on the eve of something...

yesterday went about as well as it could have. let me start back at where we left off.

Ohio State defeated Penn State yesterday, 44-31. once again, the defense really played great yesterday and the offense showed up late and the avalanche points came in the 4th quarter.

the New York Rangers ended their losing streak yesterday and won at Dallas, 6-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight at the Coyotes.

i did go to the Dayton Flyers college basketball game last night against Capital. Dayton won pretty easily, 80-42.

The Caverns Sessions last night were excellent. mom had never seen Gangstagrass perform before.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Let The Right One In, The White Lotus and Last Week Tonight.

Manchester United plays at home in a little bit against West Ham.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against the Raiders. i'm guessing this game will be a shootout.

i do plan on watching some of the MLS Conference Finals today.

the New York Knicks play tonight in Cleveland. i might watch a little of that.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

is it the weekend already?

it was one of those nights where i could never get comfortable in bed. between the phantom pains in my left leg from a blood clot years ago to a pinched nerve in my neck that i thought was getting better... i couldn't find a spot to sleep for anything. sometime around 5 AM, exhaustion took over my body. of course, i saw the clock at 6 and then 7 and then at 9:30, i said fuck it. and then i somehow managed to strain my Achilles tendon while standing up. as i told my mother, it is the official sign i am getting old, falling apart and the dirt will be coming soon. she laughed as she knows i won't be dead anytime soon. of course, the same thing goes for her as well.

the Yankees lost last night to the Reds, 7-6, in 10 innings. they start a series tonight at home against the Red Sox. hopefully they will clean up the mistakes and actually play good baseball again before the All Star break.

the USWNT defeated Costa Rica last night, 3-0. they will play Canada in the finals of the CONCACAF women's championship on Monday.

Big Brother was interesting last night. Paloma left the game because of her anxiety getting the best of her. i want to believe that, but the cynical fuck in me thinks this is her cover for the racist shit she started against Taylor. so, no one got "evicted" last night. Jasmine is the new HOH.

The Old Man was fucking great last night. the season finale is next week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

Manchester United won 4-1 today in Australia. and better yet, Christian Eriksen is finally a red.

the New York Rangers signed their first draft pick already. i really like this kid.

i should be on here tomorrow after i go to the bank and probably do some other Saturday morning shopping.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

happy birthday to my mother...

so, i made my mother breakfast this morning. i was happy that she felt like eating. that is different from most mornings. she enjoyed the coffee cup and Marvin the Martian t-shirt i got her for her birthday. now, i'm hoping she can get through physical therapy without too many problems. fingers are crossed.

the New York Yankees won last night over Tampa, 4-3. they will go for the sweep tonight.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final was very entertaining. Colorado won in OT, 4-3.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, two episodes of The Old Man and Desus & Mero. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

Game 6 of the NBA Finals is tonight. i will probably watch some of that.

i should be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank and to Meijer.

it looks like the heat is going to finally break this weekend. i can't wait for that.

so, it has rained all damn day...

nothing quite like having your arthritis jumping for joy as you are trying to do your laundry, help your mother, bring in trash cans for the neighbor, etc. and the fun part isn't even fucking here yet. all this rain is going to turn to ice and then turn to 5 to maybe 10 inches of snow. well, fuck me runnin'...

the New York Rangers won last night over Florida, 5-2. that might be my favorite win of the season so far...

