Happy Father's Day to all the good fathers out there. if you are like the father i had growing up, go to fucking hell already.
also, Happy Juneteenth to everyone. if you are still not sure what this holiday means or why it even fucking exists, please educate yourself. no one else is going to do it for you.
the New York Yankees won yesterday in Toronto, 4-0. they go for the sweep this afternoon.
Colorado whipped Tampa Bay last night, 7-0, to win Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. Game 3 is Monday night in Tampa.
i did catch a few MLS games yesterday.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be VICE, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Flatbush Misdemeanors and Last Week Tonight.
this will probably be the last day i don't have the air conditioning on for the next 3 months. i believe it is supposed to be back in the 90's starting tomorrow. just fucking great.
i will hopefully do a little writing today as i want to get some poems out tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
until tomorrow kids...

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
as many of you know, i did not have a good relationship with my father. i think he's been gone long enough now that he's simply a crutch for the poems when i'm stuck and can't think of anything to write. so, to all the good fathers out there, the ones that didn't punish their children by mentally abusing them or threatening to take them out of the world they brought them into; to the ones that didn't arrive late with an excuse to a championship match; to the ones that didn't steal all the college money playing the fucking lottery; to the ones that didn't blame a hit and run accident on their oldest child; to the ones that didn't forget birthdays; to the ones that didn't choose to work overtime instead of going home and enjoying the family... happy father's day.
i made the mistake last night to read the #speakingout stories on the internet last night regarding pro wrestling before going to bed. so many of the names involved are people i really respected and i was literally in tears reading those stories of abuse. as someone who has struggled to come to grips with it in my own past, i applaud each and everyone for coming forward as i know how fucking hard that can be. and honestly, the sooner we as a society get all this shit out into the open and treat sexual abuse, domestic abuse, etc. as seriously as it deserves to be treated, the better we are going to be in the future.
ROH was very good last night.
Austin City Limits was the Chris Stapleton episode i mistakenly deleted a few months ago.
i did watch the Belmont Stakes yesterday. i wasn't surprised with the winner of the race.
i watched some of the UFC last night as well.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of VICE, Perry Mason, Last Week Tonight, Hightown, The Chi and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
i went to the store earlier today to pick up my prescriptions and get a few other things. i didn't know that Father's Day was all the moms take all the kids to the store day. it was way too fucking crowded for an early Sunday afternoon.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i send some poems out.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
as i have grown older and more understanding of the world and life in general, my hatred for my father hasn't lessened at all. to live my entire life knowing my father chose not to love me as much as he could because he had to wait a year to be able to write me off on the taxes is one of those thoughts that has the ability to fucking drain you, if you allow it. i like to think of any success i have had in poetry as a giant middle finger to my father. he's been gone for over 3 years now. i still haven't gone to the grave. i don't know if i ever will. so, to all the good fathers out there, i hope you have a great day and continue to love your children and your families with everything you have. for all the fucked up fathers out there, allow me to be a lesson for you. every physical and mental scar you put upon your children, they are never forgotten and only the good ones ever get around to forgiving. and if you want that forgiveness, try not to die before it happens.
when Messi had the penalty kick stopped yesterday against Iceland, i laughed my ass off. you could tell the pressure of what CR7 did the day before was getting to him. it finished Argentina 1 Iceland 1. Denmark beat Peru yesterday 1-0. Croatia beat Nigeria 2-0. i really think Croatia is a sleeper team in this World Cup. this morning, Serbia defeated Costa Rica 1-0. the other games today are Mexico vs. Germany and Brazil vs. Switzerland.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching yesterday from Severino. they also got back to back home runs from Stanton and Sanchez. the Yankees won over Tampa 4-1. they will go for the sweep today on Old Timer's Day.
ROH was excellent last night.
NXT Takeover Chicago II was fucking amazing last night. i thought every match was either pretty good to holy fucking shit great. the tag team title match got the night off to a hot start. Ricochet vs. The Velveteen Dream was excellent. and to close the night out, Gargano vs. Ciampa was perhaps the best street fight i have ever seen. the storytelling in the match was top notch. and the last few minutes after Ciampa took off Gargano's wedding ring and spit on it was classic. when you finish a show with the crowd in unison chanting Fuck You Ciampa, you know the show was great.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Westworld, Succession, Last Week Tonight, The Affair, I'm Dying Up Here, Drop the Mic and Total Bellas. i'll be watching WWE Money in the Bank on WWE Network for most of the night.
we had 2.1 inches of rain yesterday in a pop up thunderstorm that came out of nowhere. nothing like laying in bed and suddenly feeling pain and then asking, is that fucking hail? sure enough, we had about 10 minutes or so of dime size hail. fuck me runnin'.
this morning it felt even hotter and stickier than yesterday. joy.
i think mom enjoyed her birthday. i laughed at one of the things my sister got her. a pillow that said, welcome to the shit show. fucking classic.
i will be on here sometime tomorrow after mom and i take the Highlander in for service. i'm hoping i won't have to drive that Rav4 for days, unless of course, i really like it.
i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
this is my first Father's Day with the knowledge that my father is dead. i'm not exactly sure how i'm going to react to shit today. i've already seen commercials that have made me fucking sick to my stomach. it reminds me of watching my neighbor play catch with his son when i was a teenager, wondering why the fuck my father couldn't find the time to do that with me. this has a day of alcohol written all over it.
for those of you that had great fathers or still enjoy the company of your father, here's a touching music video for you people:
the New York Yankees broke out the whipping stick last night and beat the Tigers 14-3. that capped off a nearly perfect day at Yankee Stadium. Old Timer's Day was excellent as usual. the ceremony to honor Willie Randolph was good:
but, the moment that got me was the surprise plaque for Mel Stottlemyre:
as you might imagine, given how much cancer has played a role in my adult life, i was wiping tears for the next hour or so. thankfully, the Old Timer's game itself had a few laughs in it:
ROH was excellent last night. of course, anytime you have an episode with Nakamura and AJ Styles on it, it's going to be great.
Power was great last night. i loved the ending and how many layers this season has already started.
i wrote 2 poems last night, so that made 3 for the day. i typed those 3 up late last night and i think they are really good. not sure when i'll send them out, sort of depends on when other poems gets published.
enjoy another musical interlude:
it appears my breakfast didn't want to stay in my body as long as i wanted it to. thankfully, i made it to the toilet in time. i suppose, it would have been more appropriate that i didn't for today.
my afternoon today will be a mix of baseball and soccer. my evening will be jam packed with some new shows on HBO. i'm really looking forward to the new season of True Detective. the first season was damn near perfect, so i have high hopes for this one. after that, two new shows come on; Ballers and The Brink. hopefully i will enjoy both of them. over on Showtime will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish and Penny Dreadful. the night will close out with Last Week Tonight on HBO. given that i'm running on about 4 hours of sleep at the moment, you can bet that i will be using the DVR for all of that.
i really hope the Yankees win today as it is painfully obvious i really need a fucking drink.
for those good fathers out there, i hope you enjoy your day. for the pieces of shit like my own was, do yourself a favor and just fucking try. i know i would have respected my father about a trillion times more than i do now if he just would have put forth some kind of fucking effort. but, that ship has sailed. if you truly don't want your children to hate you until the end of time, take advantage of the present and be something resembling a man.
to all the single mothers out there who have to play both roles of parent, i hope you enjoy the day as well. god knows, you certainly deserve to do so.
i hope your weekend is going good. i actually got a few things done yesterday and it was dry enough to clean out the water logged bird feeders. there is nothing worse than bird seed that has gone bad. it's like trying to clean out pure shit. the kind of shit that stinks to high heaven. that smell and the smell of death are trapped in my head forever.
on that good note, i wish everyone adieu

