the rain isn't helping...

today has been all about managing pain and frustration. i'd like to think i would get a gold star today. so, a little after 9 this morning, i called Rite Aid because i knew i was going to run out of a pill by tonight. i already had a new prescription for it on hold, so i wanted them to fill it. the lady on the phone said the insurance isn't willing to pay for it until March 1st. well shit. i mentioned something about GoodRx and they said they will try it but it has been giving them problems today so far. they insisted that i call my insurance company and get them to override it. so, after i ate breakfast, i called the insurance company. what a fucking waste of time. i got transferred 3 times and none of the people were someone i actually needed to talk to. all of them said that Rite Aid should call to get the override. so, after all that bullshit, i called Rite Aid back up. i told them what the insurance company said and they said well, that isn't how it normally happens. anyway, we were able to run it through GoodRx and it will be ready in a few minutes. sure enough, i got a text 3 minutes later that it was ready. i went to Rite Aid and picked it up and got back home before all the rain came today. gold fucking star.

and now we get to the Dayton Flyers. what pisses me off the most about how Anthony Grant coaches is none of his teams (except for perhaps the 29-2 team that got robbed right before the pandemic) ever play as good as they can. they always tend to play down to the competition. and rightly so, they will get burned doing this when the attention to detail doesn't exist. last night was the perfect example. rebounding is all about want to. defending without fouling is all about sticking to fundamentals. Dayton got destroyed on both of those. and it wasn't that George Mason is any fucking good, trust me, they aren't, it is all about how Dayton is pissing away the great opportunity they had this season. i hope that they actually drop out of the top 25. that would be the fucking wake up call they need. Dayton lost 71-67. they were actually up by 6 at halftime. i guess maybe they shouldn't have let George Mason go on a 19-0 run in the second half. fuck me.

well, here comes the rain...

i did get the shopping done today before the rain (other than annoying fucking drizzle) really started today. that was a goal. sadly, it doesn't have to be raining for my arthritis to be fucking killing me. it hurts to walk, to sit, to stand... my mother looked at me today and said aloud, i'm not sure how you are doing this. i looked at her and laughed and said the only way i keep going anymore is i'm not afraid to die.

speaking of the number 2

it fucking rained all night last night. i got maybe 2 hours of sleep. i got 2 more hours of sleep this morning in my massage chair when i got some ice on my back. the pinched nerves in my arms certainly enjoyed the rain. i'm learning to ride the waves of pain again. fun times.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

sometimes, the hours just all bleed together...

i know my "normal" life will not exist for months now, given that my mother nearly died. the home health nurse came out today. they are sending someone on Friday to get mom's pills all in order so she can't forget to take something anymore. i know the next few weeks will be hectic as fuck as i have to take her to about 4 different doctors. and somewhere in all of that, i have to find the time to sell some baseball cards, write some poetry and maintain this blog. the odds of me dying by 50 are better than ever now. good times.

WWE Elimination Chamber was pretty good last night and definitely made the road to WrestleMania a little more interesting. of course, i would love to see The Miz lose the title tonight...

Axios was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Allen v. Farrow was kind of sad last night. as someone who was molested as a child, i could feel nothing but pain for almost the entire show.

Shameless was great last night. i always loved Fiona and the clips brought back some great memories.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Batwoman was really good last night.

The Luminaries was good last night.

welcome to the weekend...

i'm running on 4 hours of sleep at the moment, so this should be a fun day.

the New York Rangers won their 7th straight road game last night in Carolina, 5-2. that ties the franchise record for a road winning streak. they play tonight at home against San Jose.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

High Maintenance was excellent last night.

The Cure: Anniversary 1978 - 2018 Live in Hyde Park London was brilliant last night. i have loved that band since i was a kid.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

the Dayton Flyers put their winning streak on the line this afternoon at home against Duquesne. i'm hoping Dayton puts this game to bed early.

i figure when i get home from the game, i'll probably start my laundry. exactly how i want to spend a Saturday.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.

now i remember why i hate people

after going to 5 different stores today to get all the shopping done, i remember why i never loved doing this shit before. two assholes together does not make a party. i admit, i am an asshole. i don't like people, i don't smile, i'm not overly polite and i don't have much time for fake shit. the world of 2019 is mostly fake shit. that's why i laughed my ass off today when i saw this absolutely stunning woman in the grocery store, i mean drop dead fucking gorgeous, and she looked so fucking pissed to be where she was at that exact moment. i howled with laughter. and with all the shit we needed, plus gas, i probably dropped a good $200 today. thank god my credit is fucking good.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was hilarious last night.

