not dead yet...

so, the Yankees actually got some decent pitching last night and the offense finally woke the fuck up. they won Game 4, 11-4. tonight, if they win Game 5, they will be the first team ever to go down 3-0 in the World Series and force a Game 6. i hope they show the same fight tonight.

Manchester United won today in the Leagues Cup at home over Leicester, 5-2. amazing, get rid of ETH and suddenly they remember how to score and have fun. they will face Tottenham in the next round.

NXT was awesome last night.

The Voice was very good last night.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Washington, 5-3.

grocery shopping went well today. i did manage to get everything and keep it under $200.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, the season finale of Grotesquerie, Abbott Elementary and Inside the NFL.

the USWNT plays Argentina tonight.

my plans currently for Halloween is to do my laundry. i doubt that changes, although i would like to write some more poems.

i need to go make dinner, so that's all for me kids.

here comes the snow...

i laughed when i saw that there is a chance for snow on Halloween. even better, by the weekend, it should back in the 60's. so, this will be the week where everyone will get fucking sick. joy.

i did take mom to her appointment with a dietician today. basically it was a two hour talk about diabetes, food, old stories about nursing, best ways to get good protein and how hard it is for me to juggle the need for protein and also the sodium restrictions that mom has.

well, let me start back at the shit show that was the Manchester derby. United basically got their asses handed to them, losing to City, 3-0. i honestly didn't watch the match once i saw the starting lineup. when you see a few names that shouldn't even be on the team in the lineup, you automatically fear for the worst. the fact that it ended up 3-0 instead of City scoring 6 or 7 goals is minor fucking miracle.

the USWNT won yesterday against Colombia, 3-0.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at the Colts, 38-27.

i did watch a few NFL games yesterday:

FC Cincinnati won Game 1 of their MLS playoff series against NY Red Bulls, 3-0.

Big Brother was good last night.

the series finale of Billions was fucking great last night.

Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

Shining Vale was hilarious last night.

Fellow Travelers was very good last night. looks like it should be a very interesting series.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Monday Night Raw.

the New York Rangers play at Winnipeg tonight. hopefully, they will keep on winning.

here are your NBA highlights from last night.

Game 3 of the World Series is tonight.

on the eve of something...

yesterday went about as well as it could have. let me start back at where we left off.

Ohio State defeated Penn State yesterday, 44-31. once again, the defense really played great yesterday and the offense showed up late and the avalanche points came in the 4th quarter.

the New York Rangers ended their losing streak yesterday and won at Dallas, 6-3. hopefully, they will win again tonight at the Coyotes.

i did go to the Dayton Flyers college basketball game last night against Capital. Dayton won pretty easily, 80-42.

The Caverns Sessions last night were excellent. mom had never seen Gangstagrass perform before.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Let The Right One In, The White Lotus and Last Week Tonight.

Manchester United plays at home in a little bit against West Ham.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against the Raiders. i'm guessing this game will be a shootout.

i do plan on watching some of the MLS Conference Finals today.

the New York Knicks play tonight in Cleveland. i might watch a little of that.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

i believe the rain has finally stopped. we had a 1/2 inch of rain. it felt like we had a foot of rain. good times.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

AEW Rampage was excellent last night.

The Shop was really good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight.

here are your highlights from the NBA last night:

the New York Rangers won last night, 4-0, over Columbus. they start another road trip Sunday in Seattle.

Manchester United plays at Tottenham today. i would love to see United win today, but i'm not counting on it.

Ohio State plays tonight at home against Penn State. hopefully, the boys whip another team tonight.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of college football today.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning, or at the very least, before the New Orleans Saints play in the afternoon.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

the eve of something...

the sun was out today, a complete 180 from yesterday. it was windy and a little cold, but a pretty nice day for this late in October.

i had to go pick up my prescription from the pharmacy today. i decided to check and see if i could find any baseball cards at Walgreens. of course, there was none. the grocery store was fucking packed. this is why i stopped getting groceries on Fridays. mom wanted a frozen Coke from Burger King. i went there on my way home. they were only taking exact change or credit cards. that's a perfect example of 2020. using a fucking credit card at a fast food place.

