so, i was going through my emails this morning and saw one from John at The Rye Whiskey Review. he emailed me to let me know he has nominated my poem "under a cherry moon" for Best of the Net. i believe this is the third time i have been nominated in my 25 years as a published poet. if you are interested in reading that poem again, you can find it here:
the Yankees came from behind last night and defeated Toronto, 6-2. that cuts the magic number down to 2. they have a 2 game lead over Boston and Seattle. Toronto is one game behind those teams. this should be a crazy fucking final weekend for baseball. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Tampa. if they win tonight and Boston or Seattle lose, they are in the playoffs.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was about FMW and Onita last night. i warned my mother before she started watching it, that there would be a ton of blood, barbed wire and crazy shit. i think the warning helped her.
Cake was fucking weird as always last night.
i did see a little of the Bengals last second win over the Jaguars. i sure hope Urban Meyer is making a ton of money. losing doesn't look good on him.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
i did go to the bank today. thankfully, that didn't take forever. but, since it is October now, i guess it is orange barrel season again. looks like everything is under fucking construction again. joy.
i will be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Everton in the morning. i'm really hoping to be in a good mood.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. just remember, it's never too early to start scaring the shit out of people.
thanks to everyone that checked out my latest published poems:
the grocery shopping today went pretty quickly. i'm still in pain from yesterday, so i really wasn't in the mood for shits and giggles today.
last night, i got a message from my doctor's office that i was eligible to make an appointment to get my COVID vaccine. of course, they sent that note at 9 PM and i didn't see it until 1:30 in the morning. and of course, there are no appointments available anywhere near me. so, today i tried on Kroger's site to see if i could get one there. no luck either. of course, my sister texted me this afternoon and said she is getting her shots at a Kroger up by her. i asked her how she did it and she told me she lied about her age. good times.
Young Rock was pretty good last night.
Kenan was pretty funny last night.
Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential was about the Montreal Screwjob last night.
both episodes of Mayans M.C. were great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, AEW, Snowfall and The Masked Singer.
the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Philadelphia. the Rangers will be missing their entire coaching staff because of COVID precautions. so, the AHL coaching staff will be behind the bench tonight. oh boy...
the New York Yankees defeated Toronto today 1-0.
tomorrow is going to be truly a cluster fuck. mom has an appointment with her heart doctor at 10 AM. mind you, she is hardly ever awake before 10 AM. on top of that, Manchester United plays AC Milan tomorrow in the Europa League. the NCAA tournament starts with the First Four. and on top of all that, we're supposed to get 2 inches of fucking rain.
i'm really not sure when i will be on here tomorrow.
i did finally get Peacock TV last night. i figure with the WWE Network going over to them, i might as well bite the bullet. it was funny watching the Dan Patrick Show this morning for the first time in months. and now, i'll get to watch the Premier League games that they don't show on NBC Sports.
i have to go figure out what is for dinner tonight, so that's all for me kids...
until tomorrow...

let's start off today with a little poetry news. i sent out 32 poems this morning. 3 each to Red Eft Review and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Deuce Coupe, Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and Ink Pantry; 6 poems to Record Magazine. i also sent out queries to Rusty Truck and Fourth & Sycamore on poems i sent in the last quarter of 2019 that i haven't heard back on. so, when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
mom's appointment with the doctor went well yesterday. she was a little shocked at how nice the new doctor's offices are. they spent $9 Million on the building, so it should be nice. after the appointment, we went to Waffle House for lunch. i listened to our waitress talk about all the guns she likes to shoot. the joys of living in the sticks.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be WWE Backstage and Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time.
i forgot that Manchester United was playing today. thank god i'm not watching as they are losing to Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of the league cup semi-finals.
the New York Rangers have called up their goalie from the AHL. he's probably the best goalie they have in the organization at the moment. and the guy i do expect to eventually replace The King. so, i'll be pretty interested in the Rangers game tonight at home against Colorado.
Manchester United has scored to make it 3-1 now.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think mom and i both will have pills to get at the grocery store and i think she wants to do a little shopping.
i have the trash to pickup here and next door and if i want to get that done before it gets dark, i basically have to start now.
so, that's all for me today kids.