Young Sheldon was very good last night.

Lip Sync Battle was really good last night.

Gotham was great last night.

Will & Grace was fucking crazy last night.

Desus & Mero was very good last night. so happy they are on Showtime now.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Minnesota, 4-1. trade deadline is on Monday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, WOW, Real Time with Bill Maher and 2 Dope Queens.

i think i am going to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow. and i know the Rangers play early tomorrow afternoon. so, i guess the blog will be done in the morning.

bleary eyed and happy

i'll have my take on what these assholes believe will stop the next school shooting in a bit, but first i wanted to talk about the women's hockey game last night.

i watched every second of that game between the USA and Canada last night. when Canada was up 2-1 in the 3rd period, i feared that the curse was going to continue. but, when Canada had a horrific line change and the USA got a breakaway and scored, i was thrilled. and i just had a feeling that it was going to be like 1998 again. when the game got to the shootout, i really felt like the USA could pull it out. and then came one of the filthiest fucking goals i have ever seen in my life. that goal gave the USA the gold, 3-2 over Canada. and to win like that on the anniversary of the Miracle on Ice is pretty fucking cool. i believe the game got over at like 2 in the morning. i didn't get to sleep until around 5. i think my adrenaline still works at least.

Celebrity Big Brother was pretty good last night.

NXT was excellent last night. i can't wait to see where the story goes with Johnny Wrestling.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Lip Sync Battle.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. you can find that by going here:
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2018/2/22/wrestling-podcast-174-jinder-mahal

i have no clue what is on the Winter Olympics tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Montreal. hopefully all the guys that are on the trade block have great games so they improve their trade value.

now for my take on this crazy fucking idea of arming teachers...

it's painfully obvious that these old white guys don't know what it is like to be a student in this century or what it is to be a teacher in this century. you give the teachers guns and here is what is going to happen... first, a student will get the gun from the teacher and... or the teacher will get pissed at a student and then a moment of temporary rage takes over... nothing good will come of this, except that all the gun manufactures will make money as will the NRA. what a fucking shock. and for that asshole that runs this country to praise the NRA like he did today shows that his "listening session" with students and parents and teachers the day before was nothing but a fucking charade. he knows where his money from Russia is coming from. he has to praise the NRA or the money stops. all those fuckers know that. you want better politics in this country, get the fucking NRA out of the politics.

now off of my soapbox...

mom cancelled her physical therapy session for today. her doctor called in a prescription for her last night. i went out in the rain last night to get it. i hate driving in the rain at night. it's too tempting for me to just drive right into the oncoming lights.

we got over 2 inches of rain last night. i don't how much we're supposed to get tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain all fucking day. that should make the grocery store tons of fun.

that's all for me kids...

and the train keeps rolling

i was very pleased with how Manchester United played today. going on the road is never easy in the Europa League. i guess the 3-0 lead from the first game certainly helped. United won today 1-0, despite having to play the last 30 minutes of the game with 10 men. now, i didn't like the injuries to Carrick and Mkhitaryan, as they will probably miss the League Cup Final this Sunday. but, with how United is playing now, their depth is certainly coming in handy. they are now on to the final 16 of the Europa League. hopefully they will be raising their first trophy of this season on Sunday.

the Dayton Flyers won last night 83-70 over George Mason. it was almost like watching a NBA game. it was a game of runs. Dayton would get up by 10 and then it was right back down to 1. Dayton had a 20-0 run in the second half that sort of put the game away. that all happened with the starters on the bench. the sophomore class has started calling themselves the 2K19 gang. they were responsible for most of that 20 point run. John Crosby, normally a human turnover for most of the season, played his best game of his career last night. 3 huge three pointers and no turnovers. easily, player of the game.
that's 100 wins for the senior class and a guaranteed double bye in the A10 tournament. next game is on Friday at Davidson. hopefully the boys aren't looking past that one, as the huge game against VCU is after that.

the New York Rangers lost to Montreal last night 3-2 in a shootout. i didn't get to see any of the game as it was over by the time i got home. at least they got a point. they next play tomorrow at Toronto.

i thought Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was really good as well.

