

that's all for today. take it easy and if it's easy, take it again.

some deadlines just come and go

so i spent most of today going through old papers that need to be shredded, listening to some new music, and watching all the baseball trade chatter going on online. i'm not shocked that the Yankees did nothing. management seems determined to drive that team right to mediocre. that should go over well with the fan base.

the Yankees lost last night 3-2 on a walk off hit by the Dodgers. i've been beaten down by this season so much that the anger doesn't even last anymore. yet another game where the pitching was good enough to win but the offense, outside of Overbay, did nothing. i give them even less of a chance to win tonight against one of the best pitchers in baseball.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was great last night. next season will be pretty different with so many guys leaving or changing crews.

tonight i'll be watching Big Brother and the best show on television, The Bridge.

i did get my order from amazon.com today. so, you'll be seeing some strange names in the music section of the posts. today will be a perfect example.

i may sneak in a few views of the MLS All-Star game tonight as well.

today has been pretty damn dreary out here on the farm. no sun at all. just this haze that is filled with apathy.

add another cat to the danger list. i haven't seen my cat Jermaine Jackson in a few weeks now. i'm pretty sure both it and the cat Walt Whitman are both gone for good. i suppose by the middle of August i'll know for sure.

well, just finished my lunch of a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk. not sure if that will help my stomach or not. the way my body has been acting here lately, perhaps it is time for a lobotomy or an exorcism.

and with that lovely visual in your minds, i bid you a fond farewell for today.