today was a subtle reminder that as long as i'm going to be alive, i'm going to get fucked in the end. i needed to go to the bank and make a deposit today. i waited in line for 15 minutes to do that. first of the month, i get it. i then went to the hospital to get my blood drawn. there was a line to get to the sign in list. i waited 40 minutes after i got signed in to get called back. they took 5 vials of blood out of me. mind you, i was fasting and it was already after noon. so, i raced back home before my blood sugar would drop and get some breakfast in me. always nice to have breakfast before 1 in the afternoon.
in a little poetry news, i heard back from the folks at The Beatnik Cowboy on my recent poetry submission. they decided to pass on the poems. that kind of pissed me off as i wrote the 3 poems with that zine specifically in mind. oh well. guess i will have to find them a home elsewhere.
Monday Night Raw started off on fire last night, ended as crazy as i can ever remember, but the middle kind of felt like another Monday Night Raw.
The Deuce was excellent last night.
The Voice was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Mayans M.C., Mr. Mercedes, The Jim Jefferies Show, Total Divas and Diego Maradona.
the baseball playoffs start tonight with the National League Wildcard game between the Nationals and Brewers.
i didn't get to watch any of the Manchester United game yesterday. they finished the game with Arsenal 1-1. after mom's doctor's appointment, we went out to eat. after that, she needed to go to the ATM to get some money out. the ATM we normally use was out of service, so i had to drive her all the way to the bank. that's about a 30 minute drive. after we got done with that, i dropped mom off at home and i went to the grocery store to get some gas. i had $1 off that was expiring last night. the line was fucking crazy, but i eventually got to fill up. thank god i did as gas prices went up today by like 50 cents.
i finally got to make the appointment for my EMG test. that will be on Oct. 9th in the morning. joy. the person who told me to get this test told me that her opinion of my x-rays of my neck were that everything is normal. so, i guess arthritis in the neck with a few bone spurs is fucking normal. great.
i have trash to go pick up and i need to ice my back down. i've wanted to do that for the last 4 hours or so.
i hope everyone is doing well. i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon i suppose.
until then boys and girls...

whenever i fall in love with someone, it's always a hard landing it seems. and since my luck seems to be few and far between, long distance relationships are usually the norm. so, i suppose having one with a woman in Italy was simply seeking to punish myself. i'm not quite buying a shitty phone as why there has been no communication from her end in the last 2 days. perhaps i'm naive, but i would think if the phone was bad but you did have access to email, you might send an email to the one you supposedly love and let them know what's going on, etc. of course, i'm notorious for simply asking for too much.
so depression came to set up camp sometime this morning. and when love is involved, oh the depression gets about as fucking deep as possible. now, since i have roughly 40 years of experience with depression and haven't been abused by mind altering drugs from doctors, i can still function to a pretty high degree while just morbidly fucking depressed. i wear it like a long sleeve shirt in the summer. sure, it's uncomfortable, but would you rather be fat and naked?
i put on some music today and just started to write. i have found over the years that writing is more useful than the fucking tears. i wrote 5 poems today. i really like them. i may even dare to call them brilliant. of course, my ego may need a little stroking to go that far. i do plan on doing another round of submissions in the next week or so.
Smackdown was really good last night. it was so much better than Monday Night Raw this week.
205 Live was really good last night as well.
The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.
Fuck That's Delicious was really good last night.
Deadliest Catch was crazy last night, especially the fucking ending.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i did watch a little bit of the MLB All-Star game last night. the AL won in 10 innings, 8-6 over the NL.
i think i'm going to spend a good portion of tonight icing down my back. mom spilled some of what was in the shredder today as she was trying to dump it into the trash. that was not fun to clean up.
remember last week or so when i said mom had grown frustrated and was just going to start having me do the cooking and cleaning, etc. of course, that lasted about a day or so. and i don't know who is at fault more, her for being stubborn or me for allowing it.
i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the post office. my massage chair has an appointment with me here soon.

