so, i had to go out and get some stuff for my mother today. i figured fuck it, i might as well try to find some baseball cards as well. no luck at either Rite-Aid i went to today, though i did find everything my mother needed. i went to Big Lots hoping i would find something. i found the cookies my mother wanted... as i was waiting to checkout, i looked to my left and saw an Upper Deck logo. i had never seen these cards before. fuck it, i bought 5 packs of them. 2019 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions. i didn't think much of the cards until i pulled 2 Luka Doncic cards. i looked those up on Ebay and they are going for over $30. well, shit. i also pulled a Wayne Gretzky card out of a pack that is going for more than $10. ok, that works.
i switched it up last night and decided to watch The Voice first and record Monday Night Raw. that way, i could fast forward my way through Raw and cut out all the shit that bores me these days. trust me, it was most of the show.
as for The Voice, i thought it pretty good last night.
the finale of The Investigation was excellent last night.
Beartown was fucking great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential.
the New York Rangers play at Pittsburgh tonight. hopefully, they will get a better result than Sunday.
the Yankees lost today 6-5 to Detroit. and of course, just like the last 3 seasons, the injury train has begun. this time, Zack Britton.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

as i sat down to watch the Manchester derby yesterday, i was hoping for the best. 35 seconds in, i was fucking buzzing. when Bruno scored the penalty, my hopes got much higher. when Luke Shaw of all people scored the second goal, i was through the roof. this was easily the best game United had played all season. Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-0. that ended City's 21 game winning streak.
the New York Yankees defeated the Phillies yesterday, 4-0. they are off today.
the New York Rangers lost at Pittsburgh last night, 5-1.
i did watch a good portion of the NBA All-Star game festivities last night. i thought it went about as well as anything could go in the pandemic.
Axios was very good last night.
Allen v. Farrow was good last night. it was yet another example of why i hate the rich.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
Vice was excellent last night.
The Luminaries was really good last night.
Shameless was hilarious last night.
Desus & Mero was fucking great last night.

it got up into the 60's today. as soon as i walked outside to get the mail, i wanted to grab a lawn chair and take a nap in the sun. of course, it's supposed to rain in a few days. joy.

i love trying to fold clothes when my arthritis is raging. my fingers can't grip anything for shit. it's like i'm all thumbs. good times. my last load of laundry is in the dryer. if there was a god, i'd have my own personal morphine drip.
Monday Night Raw was good last night, for what i watched. to be honest, it wasn't much. i did see Bobby Lashley finally win the WWE Championship. that's been long overdue. other than that, i honestly was watching The Voice.
The Voice was pretty good last night.
The Investigation was excellent last night. the finale is next week.
Beartown was very good last night. i think the next few episodes are going to be crazy.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Rock, Kenan and The Voice.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Buffalo. hopefully, the Rangers will win tonight.
the Dayton Flyers had 20 turnovers last night. Jalen Crutcher fouled out on some of the softest fucking calls i have ever seen. and somehow, Dayton beat Saint Bonaventure 55-52. that means Dayton ends up the 7 seed in the A10 Tournament. they will face Rhode Island on Thursday. if they win that game, they will have to face VCU on Friday.
the Yankees won today over the Orioles, 4-2.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done and probably after Manchester United plays.
i have the trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for me kids...

thankfully, today was sunny. of course, since i decided i better write some poems last night, i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. and lucky me, i was up at 8:30 this time.
i wrote 3 poems last night. first poems i had written in a couple of weeks. hopefully, i will have some more in the next few days.
Manchester United and Chelsea played a lifeless 0-0 draw yesterday. there's a few hours of my life i'll never get back.
the New York Rangers lost to Boston yesterday 4-1. i wasn't that surprised honestly.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Toronto, 6-4. they won today over Detroit, 5-4. they certainly have home run hitters this year, that's for sure.
Axios was very good last night.
Allen v. Farrow was very disturbing last night. it's obvious that Woody Allen has been a predator for the majority of his adult life.
Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.
Batwoman was very good last night.
The Luminaries was excellent last night.
Shameless was fucking hilarious last night. hard to believe only 6 episodes left.
Desus & Mero was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Beartown, The Investigation and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Saint Bonaventure. i believe Dayton is locked into the 8/9 game for the A10 Tournament and i'm pretty sure Saint Bonaventure is going to be the #1 seed. and since Dayton has won a few games in a row up there, i'm sure Dayton will probably get blown out tonight.
i did listen to episode 332 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can listen to that by going here:
i mailed the baseball cards out today at the post office. after that, i went to the bank to make a deposit. Alexis was working there again. i don't believe she understands just how fucking sexy she is. after that, i had to go to Kroger to pick up prescriptions for myself and my mother. i did stop by the Rite-Aid up there. no luck on any baseball or football cards. i did get the first part of my Amazon order in today. now i have 3 more storage boxes for the cards.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. it will most likely be in between loads of laundry.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
thanks to everyone that has checked out my latest published poems:
mom's doctor's appointment was long, like i predicted, but at least she got some clarity on what meds she should be taking and what she can stop taking. i swear, if you saw our kitchen table right now, it's like a scene out of Drugstore Cowboy.
Monday Night Raw last night was good, for the most part.
Beartown was excellent last night. i think i am going to love this show.
The Investigation was great last night.
late last night, i heard from my friend Janne Karlsson from Sweden. first time i had heard from him in over a year. i'm so happy he's not dead.

