and i'm not talking about the NHL trade deadline with the subject heading, more on that later. no, i'm talking about my trip to Kroger today. they texted me yesterday to tell me my Jardiance was ready to pick up at $242.50. the last two times i got it, it was $45. so, i did my due diligence and tried to find a way to get it cheaper. so, i thought i found something going through GoodRx, and filled out the form and got a card, etc. so, i showed that at the pharmacy today and the lady told me they weren't accepting this, you're not in the system. this is the exact fucking reason why i wanted Obama when he changed the healthcare in this country to cut out the fucking insurance companies completely. there is no fucking reason on earth i should pay $242.50 for a medicine that i paid $45 for a month ago. what is the fucking point of having insurance. as i told my mother when i got home, all this truly is is further proof of why it is more cost effective to die than live. they wonder why there are so many fucking suicides... so, i really hope my bets hit tonight as i need the fucking money now. not how i was hoping any of this was going to go.
now, for the trade deadline. i was hoping the Rangers might make a stunner today, but wasn't expecting one. they did make a trade last night after i got the blog done. as for today, they made a minor trade with Buffalo. there was some big trades today, mostly involving Boston, Dallas, Florida, etc.
now comes the sprint to the playoffs.
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage was pretty good last night.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at VCU. if Dayton wins, they will get a double bye in the A10 tournament and be the 3 seed. if they lose, who knows. but, if they lose, i'm hoping they do so by less than 9 points, if you know what i mean.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before the New York Rangers play in the afternoon.
i have no clue what i am making for dinner tonight.
i do know, i need to vacuum the house, so i'll be doing that after i get this done.
i didn't get any writing done last night. apparently, my lack of sleep over the last 35 years or so is catching up with me. my arthritis was raging last night and apparently, my massage chair was too good for me to get up from. that being said, i do have at least one poem swimming in my head that i need to get down on paper soon.
until tomorrow kids...
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

we had storms roll through here last night. the wind was really bad. i brought the recyclables in so i wouldn't spend the morning picking them up everywhere. i took them back out at 7 this morning. i found it a little interesting that no one else had and still hasn't put anything back out. part of me wonders if the fuckers picked up the shit during the storm last night or people just decided fuck it, wait until Thursday.
the New Orleans Saints lost at home yesterday to the Raiders, 25-10. i'm really hoping the Saints just blow everything up after this season and start over.

The Agency was very good last night.
Dexter Original Sin was really good last night.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:

first off, i hope 2024 is the best year for everyone, even my fucking enemies. and i mean that, i am hoping to build on what i was able to accomplish in 2023. and i believe a big part of that is to continue to be as positive as i possibly can be about most things. now, i do know i am too much of an asshole and realist to be 100% positive all the time. but, as the muse has pointed out from time to time, i have made some changes in my life that are very positive. and the biggest one was cutting out nearly all the negative people in my life. last year was the first year that it truly felt like that was working for me. and i certainly want to build upon that in 2024.
the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at Tampa Bay, 23-13. they somehow still have a chance to make the playoffs. they finish up the season at home against the Falcons on Sunday.

the New York Yankees won yesterday, 3-1 over the Angels. the Yankees start a series with Houston this afternoon.

last night could have been one of those nights where you look back with such joy as a sports fan, that you remember it forever fondly. instead, Joe Girardi fucked any chance of that happening with one of the more baffling managerial decisions i have seen in a long time.
the New York Yankees were winning 8-3 last night and for some fucking reason, Joe decided to take CC out of the game in the 6th. if he would have been bringing in a reliever that wasn't used in the Twins game, i could understand it. instead, he brought in Chad Green. no biggie there. but, when there was guy from the Indians that the umpire said was hit by a pitch when he clearly wasn't, Joe didn't bother to have the play reviewed. his catcher, Gary Sanchez, was screaming that it didn't hit him. nope, Joe's dumb ass was waiting for a visual clue from his staff to tell him to review it. it never dawned on him that you might want to go ahead and review the damn thing anyway since the bases would be loaded and the Indians best hitter would be coming up. and, oh by the way, it would have been the third out of the inning as the ball actually hit the bat and Sanchez caught it for the third strike. so, as you might imagine, the next batter hit a fucking grand slam and the Indians comeback was on. 8-7 soon turned to 8-8 and then came extra innings. the Yankees lost 9-8 in 13 innings to go down 2-0 in the best of 5 series. what pissed me off more than anything was Joe Girardi not taking any fucking responsibility for the review mishap. fucking excuses rather than yeah, i fucked that up. it's time for the Yankees to move on from him now. as is RIGHT NOW. let fucking Tony Pena manage Game 3 and get it over with. it's not like they have a fucking chance anyway. the Yankees final game of the season will be on Sunday night (probably). i'll be watching wrestling, so thankfully i'll miss most of it.
thank god the US Men's National Team didn't shit on my heart last night like the Yankees did. they certainly came out prepared and on a fucking mission. Panama had only given up 5 goals for the entire HEX. the USA scored 4 on them last night in a beautiful and much needed 4-0 victory. this means all the USA needs to advance to the World Cup will be a win or draw at Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday.
VICE was very interesting last night.
NJPW was very good last night.
Room 104 was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.
Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was great last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

