so, as i was finishing up the blog yesterday, some kind of miracle was taking place. i wanted to wait to write about it as i knew i couldn't do it justice at the end of yesterday's blog.
Manchester United was trailing Manchester City 1-0 until the 88th minute. Amad got tackled in the box and it was an obvious penalty. Bruno stepped up and scored to make it 1-1. less than 2 minutes later, Amad made a great run behind and Lisandro Martinez made a great pass. a little flick from Amad to go around the keeper and some more foolish defending from City and it was 2-1 United. they held on win the derby and the town is now red again. given that the day started with Rashford and Garnacho being told to stay home, this will go down as the day Ruben Amorim truly made his marker as the next great Manchester United coach. i'm really hoping this will galvanize the club and the march up the table will now begin.
the New York Rangers lost at St. Louis last night, 3-2.
i did watch Joker: Folie a Deux last night. i thought it was better than what most people thought, but clearly a fever dream in an acid trip with some music. parts of it i really liked and parts of it i was basically falling asleep. let's just say, i didn't keep it on the DVR.
The Agency was excellent last night.
Dexter: Original Sin was good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and the series finale of What We Do in the Shadows.
there are two NFL games tonight. i doubt i watch much of either.
i did make a trip to the bank today to make a deposit.
it has been raining all day it seems. i did get a nice long nap in this morning with some ice on my back.
the New Orleans Saints lost at home to Washington yesterday, 20-19. at least the Saints made it interesting late.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i'm still waiting on 2 gifts for my mother to show up. at least i know both are in the United States, so that's a good sign.
and i think the stuff i sent in the mail actually got to where it was supposed to go today.
i did get 3 Christmas cards in the mail today. that was unexpected.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
until then kids...

i think it rained most of the night. it has rained most of the morning as well. and i am miserable, and that was even before Manchester United lost this morning.
Manchester United lost at West Ham 2-0 this morning. that is 4 straight games United haven't scored a goal. fuck me.
the contractor was here on time, as usual. he had the new vent hood in and running in probably a hour. he cleaned up, took the old one with him and for the most part, the kitchen renovation is done. thank god.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Edmonton, 4-3. they play tonight at home against Buffalo.

i will probably watch a ton of college and pro football today.
i do need to wrap my mother's gifts today. i will probably do that after i get this done.
and i suppose most of today, i will be in my massage chair, aching, hoping my bets are doing well, icing my back and deciding should i waste more money on Powerball tickets.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. and i hope the weather is better wherever you are.

as i was taking a shower last night at 3:30 AM after shaving, i was trying to come up with something resembling a poem. and the more i tried, the more i realized i had nothing. this might be my first case of writer's block in years. i guess one of these nights it will be time for a little jack daniels and a trip down memory lane to rattle the cages once again.
today has been a busy one for me. i might have got almost 3 hours of sleep last night. i woke up this morning and made some coffee. after checking my emails, i started on breakfast. i told mom i was doing biscuits and gravy as i know she can only have so much of it to fit into her sodium restrictions. and i remembered how she told me about the cold biscuits and gravy she got at the nursing home. she told me after her first bite how much better this was than there. she just got delivered her food for her recovery. it was supposed to come yesterday. i'm happy that it did arrive. even happier i was able to fit the shit in the freezer. now, after i get this done, i need to vacuum the house, make dinner (pork chops, glazed apples and mashed potatoes) and then help mom pay her bills, on time this time.
the New York Rangers played like shit last night and lost at home to Chicago, 5-2. i'm not sure why they fucking suck at home this season.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.
i wasn't surprised when Ohio State made the college football playoffs. i figured once USC lost to Utah, the Buckeyes were going to get the #4 seed. they will take on Georgia in the playoffs.
today at the World Cup, France defeated Poland, 3-1. England beat Senegal, 3-0. France vs. England should be a classic when they face each other in the quarterfinals.

so, i was supposed to take mom to physical therapy today. after that, she was going to get her bloodwork done. i made that appointment late last night. while she was getting ready this morning, she started feeling sick. and then she had a hard time standing up, even with her walker. so, i had to cancel all the appointments and i gave her a cold washcloth and told her to go to sleep. i'm trying to figure out if it was her rushing this morning that got her sick or was it all she tried to do yesterday and that made her sick today. good times. and now throw in some medical shit with my sister and you can imagine my stress level today.
the Dayton Flyers defeated Virginia Tech yesterday, 62-57. i loved the way Dayton played defense yesterday and when they can actually make shots, they could compete with just about anyone in the country. that being said, they have already proven they can lose to anyone in the country as well. but, this was a huge victory for them.
the New Orleans Saints defeated the New York Jets yesterday, 30-9. i'm so happy that fucking losing streak is over now.
the New York Rangers lost to Nashville last night, 1-0. just one of those games where the goalie steals one.
Axios was good last night.
the season finale of Succession was amazing last night.

