so, i got up early this morning so i could watch the Manchester United game. they lost to Crystal Palace at home, 2-0. besides that, they probably also lost Lisandro Martinez to a really bad injury as he was carted off the field in tears. fuck me.
i plucked an ingrown hair off of my face a few minutes ago. i just now got the bleeding to stop. i swear, one fucking thing after another.
here are your links for today for this day of Black History Month:
the Royal Rumble last night was excellent. i was legitimately shocked when Jey Uso won the men's Royal Rumble. i didn't think the WWE would have the balls to have him beat John Cena at the end. and to be honest, this is exactly how i want Cena to go out. lose every match he has in his retirement tour. that's the best way for him to pass the torch to the next generation. Charlotte winning the women's Royal Rumble made plenty of sense. it was so cool to see Alexa Bliss back. all in all, it was an excellent start on the road to WrestleMania.
AEW Collision was ok last night.
Austin City Limits was really good last night.
the New York Rangers lost yesterday at Boston, 6-3. J.T. Miller scored 2 goals in his return to the team. hopefully, the boys will win tonight at home against Las Vegas.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Dexter: Original Sin. i will probably be watching the 2025 Grammys for most of the evening.
mom and i had a little talk last night about my concerns with her. i don't like that she can't remember how she fell yesterday. in my mind at least, that has to be yet another sleepwalking episode. i told her last night that with how things are now, i don't see her making it through this year.
there was a massive NBA trade last night. and by massive, i mean shocking as fuck.
not sure what i'm going to do this afternoon other than vacuuming the house once mom wakes up.
i should be on here in the afternoon on Monday most likely.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

so, the ones that believe in the groundhog, believe there will be an early spring. great.
i made it back from the bank yesterday in time to watch the Manchester United game. that match took a few years off of my life. but, in the end, hopefully it was worth it. United won 4-3 when Kobbie Mainoo scored in the 97th minute. this kid is 19 years old and oozes fucking class. if it all works out for him, he will be one of the best midfielders in the world in a few years or less.

my back has been killing me here lately. but, i did get some poems written late last night. of course, that has meant that i haven't done shit today. it never fails honestly. these winter blues constantly kick my ass and all the tricks i have learned over the years to combat them don't work anymore. but, the poems were really good. i will hopefully get some submissions out soon.
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon and NJPW.
the New York Knicks play tonight at home against Miami.
i didn't have a good night gambling last night. way too many upsets i didn't see coming. hopefully, i will win some of that money back tonight.
i need to go to to the post office tomorrow and i think i will need to go to Meijer to get some stuff for mom. i should be on here after i get back home.

the New York Rangers won last night over Florida, 5-2. that might be my favorite win of the season so far...
NXT was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW Dynamite, Batwoman, I Can See Your Voice and Celebrity Big Brother.
the USMNT plays a MUST win game tonight against Honduras. the game is in Minnesota, so that should be colder than fuck. hopefully, that works to the USA's advantage.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at VCU. i'd love to see Dayton find a way to win tonight, but i won't be holding my breath expecting one.
so, by this time tomorrow it should be snowing like the world is ending. i am pretty damn sure i don't have to go out for anything tomorrow, except for the paper and mail. and quite frankly, if it is really bad, that shit can wait until Friday.
i did cancel my eye doctor's appointment for Friday. i made it for 2 weeks later. i'm really hoping the weather is better then.
i did write a poem today about the guy across the street that killed himself 6 days before Christmas. i'm hoping i write a few more in the next few days, enough to get some submissions out at least.

so, i spent this Groundhog's Day going to the bank to make a deposit and then going to Big Lots to see if they had any baseball cards. i had a 20% off coupon.
i got 4 packs of baseball cards. i found 2 short prints in the 2020 Topps Heritage packs i got. those are worth what i paid for all 4 packs. so, that made me happy.
i guess the groundhog saw his shadow so we have six more weeks of winter. who gives a shit.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
The Investigation was awesome last night.
the New York Rangers came from behind last night and beat Pittsburgh, 3-1. addition by subtraction worked last night.