in hindsight, i was thankful the Yankees loss last night wasn't a dramatic gut punch like 2001 was. i still think about that fucking loss to this day. the Yankees only had 3 hits last night. you have to be perfect to win a game with just 3 hits. the Yankees lost last night 4-0. their inability to do anything on offense while in Houston cost them this series. oh well, they are young enough that hopefully this lights a fire in them to come back better than ever for years to come. next year will be the real test since they won't surprise anyone after this year.
as soon as the game was over, i started to shave. i have a superstition about playoff beards. so, now all my attention will turn to hockey, college basketball and the New Orleans Saints.
ROH was excellent last night.
George Michael: Freedom was very good last night. those songs certainly took me back to my childhood.
Austin City Limits was great last night. i don't think the Zac Brown Band gets enough credit for just how good of a band they really are.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Ray Donovan, The Deuce, Vice Principals and Curb Your Enthusiasm. i'll be watching WWE TLC most of the evening on WWE Network.
the New Orleans Saints play today at Green Bay. the Saints are favored in the game, so i am hoping they actually do win and everyone else playing in the division loses.
i'll be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her follow up appointment for her hip.
i hope everyone had a better Saturday than i did. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

the New York Rangers came from behind last night and defeated Colorado 4-2. it was the 400th win of Henrik Lundqvist's amazing career. he is the fastest EVER to 400 wins in NHL history. i really, REALLY hope that he is part of a Stanley Cup team with the Rangers before his career is over. and i really wouldn't mind if it happened this season. congrats to The King.
ROH was excellent last night.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night. i can just imagine how furious Trump got when he saw a black woman pretending to be him. fucking classic. one of the best episodes in a long time.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope, Girls, Last Week Tonight and Homeland.
i will probably spend most of the night watching The Grammy Awards.
after that is over is when i have the tough decision. do i start to watch the Sunday night shows on the DVR or do i go over to WWE Network and watch the Elimination Chamber ppv that will most likely be over by then? i'll probably do both knowing my stubborn ass. my good friend Sam Roberts will be on the pre-show for Elimination Chamber, so i definitely know i will check that out.
all in all, just a fucking clusterfuck waiting to happen.
i went to the grocery store after a nap yesterday. i wanted to get there before the pharmacy closed as i had a ton of prescriptions to pick up. i didn't have one damn coughing fit until i was getting the last items on the list. thankfully, it didn't last forever. as i was taking the full grocery cart out to the car, this beautiful young woman smiled at me and said hi. i said hello. i then quickly reminded myself that she looked around 17. i don't want to go to jail with a cough.
another tip for what not to wear while really sick... white shorts.
i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

i like to think of myself as a disciplined alcoholic. but, there are sometimes where you have to give into the demon to control it. it's that delicate balance that i live with now. all the time knowing that my brilliance with any art i do comes in the moments where there is no balance. so, i suppose if there ever is any struggle, it's with the temptation to never go back. good times.
NXT TakeOver: Toronto last night was great. the tag team match between The Revival and #DIY was fucking spectacular. i was so happy for Gargano and Ciampa last night. and i hope The Revival gets the call to go to either Raw or Smackdown, they deserve it. i was a little stunned that Samoa Joe defeated Nakamura, but i guess that sets up another match between them. all in all, a great show that will probably be better than Survivor Series tonight. hopefully, i'm wrong.
Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night. i enjoyed the whole show. two weeks in a row, that has to be a fucking record.
Austin City Limits was really good last night.
ROH was good last night. i do love me a heel Colt Cabana. add that to a feud with Dalton Castle. just take my money now.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Divorce, Insecure, Shameless and The Affair.
i'll be watching Survivor Series on WWE Network for most of the evening. it's the 30th anniversary, so i'm hoping for a great show and not the clusterfuck it appears to be on paper.
the New York Rangers play Florida tonight at home. hopefully the boys get back on the winning track.
it was good to see that the high school i went to has made its 7th straight final four in high school football.
so i guess we sort of just went from a late summer to fucking winter now. the only good thing about the winter is it is a fashion show for fat people.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday night. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