i know my "normal" life will not exist for months now, given that my mother nearly died. the home health nurse came out today. they are sending someone on Friday to get mom's pills all in order so she can't forget to take something anymore. i know the next few weeks will be hectic as fuck as i have to take her to about 4 different doctors. and somewhere in all of that, i have to find the time to sell some baseball cards, write some poetry and maintain this blog. the odds of me dying by 50 are better than ever now. good times.
WWE Elimination Chamber was pretty good last night and definitely made the road to WrestleMania a little more interesting. of course, i would love to see The Miz lose the title tonight...
Axios was very good last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
Allen v. Farrow was kind of sad last night. as someone who was molested as a child, i could feel nothing but pain for almost the entire show.

i believe the wind chill today has been somewhere around 0 for most of the day. i haven't bothered to go outside yet. i figure when i take the trash out, i'll check for the mail. the people that mom pays to do our driveway and sidewalks must have been here before i woke up at 7:30 this morning. i'm sure they had fun judging by the piles of snow lining the driveway. and, wouldn't you know it, the next round of shit i think starts tomorrow night. oh joy.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Investigation was excellent last night.
i listened to episode 330 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Rock and Kenan.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Devils. the Devils haven't played since the end of January, so i'm hoping the Rangers jump on them early and end their losing streak.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Rhode Island. i'm hoping Dayton shows up tonight and actually competes. too many times this season they haven't, especially on the road.
i will be on here tomorrow after i get everything done. i have to go to the bank and deposit a check and get the grocery shopping done. and i would love to have that all done before the snow comes in the late afternoon. now, the problem is going to be every other motherfucker around here will be doing the same thing. so, i'm fully expecting a fucking zoo tomorrow. good times.
thanks to everyone that checked out my latest published poem:
it certainly has snowed. and snowed some more. and is now snowing more. oh joy. i laughed when they shoveled our driveway this morning. they'll be back here tomorrow afternoon when all this shit ends to do it again. i think we might get close to 9 inches of snow when this is all done. the way the wind is blowing, it might as well be a fucking blizzard. good times.
NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day was fucking great last night. every match was really good or as close to perfect as humanly possible. and then to close the show with Adam Cole turning heel again and destroying Finn Balor and Kyle O'Reilly... i'm so fucking happy to see what happens next.
Axios was very good last night.

i didn't get to bed until 4 this morning. so, of course, i was up again at 9 AM. thankfully, i did fall asleep this afternoon while watching some soccer. i think my brain is trained that certain British voices just put me to sleep.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i get the feeling it's going to be one of those days that no one will actually want to be outside. and of course, that means i will have to get everything done on Wednesday (bank, grocery shopping, etc.) because there is another storm coming on Thursday. fuck, it feels like we haven't had this kind of winter in over a decade now.
thanks to everyone that checked out my latest published poem:
so, i woke up this morning to the news of the death of Mary Wilson. i grew up with plenty of Motown songs being played around me, so i was immediately flooded in my mind with songs from The Supremes. rest in peace to one amazing voice.
and now comes the news of Marty Schottenheimer's death yesterday as well.
the New York Rangers lost last night to the Islanders, 2-0. for some reason, they can't score on Varlamov this season. oh well.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Investigation was really good last night.

Manchester United plays West Ham today at home in the FA Cup. i really hope United advances today.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. of course, that all depends on the weather. we got a couple inches of snow overnight. go 15 miles south of here, they got almost a foot of snow. good times.
here are your links for this day of Black History Month:
i wanted to make sure i made it to the bank today before the next round of snow comes. in a conversation this weekend, i brought it up to my mom that i didn't say shit when she didn't give me a card with a check in it for my birthday. the look on her face was priceless. she couldn't believe that she completely forgot to do that. so, she gave me a check yesterday with a late fee on it. that made me laugh. so, i deposited that today at the bank. we're supposed to get 1 to 3 inches of snow tonight. joy.
here's what the chimes on my back porch look like:
so, Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl last night over the Chiefs, 31-9. the game was boring for the most part. the majority of the commercials were ok. i thought the halftime was good. but, honestly, the last thing i wanted to see was a happy Tom Brady.

so, i spent this Groundhog's Day going to the bank to make a deposit and then going to Big Lots to see if they had any baseball cards. i had a 20% off coupon.
i got 4 packs of baseball cards. i found 2 short prints in the 2020 Topps Heritage packs i got. those are worth what i paid for all 4 packs. so, that made me happy.
i guess the groundhog saw his shadow so we have six more weeks of winter. who gives a shit.
