today has been one of those days where my arthritis has been dragging me down. i did make it to Kroger to get the muscle relaxers they ordered for mom. they seem to be working so far. i think she finally got some sleep last night. glad she did, i might have got a good 3 hours. i did get a couple hours this afternoon with ice on my back. always fun to put ice right on your spine and try to freeze all the activity going down the spinal cord. good times.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
it is supposed to get into the 50's today. and then, it is going to rain and by mid week, get cold again. the beauty of Ohio... wait 5 minutes and the weather will change and keep everyone sick. joy.
the guy that does our lawn came by yesterday to let us know he won't be doing it anymore. so, mom and i have to decide what we want to do.
Manchester United lost yesterday at home to Nottingham Forest, 3-2. i wasn't thrilled with that. and then i woke up this morning to the news that their sporting director has left the club. given the statement that United put out, it is beyond obvious he got fired. chaos upon chaos. great.
the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at home against Lehigh, 86-62.
NXT Deadline was excellent last night.
AEW Collision was ok last night.
i did watch some college football yesterday:
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Agency and the series finale of Somebody Somewhere.
the New York Rangers play this afternoon at home against Seattle.
the New Orleans Saints play today at the Giants.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.
we got the Christmas trees up yesterday. i brought some more stuff in last night from the garage. i'm guessing mom will decide what she wants up this afternoon.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

so, i woke up this morning at a decent time but i had a truly strange fucking dream last night. now, i thought i would be dreaming about when the muse texted me last night and said how she can't wait to kick me in the nuts one day, but instead i was having a dream about various neighborhoods i grew up in and then weaving them together with friends from my childhood. it was like The Outsiders meets Goonies meets some random porn and a soundtrack from Ugly Kid Joe. i woke up at 9:05 and was like what the fuck.
so, i went to Rite Aid today to pick up a prescription. after that, i had to go to Compunet to get some blood drawn. i have a doctor's appointment on Friday. i did my good deed for the day and helped another lady pick up this older lady that had fallen. i got home, iced my back and then took mom to the police station to drop off some old drugs. after that, she wanted to go to Dollar Tree to find some shit. she did find a few things there.
the New Orleans Saints won last night, 20-17. should have been a bigger margin of victory but the Saints played prevent defense for the last 2 minutes and of course, gave up a touchdown late.
i did watch a little of the other game last night as the Steelers beat the Browns, 26-22.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch, Name That Tune, Inside the NFL and Welcome to Wrexham.
the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Toronto. since the Blue Jays are still playing for something, it will be interesting to see if the Yankees feel like playing the spoiler.
i think mom is making some tuna for dinner tonight. i will probably have to help her.
i need to get the trash picked up and figure out the grocery list for tomorrow.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done and after Manchester United plays at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

i don't think it got cold enough out here last night for the patchy frost the weather experts were warning about. at least, when i woke up this morning, i didn't see any damage to any of the new plants. they were enjoying the full sunshine.
the New York Yankees lost last night in Toronto, 3-0, in 10 innings. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.
here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night.
AEW Dynamite was very good last night.
the season finale of The Masked Singer was good last night. i nailed the last two celebrities left.
i will hopefully have some more poems to type up this afternoon after i get home from mom's physical therapy session.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and the two episode season finale of Young Sheldon.
i will probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.
i know after we get back from mom's physical therapy i need to put out the repellent i got yesterday.
a little Notsam Wrestling bonus episode i am listening to right now:
i did get the shopping done today before the rain (other than annoying fucking drizzle) really started today. that was a goal. sadly, it doesn't have to be raining for my arthritis to be fucking killing me. it hurts to walk, to sit, to stand... my mother looked at me today and said aloud, i'm not sure how you are doing this. i looked at her and laughed and said the only way i keep going anymore is i'm not afraid to die.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
gambling didn't go as well as i wanted last night. hopefully, it will be much better tonight.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at UMASS. i'm hoping Dayton will win tonight.
the USWNT can win the SheBelieves Cup tonight with a win or draw against Brazil.
i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays Barcelona at Old Trafford. i'm really hoping i will be in a good mood since that would mean United would be advancing in the Europa League.