i did watch most of the NFL game last night. i'm still a little shocked that Atlanta didn't find a way to blow the game.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Desus & Mero was hilarious last night. the season finale is on Sunday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, The Shop and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i think the only thing i ever really got into at Halloween, other than the candy, was the evil. i love something that is really creepy and sinister. i guess i always got a better glimpse into my imagination when it got to this time of year. of course, i also remember going out trick or treating in a fucking winter coat. hard to be cool when you are layered up and can barely see. good times.

we don't give out candy anymore. that was always the thing i loved about the farm. when you live a 1/4 mile from the road, no one really wants to go up to your house when it is dark out. that made it fun. i don't really think kids should be trick or treating this year, but none of these dumb fucks around here give two shits about the virus.

i will probably be on here tomorrow late morning/early afternoon. Ohio State doesn't play until Saturday night, at Penn State. so i should have a nice big window to get a blog done and not miss much. of course, there is a freeze warning for tonight. joy.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

a rainy day and a bad back, not a good combination...

as i was in agony in the massage chair this morning, i told my mother these are the days why so many people become fucking addicts. i then started tapping my arm and asked for a lighter and a spoon. she laughed, mostly because with her fucked up back, she knows the misery. it's also why she probably won't leave me any money when she dies either.

i was in so much pain this afternoon that my body just shut down and went to sleep. of course, it doesn't help that i didn't get to bed until 4:30 this morning and woke up to a phone ringing a little before 9. joy.

the New York Rangers must have got the message from their coach last night about how will ALWAYS beats skill. they actually played a full 60 minutes last night, defeating the Lightning 4-1. now they have the blueprint on what they need to do each game for the rest of the season.

Manchester United defeated Chelsea today 2-1 in the League Cup. holy shit, that's 3 away wins in a row. i must be dreaming.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Total Divas was good last night.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night. the season finale next week should be amazing.

Mr. Mercedes was great last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT, AEW, American Horror Story, Cake and The Bronx, USA.

i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow, mostly because my physical therapy appointment is later in the afternoon and there is a shitload of wrestling on tomorrow that i want to watch. so, the morning is basically the only time i could do the blog.

Game 7 of the World Series is tonight. the road team has won every game. hopefully, that continues tonight.

it's still fucking raining, so i'm off to my massage chair for yet another session with ice packs. joy.

a day of shopping

when mom told me she wanted to go out shopping after her eye appointment today, i figured she wanted to go shopping for herself. much to my surprise, it was an early Christmas for me today. first up was Dollar Tree, where she found the plastic placemats she has been looking for and a steamer for some vegetables. i got my usual batch of cheap football and baseball cards. then, we went to Shoe Carnival. they were having a buy one get one at 50% off sale, so mom told me to go look for some new shoes. i mentioned to her that i wanted some new shoes as the shoes i had were the shoes most likely to be worn by white nationalists. i decided i needed to change that ASAP. so, i found two pairs of Skechers that i really liked. they have the memory foam in them that really helps my feet. both of those with the sale were under $100. after that, we went to Big Lots where i got some socks and some more little notebooks. all in all, not a bad day. then we went out to lunch. that was where the day turned.

we were in this place long enough to sit down, figure out what we wanted to eat; mom went to the bathroom and came back and no one had been to the table yet. mom motioned over the manager and he was very apologetic. as the manager was talking to us, our waitress came up to the table. she got our drinks and we placed our orders. the appetizer came out and about 5 minutes later, our meals came out. mom got some chicken wings and i got this pizza i like. the problem was, how the waitress was carrying the pizza, half of it ended up face down on the table. she gave me the half that was still on the platter and told me she would bring me a new one. 10 minutes later, here comes a new one, hotter than shit, and partly burnt. oh joy. when we got done, mom asked what she should do for the tip. i told her not to give her more than 10%. what a shit show.

and to top it all off, the chili from last night started to kick in on the drive home. i went a route where i could avoid most school buses. of course, there was a fucking accident on the way i wanted to go. so, i had to go about 10 minutes out of my way. thankfully, no school buses and no explosions in my stomach. i made it to the toilet and holy hell was unleashed when i got home.

Monday Night Raw was okay last night. most of the show was spent hyping the matches this Friday in Saudi Arabia. man, that's going to be fucking awkward.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night, but easily forgettable as well.

