it is hot and humid today. of course, it is late July in Ohio... it is supposed to be hot and humid.
i slept like shit last night. DraftKings and I got into it. i thought i had won a bet on the USWNT that would have won me over $36 on bet of .66 cents. well, after they paid, they must have found some other stats that showed i was wrong, so they took the money away. i sent them a complaint, wondering why the official stats show that i have a win for the number of corners and somehow, their stats have something else. they would never answer any of my questions. it kind of reminded me of what a shitty parent does. it is what it is because i said so. nothing is based in fact or truth. so, as i told my mother, this is why the house always wins. it is really easy to do when you simply change the fucking rules as you go along. this will be one of those things i will be pissy about for a long damn time.
the USWNT defeated Germany yesterday, 4-1.
the Yankees won last night at Boston, 8-2. they start a series tonight at the Phillies.
Big Brother was good last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

mom just had me cancel her physical therapy appointment today. she's feeling dizzy, which most likely means the humidity got to her and her Meniere's Disease is in overdrive. joy.
i'll probably watch some of the Olympics today and hopefully, catch up on some sleep.
i hope everyone had a great weekend...

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
so, mom got a call yesterday that i don't think either one of us were expecting. my cousin's husband died yesterday morning. now, he wasn't in the greatest health to begin with, but dying in your early 60's isn't exactly the norm anymore. fuck, i can remember being in their wedding back in the 80's. those memories coming back yesterday was a bit of a mind fuck. but, i look at it like this... he's no longer in pain and the house isn't in his name. at least my cousin won't have to go through that nightmare. and, he chose cremation, so there isn't the need to spend a ton of money on a funeral. the absolutely shitty thing was yesterday was the birthday of their daughter. i can't imagine her pain and loss right now.
so, the friend i was hoping to meet up with yesterday didn't text me back until after 4 PM. i'm not sure what she had going on as she never texted me back after the initial text. i'm never sure why people will say yes to doing something and then never contact the person when something comes up, etc. i mean, i'm not a fucking asshole 100% of the time. i do understand that life gets in the fucking way sometimes. but when someone claims they want to be with you and the last two attempts have gone haywire and sideways, i can't help but wonder, what the fuck is really going on. and with my lack of self esteem, it is always going to come back to what is wrong with me. i will ask the peanut gallery to pipe down, that was rhetorical.
the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home against Chicago, 24-17.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday and last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
Big Brother was good last night. the final 3 are Jag, Matt and Bowie Jane.
Power Book IV: Force was really good last night. the season finale is next week.

so, i sold some baseball cards today. that is such a rarity anymore, i figured i better take advantage of it. so, i knew i needed to go to the post office and bank. figured, i might as well go to Meijer as well. the post office went well, as did the bank. i didn't find everything i was looking for in Meijer, but i did find a few things. and then on the ride home, i forgot i needed to go to Rite Aid to get my prescriptions. so, i dropped off everything at the house and went to Rite Aid. the pills were supposed to be ready at 11 AM so i figured i would be in and out. silly me. neither of them were ready so i waited for damn near a hour for them to finish them. just what i needed with my blood pressure now rising. joy.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
Industry was really good last night. the season finale is next week.
the season finale of Don't Forget the Lyrics was good last night.
i did watch some of the game last night between Denver and Seattle. i'm not sure why Denver would settle for a long field goal when they paid all that money to Russell Wilson.

so, my mother decided to sleep all of yesterday. i mean like over 12 fucking hours in bed, easily. so, i never did get her laundry done or help her take a shower, etc. i have had to do that today, along with all the other shit i had planned for today. and of course, the poems i wanted to record to put out some more SoundCloud recordings had to get pushed back to whenever the fuck i have a spare 30 minutes anytime soon. i told her yesterday i feel like her 24 hour concierge. she didn't like that comment. i told her then, don't ask me to get you water at 3:30 in the morning again then. she then understood what i was talking about.
the Yankees won yesterday at Baltimore, 6-0. they are now 66-31 on the season. they start a series at the Mets tomorrow night.