Manchester United was supposed to play tomorrow afternoon, but that game has been postponed since United are going through a COVID outbreak at the moment. i did see the Champions League fiasco this morning. United got the better draw the second time around.

so, i spent this Groundhog's Day going to the bank to make a deposit and then going to Big Lots to see if they had any baseball cards. i had a 20% off coupon.
i got 4 packs of baseball cards. i found 2 short prints in the 2020 Topps Heritage packs i got. those are worth what i paid for all 4 packs. so, that made me happy.
i guess the groundhog saw his shadow so we have six more weeks of winter. who gives a shit.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Investigation was awesome last night.
the New York Rangers came from behind last night and beat Pittsburgh, 3-1. addition by subtraction worked last night.

i got home today in time to watch Manchester United play. they absolutely destroyed Southampton today, 9-0. that was a joy to watch.

so, last night i got all my Christmas cards done. they got mailed out today. so, if you are one of the lucky ones, you should have something in your mailbox soon. i made a deposit at the bank today and had all the shopping done by 2 this afternoon.
i found some baseball cards at Rite-Aid today. it was the first time i had ever seen the 2020 Topps Update pack there. i got that and another box from Fairfield. the best card in the Fairfield box was a 1989 Donruss Craig Biggio rookie card. as for the Topps pack, there were a few rookies in there that are worth more than what i paid for the pack. so, i was pretty pleased with it.
the Dayton Flyers got off to hot starts in the first and second half against Eastern Illinois last night. sadly, when they went to their bench, all that momentum went away. thankfully, Dayton did win the game, 66-63. they will have to play much better to win this Saturday against SMU.
most of who i wanted to advance last night on The Voice did. sadly, once again, whenever America votes for the instant save, they usually get it wrong. and once again last night, they did. Payge absolutely should have moved on instead of Bailey Rae, but, the country mafia always gets its way.
so, i watched most of the Manchester United game today against PSG. i'm still shaking my head wondering how United fucked this up. they had tons of chances but were never clinical enough like you need to be in the Champions League. and why the fuck wasn't Fred, who already had a yellow card, not taken off at halftime? of course, you know he got his second yellow in the second half. United lost 3-1 and will now have to win their last game in the group stage to advance into the knockout rounds. fuck me.

night 2 of WrestleMania 36 was better than night 1 was. and as much as i loved the Boneyard match on night 1, The Firefly Fun House match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt was beyond fucking brilliant. for every wrestling fan around my age, if you weren't laughing from all the references and the shots taken at the business, please stop watching. kudos to WWE for pulling off an event that was way better than i think anyone ever thought they could do given the circumstances.
Atlanta's Missing and Murdered:The Lost Children was really good last night. i know a little about the story already, so i'm really hoping the documentary will fill in the blanks over the next few weeks.
Westworld was excellent last night.

205 Live showed some of the best matches from the show this year last night. next week will be more of the same.

i'll probably watch some other college basketball and football games, as well as the NFL games today.
i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i imagine it will be after Manchester United plays. here is a preview of that:

yesterday was one of those days where i had such a wide swing of emotions that i was fucking spent before midnight. thank god the alcohol helped.
i'm not quite sure my sister understands how easily she pisses me off sometimes. i handed her my two broadsides yesterday and jokingly told her that will be $5. she looked at me and said, i'm trying to buy a house, i don't have $5 to spare. i said ok, just pay me whenever, it's cool. so, a couple hours later when i saw my sister left the broadsides behind, that was like a punch to the gut. i'm not exactly sure why i should have a positive outlook on life when even my own fucking family couldn't give two shits about what i do. that left me for most of the afternoon just sitting in the dark in my room, wondering why the fuck do i even bother?
the New York Yankees actually pulled a victory out of the jaws of defeat yesterday. 4-1 win in 16 fucking innings. this time, it was Boston's bullpen that shit the bed. the Yankees tied the game at 1 in the top of the 9th and then finally scored again in the top of the 16th. they play a doubleheader today. i can't imagine either team having much energy at all.
when team USA missed two penalty kicks last night, i was fucking furious. they needed to win by 3 goals over Nicaragua or they were going to finish second in the group and have to play Costa Rica in the quarterfinals. amazingly, they scored in the 88th minute to win the game 3-0. this team can't do anything easy to save its' fucking life.
Manchester United scored early and often last night in a victory over LA Galaxy 5-2. that's a good start for their preseason tour. they next play on Monday.
i only had 2 of the 3 victory drinks last night. figured i'd carry one over to today.
ROH was excellent last night.

