like a punch to the dick...

the New York Rangers lost last night at Florida, 2-1. that ends their run in the playoffs. i can't wait to see what changes they make this summer. i just hope this isn't another case of wasting another stellar career of a goalie like they did to Henrik Lundqvist. Igor Shesterkin was easily their best player in the playoffs. if they would have got some consistent scoring from their top players in this series, they would have won. but, as i was telling my mother last night, the difference is easy to see. the Rangers don't have any player on that team that would be willing to kill a family member to win the Stanley Cup. Florida has at least five of them.

the New York Yankees won last night at San Francisco, 7-3. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

AEW Collision was good last night.

the USWNT defeated South Korea yesterday 4-0.

Real Madrid won the Champions League yesterday by defeating Borussia Dortmund, 2-0.

the joys of a bad back...

my back is killing me and i still have the fucking trash to do. i changed out the mat for mom's chair at her computer and it was in way better shape than mine. so, i took hers into my room and decided to trash mine. my sister got my mother a new, really nice mat for her birthday. my mat is old as fuck and wouldn't bend for shit, so i had to get creative to fit it in trash bags. that also meant throwing my back out and getting a nice little cut as well. any good deed...

i wrote 14 poems today while waiting for my mother in the parking lot of where she got her back injection. i'm going to type those up sometime tonight.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

Fuck That's Delicious was hilarious last night.

I May Destroy You was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Deadliest Catch.

i think the plan for tomorrow is to do the blog in the morning since Manchester United is playing in the afternoon. and then i'll do the grocery shopping after that is over.

in case that doesn't happen, here's a preview for United's game tomorrow:

i need to get the trash picked up here and next door, so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow.

one of those days where humans are only in the way...

when it's hot and sticky out, i have a short fuse. now, i don't seek conflict, never really have, but my blood truly fucking boils when i see the ignorance or just flat out stupidity of society. today's culprit was this old woman who certainly shouldn't be behind the wheel of any vehicle, let alone the SUV she was driving today. it's bad enough when a drive-thru is packed. it's worse when someone has to maintain 6 fucking feet of distance between her and the vehicle in front of her. let's just say i was on her ass as closely as i could be, truly tempted to simply move her out of the way. i never did. i believe that is known as maturity.

i went to Meijer today to stock up on some stuff we were running low on. i was hoping to find some picture frames for the art i have been getting here lately. of course, no luck with that.

the New York Yankees lost last night in Oakland, 6-2. Sanchez and Judge hit solo home runs for the Yankees runs last night. my fear is the pitching isn't going to be good enough for them to win in the playoffs this year. and seeing that these are games Oakland has to win to have a chance to make the playoffs, i won't be surprised if the Yankees lose again tonight.

Smackdown was good last night. 205 Live was very good last night.

Miz & Mrs. was hilarious last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

Hard Knocks was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Songland and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i did watch NXT UK this afternoon. it was excellent.

i have to take mom to a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. i believe we are going out to lunch after that. so, i will probably do the blog when i get back home in the afternoon.

i'm hoping Songland will be posted online early so i can watch it before i leave tomorrow. it's going to be interesting to see what happens with our local NBC station once football gets going.

that's all for me kids. i have a shitty back i need to go ice down.

oh my, after more than 4 hours of sleep...

so, i was able to sleep without being violently woken up overnight. i got somewhere close to 5 hours of sleep total. now, the only problem is my left leg is swollen. and the troubling part of that, the swelling reminds of a decade ago when i had blood clots. so, i'm going to do my best today of staying off my feet. hopefully, that will help the swelling go down. if that doesn't work, i will probably be going to a doctor or a hospital tomorrow. i know if it is a blood clot, i need to catch it as soon as possible. so, if you happen to see nothing on the blog for a few days, there's a good chance that i have been admitted somewhere. good times.

i just watched team USA defeat Canada 4-1 to win the Bronze medal at the World Hockey Championships. Chris Kreider from the New York Rangers scored 2 goals for the USA.

the New York Yankees broke out the long ball last night and defeated the Royals 8-3. the Yankees hit 5 home runs in the game. hopefully they will get the series win this afternoon in Kansas City.

it looks like YouTube isn't playing along with me today, so i don't know how many videos this blog is actually going to have today.

i did watch some the Tampa Bay Lightning defeating Washington last night 3-2. that means the Lighting, or Rangers South, are 1 win away from going to the Stanley Cup Final.

i did watch some of Cleveland destroying Boston last night in the Eastern Conference Finals by 30. Boston is up in that series 2-1 now.