so after watching The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution last night, i passed my mother in the hallway, who was watching the same program. the first thing she said to me is that sometimes, it's so damn embarrassing to be white. i told her the first thing i thought after watching the documentary was i wondered what this world would be like if J. Edgar Hoover next existed in the first place. i highly recommend that every soul on earth watches this documentary. what i would really love to see is it become a teaching tool in every school in this country. it's appalling to think how much we don't teach people because the powers that be are either embarrassed or feel guilty because of the past. no wonder this fucking country repeats so many damn mistakes.
The Muppets were pretty funny last night. Total Divas was pretty damn funny as well.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i will also be watching NXT on WWE Network at some point tonight.
up first tonight will be the Dayton Flyers playing at Saint Joe's. Dayton hasn't won there since 2000. but a victory tonight would give Dayton the inside track to the regular season A10 title. a loss would put three teams in first place; Dayton, Saint Joe's and VCU. hopefully the Flyers can keep the winning going.
right after that i'll be flipping over to watch the New York Rangers take on Chicago at MSG. hopefully the Rangers can keep winning at home. i believe the captain will be back tonight, so that should help their defense.
hopefully i am enjoying a few victory beers tonight.
i had a little conversation with Janne Karlsson yesterday and the genius sent me a little artwork today from it.
i did a little poetry work today and have some submissions ready to go on Friday.
the weather is supposed to start getting warmer here. the driveway was mostly melted when i went to get the trash cans today. it's supposed to be in the 50's by the weekend. that basically means i'll be feeding the birds while standing in mud. good times.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Europa League. i'm not expecting much after the Wayne Rooney injury news today. i'm not sure if this season could get any worse.
i hope this finds everyone drunk and realizing that a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil.

i've promised myself i won't write any i'm alone again on Valentine's Day poems this year. thankfully, the weather has turned to shit, so i can always write about that.
i'm running on not much sleep at the moment and i'm truly dreading the -20 with the windchill temps that are coming this way.
the hockey game last night in Columbus was great. it's always fun to watch a couple of ex-New York Rangers find a way to beat the fucking Philadelphia Flyers. the Flyers blew a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period to lose 4-3 in OT. that loss helped me flip the stats in my fantasy hockey this week. all in all, a pretty good evening.
mom and i went out to Waffle House when we got back into town and it might have been the worst service i have EVER received at any restaurant in my life. we sat for 20 minutes before we even got asked what we wanted to drink. and then the food i ordered was almost cooked completely. almost. needless to say, i'll probably have a poem about that experience written soon.
i didn't watch Treehouse Masters or NJPW last night. i tried to get some sleep. i might have got about 4 hours.
when i got up this morning i remembered i didn't check my email last night. thankfully i had less than 100 emails to get through this morning. i fed the cats and told them i'll be on dead cat detail tomorrow morning as i'm sure one of them dumb fucks will freeze to death overnight. the snow isn't bad. the wind is ferocious. it's already blown the barn doors open and knocked some of the wood off of one of the barns. good times. i'll be sleeping by a heater tonight that's for sure.
the Dayton Flyers somehow beat St. Bonaventure today 75-61 with basically 6 1/2 players. one player got injured (hopefully he's ok and just missed the second half as a precaution) and another fouled out before the end of the game. i was waiting for Dayton's coach to just play with 4 guys Hoosiers style. but, i'll certainly enjoy the victory beer tonight. here are some highlights:
most of the really bad weather happened while we were inside at the game. the drive home wasn't too bad. of course, getting gas was a bone chilling experience.
tonight, i'll be bouncing between some NBA All-Star shit (3 point contest, slam dunk, etc) and the New York Rangers game at Arizona. after that, i'll be watching ROH tonight and hopefully staying warm.
i'll be back on here early tomorrow, that is if we still have power or if Frontier Communications has managed to keep the internet up and running. it went out on me this morning as i was trying to watch some YouTube videos. that's always fun.
hopefully your weather is a hell of a lot warmer than mine is. i do hope you are having a great weekend. if not, pour yourself something stronger. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