Ohio State takes on Maryland this afternoon at home. hopefully they will get another victory today.
the New York Rangers play at Toronto this evening. i'm really dreading this game tonight. the Rangers defense will have to be much better as i know the forwards on the Maple Leafs are legit. and hopefully The King is much better tonight as well.
other than that, i know i have dishes to do, i probably should at least think of doing my laundry and given my imagination, i'll probably have a few poems to write as well.

that's one of my favorite terms, especially when watching shitty teams. and as a guy who dabbled in team sports, i know exactly what fake hustle is. busting your ass when you're losing big and the other team is coasting... slapping the floor on defense, grunting for the sake of supposed effort, etc, etc. watching the New York Yankees last night, fake hustle showed up in the 9th inning.
i made the mistake of watching the first inning of the game last night. the Yankees got the bases loaded and of course, did nothing. as usual, the baseball gods rewarded the other team in the bottom half of the inning. so, i tuned into the 9th inning of the game and San Diego was up 7-2. enter fake hustle. some walks, a few hits and then, boom, it's 7-6. and here's the difference between fake hustle and real hustle. the Yankees had the tying run at 3rd with two outs. just a single and they tie the game. instead, a meek ground ball to second to end the game. i laughed, because the younger me would have been so disappointed that they came so close. the older, jaded me understands what a tease truly is. the Yankees are under the delusion that they actually have a chance this season. the sheep probably believe it as well. i've grown well past the sheep stage of my fandom. i'm at the bitter asshole stage where i don't appreciate fake hustle. i'd rather see them just lose and blow it up and start over. hopefully they start another losing streak tonight.
Euro 2016 Update:
after the first 15 minutes or so, Wales really outplayed Belgium yesterday. and honestly, the 3-1 win for Wales was completely deserved and earned. easily, the biggest win for Wales ever in a major competition. they next play against Portugal. CR7 against Gareth Bale. very interesting. today is the match between two giants, Italy vs. Germany. Italy has never lost to Germany in a competitive match. that should get tested today.
NJPW was excellent last night. 2 solid hours of great wrestling.
VICE was very interesting last night. i never knew just how much parts of Utah look like Mars. and none of the prisoner reports from Gitmo were that surprising. it amazes me why people can't see the benefit from closing it.

it's pretty cool here for July 2nd. i think it's only supposed to get into the upper 70's today. of course, that only means it's going to be hotter than shit in a few days.
i did write a new poem this morning. hopefully i write a few more of them today.
i am bringing my camera and video camera on vacation, just in case the creative juices start to flow. i do hope to get some good pictures.

i was feeling pretty good this afternoon. i just got done watching some wrestling and then it started raining. it's almost like it's a trigger now... my back started to tighten up, my hands started to ache... the whole damn body just wanted to go into a cocoon. it's a damn good thing my mantra is find the pleasure in the pain. i don't suggest that masturbating while in pain is for everyone, but it does have a way of turning the screw so to speak. enjoy the visual.
NXT Takeover: London this afternoon was awesome. i really enjoyed most of the show. i thought the tag team match and the main event were the best ones. plus, anytime you can see Finn Balor come out looking like Jack the Ripper, you know it's going to memorable. it was certainly an excellent way to spend my afternoon.
i guess my uncle is going to be moved to the nursing home right down the street from us. i think the family is having a hard time understanding that he isn't going to be around forever. i don't know if i have ever come across so many people that just are unwilling to accept death as what it is. that there is some cure or hope or whatever the fuck that is going to keep him around forever. quite honestly, it's fucking baffling.
the New York Rangers did just enough to get a win last night. i thought the kids (McIlrath and Skjei) played pretty good. i'd love to see the team keep them both around for the rest of the season. this team needs some youth. a much needed 4-2 win over Edmonton. they go back out on the road next, i believe to Minnesota.
i was happy that Jordan won The Voice last night. he truly has a wonderful voice. plus, to dominate like he has on iTunes all season, he truly deserved to win. that being said, i have no doubt that Emily Ann Roberts will have a much better career in music.
enjoy some music kids:

on the DVR tonight will be American Horror Story.
i will be watching Abby Wambach's final game tonight. as a lover of the sport, it can't be understated what she has meant to Women's soccer in this country.
other than that, i will probably be helping my mother with some more Christmas shit.
hopefully i get to bed at a decent hour tonight. i've been finding myself up at 3 in the morning for the last few nights. that's not fun when you wake up usually before 7 in the morning. i guess i will sleep well when i'm dead.

well, the experts were right for a change. it did get cold last night. i think it got down to the upper 20's here. there is another freeze warning for tonight. and of course, it's going to be back in the 70's by Wednesday. fucking figures. this whole damn state just stays sick the weather changes so damn much.
i do believe the birds were happy with me this morning. i filled up all the bird feeders. before i got back in the house they were all over them.
Manchester United played much better than i was expecting today. once they scored it was like they knew the importance of stepping on the throat and going for the kill. it was beautiful to watch. a 3-0 win was the perfect response to their last loss.
The Knick last night was excellent. looks like it is going to be another amazing season. NJPW was excellent as well. Undateable had me laughing my ass off for the entire half hour:
i believe my sister is supposed to come down here today. i think this will be her last weekend here before she goes on her trip to South Africa.

there are a ton of good college football games today. my remote is going to get a workout.
