completely drained

when mom and i went to the grocery store today, i feared it was going to take hours. knowing that not only were we buying for ourselves, we were also buying for next door, i knew it was possible. when we walked out of the store 2 1/2 hours after we walked in, i was exhausted. i feel bad for my uncle. when i saw him today, you can definitely see that all of this shit is weighing on him. thankfully, the weather is supposed to get warmer next week. i think all he wants to do is sit on the back porch in the sun. and i said to my mother today, fuck it, why stop him. none of us are under any illusion that he's going to be here for another 10 years or so. the sad thing is my aunt is completely useless. i can't imagine she'll be around long after my uncle dies. or maybe that's just my wishful thinking.

saw a few people in the grocery store that got the creative juices running. but i chose to take a nap this afternoon instead of writing. i needed it.

thankfully, my opponents in fantasy football last night only had Miami Dolphins players, so i'm not trailing too bad going into Sunday. the Patriots killed them last night. i did pick the game right.

i also watched an incredible penalty shootout in the MLS last night.

DIRECTV pissed the living shit out of me last night. for some fucking reason our NHL package wasn't working. we were just watching it the day before. mom went online and it didn't even appear on our bill any longer. when she finally got a hold of an actual person, they couldn't explain it either. we have had so many god damn problems ever since AT&T took them over. just fucking perfect.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Undateable, NJPW and The Knick.

the New York Rangers play tonight against Toronto. i really hope the Rangers win as i could use a victory beer.

i believe the Sacramento Kings face the Lakers tonight. i suppose if i'm up late, i'll watch some of that late. my rule with NBA games is all you really need to watch is the last 5 minutes of any game, including playoffs.

i'm going the cheap way for Flashback Friday today. here's one of my YouTube videos:

i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast last night. i highly recommend it.
you can find the podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com and on the right hand side of this blog.

i will be on here tomorrow, probably after the Manchester United game. hopefully i will be in a good mood.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. enjoy scaring the shit out of children or just eating candy.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

it must have been the full moon

i was trying to get to sleep last night when the words started to bombard me. finally, i got out of bed and started to write. the first poem was a silly one. the second one was basically a call for anarchy. that should be a fun one to try to get published. i typed them up this morning and actually did a little poetry work. i've got a big submission planned for tomorrow, most likely. i know i want to get these poems out before the end of the month.

after that, i basically drank myself to sleep. good times. of course, my bone spurs have been killing me all day long. killing me to the point where i have more or less stayed in bed all day long. i'll have to get one of those wireless keyboards and see if i can actually write this blog from bed. it's not easy for me to find a comfortable spot for my foot when i'm sitting here. of course, here comes my mantra charging into the room. FIND THE PLEASURE IN THE PAIN YOU PUSSY.

the New York Yankees have hit the shit streak once again, losing yesterday 6-2. they are now in danger of pissing away the wildcard lead. thankfully, they are off today. they start a series in Atlanta tomorrow. oh goody, national league baseball.

thankfully, Manchester United saved my sporting life yesterday with a dominant 4-0 win to advance to the Champions League on the aggregate of 7-1. everyone, let's welcome Wayne Rooney back to the world. he scored a hat trick yesterday for the first time in European play since 2004. i was very pleased with this result.
today was the Champions League draw. i was scared to death that United was going to end up in a shitty group. thankfully, that didn't happen. they are in a group where they will have a legitimate chance to win.
hopefully this is the year that the trophies come back home.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm pretty sure that John will get evicted tonight and then walk right back in as the people in the jury house will have a chance to come back in the game tonight. or maybe he wants to just hang out with Becky for the rest of the summer and they let Shelli win. it should make for interesting enough television that i forget about the pain in my ankle.