NXT was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW Dynamite, Batwoman, I Can See Your Voice and Celebrity Big Brother.

the USMNT plays a MUST win game tonight against Honduras. the game is in Minnesota, so that should be colder than fuck. hopefully, that works to the USA's advantage.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at VCU. i'd love to see Dayton find a way to win tonight, but i won't be holding my breath expecting one.

so, by this time tomorrow it should be snowing like the world is ending. i am pretty damn sure i don't have to go out for anything tomorrow, except for the paper and mail. and quite frankly, if it is really bad, that shit can wait until Friday.

i did cancel my eye doctor's appointment for Friday. i made it for 2 weeks later. i'm really hoping the weather is better then.

i did write a poem today about the guy across the street that killed himself 6 days before Christmas. i'm hoping i write a few more in the next few days, enough to get some submissions out at least.

still raining...

i'm hoping that most of the heavy rain is over for today. i don't want to be aching all day long...

so, Ohio State got outplayed and outcoached yesterday, but still won over Indiana 42-35.

it's probably a good thing i wasn't able to watch Manchester United yesterday. judging from all the highlights, their 1-0 victory over West Brom was boring as fuck.

i did watch some of MLS playoffs yesterday, UFC and college football.

Between The World And Me was amazing last night. that should be required viewing for every human on earth.

Austin City Limits had The Mavericks on last night, it was very good.

ROH was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be The Undoing, Murder on Middle Beach, Belushi and Moonbase 8. i'll be watching WWE Survivor Series for most of the evening.

the New Orleans Saints play Atlanta today. i'm hoping the Saints will find a way to win with Drew Brees out.

just another rainy Sunday...

so it started raining last night and still is as of this afternoon. joy.

i've been doing my laundry most of today. i woke up to some startling news.

first off, the New Orleans Saints traded back into the 7th round yesterday of the NFL Draft to select QB Tommy Stevens. he's a bit of a Taysom Hill clone, so i can see why they did it. and then this morning, the news broke that the Saints are going to sign Jameis Winston to a 1 year contract. talk about waking up in bizarro land. he's taking less money to go to the Saints. he must have seen what the Saints did for Teddy Bridgewater. the Saints also extended Taysom Hill today. 2 years and $21 million i believe. all in all, i like what the Saints did in the draft. i like some of the undrafted free agents they have signed. hopefully, this will be the year they win that elusive second Super Bowl.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

on the DVR tonight will be Batwoman, VICE, the series finale of Homeland, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, two episodes of The Last Dance, Atlanta's Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children, Westworld and Insecure.

i wrote 3 poems last night. i really like all 3 of them. if i get a wild hair up my ass, i might try to get some more poems out before the month is over.

i'll be right back, need to go fold some clothes...

i'm back. last load of laundry is now in the dryer. that should get done before i make dinner tonight.

mom has given me the cooking duties now. so, my imagination is going to have some fun. not too much, as my mother's palate stinks. so yeah, i'm hoping to do more than just get takeout most nights.

i guess tomorrow is supposed to be the only day without rain for the next three or four. joy.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday has been even better.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then kids...

i'm an old man now i guess...

i tried sleeping in my bed last night, but the pinched nerve in my arm had different plans. so, i got 2 hours of sleep in my massage chair and maybe another 3 hours of naps so far today. joy. i heard back from the doctor's office. they told me to ice, stretch and rest my arm. i started to laugh when i read that this morning. do they honestly think i haven't been doing that shit already? i hate being the cranky old man these days, but fuck, the world won't allow anything different.

Monday Night Raw was fucking crazy last night. the last half hour or so reminded me of the genius of Paul Heyman. it was light years better than the show the week before.

Divorce was pretty funny last night. the final episode of the series airs next Monday.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown and Miz & Mrs. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Yankees start a two game series tonight at home against Arizona. hopefully, they will get a win tonight.

Manchester United won 1-0 over in Norway this afternoon.

i'll be on here early tomorrow since the Yankees play in the afternoon. tomorrow is also trade deadline day for MLB. i'm really hoping the Yankees get something that will help them win a title this season.

i have trash to pick up and more sleep to catch up on, so that's all for me kids.

happy cinco de oh what the hell was that?

i woke up this morning at halftime of the Manchester United game. they were winning 1-0, so i was tempted to not watch the game at all. but, after taking the morning piss and my blood sugar, i decided to watch the second half. silly me to think United would beat a team that has already been relegated. United hit the woodwork a couple times but ultimately couldn't get more than a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. with Chelsea's 3-0 win today, United is eliminated from having any chance to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League. joy. not sure how they are going to get players to come to a team that will play in the Europa League next season. but honestly, they need o sell off nearly all of the squad and just start the fuck over.

i wrote 3 poems last night. i'll type those up after i get this blog done.

