last day of August...

 it is another cool day here. the last one for probably a few weeks. it is supposed to get back into the 90's starting tomorrow. as i have to remind myself, we really only have two seasons anymore, hot and cold.

the Yankees won again last night in Detroit, 6-2. they go for the sweep this afternoon.

AEW Dynamite was good last night.

Big Brother was good last night. i think Jag might be evicted tonight.

i did catch a little of the MLS games last night.

 my grandmother would have been 111 years old today. i'm not sure what she would think of this world if she was still alive. i know she would probably still be smoking, looking out the kitchen window.

it did try to snow today. i know it is supposed to snow this weekend. maybe an inch or so, just enough to be a nuisance probably. this is why i never really bothered having birthday parties for the most part. never wanted to schedule something and then have people trying to get somewhere in shitty weather. good times.

i guess the interesting thing tomorrow is to see who actually remembers my birthday. i'm old enough to not expect much from humanity. i don't mind being surprised though.

 so, after a quick 3 1/2 hours of sleep, i was up this morning to watch Manchester United play. just one of those fucking days where nothing could go right. and when that happens, i always worry about the old smash and grab victories from the away teams. sure enough, Aston Villa scored late to go up 1-0. it didn't help that United had to use two of their subs on defenders as Luke Shaw and Harry Maquire both got injured in the game. now comes the punch to the dick. United actually gets a penalty after Villa got caught with a handball in the box. and because this just has to be a day of shit, Bruno steps up and misses the pk. fuck me. so yeah, there's a 1-0 loss that could be the start of a shit week for United. good times.

Ohio State plays tonight at home against Akron. their starting QB has a bum right shoulder, so the backups will be playing today. it really shouldn't matter, but i'm sure this team will play down to their opponent and make this game unnecessarily tight at the end.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of college football games today, hoping to get the stink of that fucking United loss out of my system.

i should be on here in the morning tomorrow, before the Saints play at the Patriots.