NXT was good, at times, last night. i really enjoyed the opening match. that was fun. but the rest of the show was so much hit and miss that i totally understand why there was so much recorded material and flashbacks used. the tag team tournament starts next week, so that should be something fresh.

time for some music kids:
hard to believe it's been 25 years since he died. i remember exactly where i was when i heard the news. in my high school sweetheart's apartment watching the television when a breaking news report came on. i was in shock and started to cry. anytime i hear one of his songs, it takes me back to my teens and the thrill of finding music that just blew your fucking mind. SRV always lets me tap into something in the dark part of my heart and allow a little light down there. hopefully you're playing somewhere tonight.

and now the uncomfortable transition to some other shit:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and Married.

i think the weather is supposed to take a turn back to summer again. the temps are supposed to be in the upper 80's soon. so much for football weather.

i got some great music on NoiseTrade late last night for FREE. i will include the link below in the music section.

hopefully i can stand the pain long enough to get those poems out tomorrow and probably do some grocery shopping as well. the old mind over matter jedi tricks i guess. either that or the rest of the Jager i have. either should work.

that's all for me today. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. maybe the worm turns tonight and i get on here in the morning. or maybe not.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

insomnia, arthritis, nightmares and dreams of old girlfriends

the thunder hit around 4 in the morning. i was just getting to bed. you can imagine my joy of being up at 7:30. thankfully, i did get a couple cat naps today. but, with more rain coming in, i'll be trying to sleep in my massage chair before too long.

the New York Yankees concluded their last long road trip of the season with a 12-3 win over the White Sox yesterday. they are off tonight and start a series with the last place Red Sox tomorrow.

the Sunday night shows were pretty damn good. i really enjoyed Big Brother. Shelli crying was beautiful. True Detective was great last night. there were a few HOLY SHIT moments which should make the season finale next Sunday a joy to watch. Ballers was pretty good, as was The Brink. The Strain was excellent. my DVR cut off the ending, so i stayed up to make sure i saw it. Ray Donovan was really good. Masters of Sex was just ok. it kind of felt like a transitional episode for most of it. Last Week Tonight was damn close to perfect once again last night:

you ever get an old crush stuck in your mind? memories so vivid it's like time ceases to exist? welcome to my world. loneliness is creeping along side of me. even the stoic could use a friend every now and then. or maybe i just watch too much porn.

enjoy some music kids:

and in case you'd really like to laugh your ass off, enjoy:

the only thing i plan on watching tonight is Monday Night Raw. i'm sure it will be a nostalgia fuck for me given the death of Rowdy Roddy Piper. i'm interested to see how you do a tribute to him and still erase Hulk Hogan from the memory of the WWE. should be interesting. plus, i am really looking forward to the Stone Cold Podcast tonight with Paige. that will be on the WWE Network.

the hallway FINALLY got painted here at the new house. so, we can start putting up the art and whatnot that we have sitting around for the hallway. i also heard today that the fuckers that bought the farm sold the barns and had them tore down. those barns were made of wood that were easily over 200 years old. i guess they wanted to make back some of the money they paid for the place. what a fucking shame. my guess is they will put up steel buildings. sadly, the farm will never look the same again. i haven't drove past it yet but i'm sure i will be devastated when i see it.

so on that uplifting note, hope everyone had a great weekend.

a lazy Sunday (hopefully)

the windows are open, the sun is out (HOLY SHIT, the sun, you still exist), there is a light breeze in the air and this day has napping written all over it.

the New York Yankees thankfully won last night, 9-6. it's a little troubling that supposedly their best pitcher (Tanaka) blew a 6 run lead. but, the bullpen did the job the rest of the way and the offense is finding some hits once again. all in all, it was a tasty victory beer. they play again this afternoon to try to win the series.

i watched Brasil lose to Paraguay yesterday in the Copa America. that was a little stunning. i also watched England beat Canada in the Women's World Cup. that was a bit of a stunner as well. i also watched a little UFC before i just decided to come in my room and find old songs on iTunes the rest of the night. you'll see a couple of those below in the music section.

ROH last night was excellent. the match between Adam Cole and AJ Styles was great. how Adam Cole isn't the WWE by now is a complete mystery to me.