ROH was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Saturday Night Live was pretty fucking hilarious last night. i swear every celebrity in New York City was on the show last night.

Patrick Melrose was excellent last night.

i watched maybe the first 30 minutes of Fahrenheit 451 last night on HBO. it was good but certainly not good enough for me to stay up for.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Billions, I'm Dying Up Here, Westworld, Last Week Tonight, Drop the Mic and Total Bellas.

i will probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs today as well.

i did watch Justify win the Preakness Stakes yesterday. that means there will be a chance for a Triple Crown winner this year.

that's all for me kids. i really do need to get my leg up.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

what up fools

as some of you may know, April is poetry month. so, this year i am going to put a link to either a poem, or a story, or an article, or something at the start of each blog as my little ode to national poetry month. so, today, here you go:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/victoria-chang/13-poetry-collections-for_b_5065153.html

i'm a little stunned at the moment as i was fully expecting Manchester United to get hammered today. amazingly, they drew 1-1. of course, Bayern gets the big away goal but at least this gives me hope that next week in Germany United has a chance. this also pisses me off as i wonder where the fuck was this defensive effort in the Premier League this year. oh well.

a big night for me as the New York Yankees start another season. and it is the last season for Derek Jeter. so, i'll probably be a sap in this blog from time to time with my memories of my second favorite Yankee of all time. they start the season in Houston, which hopefully leads to some wins right away.

also tonight, the New York Rangers play in Vancouver. so, more stories about the coaches seeing their old teams, etc... all i really give a shit about is the Rangers winning.

also tonight is the next episode of The Voice. they are hyping this as amazing tonight... we'll see. i did enjoy last night's episode. i still believe Usher has the best team.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. Bray Wyatt has the chance to be one of the best ever cutting promos. and i really enjoyed Daniel Bryan beating the shit out of HHH at the end. that should set up this weekend rather well. i'll be getting Wrestlemania and whenever we move, i do plan on getting the WWE Network. but i'll definitely need a better high speed internet for that to happen.

i didn't do much today as my mom wasn't feeling well so i made sure to be around for her. she has surgery in a few weeks so i think her nerves may be getting to her. so, i'm trying to be the asshole that makes her laugh and take her minds off of things. good times.

got another cartoon from my friend in Sweden today. i'm going to have to find a publisher for this shit. it's too good not to be seen.

that's all for me today kids. no good April Fools jokes today, other than what The Flaming Lips pulled off. i was busy trying to clean up messes in the cellar. fun.

i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. i'm planning on doing some groundwork on getting ready to send some poems out here soon. so expect plenty of music to be consumed tomorrow.

take it easy my enemies, and then take it again.

amazing what some sleep can do for you

i actually woke up in a decent mood today. maybe it was the shower yesterday, maybe it was the 2 extra hours of sleep i got. probably both.

i did watch American Horror Story last night. looks like it should be a pretty damn good season. the cast is amazing. i think it's funny that the older i get the more i seem to be getting into horror and shit like that. i guess i'm living my life in reverse.

Duck Dynasty was pretty funny last night. not being a fan of beef jerky myself, i had a few extra laughs at their attempt at jerky coming out tasting like shit.

busy night on the television this evening. The Big Bang Theory, a big NFL game, some playoff baseball, the New York Rangers out in Anaheim, plus all the other shit i tend to watch to avoid commercials.

i am hoping the NFL game turns out the way i want, i took Chicago in the knockout pools i'm in. i somehow have managed to not lose yet. plus, there are some fantasy implications this evening as well. i am favored in both of my fantasy matches. here's hoping that comes true.

spent most of today listening to music on YouTube and then i stumbled upon this video:
if that doesn't make you tear up a little, you have no fucking soul.