Taboo was spectacular last night. i can't fucking wait to see what happens next week on the season finale.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i had to make a trip to the grocery store today to get some prescriptions for mom. she thought she had 2 but they only had 1 ready. of course, i wasn't expecting it to cost almost $200. good times.

my sister starts her new job in a few days. best of luck to her after so many years in one place. i told her to look at the bright side. if she likes her new job, she probably can work 10 years, take early retirement and then just travel the world for the rest of her life.

i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'm running on just a few hours of sleep today, so i'm guessing it won't be early tomorrow.

one of those days to forget

if you have read this blog for any amount of time, i think it's pretty safe that i can assume you know just how big of a sports fan i am. which also means you know there are certain days where, as a sports fan, i'd rather stick a gun in my mouth than face the next day. hello to the present.

where to begin... oh, that's right, a little team in Manchester that probably pissed away a chance to finish in the top 4 this season. i guess it's poison for Manchester United to score first this season. of course, they only had that lead for almost 2 minutes. then, they absolutely dominated the second half but, as the manager said after the game, they forgot to score. who the fuck forgets that? dominate for 45 minutes and never challenge the keeper once and Swansea gets one fucking chance and it's in the back of the net. fuck me. now i have to lower myself into hoping Liverpool wins today so United is still in the top 4, barely. and if that wasn't bad enough...

the Dayton Flyers were always a team when i was growing up that would tease you with potential and then absolutely crush your hearts with a horrific loss to a team they should never lose to going down the stretch of a season. the last couple of years, that kind of loss hadn't happened. unfortunately, yesterday, it reared its fucking ugly head once again. to lose to a shitty Duquesne team by 10 (83-73) is bad, but to lose when only one player gives max effort (Dyshawn Pierre 27 points 12 rebounds) and no one gives a shit on defense is completely unacceptable. if they ever wonder why they missed the NCAA tournament this season, this will be the game they can look back to. nothing quite like going from being tied for first in the league to being fourth because you lost to a team with now 9 fucking wins this season. 9. i think i just tasted vomit.

after that, i decided to go punish myself by shoveling snow. what a fucking great time i had. we had every bit of 6 or 7 inches of snow. after i got the sidewalks done, my back was killing me. but, i couldn't do anything for it as i still had to feed the cats and take the trash out. just imagine what a couple of victory beers could have done for me.

the cats couldn't give a shit that i was there with food and water because i was a few hours later than i normally am. and people wonder why i don't like animals.

i let mom basically have the television last night. so, it was some Dateline and home improvement shows. i was hoping to get some sleep, but of course that didn't happen. so i basically just got on the computer and listened to music for a good 90 minutes or so. since i don't smoke pot anymore, that is my way of zoning out. it helped, i guess.

i fell asleep in the middle of ROH last night. so, i'm going to try to catch the episode today at noon. after that, i may watch a little of the Daytona 500 before i have to go to the grocery store to get my prescriptions. hopefully the roads are better today than yesterday.

tonight, the New York Rangers play Columbus at MSG. i won't watch much of the game as i have to watch the Columbus feed for it, and their announcers fucking suck. since the Academy Awards are tonight, Showtime isn't running any new shows. that makes my Sunday night a little easier. i believe the plan will be to watch The Jinx, Total Divas, Girls, Last Week Tonight, and Togetherness tonight. if everything works out, i might actually be done before 1 in the morning.

since we have all this snow now, the temps are going to get cold as fuck again. so, just about every night for the next week, the low will be below zero. good times. thank god the propane tank got filled the other day.

of course, being this cold will make moving pure fucking hell. and since the internet and Directv is going in at the end of February/early March at the new house, most of the shit has to be moved this week. good times. so, this more or less is my last week of living on the farm. hard to believe i have been here since May of 1997.

not sure how i will like/hate life in suburbia as i have hardly any clue how that is anymore. having neighbors that are within walking distance is certainly going to be a new thing.

oh well, cross that bridge when i get to it i suppose.

that's all for me today. this upcoming week is going to be hit or miss for this blog. i have no clue when i'm going to be on here next. so, until then my friends. hope you're having a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