today is Father's Day. i would normally celebrate this day by writing a series of poems about my shitty father. i've decided to avoid that today. i think i have beaten that horse too often. instead, i will do today just like my father is doing, pretending the other doesn't exist.
mom and i went to this food truck yesterday that comes into town every other week or so for some BBQ. i had some really damn good brisket, some slaw, mac&cheese... really good.
speaking of my mother, she turns 61 tomorrow. let me just say, she's not exactly looking forward to it.
the Yankees lost 5-1 last night/early this morning. they had some lights go out in that dump out there in Oakland, so that delayed the game for about 45 minutes. the offense ran into a pitcher that has owned them here lately. they will go for the series win this afternoon.
in World Cup action yesterday, i thought Colombia looked the best. they beat Greece 3-0. Italy defeated England 2-1 in a game that was pretty entertaining, especially if you dislike the English. Costa Rica came from behind to stun Uruguay 3-1. as a guy who dislikes Luis Suarez immensely, this made me very happy. and lastly, Ivory Coast came from behind to beat Japan, 2-1. just call it the Drogba effect.
today starts off with Switzerland vs. Ecuador. next is France vs. Honduras. and lastly will be Argentina vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina. hopefully there will be plenty of goals like the rest of the games. it doesn't help me sleep but it does keep me entertained.
not sure if i will watch much of Game 5 tonight in the NBA Finals. probably just a glance or two.
my Sunday night shows will start with Showtime tonight. Nurse Jackie, Californication, and my current favorite, Penny Dreadful. and then i have some time to kill before Last Week Tonight on HBO. i suppose in that time to kill i should actually finish my mother's birthday gifts.
ROH was excellent last night. a great match between Adam Cole and Kevin Steen finished off the show. if the rumors are true, i can't wait to see what Kevin is able to do in the WWE.
that's all for me today. i've got toilets to clean, trash to pick up, ungrateful cats to feed, breakfast to eat, and a bad back to stretch out before the games start today.
hope this finds everyone well, enjoying your weekend. to all the good fathers out there, hope you have a great day. to all the bad ones, mine included, wake the fuck up or die already. that is if your dumb ass hasn't changed the life insurance policy already.

woke up to a downpour, which was great. until it only lasted for 3 minutes. as of last night, it was supposed to rain all morning. why i bother to pay attention to weather forecasts...
happy father's day to all the good fathers out there. as for the bad ones like my own...
typed up 2 poems this morning. i really like them both. i'm hoping to send them out by the end of this week. i have a few places in mind.
another day of the Yankees, EURO 2012, a little Nascar and maybe a little NBA around my Showtime and HBO schedules tonight. other than taking out the trash and hopefully watching it rain, my day is pretty much set.
some morning music:
Steve Earle - Copperhead Road
Fun. - Some Nights
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
