not that i am complaining, but it would have been nice to been able to help publicize this when it was actually going out. oh well. i had 8 poems published in the book ";Or, How We Stopped Warming Up for 20 years and Learned to Exit the Green Room". my poems included in the book are: "trash", "nobody likes a quitter", "now serving number...", "god", "petty little arguments", "procrastination", "on the shore of luck" and "fork in the road". below is the Amazon.com link to the book. other poets in the book include Iris Berry, Kevin M. Hibshman, Laura Joy Lustig, Catfish McDaris, B.Z. Niditch, Normal, Mark Sonnenfeld, Lindsay Wilson, and many more.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

nothing but rain...
it started raining last night and it is still raining this morning. it is supposed to rain all day which will make this day truly unfucking bearable. i would love if the rain stopped long enough for me to get the grocery shopping done this afternoon.
the Yankees finally won last night, thanks to Clint Frazier. he made a great catch to keep the game tied last night and then hit a 2 run walk off homer in the 11th to win the game over Tampa, 5-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
Mr. Inbetween was really good last night.
enjoy some music
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.
i will be flipping tonight between the NHL and NBA playoffs and the baseball game.
after i take mom to her doctor's appointment this afternoon, i have to get the grocery shopping done as well as take out the trash. good times.
my sister and her friend are traveling today. hopefully, they get where they are going safely.
i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. maybe the early afternoon.
until then kids...

just imagine what i could get done if i could actually sleep more than 4 hours a day...
let's start off today with a little poetry news. i sent out 32 poems this morning. 3 each to Red Eft Review and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Deuce Coupe, Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and Ink Pantry; 6 poems to Record Magazine. i also sent out queries to Rusty Truck and Fourth & Sycamore on poems i sent in the last quarter of 2019 that i haven't heard back on. so, when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
mom's appointment with the doctor went well yesterday. she was a little shocked at how nice the new doctor's offices are. they spent $9 Million on the building, so it should be nice. after the appointment, we went to Waffle House for lunch. i listened to our waitress talk about all the guns she likes to shoot. the joys of living in the sticks.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be WWE Backstage and Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time.
i forgot that Manchester United was playing today. thank god i'm not watching as they are losing to Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of the league cup semi-finals.
the New York Rangers have called up their goalie from the AHL. he's probably the best goalie they have in the organization at the moment. and the guy i do expect to eventually replace The King. so, i'll be pretty interested in the Rangers game tonight at home against Colorado.
Manchester United has scored to make it 3-1 now.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think mom and i both will have pills to get at the grocery store and i think she wants to do a little shopping.
i have the trash to pickup here and next door and if i want to get that done before it gets dark, i basically have to start now.
so, that's all for me today kids.
until tomorrow...

more rain, oh goody
we've had over 3.5 inches of rain in the past 48 hours or so. i guess this does help the drought, but i don't live on a farm anymore, so i don't worry about that shit. my thoughts are concerning my arthritis and managing the fucking pain. good times.
mom has an appointment on Thursday for her back. so, hopefully we'll know soon what's up.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching from Chad Green last night and Aaron Judge proved my thoughts on him being the second coming of Dave Winfield might just be correct. the Yankees won 1-0. Green had 11 strikeouts 2 hits and no walks over 6 innings last night. Judge did something that no Yankee had ever done before. 3 games in the big leagues, 3 games with an extra base hit. his double drove in the only run last night. hopefully they can get another win tonight.
Monday Night Raw was rather boring last night, for the most part. i enjoyed Kevin Owens (as always), Brock Lesnar telling Heath Slater he didn't give a shit about his kids and that was about it. i really wish they would have saved Finn Balor's alter ego for SummerSlam. the crowd was quite dead for one of the coolest fucking things going today. i suppose that means Rollins will be winning on Sunday. stupid.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Hard Knocks.
i wrote 2 poems today. i think both are pretty damn good. i'm guessing that telemarketer wishes he wouldn't have called while i was masturbating...
i have trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for today kids.