The Voice was really good last night. the knockouts are when the show really starts to get really, really good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, The Voice and Mayans M.C.

the New York Rangers play tonight at San Jose. i will probably watch some of the game, hoping for something that probably won't happen, a victory.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. with it being Halloween, i don't know what mom will want to do. i don't think we're handing out candy, and i don't think we're going to my sister's house like we did in the past. hell, maybe i'll get some writing done tomorrow, that's a concept.

i just saw that there is rain in the forecast for tomorrow. oh fucking great.

if you are giving out candy, don't be a cheap ass. those are the houses that get destroyed. always remember that.

until tomorrow kids. i have trash to go pick up.

just enough rain to be...

this is why i hate weather forecasts. today was supposed to be rain free. sure enough, it started in the morning and hasn't stopped yet. and today was the day i had to drive mom down south of town (45 minutes) to her financial planner. this was my first time meeting him.

the meeting went well. i like that he has a pretty solid plan for her 401K and her other investments. he also knows the stock market isn't going to be like this forever, so not all the eggs are in one basket. i got a much better impression of him than the one mom had been giving me over the years.

after that, we went out to a late lunch/early dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse.

the New Orleans Saints won yesterday against Chicago, 20-12. the Bears really outplayed the Saints for most of the game. so, i'm really happy the Saints held on to win. they next play Tampa Bay at home.

the season finale of Ray Donovan was pretty good last night. i'm wondering how much the show is going to change now that it's going to be filmed in NYC.

the season finale of The Deuce was excellent last night. i can't wait for the next season.

Vice Principals was pretty funny last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i will be on here in the morning tomorrow as mom wants to get up to my sister's new home before it gets dark so she can see all of it. so, that means i'll be driving while Manchester United is playing in the Champions League. joy.

with rain off in the distance

i woke up this morning with that all too common ache in my bones. i knew rain was in the area. the "experts" said there are supposed to be some showers in the afternoon. i'll probably be beyond miserable by then.

Ohio State played down to the competition yesterday and won 24-20 over Northwestern. i honestly think the offense is beyond fucking lost at this point. and you can tell the defense is at the point where they are wondering when the fuck the offense is going to do something to pick them up. they will have to be better next week if they think they are going to beat Nebraska.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night.

ROH was really good last night.

the Bill Murray: Mark Twain Prize special last night was great. and also, it is well deserved.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of The Strain, Westworld, Divorce, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, Shameless and Masters of Sex.

i'll be watching WWE Hell in a Cell for most of the evening. no matter how bad Monday Night Raw has been, this, at least on paper, has everything you need to be a great ppv.

the Sacramento Kings won last night, 106-103 over the Timberwolves. they are now 2-1 on the season. i'm hoping against hope that they can keep it up.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Tampa Bay. hopefully the boys can start a new winning streak tonight.

congratulations to my sister on passing her test this morning. she's now a step closer to getting a job she might actually enjoy.

the New Orleans Saints play at home today against Seattle. hopefully the Saints can get a victory today. i certainly could use a drink.

completely drained

when mom and i went to the grocery store today, i feared it was going to take hours. knowing that not only were we buying for ourselves, we were also buying for next door, i knew it was possible. when we walked out of the store 2 1/2 hours after we walked in, i was exhausted. i feel bad for my uncle. when i saw him today, you can definitely see that all of this shit is weighing on him. thankfully, the weather is supposed to get warmer next week. i think all he wants to do is sit on the back porch in the sun. and i said to my mother today, fuck it, why stop him. none of us are under any illusion that he's going to be here for another 10 years or so. the sad thing is my aunt is completely useless. i can't imagine she'll be around long after my uncle dies. or maybe that's just my wishful thinking.

saw a few people in the grocery store that got the creative juices running. but i chose to take a nap this afternoon instead of writing. i needed it.

thankfully, my opponents in fantasy football last night only had Miami Dolphins players, so i'm not trailing too bad going into Sunday. the Patriots killed them last night. i did pick the game right.

i also watched an incredible penalty shootout in the MLS last night.