in a little poetry news, i heard from my good friend Janne Karlsson on a submission he sent out that included the cartoon he did of my poem "a faint notion of sweetness". apparently that has been accepted for publication in Tree Killer Ink. and i believe we are getting closer to seeing more of our collaboration be unleashed upon the earth. i really hope that comes to fruition. it's some of my best work ever.

that's all for today. hope this finds everyone well. a welcome back to reality to my friend in Sweden. put down one glass of wine and pick up the pen my friend. you have 2 hands for a reason. and they make special hats if you truly need more alcohol at once.

at least they can't disappoint me any more this season

i didn't watch much of the Yankees last night as i saw they were already losing by the time i turned on the game. then i had the joy of flipping back to the game when Tampa blew the game wide open. so, that's that. for the 2nd time in 19 years, the Yankees won't be in the playoffs. unlike many Yankees fans today, i remember a good portion of the 19 years before this run. this will be a crazy offseason for the team. and if this season is any indication, i expect full blown fucking chaos. i might tune in tonight for a little bit, mostly because it will be the last time Mo is a member of the team in that stadium.

i'm pretty happy that the New York Rangers finally signed Derek Stepan. now, hopefully the team can get going and start the season off good. considering they are on the road for the first 2 weeks or so, they will need every point possible.

The Bridge last night was a bit disappointing. a slow burn that never really went anywhere. teaches me for believing the damn previews. hopefully the finale next week blows me away.

not sure what i'll be watching this evening as it all depends on when i get back from the airport. hopefully it's in time to watch The Big Bang Theory and then some NFL. i've got some guys playing tonight, so i'll probably torture myself and watch.

i did write 3 poems last night. i typed them up earlier today and think they are pretty good. i hope to write a few more before the month ends.

that's pretty much all for now. i'll be sitting here taking a nap waiting for the phone to ring.

be well.

end of the silly season

i will be spending a good portion of today waiting to see confirmed news about Manchester United signing someone, ANYONE. one thing i have learned about news in Europe, none of it is true until it actually happens. speculation is passed as fact. personally, that drives me fucking insane.

my shitty Sunday was topped off by the Yankees pissing away a well pitched game by Andy Pettitte. watching a 3-0 lead with 9 outs to go suddenly become a 7-3 deficit and eventual loss was disheartening to say the least. they play the White Sox later today. Phil Hughes is on the mound. i put the over/under on the number of home runs he gives up at 3. i'm not looking forward to this.

Big Brother was just about what i was expecting. i already know who won the POV, so i'm really hoping the double eviction gets out the 2 bitches i can't stand, Amanda and Elissa. i'm pulling for Judd to win it now.

Total Divas was pretty funny. i love how clueless 19 year old women can be at times. nice to see Curt Hawkins get more screen time than he gets on Raw or Smackdown. (he was on for maybe 3 seconds at most).

my fantasy draft for NFL.com went pretty well. it should be another team i will be able to compete with, especially if my waiver wire moves come through. hard to believe that season starts in just a few days.

so, between this morning and last night, i have written 6 new poems. i typed all of them up this morning and i do believe i have a few winners. i think i'll be making some submissions probably early next week.

i believe i have finally figured out the kittens mystery. for almost a month i had not seen a cat nursing the 4 new kittens. but, they still weren't dead, so someone was. so, after the Yankees bullpen became arsonists yesterday, i went out to the barn. and sure enough, i caught my cat Irvine Welsh nursing one of the kittens. so, i'm going to assume that she's the mother. they are now out of the igloo, so i'm going to have to watch my steps when i'm feeding the cats in there. if i step on one of them, i'm pretty sure they will be dead.

seeing that today is a holiday in the USA, i will most likely spend most of the day watching sports and eating bad food. but other than the Yankees game and Monday Night Raw, i really have no clue what i'll be watching. football season has started, so between college and pro, there's a game on pretty much every night.

that's all for today. i have cats to feed, a newspaper to read, and a Yankees team to go bitch about.

peace and chicken grease.