i've been having some weird dreams lately. mostly about death, depravity, rainbows and laughter. i'm not sure if they are coming from being sleep deprived or they are induced from the constant pain i am in. not that it really matters to me, it is all content for the poems anymore.
the Yankees whipped Boston last night, 12-5. hopefully, they will beat them again tonight.
El Trafico never disappoints. LAFC 3 LA Galaxy 2.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was really good last night.
the season finale of Pause with Sam Jay was great last night.
i did watch most of the NHL Draft. i liked what the Rangers did for the most part. trading their backup goalie to Colorado for 3 draft picks was a surprise. not that they traded him, but that they got that much back in return. they drafted a few centers, which the organization desperately needs. all in all, not bad.
i guess mom called in some more pills to Kroger. so, now i don't have to go until tomorrow afternoon.

i do plan on watching some MLS games today. other than that, maybe just catching up on some sleep or writing.
mom wanted Pizza Hut last night for some fucking reason. she wanted to try that Edge pizza. so, against my best judgement, i got it. stupid me. first off, Pizza Hut can't do thin crust worth a shit. the crust was awful. the stuff on top of the crust was fine. what truly pissed me off last night was the order took over 60 minutes to get here. now, if i would have been told that from the beginning, no problem. but, when i'm told 25 to 35 minutes and it takes twice as long, now i'm pissy. and since Pizza Hut acted like it was no big deal. looks like i won't be ordering from there anytime soon.
i think the rain has finally moved on. that should tame my arthritis for at least a few days.
i did open the baseball cards i got yesterday at Big Lots. the 4 packs of 2022 Topps Heritage i opened weren't good at all. i got a few rookies and one high number card. other than that, nothing special at all.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

anymore, when it rains at night, my pain gets to the point where my body just shuts down. sometime between before dinner and 8 PM last night, the rain was just enough to get my arthritis raging and my body just sort of tapped out. good times. then, add in some thunder and lightning and a little alcohol, you have a coma coming soon. i know one of these days i'll drink enough that i won't wake back up. raise a glass to having something to look forward to.

the Yankees came from behind last night and defeated Toronto, 6-2. that cuts the magic number down to 2. they have a 2 game lead over Boston and Seattle. Toronto is one game behind those teams. this should be a crazy fucking final weekend for baseball. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Tampa. if they win tonight and Boston or Seattle lose, they are in the playoffs.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
What We Do in the Shadows was hilarious last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was about FMW and Onita last night. i warned my mother before she started watching it, that there would be a ton of blood, barbed wire and crazy shit. i think the warning helped her.
Cake was fucking weird as always last night.
i did see a little of the Bengals last second win over the Jaguars. i sure hope Urban Meyer is making a ton of money. losing doesn't look good on him.

i will be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Everton in the morning. i'm really hoping to be in a good mood.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. just remember, it's never too early to start scaring the shit out of people.
thanks to everyone that checked out my latest published poems:
so, i gave myself an extra 30 minutes of sleep this morning. that gave me almost 4 hours for the night. good times.
Ohio State defeated Tulsa yesterday, 41-20. i wish the score actually resembled how much Ohio State struggled in the game. the defense still fucking sucks, but their freshman running back saved their asses yesterday. he had the third most rushing yards of any Ohio State player ever. and honestly, he probably could have had more.
the Yankees shit the bed yesterday and lost to Cleveland, 11-3. the only consistent thing about the Yankees this season has been just how fucking inconsistent they truly are. i hope they win today, i won't be watching.
ROH was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Scenes From a Marriage, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Heels, Billions and American Rust.
Manchester United plays at West Ham in a little bit. i am really hoping they come out on fire this morning after the debacle in the Champions League.
the New Orleans Saints play today at Carolina. they are down 8 coaches because of COVID (all likely from playing in that cesspool of Florida last week), so the game should be interesting to say the least. hopefully, they will be healthy enough to get a win today.
i'm sure i will watch some other games today as well.

