i guess the smoke from the Canadian wildfires is back around for us. joy. mom wanted to make French Toast this morning to use up the rest of this French bread i got at Kroger. it was really good. plus, we got 3 different meals out of this French bread. i think that was good use of $1.
the New York Yankees won last night at Colorado, 6-3. hopefully, they will win the series this afternoon.
AEW Collision and AEW Battle of the Belts 7 were both good last night.
i did watch some of the MLS last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Righteous Gemstones.
the Gold Cup final is tonight between Mexico and Panama. i might watch some of that, maybe.
i did see that ETH stripped Harry Maguire of the captaincy today. hopefully, he will be on a different team this upcoming season.
i'm hoping to write some poems this afternoon.
otherwise, i am hoping for a quiet, relaxing day. (i know, i'm laughing as well)
mom has physical therapy at noon tomorrow and then an appointment to get the battery on her phone changed after that. so, i'm guessing i will be on here in the late afternoon tomorrow.
i did watch some of the Wimbledon men's final this morning. of course, i had a $2 bet on the wrong person.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

we've had storms and shit weather around us for the last 24 hours. this is the house of apathy today. the best way i can explain the pain i have is take a knife and drive it into the middle of your back, right through your spine. and then move around, cook food, help clean, answer emails, do a blog, run a small business and try to create some poems in whatever the fuck spare time is. i'm not sure many people actually understand this life. and honestly, i'm tired of trying to explain it.
i did open the 2021 Topps Stadium Club box last night. if i had to guess, the cards in it are going to be worth way more than the $25 for the box.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Holey Moley was very funny last night.
When Nature Calls was hilarious last night.
Travis did get evicted last night on Big Brother. Kayland is the new HOH.
Desus & Mero was great last night.
the USMNT defeated Martinique last night at the Gold Cup, 6-1. that sets up a game on Sunday vs. Canada to see who wins the group.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and the season finale of Betty. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
the Yankees play at home tonight against Boston. they have 6 players out with COVID. add in the injured players as well and there will be plenty of kids in the lineup and on the bench tonight. exactly what you want when you are trying to make up ground in the division.
i think my sister is coming down here tomorrow for a few hours. i know she is supposed to bring the umbrella for our table on the back porch. she'll probably freak out when she sees the tomatoes.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

okay, so it's not going to be a string of F bombs after watching Manchester United play Arsenal today. the game finished 2-2. each time United fell behind, they answered pretty quickly. and it was definitely a much better effort than what they showed over the weekend. all in all, more fucking points dropped, but it is what it is.
we got a little dusting of snow last night. just enough to have all the stupid drivers fuck everything up.
the Dayton Flyers beat the shit out of Detroit Mercy last night, 98-59. they certainly needed that kind of game after losing 3 straight and having to go play at Auburn (#8 in the country) this weekend.
Smackdown was really good last night.
i can't believe what happened on The Voice last night. the bottom 3 were Dave, DeAndre and Reagan. Reagan was too sick to perform, yet somehow, mostly due to Adam throwing DeAndre under the bus, she got voted to stay. what a fucking joke. i really hope everyone reconsiders ever picking Adam as a coach from now on.
the Saturday Night Live Christmas Special was various clips from over the years last night. it was pretty funny, even though i remembered nearly all of the clips.
so the latest to burn down the bridge and i had a little talk this afternoon. she did clear some things up for me, which i do greatly appreciate. i have no clue if we will ever be friends again, especially like we were. but, i do feel good about getting a little closure on things.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching NXT UK, NXT and 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
i had to run out to the grocery store this afternoon to get some things. i was a little surprised with how busy the local store was. i guess everyone was tired of watching the funeral on television.
i'll be on here tomorrow sometime in the afternoon i guess. i have to take mom down to the lawyer's office for both of us to do our depositions for her appeal on her disability claims. i suppose i should actually get some sleep tonight since it's going to be a long ass drive. and then the pharmacy fucked up her prescriptions again, so i think we might be taking care of that tomorrow as well. of course, i'm the one getting overcharged since i pick up her pills. they had to pay me back over $70 the last time and now i guess they overcharged me by about $35. good times.
i'm hoping we don't have much weather on that drive tomorrow.