i got home today in time to watch Manchester United play. they absolutely destroyed Southampton today, 9-0. that was a joy to watch.
i got the trash and everything done while the sun was still out. our driveway is a mixture of ice and snow at the moment, so i wanted to actually be able to see what i was walking on.

so add my left knee to my current aches and pains. it locked up while i was walking in the parking lot last night after the basketball game and has been barking ever since. joy.
Manchester United played a toothless 0-0 draw yesterday at home against Wolves. fuck me, this team is so fucking frustrating to watch anymore.
the Dayton Flyers defeated Fordham yesterday, 70-56. 20 wins by the first of February. that's only the second time EVER Dayton has done that.
the New York Rangers won in Detroit last night, 1-0. it was The King's first shutout since 2017.

i really wanted to go to the basketball game today. i got up when i wanted to. and then, i got out of bed. my left knee seized on me. that felt great. i looked outside and we had an incredible dense fog going on. oh great, all the moisture has got my arthritis jumping for joy. needless to say, since i haven't even made it into the shower yet, i won't be going to the game today. great.
so i guess the groundhog didn't see his shadow. so an early spring if you believe in such bullshit.
Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be ROH, Austin City Limits, Celebrity Big Brother and the Foo Fighters Super Saturday Night concert. i'll watch WWE Worlds Collide sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the Dayton Flyers play today at home against Duquesne. both teams are tied for third place in the A10, just one game out of first place. thankfully, the game is on television today.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa Bay. i'm definitely not expecting them to win tonight.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.
hopefully i will feel better by later today. i'd love to go out and actually get a damn haircut.

before i get into the fucking zoo that was the grocery store today, a little poetry news to pass on...
i heard back from Shot Glass Journal on my poetry submission from back in September of 2017. they decided to pass on the poems. oh well. that gives me 5 more to choose from for my first submissions this month. i do have a couple places in mind. i wouldn't be shocked if the first batch goes out this weekend.
i do feel much better. i was actually able to sleep a couple hours in my own bed last night. i'm still taking the over the counter shit though. mom is now sick and i don't want her to get me sick again.
the New York Rangers lost last night 4-0 to Toronto. god, i really hope they blow this team up and get younger and have some draft picks for next season.
The Big Bang Theory was really good last night.
Young Sheldon was hilarious last night.
Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.
Life in Pieces was very good last night.
Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.

of course, if i'm not, the Dayton Flyers will have a chance to piss me off even more...
the grocery store was fucking packed today. i should have known, given there is a chance of snow over the weekend and the fucking Super Bowl is coming up on Sunday. i was amazed at how much chicken was already gone by the time i got there. thankfully, i did get plenty of food for mom and i for the Super Bowl. hopefully my white blood cells are feeling better. i did try to avoid most of the coughing motherfuckers in the store. i only coughed once the entire time i was there. considering i had a snot rocket over a foot long before i left the house, i was pleased that i only coughed once. hopefully i fully kick this damn cold this weekend.
that's all for me kids. i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i saw this woman at the grocery store today in black sweatpants and some fuzzy slippers. i was tempted to say something, but i was in one of those moods where i was just as likely to fucking lose my shit as saying hello. between my insurance, my doctor and the fucking pharmacy, today was one of those days i'm tempted to go load a gun and thin the herd.
i used my last test strip this morning. my insurance company will only allow a certain number of strips. so, 2 calls later to my doctor, he changed it to me testing twice a day, so i could get more strips. so, 2 more calls to the pharmacy and finally they filled the prescription. of course, they first got the info 3 days ago. the joy of being crazy is knowing that one day, i will thin the herd.
i did a little poetry work today. i think i'm planning on sending to 6 or 7 places tomorrow. if not tomorrow, probably early next week. but, i would like to get some poems out before the weekend. think long, think wrong.
NXT was pretty good last night. Tyler Bate made his NXT debut. 19 years old and the future of the business.