i think it got down to around 4 degrees last night. i tossed and turned all night, never quite able to find a good position. good times.
Celebrity Big Brother was pretty good last night. it is quite obvious they only did the show to have programming to go against the Olympics.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
i did watch some of the USA vs. Canada last night in women's hockey. Canada won 4-2.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT.
so, i guess mom fell this morning in the bathroom. i must have been in the kitchen making my breakfast, because i didn't hear anything. she told me about it while i was making her egg for her breakfast. she has this obsession that she has to get naked to take her weight. i asked her, wouldn't it be safer to not do that? she rebuffed that notion and i, like the smart ass i am, then said... if the mental boost of being a few pounds lighter at best is more important than the possibility of slipping, hitting your head on toilet and dying, then just keep doing what you are doing. i can't imagine why i get frustrated...
Manchester United plays this afternoon at Burnley. i'm hoping United will win, but i won't be shocked if they struggle once again and probably fucking blow it, again.
i guess i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i know the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow night at home. i would love to go to the game but with mom's health and balance being shitty here lately, that won't be happening.
i need to go get the mail and work on the driveway a little bit more. i'm trying to get a clear path to get the trash down to the street without me having to do it on ice skates.

i ended up taking a shower at like 2 in the morning last night. i was really hoping it was going to help me sleep. so of course, i was up at 7:30 this morning. i guess my only hope for good sleep is death. good times.
Ohio State started off somewhat sluggish as i figured they would last night. thankfully, they settled down in the second half and defeated Minnesota, 45-31. the defense isn't as good as the offense and it is glaring in most spots. so, i get the feeling that Ohio State is going to have to outscore everyone this season. the offense is good enough that i think they might be able to do that. next week is the home opener against Oregon, which will be a really good test to see how good they actually are.
the USMNT got a 0-0 draw last night at El Salvador. at least they didn't lose, but they need to be way more clinical with their chances. the next match is against Canada.
Big Brother went as i expected last night. Sara Beth was voted out. Tiffany is the new HOH.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
both episodes of What We Do in the Shadows was fucking hilarious last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Bitchin': The Sound and Fury of Rick James. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
the Yankees play tonight at home against Baltimore. they need to win all these games against the lower teams that are left on their schedule.
i had to go to the ATM this afternoon for mom. she wanted me to get out $250. it takes almost 20 minutes to drive to where their closest ATM is. it wouldn't allow me to take out the $250. it said went past the daily allowed amount. after talking to mom, i tried $150. that worked. when i got home i told mom i wasn't sure what the fucking problem was since one of the on screen options for withdrawal is $300. another reason why i hate small banks.
i did go to the Rite Aid near that bank today. i got one box of Fairfield baseball cards for $2. there was about $15 worth of cards in it. that made me happy.
i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow, before all the college football games start.

my mother had her oxygen tank (for lack of a better word) delivered here last night. the guy who brought it and set it up was really nice. he explained things very clearly. mom has to use it every night while she is sleeping. thankfully, it doesn't make much noise. she said she felt pretty good last night. we have to figure out all her foods and how much she can have. but, i'm sure we'll get the feel for that before too long.
Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.
Austin City Limits was an old episode last night with Willie Nelson.
ROH was pretty good last night.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Allen v. Farrow, Last Week Tonight, Batwoman, The Luminaries, Shameless and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching WWE Elimination Chamber for most of the evening.
Manchester United plays later today at home. the game is Peacock, so i'll have to follow along on my phone. hopefully, they will get a victory today.
the USWNT takes on Brazil today in the SheBelieves Cup.
i'm sure i'll probably watch some college basketball today as well.
and maybe a little outdoor hockey...
i have no idea when i will be on here tomorrow. i think mom has some home healthcare people coming or calling or both tomorrow. i know her endless parade to the doctors starts on Tuesday.

