and so it begins...

tonight begins the only playoffs that truly matter to me... the quest for the greatest trophy in all of sports...
if you aren't a fan of hockey, i beg you to watch just one playoff game. dare to watch one game in person. and then you will realize why you will be watching for the rest of your life. i don't have high hopes that the New York Rangers will win their first Stanley Cup since their glorious run in 1994. but, i will be living and dying with them until they are eliminated. god willing, that won't be until the playoffs are over in June. go get 'em boys, the mission starts tonight in Montreal.

the New York Yankees came from behind today to win 8-4. i'm really liking this team so far. plenty of young kids to root for. they will go for the sweep over Tampa tomorrow night.

Smackdown was great last night. i absolutely love that Kevin Owens is on the show now. just the possibility of matches between him and AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura should have every wrestling fan drooling.

205 Live last night was really good. i do enjoy a heel TJ Perkins.

The Voice was a recap of what has happened so far on the season. the live shows should be great, starting on Monday.

Deadliest Catch was awesome last night. i guess if there is one way for the climate change deniers to actually realize it's happening, it would be by watching this show.

i listened to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Podcast late yesterday. you can find that by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-021-jason-statham-tyrese-gibson

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Total Divas. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i figure most of the evening will be devoted to playoff hockey.

i will be on here tomorrow after my doctor's appointment and after Manchester United plays in the Europa League.

hopefully there will be no long overtimes tonight as my appointment is early in the morning tomorrow.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

sunshine and trash

welcome to the 12th day of National Poetry Month. in yet another sign of my professional laziness, enjoy 3 random YouTube videos. and this time, i do mean random, as i know none of these people.

i didn't watch much of the Yankees game yesterday. apparently, i didn't miss much. 8-4 loss to Boston, yet again. they will try to not get swept tonight, and thankfully, i won't watch much of that either.

the New York Rangers won yesterday 4-2 in Washington. they set the franchise record for wins in a season, wins on the road in a season, total points for a season, etc. etc. they are primed and ready for the playoffs. they play the Penguins in the first round. considering my good friend Paul's favorite team is the Penguins, i'm really hoping to have some fun with this. below are the highlights from yesterday:

i ended up losing my fantasy hockey championship 6-4-0. all i needed was 2 damn assists and 7 fucking penalty minutes and i would have won. instead, i get to settle for my 4th consecutive second place finish. fuck me.

i haven't got to watch the episode of ROH from last night yet. i figure i'll do that sometime tonight. i did catch Saturday Night Live. i thought Mumford and Sons sounded pretty good. as for the show, a few of the skits were funny, but most of the show sucked.

i didn't sleep well last night. i figured that was all due to the Manchester derby.

United started the game off like shit. they got down early. thankfully, this isn't last year's squad. they found some form, made some passes, and holy shit, scored 2 goals to take the lead by half. they then went to score 2 more in the second half before Shitty scored again late. Manchester United 4 - Manchester Shitty 2. what a beautiful day. here are some highlights:

after the game, i went over to the farm and met my mother and sister. i took a ton of trash down to the end of the lane. hopefully it won't get windy tonight. brought another load of stuff over to the new house. the one side of the garage is just about full. my sister and i got a few more things hung up around the house.

tonight will be my usual Sunday night viewing. Nurse Jackie, Veep and Silicon Valley all return tonight. so does some other show that i've never watched. i'm recording all 3 just in case i start watching some other shit tonight. i know that MSG is doing a special show about the New York Rangers tonight. that will be on the DVR as well. i'll also try to squeeze in Last Week Tonight sometime as well. busy busy.

i got my order from Amazon.com yesterday. i was a little surprised the mailman left it leaning up against the garage. i might have to have a talk with him if that's what going to happen all the time.

that's all for me today. i have a victory beer and some music to go enjoy. hope you are having a lovely weekend.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

not a happy camper

so i settled in to watch Manchester United play this afternoon in the Ukraine in Champions League group play when the breaking news came on. Wayne Rooney was ill (then later reported to be injured, who the fuck knows what the truth is) and not available for today. so, i was prepared for the worst. they had the lead at halftime 1-0, but were lucky at best to have that. then, they decided to play the second half by just sitting back and trying to defend. you probably know how this story ends... 1-1. they are extremely lucky to get a point. they didn't deserve it. what i loved about Sir Alex's Manchester United teams was they always went forward. sure, it kept the other team in the game as well, but it was always entertaining. sadly, those days are fucking gone. perhaps they play better this weekend against the worst team (so far) in the premier league. or, this fucking nightmare continues.

at least my fantasy hockey team got off to a good start last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i find it funny that every 4 chair turn at the end of the night goes to Adam. creative editing i imagine. i guess next week will be the final picks for teams. then the show will pick up the pace.

after a new episode of Duck Dynasty, i will be getting ready for the season finale of The Bridge. my hopes are set pretty damn high for this one. i really hope it leaves me begging for more or scratching my head trying to figure out the questions left unanswered. sure, i'm setting myself up for disappointment... i'm 37 and live with my mother, you think i don't understand disappointment.

sometime either before or after all this, i need to work in a shower.

my cat Michael Jackson is still alive. it dragged itself underneath the summer kitchen today. my best guess is it went under there to die. i suppose i will know in the next few days.

i was a little stunned when i saw the news about Tom Clancy. and then i thought about all the writers that were secretly celebrating, hoping that maybe they would get a chance now to sell some books. dog eat dog world out here my friends.

that's all for today. the New York Rangers play their first game of the season tomorrow. i might be a little edgy tomorrow. just a little.