Power was really good. i watched most of it this morning. i really love how the story is building some real drama now. plus, it never hurts to see some tits every now and then.

enjoy a long music break my friends:

if mom doesn't have me do too much shit around the house today (cleaning, hanging shit, another shopping trip) my plan is to relax and nap and get ready for tonight.

tonight will be a long one on the television. one of my favorite shows will air the series finale tonight, Nurse Jackie. hopefully it goes out with a bang. also on Showtime tonight will be the season finale of Happyish and Penny Dreadful. over on HBO will be True Detective, Ballers, The Brink and Last Week Tonight. and starting the night off, that is if golf ends at the scheduled time, will be Big Brother. this cast is just crazy enough to keep me interested.

you may have noticed the broadsides for sale listed on the right hand side of the blog. if you did, please feel free to order a set. if you didn't, now you don't have an excuse.

i woke up this morning and was a little jealous of my friend, Sam Roberts. not only was he up in New England this weekend interviewing some wrestling greats with the beautiful Katie Linendoll, he also got to see this:
lucky bastard.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. i'm going to pour myself a drink and go enjoy a rare day in June that isn't hot and humid as fuck.

i never did like this day

this is my first Father's Day with the knowledge that my father is dead. i'm not exactly sure how i'm going to react to shit today. i've already seen commercials that have made me fucking sick to my stomach. it reminds me of watching my neighbor play catch with his son when i was a teenager, wondering why the fuck my father couldn't find the time to do that with me. this has a day of alcohol written all over it.

for those of you that had great fathers or still enjoy the company of your father, here's a touching music video for you people:

the New York Yankees broke out the whipping stick last night and beat the Tigers 14-3. that capped off a nearly perfect day at Yankee Stadium. Old Timer's Day was excellent as usual. the ceremony to honor Willie Randolph was good:
but, the moment that got me was the surprise plaque for Mel Stottlemyre:
as you might imagine, given how much cancer has played a role in my adult life, i was wiping tears for the next hour or so. thankfully, the Old Timer's game itself had a few laughs in it:

ROH was excellent last night. of course, anytime you have an episode with Nakamura and AJ Styles on it, it's going to be great.

Power was great last night. i loved the ending and how many layers this season has already started.

i wrote 2 poems last night, so that made 3 for the day. i typed those 3 up late last night and i think they are really good. not sure when i'll send them out, sort of depends on when other poems gets published.

enjoy another musical interlude:

it appears my breakfast didn't want to stay in my body as long as i wanted it to. thankfully, i made it to the toilet in time. i suppose, it would have been more appropriate that i didn't for today.

my afternoon today will be a mix of baseball and soccer. my evening will be jam packed with some new shows on HBO. i'm really looking forward to the new season of True Detective. the first season was damn near perfect, so i have high hopes for this one. after that, two new shows come on; Ballers and The Brink. hopefully i will enjoy both of them. over on Showtime will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish and Penny Dreadful. the night will close out with Last Week Tonight on HBO. given that i'm running on about 4 hours of sleep at the moment, you can bet that i will be using the DVR for all of that.

i really hope the Yankees win today as it is painfully obvious i really need a fucking drink.

for those good fathers out there, i hope you enjoy your day. for the pieces of shit like my own was, do yourself a favor and just fucking try. i know i would have respected my father about a trillion times more than i do now if he just would have put forth some kind of fucking effort. but, that ship has sailed. if you truly don't want your children to hate you until the end of time, take advantage of the present and be something resembling a man.

to all the single mothers out there who have to play both roles of parent, i hope you enjoy the day as well. god knows, you certainly deserve to do so.

i hope your weekend is going good. i actually got a few things done yesterday and it was dry enough to clean out the water logged bird feeders. there is nothing worse than bird seed that has gone bad. it's like trying to clean out pure shit. the kind of shit that stinks to high heaven. that smell and the smell of death are trapped in my head forever.

on that good note, i wish everyone adieu
