the New York Rangers lost last night at Florida, 2-1. that ends their run in the playoffs. i can't wait to see what changes they make this summer. i just hope this isn't another case of wasting another stellar career of a goalie like they did to Henrik Lundqvist. Igor Shesterkin was easily their best player in the playoffs. if they would have got some consistent scoring from their top players in this series, they would have won. but, as i was telling my mother last night, the difference is easy to see. the Rangers don't have any player on that team that would be willing to kill a family member to win the Stanley Cup. Florida has at least five of them.

i actually got a haircut today...
amazingly, my back felt pretty decent today. so, i was able to stand long enough to shave and shower. after that, i needed to go to Kroger to get mom's pills. and then i went to get a haircut. a big thank you to Kelly for doing a great job. hopefully she likes her tip.
here are your highlights from Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night. Denver is up 1-0 in the series, winning Game 1, 104-93. Game 2 will be on Sunday.

what a night...
the New York Rangers started off hot last night. 71 seconds in and they were up 1-0. of course, Tampa Bay tied it up before the period was over. the play was back and forth for most of the second period. and then, the Kid line for the Rangers took over. between them, the crowd being loud the entire game and Tampa obviously being a step slow, the Rangers won 6-2. to get that many goals past the best goalie in the world was great. now, Tampa is 18-0 in the playoffs after a loss. so, i'm really hoping on Friday night, the Rangers take it to them again.

nothing but rain...
it started raining last night and it is still raining this morning. it is supposed to rain all day which will make this day truly unfucking bearable. i would love if the rain stopped long enough for me to get the grocery shopping done this afternoon.
the Yankees finally won last night, thanks to Clint Frazier. he made a great catch to keep the game tied last night and then hit a 2 run walk off homer in the 11th to win the game over Tampa, 5-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.

maybe one of these days i'll actually sleep in....
the New York Yankees won last night in Baltimore 4-1. they are now just 1/2 game behind Boston in the division. they play again this afternoon, weather permitting. the last thing the Yankees need are more games rained out.
VICE was really good last night.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Major League Wrestling was good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was very good last night.
Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was very good last night as well.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Patrick Melrose.
the USA men's national team plays a soccer friendly today at Ireland. this should be a bigger test for them than Bolivia was.
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight in Washington. i will probably watch a good portion of that.
i should probably do my laundry today as well.
i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. it's not that i have plans, i'm just hoping to get some fucking good sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours.
i hope everyone has a good Saturday. take it easy and then take it again.

i never shy away from a challenge
i just got out of the shower. my mother asked me how was it? i told her it felt like i was one step closer to death. she asked why and i said i look at us being on a race to death. and you're winning and i'm competitive. she didn't see the humor.
mom's nurse came this morning. everything was good. mom's physical therapist (who is smoking hot, holy shit) came a little later. everything was good. about 90 minutes later, her occupational therapist came. everything was good. roughly a hour after all that, mom was complaining about her back. i told her to take the stronger pain drug, but of course she wants to be a fucking martyr. so, i will probably be buying more damn ice packs before too long.
the New York Yankees crushed the Blue Jays last night, 12-2. CC pitched great and Gary Sanchez hit 2 home runs. on top of all that, Aaron Hicks had 6 RBI. hopefully they can do it again tonight.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.
i didn't watch any of Game 1 last night. judging from the highlights, Rihanna was probably the most entertaining thing about the game.
i am going to try to be on here tomorrow before the Champions League Final. of course, that all depends on what emergency run i have to make tomorrow; drug store, grocery store, etc. i believe my sister is coming down for the weekend as well. joy.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i need to go figure out what mom wants for dinner. something hot is just a little too vague for me.

dodging bullets
a little heads up for everyone, i just heard from Paula Cary at poethound.blogspot.com that my book, Sofisticated White Trash, will be featured on the site on June 4th.
and while on the subject of the book, a special thank you to Doug Draime for the kind words. you have no idea how much that means to me coming from you.
thankfully, the Yankees weren't available for me to watch on television. and as soon as Phil Hughes gave up the grand slam, i quit following it online as well. a pathetic 11-1 loss. they play again tonight on ESPN. thank god i will have other things to watch.
i did catch a great deal of the NHL final four yesterday. these 2 series are going to be great as there is already plenty of hatred after game 1.
and i guess the NBA got what it wanted as well. amazing that Miami has turned into LeBron's old Cleveland teams in just a matter of days. game 7 should be interesting for a little while at least. of course, if the NBA wants absolutely no one to watch the finals, let Indiana win.
made it back from my sister's place yesterday in one piece. how the two of us come from the same DNA is amazing to me. complete opposite ends of the spectrum. love her just the same though, but man, she has more rich shit than i can even think of.
as for today, i believe i will take a nap to some NASCAR, hopefully watch team USA play better against Germany than they should, and of course, my usual Sunday night programming to finish off the day. and if the Yankees actually win, a victory beer to cap it all off.
hope everyone is having a great weekend. until tomorrow...