the last 20 hours or so have been fucking crazy. i suppose i should start with last night.
as a pro wrestling fan, i am somewhat conditioned to think everything is a work. and i've been watching long enough to spot little clues and shit like that. so, when Roman Reigns came out in street clothes last night, i knew something was up. i had seen reports earlier in the day that he was injured, so i was figuring it was that. when he started his promo off apologizing and saying his real name was Joe, i knew it was much more than just an injury. and when he mentioned that he had leukemia and now it was back, i was fucking stunned. of course, the cynical bastard inside of me goes well, Vince finally found a way to make him the top babyface in the company. when Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose came out and both were crying, i lost it. and to think that the night ended with Seth and Dean winning the tag titles and then Dean turning heel on Seth, this was one of those Monday Night Raw episodes that will go down in history.
The Voice was really good last night.
i did watch Stolen Daughters: Kidnapped by Boko Haram on HBO last night. that was one tough documentary to get through without feeling a hole repeatedly punched into your stomach. i urge EVERYONE to watch this.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, Mayans M.C. and The Voice.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Florida. i will probably watch some of that.
i know the World Series starts tonight. i couldn't give two shits.
so, i got mom to her eye surgery on time today. as they were taking us back, the nurse told us we were there really early. mom told her the appointment was at 2:30. the nurse said she has it at 3:30. well, fuck me. mom showed me the paperwork when we got home, it said 2:30 on it. so, we had to sit in the room for a good hour or so before they took mom in around 3. she said this one felt different and she's complaining a lot more than she did last week for the right eye. i told her maybe it was more scar tissue they had to remove or something. hopefully, it will feel better by tomorrow. i know she goes to the eye doctor next Tuesday to make sure everything looks good. fingers crossed. thankfully, i did bring my little notebook along. i wrote 9 poems today. i'll type them up sometime soon. that fills the little notebook up.
i did watch the beginning of Manchester United vs. Juventus when i was at the hospital. i told mom that i didn't think United would win today. i was right again. Juventus won 1-0. oh well.
mom wanted to go out to eat after her procedure. for some fucking reason, she wanted Bob Evans. nothing like eating lunch at 4. i had some turkey. mom basically had dinner. joy.
on the way home, a motorcyclist told me my right tail light was out. i believe that's the same fucking light mom had Toyota fix over the summer. joy.
i need to get the trash picked up here and next door. so, that's all for me kids.
i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

i sent out 24 poems today. 3 to Pyrokinection, 5 each to Your One Phone Call, Misfit Magazine and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Yankees won today over Detroit 7-2. i believe the baseball regular season starts in like 3 weeks or something.
i'll be on here tomorrow after i make a trip to the dollar store. i need to find a cheap 3 ring binder so i can better organize my poetry archives and records.

i once again didn't watch any of the New York Yankees last night. it worked for the previous two games, so why not... it was painful walking over to the computer every 10 minutes or so to see what the score was. when the Yankees were up 3-0, i was thinking, holy shit, they might actually do this. when the Indians made it 3-2, i stayed away from the computer for a bit. i was online when Brett Gardner had his epic at bat in the 9th that gave the Yankees a 5-2 lead. when Chapman walked a guy in the bottom of the 9th, i got off the computer. i wasn't going to do anything that i could blame a sudden loss on myself. thankfully, Chapman got the outs needed and the Yankees came all the way back from being down 2 games to none to beat the fucking Cleveland Indians. as a guy that lives in Ohio, i know plenty of Indians fans. and they know i'm an asshole that will rub this in their faces for years. what i truly love about this team is they are way ahead of schedule. they traded away so many stars to "rebuild" and under a year later they are 4 wins away from going to the World Series. now, the task ahead of them will be a hard one. they haven't had much luck against Houston for a number of years now. and i don't think they will beat the Astros if Judge and Sanchez do next to nothing like they did against Cleveland. but, just like in 1996, another year no one saw it coming, just keep winning and shock the fucking world.
part 3 of Ultima Lucha Tres was excellent last night. next week could be the final episode of Lucha Underground. i know it's going to be 2 hours long, so if it is the last episode, i fully expect them to go out with a bang.
NXT was really good last night.
the season finale of Mr. Mercedes was fucking great last night.
You're the Worst was great last night.
Total Bellas was pretty good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Better Things, Gotham, Will & Grace and The Chris Gethard Show.
i think i may have found a new favorite alcohol last night. Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire. holy shit was that good.
the grocery store(s) went well yesterday. it felt like it was going to rain the entire time i was out, so i had fun plowing through that pain. the guy at the first store didn't give me everything i bought, so i had to go back in and get the bag that apparently i left behind. i was already pissed since the battery on the keys for the car died. so i actually had to manually lock and unlock the car. what the fuck. then i had to get gas. some lady didn't do the courteous thing and pull to the second pump so i could go around and be at the first pump. so i fucking blocked her in to get gas. she wasn't amused and then saw me get out of the car. she then thought better of it. the rest of the grocery shopping went pretty good. the store was pretty dead, which was fine with me.
i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after my appointment with the doctor in the morning. i have no clue if i'll have to get x-rays tomorrow or not. i know mom has an appointment right after me with him, so i think we are going out to breakfast afterwards. that should be interesting.
that's all for me today kids. i have to get started on dinner. those appointments tomorrow are at 8 in the morning, so i might actually have to get to bed before 4 in the morning. maybe.

