i believe the rain has finally stopped. we had a 1/2 inch of rain. it felt like we had a foot of rain. good times.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

it has basically rained all fucking day. these are the days where i wish i had a morphine drip installed in my room. fuck me.
so, i did go out today. Big Lots had nothing that i was looking for. the only thing i got accomplished with that drive was the rain at least washed the Highlander. i then had go to Rite Aid to get more gauze pads and adhesive wraps for my mother. her cuts aren't healing as fast as she would like. i remind her that that isn't how it works in old age. i did get some football cards while i was there. this box wasn't as good as the last one i got, but still had more worth in it than what i paid for it.
i did watch the ending of the NFL game last night between the Packers and Cardinals. holy shit, that was nuts.
so, after a quick 3 1/2 hours of sleep, i was up this morning to watch Manchester United play. just one of those fucking days where nothing could go right. and when that happens, i always worry about the old smash and grab victories from the away teams. sure enough, Aston Villa scored late to go up 1-0. it didn't help that United had to use two of their subs on defenders as Luke Shaw and Harry Maquire both got injured in the game. now comes the punch to the dick. United actually gets a penalty after Villa got caught with a handball in the box. and because this just has to be a day of shit, Bruno steps up and misses the pk. fuck me. so yeah, there's a 1-0 loss that could be the start of a shit week for United. good times.
30 years ago i remember buying Nevermind by Nirvana at the Salem Mall. hell, that mall doesn't even exist anymore. it was one of the albums that influenced me more than anything else in this world. and i happened to get it right as poetry was slowly taking over my life. i can remember the lyrics to those songs to this day. and i'm pretty sure Kurt Cobain influenced my writing just as much as Bukowski and Burroughs or Ginsberg did. so, today has been one of those nostalgia mind fucks and a sad reminder that Kurt isn't here to see this.
so, the storms came back last night and sure enough, we got nothing. oh well.
mom's doctor's appointment went well yesterday. he did lower some of the drugs she is on. that made me happy. after the appointment, we decided to go to Fricker's for lunch. we haven't been at this place for over a year. the food was still good.
so, i did watch some of the Hell is Real game last night, Columbus vs. Cincinnati in the MLS. Columbus came from behind to win 3-2. it was a crazy game.
welcome to the weekend boys and girls. hard to believe August is almost over.
the Yankees blew a 6-0 lead last night, but still found a way to win, 7-6, over Oakland. that's 12 wins in a row, their longest winning streak since 1961. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
i swear, anytime i have sat back in my massage chair today, i have gone to sleep. i guess i'm tired or something. i can't imagine why...
so, the Yankees won yesterday down in Miami over the Marlins, 3-1. Anthony Rizzo launched his first homer as a Yankee in his first game. he'll fit right in. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
today is the trade deadline day in the MLB. so, i'm typing this up with one eye on the TV and my phone to see if the Yankees make any moves, especially after they shocked me yesterday by getting Anthony Rizzo from the Cubs. no one saw that coming.
so, let's start with the Yankees game yesterday. they lost to the Rays, 14-0. i turned the damn game off in the first inning. not good. the Yankees start a series tonight down in Miami. oh great, National League rules again.
so, mom decided she wanted to have a cheat meal on her low sodium diet last night. so, i ordered some pizza and wings from Pizza Hut last night. i get the feeling we're both going to be paying for that the rest of the weekend.
the Yankees lost last night to the Red Sox, 5-3. i'm pretty fucking annoyed that they haven't beat Boston yet this season. hopefully, tonight will be different.
today has been gloomy as fuck. i don't think the sun has even bothered to fucking show itself yet. it has felt like, especially in my bad back, that it has been raining all day long. i haven't watered the tomatoes, hoping it would fucking rain at some point. these are the days where i wish i had just a little heroin to take the edge off.
the landscapers did a good job yesterday, other than putting the welcome sign in backwards. thankfully, their boss came out this morning and mom told him she wasn't going to pay him until he fixed it. he looked stunned at first and then saw what she was talking about. hopefully, we won't have the problem with weeds anymore in that bed.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
of course, it had to be rainy today. i had to go out and get money out of the ATM for mom. i figured while i was down there, i would look for some baseball cards. of course, there was none. i had to go to Kroger to get her one prescription and what she forgot to put on the grocery list. and of course, by the time i got back home, the rain was ending. fuck me.
the Yankees spilt their doubleheader yesterday against Toronto. they lost the first game 2-0 and won the second game, 5-3. they start a series tonight in Detroit.