the eye doctor even seemed a bit surprised that my vision was actually a little better this year. he was very pleased that both of my eyes are in good shape and pretty much look the same as they did 5 years ago. hopefully, that stays that way, at least for a few more years.
the Golden Globes last night were good, if you could just forget the first hour or so.
the Dayton Flyers took Richmond behind the barn yesterday and beat the shit out of them. Dayton won 72-48. that's an excellent way to start the A10 season.
the New York Rangers continued their awful play yesterday, losing 5-0 to Arizona. i'm starting to wonder if the Lose for Hughes campaign is in full effect.
i did watch a good portion of both NFL playoff games yesterday. so the next round will be the Colts vs. Chiefs, Cowboys vs. Rams, Chargers vs. Patriots and Eagles vs. Saints. hopefully, the Saints will defeat the Eagles, just like in the regular season.
Ray Donovan was pretty good last night. the season finale next week looks like it will be crazy.

got up this morning and felt like hell. it was raining on and off all night. my right ankle felt like it was broken in about 50 places. but, the past few weeks have really sharpened my pain tolerance. i'm not exactly sure how i'm walking, but i am. after mom and i went to McDonald's for breakfast (probably not the best choice) we went to the farm. i spent almost 18 years out there, trying to build a habitat good for animals, plants, insects, humans, etc. while driving up the lane, the fuckers that bought the farm in the auction (but technically don't own it yet) have taken it upon themselves to make the farm look the way they want it to. all the fencing is gone. all the cats are gone. the trees that were my cousin's father's trees from California are gone. there's these huge piles of wood and trash all over the place. i told mom it's a damn good thing i took the gasoline a few weeks ago or there would already be a few bonfires going on the farm. i put air in the tires of my truck. i'm hoping it goes for something north of $50 in the upcoming auction. we had to break down a few shelving units that we want to use in the garage of the new house. after a few hours, it was more or less time to go. if i don't have to be at the upcoming auction (mom will be out of town), today is probably the last day i will be at the farm. it was sad to see all those damn trees knocked down. the pastures were mowed, which is the first time they were touched in a decade. i kept them high so animals could hunt in them or hide in them while being hunted. i have no clue what the new owners are going to do with the place. i'm pretty sure i won't like it regardless. most of this afternoon i've been thinking of what happened to the cats. my gut tells me they are dead. and not like they were out and about and got caught my another animal dead. like they were caught and killed and dumped somewhere. if i had any guilt in my body, this would be where it would be killing me. but i don't. part of the asshole gene i suppose. just a few more weeks and all of this will be over.
i did watch most of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions last night. it was cool to see Joan Jett play. hard to believe Green Day has been around that long. plus, i loved the induction of Stevie Ray Vaughn. between him and Lou Reed, the tears of nostalgia were flowing last night.
the Stanley Cup Final is set. Chicago vs. Tampa Bay. sadly, my dream final has always been Chicago vs. New York Rangers. what could have been.
ROH last night was so damn good i watched it again this afternoon. the buildup between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe has been excellent. i can't wait to see that match.
the weather has cooled down a bit today. of course, it took a day or two of rain to have that happen.
time for a music break:
the New York Yankees got some great relief pitching last night and a few clutch hits to win 5-3. they go for the split this afternoon.
after the game, i'll probably go right to watching the WWE Network. i am really looking forward to the Elimination Chamber matches tonight. hopefully, Kevin Owens will destroy John Cena. plus, the two chamber matches for the titles tonight should be amazing. hopefully i'll have plenty of videos to share tomorrow.
so on the DVR tonight will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight. i figure i'll watch a few after the wrestling and then catch up with the rest either Monday morning or afternoon.
while going through some shit last night, mom came across a thank you note sent to both of us back in 1981. it came from one of the hostages that was in the Iran hostage crisis back in 1979/1980. as you might imagine, i wasn't the normal 4 or 5 year old. being able to read at 2, i was fully aware of current events by the age of 4. hell, by 8 i was reading at a college level. not sure where i'm going to keep this letter, but it will find a place somewhere in this house.
that's all for me today. i hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully the sun is out where you are.