so i have spent a few hours today amusing the unknown. i'm a little leery of people online that seem a bit sketchy. you know the type; piss poor typing, weak english, have a profile that says you are a male yet you have a profile pic of a beautiful woman, etc, etc. all that screams to me as someone who is a con and is out to scam some poor sap out of a life. so imagine my surprise when one of those basket cases asks me this morning if i was ready to be in a serious relationship with them. for those of you who know my sense of humor and complete disdain for humans in general, you understand what the last few hours was like for me. i get a sense that this woman (i'm calling it that in case it actually is a woman) could be really slow, or retarded or a damn child. who the fuck at 30 doesn't know how to use a computer. i mean shit, even if you were born in Australia and live in a small town in Wisconsin now, i have to imagine that at some point you learned the fucking basics about computers. hopefully the truth comes to light soon as i don't think i'll enjoy many more afternoons with this fucking nonsense.
i heard the lawnmowers going this morning, so i knew it was going to rain today. we just had a quick storm pass through. i'm sure there will be more coming. my legs feel like we're getting ready to have a hurricane hit us. either i pulled both hamstrings while putting those shelves together or my arthritis has taken over both of my legs. good times.
Monday Night Raw last night was pretty good. it should have been great, but only 5 guys truly showed up in my opinion. Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, John Cena, Cesaro and Kevin Owens made the night enjoyable. enjoy below:
the show after on the WWE Network was excellent. i could listen to Michael Hayes, J.J. Dillon, Arn Anderson, Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler tell Dusty Rhodes stories for hours and hours. and given that the bulk of the hour was about when i was truly becoming a fan, it was great tv:
here's some funny shit:
i saw this video today and was completely blown away. enjoy your music break:
tonight will be an interesting one for me on television. and since there is a ton of shit on, i figure it will storm like the end of days tonight and the satellite feed will get knocked out.
the New York Yankees start a series with Oakland tonight at home. a couple hours after that, team USA starts their Gold Cup campaign against Honduras. i'd love to be drinking two victory beers tonight. now, on the DVR tonight will be WWE Tough Enough, Total Divas and Tyrant. all in all, it will be another night where i'll be up at 3 in the morning.
that's all for me today. i've got trash to pick up and then i have a visit lined up with my massage chair. if i'm going to be in pain like this for the rest of my life, you can bet every dollar you have that i will have a drug addiction in the next ten years.