4 years ago today. my father was put into the ground. i have never been to his grave. i have no clue if i ever will go.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to the Twins, 7-3. hopefully, they can win the series later this afternoon.

and the survey says...

so, after going to the doctor today, the verdict is i have a partially torn left calf muscle. he ordered me 10 days worth of muscle relaxers. that should help with the nerves firing off randomly. of course, as this heals, just what my left leg needs...more scar tissue. so i'm supposed to take it easy for the next 10 days. we'll see.

i wrote 10 poems yesterday while mom was in her physical therapy session. i typed them up last night and really liked a few of them. i think that brings me to 40 poems or so for the month. i'll probably have another writing session over the holiday weekend.

the New York Yankees lost last night to the Texas Rangers, 6-4. the Yankees will have a chance to win their 9th straight series later tonight.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was good last night as well.

The Voice finale was pretty good last night. i don't really care for the winner, but like i said, i wasn't surprised. i certainly wasn't surprised the two black performers finished 3rd and 4th. it is the USA in 2018 after all.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

The Chris Gethard Show was hilarious last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was fucking great.

the New York Rangers finally have a head coach.

i need to start thinking about dinner and probably some rest as well.

that's all for me kids.

happy Friday the 13th

i was up way too early this morning to go to the doctor. mom had an appointment right after me. we got there on time, thankfully. i had to get some blood drawn and a flu shot. plus, the doctor ordered some x-rays for my back and left hip. i did those this afternoon. more on that in a bit. after mom got done, we went out to breakfast at Waffle House in town. i think it has been almost a year since mom went out to eat at Waffle House. i didn't recognize our waitress, but i surely wouldn't mind seeing her again. hopefully Cassidy enjoyed the healthy tip.

after breakfast, i got home and decided to wait until all the pills would be ready from the pharmacy to go out and get my x-rays done. i'm not a big fan of making three and four trips in a day when one would suffice. so i went to the place mom always has to go for her appointments and physical therapy to get the x-rays done. the woman working the desk couldn't understand what my last name was. i eventually pointed out like the soup and it finally clicked. the x-rays were fucking painful. i hate being flat on my back. and then getting into the fetal position was fucking fun. i'll be interested to see what is wrong. the tech was stunned that i had no questions. i laughed, saying in my head, just because i look homeless doesn't mean i'm fucking stupid. from there i went to the pharmacy to pick up the pills. 4 for me and something like 10 for mom. oh fucking joy. and since mom's insurance is all screwed up because of getting terminated, i had to wait for all that to get worked out before it could be rung up correctly. $95 later, i was finally on the way home.

i figure given that it's Friday the 13th, my x-rays will probably show something fucking horrific.

or maybe that's just a wish.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Chris Gethard Show was so fucking uncomfortable last night it was great.

Better Things was really good last night.

Gotham was fucking fantastic last night.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, the season finale of Room 104 and Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus.

the New York Yankees play Game 1 of the ALCS tonight in Houston. i won't be watching as they have won 3 straight with me not watching. i have a feeling that streak may end tonight as they have had hardly any success ever against Houston's starter tonight. hopefully i'm wrong.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Columbus. i don't know if i'll watch any of that or not. maybe if the Rangers actually score before Columbus does tonight, i might. of course, i thought that the last game as well and the Rangers gave up a goal 15 seconds in.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays those fucking cunts from Liverpool. i will either be in a great mood or be ready for an endless display of i didn't know that curse word worked real well there.

i hope everyone has a great fucking weekend. get stoned. get drunk. enjoy life before that fucker in the White House kills us all.