sometimes you manage to outrun the demons
today would have been my father's 70th birthday. i mentioned the other day that part of the reason why i think i'm writing so much these days is mostly because that demon that was my father is gone. somehow, even though i first thought of killing myself at the age of 8, i still managed to outlive the one that i always felt wanted my death the most. i wouldn't say i look at it as victory or just... perhaps it's simply how life is supposed to go. i do know i haven't even scratched the fucking surface on poems about him. i will probably be writing about those horrors until the day i die. but i can literally feel a weight off of me. perhaps i'll actually get to have a life now. i won't hold my breath, but it certainly would be nice.
the New York Yankees won last night in Houston, 2-1. they are going to fuck around and think they still actually have a chance to make the playoffs. dammit. i already saw the owner say he won't let the GM trade off everyone. this team needs a fire sale so damn bad, it's so easy for everyone to see.
Monday Night Raw was excellent last night. new music, new set, new voice on commentary (thank fucking god for Corey Graves). i was thrilled with making Finn Balor the winner of the main event last night. that sets up Finn vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. dream match alert. also, i was so damn happy to see Sasha Banks win the women's championship last night. i don't think they could have asked for a better showing of what the new era will look like. hopefully Smackdown is just as good tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Deadliest Catch.
i got some excellent music on NoiseTrade today for FREE. i'll post the link in the music section below.
for some fucking reason, our garage door went up on its own twice today. i'm thinking we might have had an electrical storm given that my uncle complained that none of the things he had charging in his garage next door actually charged last night. of course, given that it's my father's birthday, i automatically started thinking of ghosts.
i didn't catch much of the Democratic convention last night, and i'm hoping to miss most of it. although, there was one speech that i did catch:
this country is going to look back and realize just how stupid they were to go against everything in the last 8 years. just think how far we would be past all this bullshit if the Republicans were just smart enough to give the President what he wanted and then take all the credit for it in the end. oh yeah, i forgot, racism doesn't allow shit like that to happen.
i have trash to pick up around here and i will hopefully get a shower done before the fucking rain comes. i've been achy all damn day.
i hope this finds everyone in good spirits or just drunk as hell.

crawling into that little weird space in my head
today was one of those days... i wouldn't say it's depression, it's certainly not joy... just that weird feeling i sometimes get when the pain isn't overbearing but i can feel it. it almost reminds me of when i was on drugs... the void. the certain need to find that spot to dwell, waste away. and i'm not saying this is a bad thing. i often find my best moments of creativity when i'm at my lowest. probably explains why i write so many poems on the toilet. today i put on the right music and it just happened to take me away. i was still able to get some shit done, so maybe i'm just a functioning dreamer.
i didn't watch one second of the Home Run Derby last night. i won't watch one second of the All Star game tonight. it actually feels good to be away from baseball for a few days.
Monday Night Raw had a few good moments (Seth Rollins was great last night) but was mostly just a bunch of blah. next week, the final Raw before the brand split, has the potential to be really good. but, potential and the WWE is usually a recipe for disaster.
i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast yesterday. you can find it by going here:

on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and Maya & Marty.
i did a little poetry work this afternoon. i should have a monster day of submissions coming up, most likely on Thursday.
the one thing that i did really like about being away from here was the amount of different shit i could write about. that's certainly the one drawback to living in a small town. especially when you don't really like going to any of the local bars and sitting around and shooting the shit with people. i do know when my imagination runs dry, i either have to move or convince myself i'm a better painter than a poet. and i doubt there are enough drugs in the world for that to happen.
i have trash to pick up and i really need to take a shower. it's a hot and sticky one here today. i was outside for maybe 20 minutes and had sweat running down into the crack of my ass. enjoy that visual.

restless nights stuck in my head
i couldn't find a comfortable spot in my bed last night for anything. i tried drinking, writing, porn, talking myself to sleep, music, etc... none of it fucking worked. i guess sometime around 4 in the morning my body just turned itself off. 5 hours later i was up, sore, pissed off, in other words, a normal Tuesday morning.
i did write a poem last night. i haven't typed it up yet, so i'm not going to pass judgment on it. it's one of my vague/love poems that i tend to crank out from time to time.
the college basketball game last night between Oklahoma and Kansas was an instant classic. i was in and out of it all night long. i urge all of you to check out the highlights.
Monday Night Raw had some good moments last night. it also had some stupid fucking moments as well. it did do one thing, completely change the Royal Rumble coming up. to see the heavyweight title being defended in the rumble match could be very entertaining. of course, i'm sure they will fuck it up somehow.
after the show i read the news of the WWE signing 4 guys from NJPW. i didn't think much of the report until i read this morning of what happened on the show after NJPW had their Wrestle Kingdom 10. now i am getting ready to go totally nuts the day i see AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura in a WWE ring. as i told one person last night, it surely would be a sign of the apocalypse. the other two guys in the report were Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. if they are planning on starting a new Bullet Club in WWE, i'm all for it. and they are bringing the two best to do it with. add in Finn Balor and a few other bad asses and good talkers and you have yourself programming for months and months.
yeah, i'm almost 40 and still love pro wrestling. get over it.
i got a chapbook in the mail from John Sweet today. i recommend every living soul on earth check out a nation of assholes w/guns. it is FUCKING BRILLIANT. here is a link to it on Amazon.com

enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
i did watch team USA defeat Sweden today 8-3 to win the Bronze medal in the World Juniors. to be honest, it's better than coming home empty handed. the boys blew a 2 goal lead but came back strong to score the next 6 goals to put the game to bed. i have the Gold medal game on in the background. Finland and Russia are currently tied at 2 in the third period. i'd love to see some overtime.
(Finland just scored a power play goal with 2 minutes left in the game to go up 3-2)
(Russia just scored with 7 seconds left to tie the game at 3) and people wonder why i love hockey.
the New York Rangers play the Dallas Stars tonight at home. i really have no clue to how the Rangers are going to play. i figure the last game was shit, so maybe they will be good tonight. maybe.
i also need to do a little laundry and get the trash picked up. yet another exciting Tuesday.
i did find out my credit score today. my mother is a little pissed it is better than her score. ha ha.
hopefully this finds you doing some exciting or at the very least, mentally masturbating.

goodbye to the ace of spades
i was scrolling around the internet last night and came across the news. it's not that i was shocked that Lemmy had died. god knows he has looked like death for the last 20 years. it's that i just never thought the fucker would go. one of the nicest humans ever and truly an inspiration to me the day i picked up a bass guitar. i remember the first time as a child i heard Ace of Spades. that was a song that never left my brain. born to lose live to win. thanks for giving all of us outsiders a place at the table.
i picked the NFL game right last night. i did end up getting 5th place in my NFL.com league. and it became official today, i did win both of my CBS Sports fantasy football leagues.
Monday Night Raw was ok last night, at best. i did enjoy The New Day, Kevin Owens beating the shit out of Neville and Dean Ambrose, but too much of the show was just pointless.
Breaking Ground on WWE Network was really good last night. it's amazing how just about everything with NXT is great and everything else could be so much better.
the New York Rangers played a decent 40 minutes last night. for some reason, in the third period they decided to shit the bed. a 1-1 game was suddenly 5-1 in a matter of minutes. i turned it off there as i have seen them lose too much already this season. the final score was 5-3, but the game with Nashville was never that close. they next play at Tampa on Wednesday. thank god i'll be at a basketball game.
here's some this and that for you:
not sure what i'm going to be watching on television tonight. i know i got a good nap in this afternoon watching some soccer. so i'll probably be up late.
that's all for me today. i need to get the trash picked up here and next door (my uncle is home by the way) and figure out what's for dinner.
i hope everyone is enjoying something. whatever that is is your business.

there has been a steady drizzle all day long here. strong enough that my arthritis is at the fuck the world stage. this is the kind of day that i expect i will one day overdose on heroin. the liquor doesn't help nor does the constant badgering of fuckers on Google+ trying to scam me out of money. one of these days i'll slip off into the void and just get off the internet for good. i suppose i should wait for everything to be paid off first.
my uncle is now back home. he came home today. he had another biopsy done yesterday. they can't tell if the cancer is malignant but the dumb fucks told him yesterday to treat it like it was stage 4 cancer. when my mother told me that i said i hope he quickly asked where the fuck my morphine drip is. if it is supposedly stage 4, he might as well get the good shit. it's painful to know that the doctors in this town are simply grasping at straws, hoping they have the right answer without really giving a shit if they do or not. this is the kind of medical system you get when you let the insurance companies run things. i watched it with my stepfather and sadly, it hasn't changed that much since 2002.
i won all 3 of my fantasy football matchups. i believe i was the underdog in all 3 of them. i also got the Monday Night Football game correct. i went 11-3 on picks, which is easily my best showing this season.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. they had to send the shit in a different direction for the next ppv and i think they accomplished their goal.
The Voice was really good last night. three of the performances i thought were excellent:
i am simply amazed at how young some of these performers actually are. it completely reminds me just how bad my singing voice really is.
Gotham was pretty close to perfect last night. yet another fantastic ending that will keep me coming back for more.
let's enjoy some more music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Muppets and The Voice. the World Series starts tonight but thankfully, so does the NBA season. not that i'm going to watch much of either with hockey going on.
i need to get going. i have trash to pick up which should be really fucking fun with my back. plus, i might actually start looking at some poems and decide what i'm sending where in the next few days.
i will be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays. hopefully they will do better than Chelsea is doing currently.
i got a wild hair up my ass for some music today. so the 3 songs you will see below all came from iTunes.
that's all for me. hopefully it will be a less rainy, miserable fucking day tomorrow.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...