mom has decided to spend her birthday week going through all the boxes here at the house. have i mentioned that most of the boxes are in the garage and the garage doesn't have air conditioning. talk about working in a damn sauna. thankfully, we must have got enough done yesterday that she didn't so much out there today.
mom wanted to go out for lunch today, so we did. we had a guy do some work on our furnace and air conditioner today, so it ended up being a late lunch. after that, we did a little shopping. i'm trying to find a stand for wine glasses, not one that you attach to anything. of course, didn't find it. but, i did find a commemorative football about Ohio State winning the national championship. so, i got that instead. plus, i was looking for some frames. of course, they are all odd sizes, so no luck there either. but i did find some black construction paper that will allow me to finish another project i have for some autograph photos i have. if we would have made it back home before the storms hit, it would have been a perfect day. but that didn't happen. nothing like driving and seeing HUGE lightning bolts hitting the ground a few miles from you. the rain was coming down so hard at one point i felt like a damn storm chaser. i avoided the highway as i figured some fucker would cause an accident. so, i drove a little out of the way, but made it home.
now enjoy a musical break:
the New York Yankees finally won last night, 2-1. they got some great pitching and just enough offense to get it done. they hopefully get the split in the series tonight. they are currently leading in the game.
wrestling last night was very good. sadly, the storms fucked with my viewing for most of the night. so that means i didn't watch much of ROH and TNA at all. but what i did see was awesome.
the match on Lucha Underground last night was spectacular. hats off to Johnny Mundo and Prince Puma for some excellent story telling and some true HOLY SHIT moments. enjoy the highlights:
on NXT last night, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe beat the shit out of each other. i didn't expect a clean finish as i expect these two will feud with each other for a few more months. plus, the package they put together about Finn Balor was top notch. enjoy both below:
while enjoying a victory beer, i came across some pretty funny shit on tv last night:
i suppose i will flip between some baseball and soccer tonight. on the DVR will be Smackdown (mostly because of Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro) and The Comedians.
if my arthritis allows it tonight, i'd like to get some writing done. or, get a project done with my sports collectibles. if the way i feel now is any indication, it most likely won't happen.
do give the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast a listen this week. it's a very good show:
that's all for me today. i hope the weather is better wherever you are. i'm currently having a conversation with someone on Google+ who tells me she's this hot woman in Florida but currently is in Nigeria. gee, wonder when the money scam starts.

in yet another sign of me becoming an old fuck, i fell asleep last night before the opening of Saturday Night Live was even over. when i woke up at 5 in the morning, i was aching beyond belief. fucking weather. i did manage to get back to sleep. so most of this morning has been catching up on what i missed last night.
this one skit from Saturday Night Live did make me laugh my ass off this morning:
i just watched the episode of ROH i missed last night. the triple threat match was really good.
this will be a quick one as the Dayton Flyers play here in a few minutes. we could have gone to the game but mom is a little under the weather and my arthritis is killing me. so, hopefully i get to watch them win today from my chair.
the rain/snow line went WAY farther north than any of these fucks on tv thought it would. so, we got a little ice and nothing else. all the major snow is about 100 miles from me. good times.
the New York Rangers found some offense last night and won 4-1. i could have gone without the injury scare to The King. that was a little fucking frightening. thankfully, he was able to stay in the game. here are some highlights from the win:
today is the Super Bowl. i've picked Seattle to win a close one. as a New Orleans Saints fan, i really don't give a shit about the game. hopefully the commercials are good.
Showtime for some fucking reason is airing their shows tonight. so, after the game i will be watching Shameless, House of Lies, and Episodes. i figure i'll be watching some of the shit NBC has after the game as well.
i will be on here sometime tomorrow. i hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. if you are having a party, i hope you have a good one. and if you are betting today, i hope you have a few winners.

i set out this morning to get the poems out nice and early. little did i know that my stomach had different plans. but, once i got that handled, it was typing time.
i sent out 23 poems today. 3 you might have already seen, as they were published at Dead Snakes. i sent out 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Trailer Park Quarterly, Conduit, and Carcinogenic Poetry. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts. i've sent to a couple new places to me, so i'm hoping for some good news.
mom was busy/sick today, so i did most of the running around. i knew i better get some cat food as i was really low. i managed to get that. i do love how i intimidate people in public. grow a long goatee and watch people think they better not fuck with you. good times.
i had one young cat die on me today. it must have died overnight as i remember it eating yesterday afternoon. the scary thing is it only got to around -5 with the windchill this morning. i'm wondering how many are going to die when it hits -30 with the windchill tonight. i guess i better bring a shovel along with me tomorrow when i go to feed them.
my left arm isn't getting any better. i'm trying my best to not use it much. i know i see the doctor in a few months. my stubborn ass will probably wait until then, or at least until it falls off.
i watched a few college basketball games last night. i took it as a great sign that the same Ole Miss team that Dayton beat almost won at #1 Kentucky last night.
tonight is another crazy night of television for me. first off will be Lucha Underground. i'm really looking forward to that. then, i'm going to give TNA a shot on their new channel. hopefully it won't be a waste of my time. after that, i'll be watching American Horror Story. i'm so happy that is back. but, of course, i have something else i need to watch at the same time. the New York Rangers are out on the west coast tonight and tomorrow. Anaheim should be a good test for the boys. needless to say, i'll be up late tonight. hopefully drinking a victory beer. mostly to stay warm.
i've done my best to make sure none of the fucking pipes freeze tonight. that's the last fucking thing i need with the farm right now. now, hopefully the electricity stays on all evening.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i suppose sometime after dead cat detail.
i hope everyone is warm and enjoying life or perhaps just this moment. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