i came down the stairs this morning and it was 16 degrees outside. before getting on the computer, i did the dishes. figured it was best to get some hot water going through these old pipes. that's definitely one of things i won't miss when we move from here.
now, back to where we left off...
the USA lost to Colombia yesterday 2-1. it was yet another game where they gave up a goal late. as much as i want them to be able to compete with the big boys of the soccer world, you have to be able to take advantage of your chances to do so. i would love to see how the complete team would do against Colombia, although i'm fooling myself into thinking it would be different.
i almost got hit 3 different times yesterday on my way to and from the bank. i just love elderly drivers.
mom did go to the basketball game with me last night. she was struggling but made it through. sadly, she's realized that her hearing is mostly gone in her left ear. that has heightened her sense of smell and just her luck, the guy next to her had mustard with his pretzel. i'm amazed she didn't puke on me. as for the game, Dayton won 76-52. they were lead in scoring by a freshman out of Detroit, Darrell Davis. that kid has the second coming of Brian Roberts (currently playing with the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA) written all over him. they next play down in Puerto Rico over Thanksgiving. highlights from the game are below:
we went to Waffle House after the game. mom believes her pills made her food taste like shit. i reminded her it was Waffle House. we got back home in time to watch Sonic Highways on HBO. another great episode.
today is yet another busy sports day. Ohio State plays at noon on the road in Minnesota. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer this afternoon with the chili i made this morning. there are a few other college football games i'm looking forward to today. later tonight, the New York Rangers play in Pittsburgh.
also tonight, i do believe Saturday Night Live is new as is ROH. so, yet another late night.
mom is out driving, running errands right now. she felt good enough to try to drive alone again. i've waited by the phone, just in case. hopefully, everything goes well.
i need to get going. i have cats to feed and some other shit i'd like to get done before Ohio State comes on.
hope everyone has a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

mom just called. she's made it to the hairdresser. at least that's one worry i can't wipe away so far today...
the weather can't seem to make a decision today. it's been sunny, then stormy, then sunny again. all the while, it hasn't made it to 80 degrees. fucking bizarre for the end of July.
i took a really long shower this afternoon. i was trying to work out some pain in my back and just take a good 20 minutes to reflect on my shitty life and what to do next. the back pain has subsided. the shitty life? not so much.
i did get a somewhat hopeful email from my artist friend in Sweden. that brightened my day a bit.
Manchester United won last night on penalty kicks, 5-3. they outplayed Inter Milan for most of the game. i was hoping they would have scored in regulation, but that didn't happen. they next play Real Madrid on Saturday up at The Big House. there is supposed to be more than 100,000 there to see it. i was hoping to be one of those people, but it's hard to get tickets with no money and when they sell out in 30 seconds.
the Yankees won a fucking crazy game last night, 12-11. when i first started watching, they were losing 4-1. that soon became a 10-4 lead. then, the tired relievers came in. 10-4 quickly becomes 10-8. the Yankees get 2 back to make 12-8. the closer had a three run lead in the bottom of the ninth and needed every bit of that lead. when the Rangers best player flied out with the bases loaded and only trailing by 1 run, i realized why my family has a history of ulcers. fucking christ. that victory beer should have been a fifth of something stronger than strong.
Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night. Tyrant was really good last night. a nice little twist at the end that should make for an interesting episode next week.
tonight is another busy night on the television. the Yankees play in Texas, the day before the trade deadline. Big Brother has a new episode. this should be a fun one. SoundClash is also new tonight. i think these bands tonight will be a better mix. Wilfred should be another great episode. and finally, The Bridge is a show that i absolutely refuse to miss.
and then after all that, i'm planning to get on vice.com and watch the new episode of The Jim Norton Show.
talked to my friend in California today. she sounds so much better than she did on the weekend. at least it sounds like she is recovering well from her major concussion.
if i have the energy tonight, i'm hoping to have another writing session. i want to put on some techno music from the 90's on and see what i come up with. ah, the drug days of my 20's.
that's all for today kids. hope this finds everyone well. until we meet again...