and the hits keep on coming...
my uncle was supposed to have gall bladder surgery today. he felt fine the last few days and none of us thought anything about it. and then my mother gets a text this afternoon that he didn't have the surgery, they found cancer when they opened him up. they believe it came from the colon, which, if true, would mean my sister and i now have colon cancer on both sides of our family. good times. my mother is a wreck right now as she certainly didn't move next door just to see her brother die. i'm pretending to hope for the best but i'm not a fucking fool. he's 80 years old. i figure in the next day or so we'll know more about all of this. needless to say, my computer dying has been shifted down the importance list.
i put iTunes on my mother's laptop that i'm using. after 30 minutes of trying to figure out how the fuck to allow this computer to play music i had downloaded to another computer, i figured it out. so, at the very least, i do have some music on here now.
the New York Rangers ended their losing streak with a masterful 4-0 win over San Jose last night. i do like that this team is excellent in the 2nd game of back to backs. plus, it was the first start for their backup goalie they got from Chicago. he's the first Ranger goalie to get a shutout in his debut with the team since 1957. that was a sweet tasting victory beer.
The Voice last night was really good. one battle was fucking amazing.
Gotham was awesome last night. the show just keeps getting better each week. The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny. Life in Pieces had me laughing as well. and Men in Blazers was hilarious.
i won all 3 of my fantasy football matchups, one by just 1 damn point. the Giants QB last night did just enough for me to win. my picks for the week though were 7-7. that's fucking horrible for me.
Monday Night Raw was good last night. you could see they were swinging for the fences bringing back so many past stars for the show. not sure if it worked or not, but i will certainly be watching Hell in a Cell this Sunday.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
i watched that Star Wars trailer at halftime of the football game last night and i was just waiting for someone on ESPN to say the nerds are winning. you could see they all wanted to.
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Scream Queens.
i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime before Manchester United plays in the Champions League.
i now have trash and recyclables to pick up here and next door.
i hope this finds everyone with a healthy sense of humor and a hard drink in their hands.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

and people think i like being the asshole...
i somehow managed to get more than 4 hours of sleep last night. i'm not exactly sure how it happened, but it certainly came in handy. not that i really had much energy today or anything, but it did give me enough to be the cantankerous asshole today. i think i am slowly realizing why we moved next door to my uncle. as his health is failing, my mother is becoming more and more the caretaker of him and his wife. and since my mother's health isn't great, you know who gets to do all the shit work. this is certainly how i expected to live the rest of my life... shaming my uncle into recycling, separating their trash. imagine my joy of getting a plastic bottle out of a bag of used pads. there's got to be about 50 fucking poems right there. these are the days where i used to be able to just go sit outside and not be heard by anyone or seen by anyone. sit on the backside of a barn, smoke something, have a bottle with me, and just let my thoughts go. now, i can be one of these assholes and just sit in my garage watching everyone else in the neighborhood do the same thing. if only my bedroom had a shitter in it...
after doing about 90 minutes of surveys today, i started to go through the poems. i have 28 poems that will be sent out soon or something like that. i set aside some poems for places that i will send to once i hear back on my prior submissions. the old John Wooden line is forever in my head... failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
i still have the trash to pick up around here. i will try to get that done sometime tonight between all the shit i want to do.
the New York Yankees lost last night 4-2. they had their chances but, as usual this season, they pissed them away. i really hope they win at least one game in this series so i don't have to watch the Blue Jays celebrate making the playoffs against the Yankees. Severino pitches tonight. his 2 worst games in his young career have been against Toronto. god i hope that changes tonight.
the New York Rangers won last night 6-3. of course the game was blacked out here so i had to wait until later to see the highlights. they play again tonight against Philadelphia. i will be able to see that one as it is on the NHL Network. they are trying out the 3 on 3 OT tonight. that should be interesting.
i thought The Voice last night was pretty good. one performance really stood out to me:
hopefully the show tonight will be even better.
Gotham last night was brilliant. i can't wait to see how this season turns out. The Big Bang Theory was good. i thought i would laugh a little more than what i did. Life in Pieces was hilarious. that's a new show that i really think will make it.
ok kids, time for intermission:
and now some of this and that:
and now possibly the greatest cover of a song i have ever heard:
with the Colts losing last night, i went 6-10 on my NFL picks for week 2. not good. but, i did win all 3 of my fantasy matchups. hopefully i have found the right combination of players to start a nice long streak. and hopefully my picks are much, MUCH better for week 3.
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Scream Queens, The Muppets and Total Divas. i'll be flipping between hockey and baseball for most of the night.
i got some FREE music at NoiseTrade today. i will put those links down in the music section.
i will be on here early tomorrow as Manchester United plays in the afternoon. of course, i will have to find the game somewhere on the internet to watch it. hopefully it goes much better than their first game in the Capital One Cup last season.
that's all for me kids. i think we're going to have to turn the air conditioner back on here. we've gone a few days with the windows open. the humidity is slowly getting to me.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