i had a nice talk with the muse last night. i'm really happy that she's doing well out on the west coast. hopefully she'll realize one day that she should be with me, but i won't hold that against her.
i got up this morning and was feeling pretty good. of course, i should have realized that was nothing more than fool's gold. shortly after i started eating breakfast, i got the shits. i tell ya, my body was wonderful timing. not like i didn't have basically a full day in public planned today or anything. thankfully, a couple of pills later and i felt much better.
i drove mom down to the place where we donate clothes. thankfully, a parking spot opened up right as i pulled up. we got rid of a ton of clothes today. hopefully they go to some needy people. after that, we drove a few miles to the used music store where i go to sell off my CDs. i must have picked the right ones as i made $50 today. much better than the last few times in there. that just about covers what i spent on Christmas. thank god for the $100 in gift cards that i used as well.
after that we drove to a steakhouse to get some lunch. mom had a gift card to use. of course, that machine wasn't working. i decided to try the spicy chicken as my appetizer. after a few bites, i thought this isn't that bad. after a few more, i believe my asshole started to pucker. being the stubborn male, i finished all of it. my lips were on fucking fire. thankfully, the steak burger cooled that down greatly. overall though, the food was great. of course, when i wake up in the morning with the shits again, i'll probably be singing a different tune.
then, it was time for the grocery store. i truly felt like the dirty old man tonight at the store. all these teenage girls in with their mothers and all i could think about was what i wouldn't give to be 15 again and know what i know now. i imagine i'll have a few creepy poems to write here soon.
tv was pretty good last night. i did laugh at The Big Bang Theory. the writing and timing of that show is top notch. i picked the football game wrong last night but my defense got me 16 points. that gets my fantasy football playoff game off to a great start.
i have no damn clue what i'm going to watch tonight. i imagine if i get bored flipping through the channels, i'll end up doing the dishes and taking my shower tonight. i think the electrician is supposed to be here in the morning, so it's probably best i take it tonight.
i have a long crazy Saturday in front of me. Dayton plays on the road, i'm taking my friend Paul to his first NHL game, and the Rangers are playing late night up in Canada. more on that craziness tomorrow morning.
i hope everyone has a great weekend in store. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

today was one of those days that frustrate the living shit out of me. for most people, it's called life. but, for me, it's simply another twist of the screw that's driving me insane. mostly, it's a matter of i like to get shit done in a prompt and direct kind of way and the rest of the world likes to takes its fucking time. and with it looking more likely that i'm going to be moving into suburbia here soon, as you might imagine, insanity is going to become a close friend.
i do believe there is an agreement in principle over the new house. i don't know all the particulars, but my mother seems to be happy. and honestly, that's good enough for me. i'm a writer, so i expect to be fucked in this deal somehow, mostly because i need something to write about.
i had to take mom to the store today. today became the evening pretty quickly. she is walking better, which makes me very happy. as i told her, she's trending in the right direction. we got a ton of food at the store as eating out is going to become a luxury very soon. so, looks like i'm going to be making my killer chili this weekend. and given this fucking weather, it's going to be needed. it almost made it out of the 30's today. lovely.
the New York Rangers shocked the shit out of me last night and whipped the Penguins 5-0. it was a glorious sight to see, especially considering my buddy Paul is a Penguins fan. i didn't call to rub it in, but i'll certainly mention it the next time he calls. of course, these teams meet again over the weekend. so i might keep the trash talk to myself. the Rangers play again tomorrow. here is the second of the 3 first period goals scored last night by the Rangers.
and the game recap:
The Voice was good last night but certainly not great. i'll be curious to see who is going home tonight.
The Concert For Valor was excellent. i love how people were outraged that some people actually fucking curse when on HBO. welcome to the real world you clueless assholes.
other than The Voice tonight, i plan on watching Lucha Underground and American Horror Story. that should be a fun evening.
i suppose i need to start figuring out what i'm going to try to sell as i certainly need to downsize before we move. if anyone knows anyone that might be interested in 40,000 baseball cards, send me an email.
that's all for me today. i'll hopefully be on here earlier tomorrow. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
stay warm.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...
music:
Walk The Moon - Shut Up and Dance