a fly went right in my mouth and i swallowed

i figure that should give my white blood cells a workout. i was busying typing up the 3 poems i wrote today and wouldn't have even noticed the little fucker in my mouth if it wouldn't have started moving. that's when i swallowed as i was too busy to be distracted. i suppose there will be a poem about this before too long.

as for the 3 poems i wrote, i really like 2 of them. so, i know damn well the one i don't like as much will be the first one accepted and/or published. that's just how it goes sometimes. i do know where i am sending out the 13 poems tomorrow. full details after they have been sent.

the internet was actually working the way it's supposed to this morning. and of course, here come the fuckers from Frontier Communications to change the modem out. so, i have to get offline, not like i was busy doing anything (listening to a podcast and emailing some folks at the same time) so these fuckers can realize, there's nothing wrong with the modem. talk about a company refusing to believe THEY are the ones fucking shit up. they also lied to my mother about the discount she was going to receive each month for the rest of the year. good thing my mother writes all this shit down. can't wait to see the letters to the company president and who the fuck else will get blasted. so once again, if you have the choice between Frontier Communications and eating a bowl of steaming shit, take the shit.

another game, another Yankees loss. that's probably more time than i should spend on them. though i think they had a closed door meeting after the loss last night. if they lose again tonight, i really hope heads start to fucking roll.

i did enjoy Hard Knocks last night on HBO. though i do hate when an episode ends with a kid getting a season ending injury.

i have decided i'm only doing 2 fantasy football teams this year. i figure with the internet being a piece of shit and not knowing when we might be moving, i would take a step back. of course, i still expect to win with both teams.

i didn't see my cat Whitey this afternoon when i went out to feed them. it's a rare enough occurrence that i actually noticed it. it will be very interesting to see if she's around come tomorrow. she's the ring leader of all of them out here.

tonight will be what's becoming my normal Wednesday night viewing, Big Brother, Duck Dynasty, and The Bridge. and for torture, i'll flip to the Yankees during commercials.

that's all for today. take it easy and if it's easy, take it again.

where does the time go

i was a little shocked last night when the Yankees scored 3 runs in the 9th to beat the Dodgers 3-0. i didn't expect that at all. and as much as i would like to think that could be the start of something, 99% of me knows this season is a lost cause. but i did enjoy the victory beer.

let me peel back the onion a bit and show you what my day has been like. i did the dishes this morning with my back only hurting a little. i have a hard time standing for more than 15 minutes at a time. took my first shit in 48 hours. then, as i was washing my hands and watching the water pressure get weaker, i knew the water filter must be full again. we've been on this month long shit now of having to change the damn filter every 10 days. i then take a shower and get ready to go into to town to mail a book out and get the mail. i stop at the end of the lane, walk across the street and there's no paper. mom later tells me it was there this morning, so i guess some fucker stole the newspaper. i then have my lunch of celery and peanut butter, not because i'm trying to be healthy, but more because i'm too fucking lazy to get some more bread at the store.

hope you enjoyed that...

The Bridge last night was excellent. i really enjoyed the twist at the end that i didn't see coming but really opens up a ton of possibilities now on who the killer is. absolutely the best show on television right now.

tonight i'll be watching Big Brother and Wilfred. i believe i know which person is going home tonight on Big Brother, just not sure if it's the black person the racist HOH wants to leave. i'd love to see it be a tie and she then has to vote out someone.

Wilfred should be the usual hilariousness that i love. i have to hand it to FX. they really have built quite the stable of great shows.

i did catch bits and pieces of the MLS All-Star game last night. from what i saw i don't believe i missed much at all.

no Yankees tonight so i'll probably catch some highlights on the MLB Network as the night goes along. and if i really get desperate, i'll watch some pro wrestling from TNA that i hardly ever watch.

as a bright spot today, i did download some great music on NoiseTrade for FREE. if you are a fan of Lucero, The Black Crowes, Alabama Shakes, Kings of Leon, etc. i urge you to get this music. it's only up for 2 weeks. you can find it by going here:

that's all for today. i'm hoping to mow some grass tomorrow, so i doubt i will blog anything until much later in the day. or, after the Yankees game in San Diego, which means it would be early Saturday morning most likely. until then...