i am so ready for 2020 to be over. i'm not sure if that's the pain talking or the naive fucker inside of me that thinks 2021 is going to be better.
so, just before the Dayton game last night, i saw that Chase Johnson was leaving the team for the second time in 2 years. i'm hoping he gets his health in order and shit, but it is a little funny that this has happened after the end of the first semester 2 years in a row. on top of that, two other players were injured and weren't going to be able to play against LaSalle. that meant that their new player from Finland, Mustapha Amzil, was not only going to be making his collegiate debut in the game, he was going to be starting. now, he was probably the only Dayton player i couldn't be mad at, mostly because he scored 22 points in the game and was the only fucking player on Dayton that looked like he cared. Dayton lost last night to a fucking horrible LaSalle team, 67-65. that was the first time LaSalle won at Dayton since 1999. the more i type about it, all the shit i felt last night keeps coming up. so yeah, they play against George Mason on Saturday at home. if they play like they did last night, they will lose again.
AEW last night was very emotional. they gave probably the best tribute show i have ever seen last night for the memory of Brodie Lee. i cried for nearly the whole damn show.
NXT was very good last night.
i did catch a little of the World Juniors last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
nothing on the DVR tonight. i watched NXT UK this afternoon on WWE Network. it was a look back on 2020 and was pretty good.
i will be watching the USA vs. Sweden game tonight at the World Juniors. if either team wins in regulation, they win the group. it would be massive for the USA to win tonight. that would give them the "easier" game in the quarterfinal.
i'm sure i'll probably watch the ball drop tonight and be thankful this fucking year is over.
and i'm sure i'll probably text a few friends around midnight, although i'll probably be the only one awake.
it's painfully obvious that age is getting to all of us.

the New Orleans Saints whipped the shit out of Tampa Bay last night, 38-3. i fucking loved how they knocked Tom Brady on his ass all night long. my favorite part of the game had to be when Adam Trautman scored his first touchdown of his NFL career. i don't think anyone from Dayton had scored in the NFL in almost 50 years. hopefully, it won't be his last. the Saints are getting healthy and i really hope that means this winning streak is going to last the rest of the season.
the season finale of Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night.
The Good Lord Bird was excellent last night. the finale is next week.
Moonbase 8 was really funny last night.
the finale of Seduced: Inside The NXIVM Cult was excellent.
The Undoing was great last night. i can't remember a show with this many twists every damn week.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice, Axios and Industry. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i'll probably flip over at some point and let mom watch some of her Jets vs. Patriots game.
i did listen to episode 316 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
mom had an electrician come out today and look at our lights in the front of the house. i guess the sensors are messed up on all 3 of them. but, they did have an extra wire so they could be wired where i will have to turn them on and off. hopefully, that will work for awhile.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i got my mother's Christmas gifts ordered last night. i figured i needed to buy some soft sleeves on Amazon for my baseball cards and they were actually in stock. so, i decided to just get everything at once and get it over with. this way, it will be here long before any backlogs in orders, etc.
i did go out to Meijer today to look for some things for mom. i did find a couple things she wanted. then, i went over to Big Lots to get some baseball cards. i had a $10 off coupon i needed to use. i ended up spending around $40 on the cards. i think i might have broke even in total. i got two short prints from 2019 Topps Heritage and i got an Aaron Judge card that is worth a little money. all in all, not bad.
NXT last night was excellent.
AEW was fucking great last night as well.
Big Brother was good last night. i fully expect Cody to evict Christmas tonight.
enjoy some music:

i have no need to watch the presidential debate. my absentee ballot has already been mailed in and received.
i'm probably going to be on here tomorrow being doing loads of my laundry.
it's been really warm today, like upper 70's. i decided to air out the house a bit since i know come this weekend, the furnace will be back on. it's supposed to be in the 40's for the weekend. joy.

right before i was going to go to bed last night, i got the news that Toots Hibbert had died. that sadness took me on a deep dive of songs i hadn't listened to in years. the one thing i have always loved about reggae music is that it is so different from everything else i listen to. it is like a rush of fresh air. Toots and the Maytals was one of the groups i would go to, especially when i was younger. and given their influence on nearly every band in the world, this is going to be one of those deaths that leaves a hole that will never be filled. thanks for all the wonderful music. thanks for the shining light. rest in power. rest in peace.
the Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday. 6-0 in game 1 and 10-1 in game 2. hopefully, that will start a run of victories going into the playoffs. the game today just started a little bit ago.