so i was up at 6 in the morning because i knew i had to drive my mother around this morning. of course, little did i know that driving wasn't going to happen until 10 AM. as i watched the storm coverage on television, i more less braced for a shitty day. and other than a few hours, that is exactly what i got.
the drive to the lawyer's office is a long one. but, the papers mom had to sign will greatly help her taxes, so i didn't mind making the drive. after the drive, we went out to a late breakfast / early lunch. i had a coupon for 22% off at a place, so of course we went there. it was a little crowded, but ok. i should have ordered some coffee as that might have helped me. i couldn't find a comfortable spot for my left hip at all. i realize i'm going to have to really up my pain tolerance and quickly.
after we got home, i took a nap before Manchester United played this afternoon. i figured i would need the sleep.
well, well, well, where the fuck has this Manchester United team been all season? scoring in the first half? holy shit, i thought they forgot how to do that. 3 goals in a game? yet another holy shit. feels like it has been ages since i have seen them play like this. goals from Lingard, Martial and Rooney in a very clean and efficient 3-0 win over Stoke.
i just got done watching the New York Rangers piss away 2 leads and lose at New Jersey 3-2. so much for my fucking good mood.
The X-Files were pretty good last night.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good as well. i really enjoyed Owens vs. Ziggler and just how crazy Dean Ambrose really is. plus, i think they are doing a good job putting over AJ Styles.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight is Total Divas and The Muppets. hopefully both of them recorded without any problems. it's raining pretty heavy here.
i got my test results back from my blood work. all the numbers were better than the last time. i just don't know if they were improved enough that he'll take me off of the pill he's had me one for the last couple of months. i'll find that out on Monday i suppose.
that's all for me kids. the hip is bothering me and i need to go angrily drink after a Rangers loss. thank you Manchester United for giving me this chance to vent.
i hope this finds everyone well. i guess the groundhog said we're going to have an early spring. it's 50 in February and we're having a thunderstorm. an early spring? no shit.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
as i watched the Seahawks give away the Super Bowl last night, i immediately knew what the next week or so of sports talk radio was going to be about. part of me is happy the Patriots won. one, cheaters teach these fools another lesson in life. two, my mother is a Jets fan, so she was beyond pissed. three, Seattle has knocked my Saints out of the playoffs enough that a good part of me enjoyed their loss.
i thought Katy Perry was good at halftime. i thought Missy Elliott was better. and i guess Lenny Kravitz was there because he can play guitar.
the commercials this year mostly sucked. the dad commercials reminded me of how shitty my dad is/was. a few of them did make me laugh. but, if i had to give them a grade on the whole, it would be a C- or so.
but, thankfully Jimmy Fallon was there to save the day. this was probably the best thing i watched on television all of yesterday:
earlier in the day, the Dayton Flyers did something they haven't done this century. they scored over 100 points for the first time since 1999. the 101-77 beatdown of Fordham was a pleasant sight to see. i was sort of happy we didn't go to the game as both mom and i were cranky as hell with our bodies aching. but, the victory beer helped me some. keep in mind that Dayton only got 3 points from their bench yesterday. here are some highlights from the game:
the Showtime shows were pretty damn good last night. Shameless was great but reminded me of just how few great relationships i've had in my life. House of Lies was pretty funny. Episodes was better than the previous week once again.
we didn't get any of the shit weather they were warning us about over the weekend. figures, i cancelled all my plans and sure enough. today has been nothing but cold sunshine.
tonight is the usual Monday night clusterfuck. the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Florida. one hour later, i'll be bouncing back and forth between Gotham, Men in Blazers, and Monday Night Raw. i'm counting down the days until that DVR arrives and i'm in the new house.
i will be on here tomorrow after Manchester United hopefully advances in the FA Cup. if they don't win, be prepared for some asshole to just unload some frustration.
i hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