The Right Now - Half As Much

i was sitting in here on the computer this morning and happened to look out the window. much to my surprise, there was probably 15 or so wild turkeys walking in the side yard. i got my camera to try to get a picture and of course, by the time i got out there they were already in the corn field. but, that's obviously a sign summer is coming to a close soon. and when fall hits out here, this place truly becomes a fucking zoo.
so i did all that stuff yesterday morning to make sure i had everything done for the Yankees game. of course, that Yankees game started 3 1/2 hours late because of rain. just lovely. but, the Yankees did complete the sweep of the Blue Jays, winning 5-3. they are now 3 1/2 games out of a playoff spot. with 35 games left, that is absolutely doable. they start a huge series tonight in Tampa. i never like watching games in that dump. i will keep close tabs on the game though.
a big thank you to the fan that sent me 2 random photos of her in lingerie. what a great way to kill time in a rain delay.
i got 2 of my 3 wishes answered last night on Big Brother. Helen is out of the house. Judd is back in the house. unfortunately, that cunt Elissa is the new HOH. cue the Meatloaf song now. this will truly be a week where production will be calling the shots.
Wilfred was hilarious as ever last night. when you start off an episode with a dog at a glory hole, you really can't go wrong from there.
as for tv viewing tonight, maybe a little wrestling, perhaps some Food Network programming, a little baseball, and perhaps some football.
another weekend of the Premier League is coming up. Manchester United doesn't play until Monday afternoon. so, i'll be keeping my nerves under wraps until then. or, at least trying to do so.
i believe my first fantasy football draft is this weekend. that should be interesting.
also, got a fucking hilarious cartoon this morning from the artist in Sweden based on an email conversation we had the day before. i would show it but i'm hoping to include it in the book. hopefully i'll hear back from the first publisher i sent the proposal to. if it gets picked up, there are already some YouTube videos in the works. i'm really excited to spring this upon the world.
i guess the internet nearly exploded when the news came out that Ben Affleck is the new Batman. that surely has to be a sign of the coming apocalypse right?
i suppose that is all for today. i do hope everyone has a great weekend. enjoy some good times, better weather, etc. unless of course you're near a wildfire... may some rain be coming your way.

just spent the last hour of my life trying to get this blog to even load. i just fucking love Frontier Communications. i imagine if this service doesn't get any better soon, my main goal in life will be to bring that company to its knees.
a quick recap from yesterday...
the Yankees took the day off and didn't give a shit about what happened in the game. a 10-4 loss which gave the Twins their first series win in New York since i was in my mid 20's and still thought i could get pussy at any time i wanted. my, how times have changed. thankfully, there is no baseball for the next 4 days other than the All Star shit i couldn't care about if i tried. so, the Yankees are out of my mind and considering the first series back is in Boston, they may stay out of my mind for quite some time.
i watched bits and pieces of the NASCAR race. a decent day for my fantasy team.
Big Brother bored me as i pretty much knew what happened already. i just wanted to see if they were going to show more racial shit, which they did. i can't wait for when these fucks get outside of the house.
The Newsroom was superb last night. i am a language whore so i love shows that are verbose and fast. i give Sorkin credit, he's never let me down in that regard.
Ray Donovan was great as well. i laughed my ass off with the library scene. i imagine that will be me in my 60's or 70's. watching black women twerk on the screen as i tell some young punk next to me i'm an ass man.
judging from the reports i read from the Money in the Bank PPV last night, tonight's Monday Night Raw should be outstanding. i'm really interested to see how all the shockers from last night play out over the next few weeks. plus, RVD should be there. and with Heyman turning on CM Punk last night, all i can imagine is a verbal exchange for the ages. which also means that Brock Lesnar should be there for the angle to really explode. all in all, should be an interesting 3 hours. and the more interesting it is, the less tempted i will be to watch the Home Run Derby tonight.
i got invited to send poems to 2 magazines today. one i know has to be in by the end of this month. i guess i need to get my shit together here quickly. plus, i have a print zine i need to send to as well. thankfully, the weather sucks at the moment so i will gladly sit in the air conditioning and go through poems.
looks like we had some hungry deer visit the bird feeders last night. i sprayed the repellent today. what a god awful smell, especially when it's already 90 when you are spraying. thankfully there wasn't much wind.
hope the weather and the internet service is better in your neck of the woods...
music today:
Johnny Cash - American VI: Ain't No Grave
The Allman Brothers Band - The Allman Brothers Band
Walk The Moon - Walk The Moon
Elvis Costello - The Best Of Elvis Costello: The First Ten Years
Foster The People - Torches