i was up a little later than normal last night. that's the problem with being a sports fan and living in the eastern time zone. you find yourself up at 2 in the morning after watching sports on the west coast. at least the game was a good one.
the Yankees won last night, 4-3. seemed like every time i turned back to the game, the Yankees made another error. glad they won though. i needed a victory beer. they play again this afternoon.
mom and i got to talking about the possible vacation and whatnot, and the conversation shifted to what do we do with the cats if we go away for a week? that ringed in my head as, well, i'd love to take you with me but someone has to feed the cats, get the mail, paper, etc... so, i've got the gut feeling that if we do go away, it will be a series of day trips and nothing more. i can't wait until we move and get rid of these little fuckers.
there's a thick fog rolling in right now. just how i want to spend my Saturday.
as i was avoiding the Yankees game last night, i was flipping between the Food Network and various shows on Hitler. welcome to my usual Friday night. can't imagine why i'm still single.
i did see that Manchester United has made it to the USA. i would love to see them on this tour. sadly, i'd have to give up just about every penny i have to see them. hopefully, i'll be able to find the games on television or YouTube.
since the baseball will be over before the evening comes, i'm really hoping to get some artistic shit done today. i need to bust out another logo idea and i'd like to get a few poems down on the page. hopefully i get all that done before a new episode of ROH comes on late tonight.
that's all for me. everyone go back to your cartoons. until i grace you with my presence once again...
be well. be creative. be a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. and then remind people you cause cancer.
peace and chicken grease...

i've had this damn Lucinda Williams song stuck in my head for months it seemed like. the problem was, i always thought the song was done by Heartless Bastards. so yesterday, i finally figured this mystery out and got the song on iTunes. not sure why yesterday was the first day i decided to use the internet to figure out this question in my head, but oh well.
mom had a doctor's appointment this morning. she didn't want me to go along, so i didn't. she's been having problems remembering shit, and given the history of dementia and alzheimer's with her parents, i believe both of us want to catch anything as soon as possible. of course, the beauty is it could be a number of other things as well. but, i'm a worse case scenario type of guy. so, i'll have my mind elsewhere while she's waiting on the results of the blood tests and the appointment for a neurological exam. good times.
the Yankees were leading last night 3-0 when the news of the partial ligament tear for Tanaka came down. and just like that, they were trailing 9-3 and the game was over. it felt like the season was as well. that makes 80% of the starting rotation is now on the disabled list. hard to win games let alone contend in the division with those kind of injuries. they play tonight in Baltimore, who happens to be in first place in the division. i'm sure they have the hammer out to put the nails in the coffin tonight. i'd like to see the team show some fight, but even that is probably not enough. it's going to be a long rest of the season.
i did watch Big Brother last night. i'm very happy that Zach stayed in the house. the new HOHs aren't going after him. both of them want to get rid of Devin this week. hopefully, that will happen.
other than baseball tonight, not sure what i'm going to watch. mom got me a charcoal art set, so i guess i might play around with that a little. i'm trying to come up with logos for this blog, for my book, etc., for t-shirts, mugs, mousepads, anything i could possibly sell. i need to start making some money. especially given the fact that the farm is going to go away soon and who knows if i'm going to live with my mother still or not. trust me, i'm not exactly hoping i get to live in my 1992 Ford Ranger.
well, after the last few days, i know that all the cats are alive. Boomer made it back up from the wood lot. and amazingly, my cat Alfred had two kittens recently. saw her nursing them today. so, that makes it that Batman, Robin, and Alfred all got pregnant. where is a damn villain when you need one?
that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone has a great weekend.
be well. be creative. be loud. be the prince of mischief. be the first one to order a round with a stranger's credit card.