nearly all the teams ahead of Manchester United dropped points yesterday, so today was the day United could actually gain some ground with a big win. so, instead of playing with urgency right from the start, the boys took their sweet ass time to get going. i don't believe they had a shot on goal until 35 minutes into the game. now, the second half was a different story. United got robbed a few times with really good saves, got a little unlucky with the whistle, and honestly... anytime you play down to a team like Hull City, last in the fucking league, you probably get exactly what you deserve. instead of burying their damn chances, United is always more focused on doing something spectacular. too bad spectacular doesn't fucking win you games.
the New York Rangers missed some wide open chances last nights and before you knew it, Columbus was up 6-0. the Rangers scored 4 straight goals in the 3rd period to make the score look good, but it's not a good sign when they constantly dig themselves into these fucking holes.
thankfully, the Dayton Flyers had a pretty good second half last night and used their experience to win at Fordham 75-66. congrats to Kendall Pollard on making the 1,000 points club. Dayton next plays on Saturday at home against Duquesne.
i thought Smackdown was pretty good last night. i guess the plan is for Cena to lose the title in 2 weeks. as long as he never wins it again, i'm good with that.
205 Live was really good last night. i love that Akira Tozawa finally was on the show.
Taboo was great last night. really dark, really bloody, fucking insane... i loved it.

i really have no clue why it took my uncle's family so god damn long to get him into hospice. was it that they were too fucking naive about cancer and death? were they so fucking selfish that they had to have him at home? it never made any damn sense to me, but it was never my place to say anything. so my uncle went to hospice yesterday. they cleaned him up and 10 minutes later he was dead. i figured his goal was to make it to Christmas and since he achieved that, it shouldn't be too long... the service is on Wednesday. i'm not looking forward to it. my uncle died without ever knowing what one his daughters did to me. now, i put that on my mother since she chose to not tell anyone about it. so, there's an ocean of feelings for me going into this one. i respected my mother's wishes of not telling him myself, but now i get to spend a funeral where the cousin that molested me will be just a few feet away. the stages of grief, they are all fucked up for me. i went a quarter century not being around my uncle, always thinking that my mother and father had told him why. and then to think that we moved next door to him so he could live out his final days around his sister. i have no fucking clue if we are staying here or not now. i was thinking in the car today that there's probably only 5% of me that's left that doesn't want to die. i have no fucking clue how much longer i can live for that 5%. and i know damn well Wednesday is going to be a shit show where i'm supposed to have a brave face on and not embarrass anyone or make a scene. it's not easy for me to swallow everything that has happened to me and pretend it never fucking existed in the first place. it's even harder when you know the people that are supposed to love you simply don't give a shit. and to think all i ever really wanted was for someone to say i'm sorry. nearly 35 years later, i doubt sorry fucking cuts it now. and when i've exhausted the poems about it, where the fuck do i go from there? so yeah, the funeral will be on Wednesday. i'll be highly medicated. http://www.gilbert-fellers.com/notices/Donald-Holland
i thought The Golden Globes was pretty good last night. being a very liberal person, i enjoyed all the shots at the incoming king. i would say president, but i know better. i was really happy for Donald Glover. i thought Atlanta was a really amazing show. the two awards last night proved it.
The Affair was a bit of a holy fuck episode last night.

i did write 7 poems today, shocker. i certainly wasn't in the mood to type them up. maybe i'll do that later tonight.
i went to the grocery store this afternoon, mostly just to get out of the damn house. for most of the time i was in the store, i was sort of like a zombie. but then i happened to turn up an aisle and be behind this beautiful black woman wearing tight sweatpants. something about watching as ass shake that snaps you right out of being a zombie. yes, the poem is already written.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. and i will probably have some more poems written and all of them typed up (hopefully).