first off, let me highly recommend The Sam Roberts Show Online #27. this episode finds Sam chatting with Bert Kreischer. if you need an hour of laughing your ass off in your life, you have found it. you can find the show at Stitcher, ITunes, or www.notsam.com. leave comments on the contact page and help Sam out if you can.
my internet has moving slower than shit today. constantly going in and out. combine this with the Yankees having their asses handed to them the last 2 nights in Chicago, and i'm in a great fucking mood. i'm home alone for the next 2 days or just about and in a pissy mood. bad combination. i'm thinking of doing some writing tonight or maybe some painting. all depends on the Yankees i suppose. if they get swept i might actually get to see what my angry paintings will look like. with the lead in the division down to 4, i can wait for my angry paintings.
other than that, got my fantasy football shit in line. have 3 drafts lined up for NFL and got my college teams ready for games on ESPN.com. hard to believe it's that time of year again.
on the poetic tip, i seem to be in a holding pattern. waiting on my book to come out. waiting to hear back on some submissions. waiting on some money that's supposedly coming. thank god my patience is biblical. i hate to see what crime i'd be in jail for if it wasn't.
music today:
Red Wanting Blue - Live at City Winery
Trampled by Turtles - Burn For Free
Walk The Moon - Walk The Moon
Brett Dennen - Loverboy
Fun. - Some Nights
Gotye - Making Mirrors
Another day in the 90's. Heat index is supposed to hit at least 100 today. There's a rumor that it might rain on Wednesday. I'm not going to believe it until I actually see it.
I'm pretty proud of Phil Hughes. It really looks like he has turned the corner. Only 2 real mistakes last night, only one of them a home run. He's really cut down on his walks this year as well. It always helps when Raul "I may be 40 but i can still hit a 3-1 fastball a country mile" Ibanez hits a grand slam in the bottom of the 8th. Nice 6-3 win last night. Sucks for the Blue Jays that Joey Bats injured his wrist last night. Hopefully it means he'll miss the next 2 games but be back in time to crush the rest of the AL East.
Side note, the Yankees have scored more than 3 runs in 40 straight games. A team record for a single season. That kind of shocked me considering all the great teams in the past. Of course, according to my superstitious ass the streak will end now that I've talked about. CC comes back tonight, so hopefully they won't need a ton of runs in case it does.
My cat Rita Dove made a rare appearance this morning. I haven't seen it in over a week or so. Not sure what it was eating because it looks really good.
Chuckled as I watched Monday Night Raw last night. I'm really hoping the writers are smart enough to make John Cena the first guy to cash in the Money In The Bank contract and lose. As a fan of CM Punk for years now, I'd love this title run to continue for over a year. The 1000th episode is next week, I'm hoping for 3 hours of good memories and some great wrestling. I fear a lack of both as age takes a toll as the last month of stars coming back has shown.
Not exactly sold yet on this Big Brother cast but I'm slowly getting there. Just enough drama and stupidity that I can laugh myself to sleep each night. Now, if there was only a little slutty activity...
music for today:
Of Monsters And Men - My Head Is An Animal
Walk The Moon - Walk The Moon
John Mayer - Born and Raised