DIRECTV pissed the living shit out of me last night. for some fucking reason our NHL package wasn't working. we were just watching it the day before. mom went online and it didn't even appear on our bill any longer. when she finally got a hold of an actual person, they couldn't explain it either. we have had so many god damn problems ever since AT&T took them over. just fucking perfect.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Undateable, NJPW and The Knick.

the New York Rangers play tonight against Toronto. i really hope the Rangers win as i could use a victory beer.

i believe the Sacramento Kings face the Lakers tonight. i suppose if i'm up late, i'll watch some of that late. my rule with NBA games is all you really need to watch is the last 5 minutes of any game, including playoffs.

i'm going the cheap way for Flashback Friday today. here's one of my YouTube videos:

i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast last night. i highly recommend it.

and tomorrow they are saying it will snow...

i tossed and turned all night long last night. i couldn't get comfortable for anything. needless to say, 4 hours of disjointed sleep did me no favors today.

i did catch some of Game 7 of the World Series last night. i'll admit, a smile did creep on my face when the Royals lost. as a Yankees fan, watching George Brett look heartbroken was a great sight to see for me. i don't forget shit, especially the rivalry of my youth between Kansas City and New York. also, winning 3 titles in 5 years is not a dynasty. it's called a good run. go to 5 World Series in 6 years and win 4 of them... that's a dynasty in baseball.

American Horror Story was fucking great last night. i'm interested to see where the show goes for next week.

tonight i will be flipping between The Big Bang Theory and LeBron James returning to Cleveland to play. of course, those are on at the same time. also on at the same time, is the New Orleans Saints game. they are at Carolina in a huge divisional matchup. i really just want to see the reaction to LeBron getting introduced. no basketball game needs to be watched until the last 5 minutes of the game. i've picked against the Saints once again. i figure if they keep winning when i pick against them, i'll gladly accept that loss each week.

found some more great music on NoiseTrade today. i'll provide the links below to some FREE music.

spent a good portion of the morning browsing on Amazon. i was trying to figure out some ideas of what to get my mother and sister for Christmas. i think i found a few good things.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. we have another hockey game in Columbus. it's supposed to be snowing on the way home from that. you can imagine how thrilled i am since i do the night driving.

that's all for me. hope you've got your candy ready and the slutty costume picked out for Halloween. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

and from the fog comes the monster...

yet another day of dense fog here. didn't really burn off until noon and it has already started creeping back in. i would understand if i lived by a body of water, but i don't. the guy who farms out here got a couple of rows of corn off last night before it started to rain. i have no clue when the rest of it will come off.

The Voice last night was really good. can't wait to the live shows. i think each team has a person that can win the show. but, the reason i think Blake has won 3 seasons in a row is the army of loyal fans he has built up. if he wins this season, i will be convinced it's simply because he has more loyal fans than the other 3 coaches.

i did watch a little of the start to the NBA season last night. i always try to watch a little of anytime LeBron plays. he's the best player on the planet right now, and quite frankly, it's not close.

i did watch more of the New York Rangers game than i thought i would. the highlights below will tell you why.

i did get a good number of the players i wanted in fantasy football. plus, it's always nice when you can plan ahead a few weeks and stash players away on your bench. hopefully i have 2 wins coming this week.

i'm looking forward to American Horror Story tonight. that should put me in the mood for Halloween.

i strongly recommend everyone check out episode 77 of the Sam Roberts Show Online. you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com, or by going down the right hand side of this blog. listen to it before you go out and potentially embarrass yourself with your Halloween costume.

that's all for today. i've got a dinner to put on and a shower to take. and i'm not exactly sure what order i'm going to do that in.

be well.

a Tuesday glued to storm coverage

i woke up this morning to the same persistent fuck me winds i went to sleep with. and some blowing snow. went out to feed the cats and it felt like it was in the teens. i get it mother nature, you're a bad motherfucker. enough already.

one thing that DIRECTV does during these major storms is take an extra channel and devote it to all local coverage of the storm. so, as you can imagine, the majority of my day has been spent watching that.

not sure how the friends i have in Queens or New Jersey are doing. i'm hoping ok. i figure when the power comes back on they will find the emails.

NBA season starts tonight. i'll try to catch some of that to take my eyes away from storm damage coverage. plus, a part of me will love seeing LeBron get his ring. i always love a good heel.

love the knockout round on The Voice. great new element to the show. should be an interesting second night. that said, the live shows can't come soon enough.

hope everyone is well.