i'm starting to write this at 9:45 AM on a Sunday morning. no big deal most of you might think, but not to this fucker who didn't go to sleep until 5 AM. good times.
got an offer to cut off my goatee last night for a picture of this black woman's ass. it was a very tempting offer, but i said no. i believe it was one of those that my imagination is more powerful and i don't want a picture to ruin it. besides, i do plan on seeing her ass sometime before i die.
i wrote 6 poems last night. typed them up last night as well. i believe i may have a few winners in that batch. i also came up with a few different logos for this blog. i'll try sometime in the next week or so to get some pictures of them and post them here to see what all 2 or 3 of you who read this think.
while i was writing those poems last night, it dawned on me that this was the weekend of my 20 year high school reunion. of course, i suppose i was not supposed to know that info, as i was never invited to the festivities. i doubt i missed anything.
the Yankees won yesterday, 7-1. some great pitching, timely hitting, and taking advantage of some mistakes. hopefully that is how they play the entire second half. they go for the sweep today.
ROH was good last night. the tag team of War Machine is one to keep your eyes on. those guys will be stars before too long.
hopefully i will get a nap sometime today as i have a crazy night of television ahead for me. Big Brother, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex, Last Week Tonight, and finally, The Strain. i have no idea how long i'll be up to catch all of them as a few overlap with each other. i do think i have mom convinced that whenever the fuck we do move, we're getting a DVR.
speaking of mom, she hit her head last night while getting into her SUV. i fear she may have another concussion as she has been nauseous and complaining of a headache. doesn't help that her left ear is still bothering her, even after the surgery. i'm doing my best to keep relatively quiet and stay out of her way.
the dense fog has finally lifted from this morning. i need to get my ass in gear as i have plenty of shit to do this morning. i imagine the animals would like some food and i need to pickup the trash. might surprise my mother with some breakfast, although i have no fucking clue what she would like to eat.
and now, the final update on the potential vacation. it has now become a stay-cation, as mom has decided she's going to use that week off to clean the house and get rid of some shit so we don't have to do it while trying to move. so, i know what i'll be doing the first week of August. looks like the poor will be wearing some new clothes come this fall.
enough of my rambling. i do hope everyone is having a great weekend.
be well. be creative. be a good drinker and a better lover. be sure she's not a cop first.

and a big thank you to Janne Karlsson for the magic he can do with the random shit i spew in this blog
i did watch both basketball games last night in the Final Four. i didn't see the UConn win coming at all. i did see the Kentucky win coming though. thankfully. i think Kentucky is going to win it all. UConn is too good of a story to win it. Kentucky is what is absolutely wrong with college basketball, which is why i see them winning. it gives assholes something to bitch about for months to come.
the last game got over in time for Saturday Night Live. but, to be honest, i didn't really give a shit about SNL as soon as Austin City Limits started on PBS. i never pass up any chance to see Nine Inch Nails perform. that was great as was the few bits i saw on Saturday Night Live.
the New York Rangers lost last night, 3-2. part running into a goalie standing on his head and part shitty officiating. the NHL has a habit of swallowing the whistle when it gets close to playoff time. which helps the dirty fuckers around the league. yes, i'm talking to you Chris Neil. i really can't wait for the day when you're a bloody mess laying on the ice wondering what week it is. karma is one nasty bastard. just remember that.
the New York Yankees won today, 6-4. CC pitched good enough and the bats did just enough, like hitting their first HR of the season. i'm still getting used to not having the hammer of god closing these games out. the high anxiety will either make the victory beer sweeter or i'm going to spend more time on the toilet.
tonight is jam packed for me. the Sunday night shows; Shameless, House of Lies, Silicon Valley, and Veep will all have to be squeezed in after i get done watching WrestleMania 30. hard to believe i've seen all of them. i am really looking forward to this one. if Daniel Bryan isn't the big winner after this ppv, it may be the first time in my life where i will seriously consider giving up this shit. and i'm not really sure what's going to happen as i know the McMahon family, including HHH, loves to just fuck with the audience as much as possible.
so, it's going to be a late one tonight. thank god i rarely sleep anymore. it's mostly cat naps more than anything. amazing the great sleep you can get watching European soccer with two teams you couldn't give a shit about.
so tomorrow's blog, if i make it through everything tonight, will be a lengthy fucker. also, the Yankees have their home opener. so, toss that on to the fire as well.
hope everyone is doing well. enjoy what is left of your weekend. and i'll be on here late afternoon with more of my filth.
peace and chicken grease fuckers....