it doesn't have to be pretty to be effective...
let me start this out with a little confession. i completely forgot to do my little flashback Friday portion yesterday. and since that is now 2 weeks in a row i have forgot, i'm going to make it the whenever the fuck i remember flashback. so, here are two poems that i really enjoy. "trash" is a poem i wrote while walking the streets of Chicago when i was 22 years old. i was with my sister and her friend. i believe i ended up writing the poem in the margin of a place mat at the House of Blues. and it is one of my most published poems. you can find it by going here:
http://figmentofyourowncontamination.blogspot.com/2010/09/trash-jj-campbell.html
my poem "it could have been something more" basically describes my morning. plus, i know an artist in Sweden that just loves these types of poems. you can find that one by going here:
http://thecamelsaloon.blogspot.com/2013/01/it-could-have-been-something-more.html
i believe whatever my mom had yesterday i had this morning. good times.
the New York Yankees lost 2-1 last night in 10 innings. why Girardi had a rookie pitching to the heart of the Blue Jays order i'll never fucking understand. they play again this afternoon. the division lead is now down to 3 1/2 games.
NJPW was excellent last night. of course anytime you get to watch AJ Styles, Nakamura and Okada wrestle, it is a treat.
Treehouse Masters was good last night. it was interesting to see how far that industry has come in 15 years.
i'd like to thank Directv for helping us figure out what was wrong with our one remote. now that i know what buttons to push, i won't have to make that call again.
enjoy some music kids:
i didn't stay up that late last night, as i wanted to get some sleep. of course, that didn't happen. so here's some funny shit:
now i'm fucking hungry.
i was up and eating breakfast as the Manchester United game was starting this morning. you could tell that United had a bunch of new faces in new places as everyone was cautious as hell to start the match. but thank you to a Kyle Walker own goal (first time in Premier League history the first goal of a season was an own goal) United was up 1-0 at half. and thank you to Sergio Romero for keeping it that way in the second half. all in all, i'll gladly take the 3 points. the squad will get better over time. but i still say they need another striker and another central defender. that being said, i'll go enjoy my victory beer.
i'm supposed to go to an alumni soccer game tonight. hopefully i feel better by then as it would be nice to see some people i know. this is one of the misfortunes of not being on Facebook. of course, i remember that i was only popular in high school because i always had drugs and alcohol around. when that graces my head every now and then, i know it's not a misfortune at all.
on the DVR tonight will be Power and ROH.
i did a little work outside this morning with my mother. we needed to help this young tree that is getting destroyed by all the fucking rain we've had this summer. i'm hoping the stake and some velcro rope made for trees will do the trick. plus, some of the bird feeders needed some fresh food and the weeds needed pulled. all in all, other than listening to the neighbor talk about church, it wasn't that bad outside.
that's all for me today. i hope everyone is doing well. go have a great weekend. call if you need bail money or help burying a body.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...
