the joys of back pain...

before i get into all the happenings of yesterday, i want to take care of a few things.

first, a big shoutout to the person who reads this blog and then gives the person i'm not allowed to talk about a recap every two weeks. kudos to you for the job you do and for apparently being bilingual. i will try to make your job as boring as possible, but do remind the person i'm not allowed to talk about my first amendment rights. thanks again and i hope you enjoy the show.

secondly, i believe the wheels have started moving on some news i'm really excited about later this week. i will hopefully have good news to share soon.

now, on to the fucking New Orleans Saints playing like shit yesterday. you can't win games in the NFL with 5 fucking turnovers. and what pisses me off even more, the defense played so good for most of the game. Jameis Winston threw 3 interceptions. the fumbles by Ingram and Olave didn't help either. and i have no fucking clue why Lattimore was ejected from the game when that fucking punk Mike Evans should have been the only one kicked out. to me, that changed the whole fucking game. oh well. the Saints lost to Tampa Bay, 20-10.

the Yankees won yesterday, defeating Milwaukee, 12-8. Aaron Judge hit two more home runs, and now has a legitimate shot to win the triple crown. i have the feeling more athletes are going to bet on themselves now in the future.

the Columbus Crew had a draw yesterday against Portland. honestly, when you get scored on at the death for the game to end 1-1, it basically feels like a loss.

Big Brother was good last night. Monte won the VETO so i'm pretty sure Brittany will be the next one to leave.

the season finale of VICE was two very good episodes last night.

City on a Hill was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan was very good last night.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw, the season finale of Industry and The Voice.

i did listen to episode 413 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:

i didn't sleep worth a fuck last night. so, i thankfully got a few hours this afternoon with the help of some ice and my massage chair.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i need to get going on dinner tonight.

if you are betting the two Monday Night Football games tonight (Titans vs. Bills and Vikings vs. Eagles), best of luck to you. i think both home teams are going to win.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then kids...

well, it started off good...

the USWNT game against the Netherlands yesterday in the Women's World Cup final started off like i thought it would. the first half was pretty even and finished at 0-0. i wasn't surprised when the USA started off on the front foot in the second half and slowly imposed their will. that is what great teams do. i knew that the penalty given to the Netherlands was supposed to be a penalty before VAR told the official it was. when Rapinoe scored, i had a good feeling that was all they were going to need. when Rose Lavelle scored to make it 2-0, i knew it was all over then. i'm so happy for the women on this team. now, hopefully they win their case against U.S. Soccer and actually get equal pay.

the game finished right as the New York Yankees were starting yesterday. the Yankees lost 2-1. i didn't want them to enter the All-Star break on a losing streak, but they are still first in the division by 6 1/2 games. they start the second half with a nice long homestand, so hopefully they will get off to a great start on the road to the playoffs.

then, last night i watched the USMNT against Mexico in the final of the Gold Cup. i loved how the USA started, but of course, they weren't clinical in the final third and pissed chance after chance away. they should have been up 3-0 at halftime. it was 0-0. Mexico made the adjustments that a good coach does and surely enough, they dominated the USA in the second half. when Mexico scored to make it 1-0, i knew there was little chance the USA would come back. it doesn't help when your coach makes some of the dumbest fucking substitutions i have seen in a long time. i'm all for taking off a defender when trailing in a final. but, why the fuck do you replace him with another defender? holy fuck, i would fire him today for that alone.

that loss kept me up until 5 this morning. i must have replayed the game in my head 5 to 10 fucking times. i sadly have the feeling that the best player this country has ever produced (Christian Pulisic) is going to be wasted in yet another generation of USMNT that doesn't win shit.

Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

City on a Hill was really good last night.

Big Brother was good last night.

Big Little Lies was excellent last night.

Euphoria was great last night.

one of my favorite local bands released their new album over the weekend. i highly recommend it.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get those poems out. or after i get my blood drawn again. honestly, i couldn't give two shits if my liver enzymes are elevated anymore.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

i didn't hear any sirens...

apparently, there was a tornado a few miles away from where i live last night. i didn't know anything about it until around 3 in the morning or so. the way the weather has been here lately, tornadoes around here aren't that surprising anymore.

the New York Yankees broke out the bats yesterday and defeated Tampa, 13-5 to go back into first place in the AL East. the Yankees start a series tonight at Baltimore. hopefully the offense can keep on rolling.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs yesterday:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

team USA did defeat Germany yesterday 3-1 at the Hockey World Championships. they play Canada tomorrow. the win over Germany did give team USA a spot in the quarterfinals.

the season finale of Barry was great last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night.

WWE Money in the Bank was pretty good last night, right up until the last 5 minutes of the show. when Brock Lesnar's music hit, i wanted to puke. having him win the Money in the Bank contract is fucking stupid. and i do understand this is Vince's reaction to the ratings being down, etc. but god forbid you put in the time to create new stars for the fans to be excited about.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Carpool Karaoke and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i do plan on watching some of Warriors vs. Trailblazers tonight as well.

the weather really cooled down today. it felt good to open up the house and let the breeze in again.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

it's only blood...

i don't know how many fucking times i have hit my lower left leg on this spot on my bed frame, but it fucking hurts every damn time i do it. but, it's only blood. as i told my mother, everything on that leg is fucking dead except the nerves. and quite honestly, if i didn't have something to bitch about, it wouldn't be my life.

i sent out 24 poems today. 3 to Pyrokinection, 5 each to Your One Phone Call, Misfit Magazine and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Baskets, Hate Thy Neighbor and The Voice. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Winnipeg. it will be interesting to see if they can keep their winning streak going.

the New York Yankees won today over Detroit 7-2. i believe the baseball regular season starts in like 3 weeks or something.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i make a trip to the dollar store. i need to find a cheap 3 ring binder so i can better organize my poetry archives and records.

that's all for me today kids. i'm off to go get the trash done next door and here.
