hello anger, it's me again...

i wrote two poems last night, one about burning the candle at both ends again. this is a common theme in my poetry when i take a turn to living on the knife's edge so to speak. i'm restless in a sense. i know what i want to do but i don't have the means to do that and every time i think i'm taking a positive step in the right direction i end up getting punched in the dick again. i believe most people just call this life. i never cared for being like most people.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at VCU, 62-58. considering the injuries and foul trouble Dayton had last night, this was very unexpected, but needed. Dayton plays at home on Friday against Saint Louis.

the New York Knicks won last night at Orlando, 102-98.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

i did watch a little of LeBron James becoming the NBA all-time leading scorer last night.

NXT was pretty good last night.

both episodes of MLW last night were pretty good.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and Name That Tune.

so, i did get the grocery shopping done before the Manchester United game started today. for the first 60 minutes of the game, i wish i would have been stuck at Kroger still waiting in line. thankfully, Rashford and Sancho scored to get a 2-2 draw against Leeds. i'm still pissy they dropped 2 points when they had the chance to draw even with Manchester City on points in second place. oh well.

i guess we're supposed to have some crazy fucking wind here starting tonight into tomorrow. like gusts to 50 to 60 MPH. so, i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Vancouver.

i do have some NBA and NHL bets tonight, as well as a college basketball parlay. hopefully they go better than my Manchester United bet today.

ok, that's all for me today.

until tomorrow kids...

and the heatwave continues...

always love when i walk outside to get the morning paper and the air is so damn thick that i start to sweat just walking down the driveway. and when the humidity is as high as the temperature, something has to break soon. i think there are some thunderstorms to the south of us. i'll gladly accept the pain from the rain for a break from this fucking heat.

the New York Yankees won last night, 11-1 over Boston. that puts the Yankees back in a first place tie in the division. the Yankees also set the team record for most home runs before the All-Star break. the Yankees start a series at home with Atlanta tonight.

Big Brother was pretty good last night.

Power was excellent last night. i can't wait to see what happens this season.

The Affair was very good last night.

I'm Dying Up Here was great last night. the season finale next week looks like it will be great.

Succession was good last night.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i wasn't shocked that LeBron chose to go to the Lakers last night. as a Sacramento Kings fan, i know the next 4 years are going to fucking suck.

i'm really hoping i sent the last piece i needed to submit to Gofundme to clear me from Debbie's bogus claims of me stealing money from her. the receipt from Western Union that i sent over was pretty clear and straightforward. part of me almost wishes they realize she's been lying this entire time and closes the donations off completely. that would be a great lesson in karma.

i had a lovely chat with the beautiful black woman i'm falling madly in love with in Rome today. she's a bit freaky like i am, so i do love a dirty conversation with her while she's riding the bus.

here is your World Cup update:
Brazil defeated Mexico 2-0 this morning. Mexico played well for a half. Brazil outclassed them by a mile in the second half. and of course, Mexico had an excuse for the loss, the referee. dos a cero sounds familiar right? Belgium defeated Japan 3-2 at the death. and i mean in the last 6 seconds of the game. Japan had a 2-0 lead and Belgium stormed back and scored the winner right before they were going to go to play another 30 minutes. i felt so bad for Japan. but, if you blow a lead like that, you don't deserve to win. i can't wait for Brazil vs. Belgium on Friday. that should be a classic. tomorrow, Sweden plays Switzerland and England takes on Columbia. i'll miss part of the England game as i'll be at a doctor's appointment.

that's all for me kids. i hope everyone had a great weekend.

and so it begins...

mom finally got released from the hospital today. she was very happy to break free as she put it. she wanted to get some food as soon as she left, so i took her through the Burger King drive-thru (her choice). once she got back home, it took her a little time to figure out the best place to sit, etc. she's now back in her room and my sister is here for the weekend. the home health nurse will be here tomorrow at some point. i figure if we can make it through the weekend without killing each other, we'll be off to a good start.

i did write 7 poems last night. that finished off a notebook i started in November of last year. 7 months ain't bad, at least for me. i typed the poems up before i went to get mom from the hospital. i think all of them are pretty good.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty fucking good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight.

the New York Yankees start a series with the Oakland A's tonight. i hope they get a victory as i certainly need a drink.

i did watch a little of the basketball game last night. if Cleveland wins the finals again this year, i'll go ahead and anoint LeBron as the best basketball player EVER.

i ended up watching most of the hockey game last night. you can't ask for more than a Game 7 that goes into 2OT.  the Stanley Cup Final will be Nashville vs. Pittsburgh. i couldn't care less who wins.

i have no idea when i'll be on here tomorrow or at all this weekend. i get the feeling that my sister and i are going to be running around like chickens with our heads cut off while waiting for mom to make up her mind on what she wants and needs.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. if you are enjoying the Memorial Day weekend festivities wherever, be safe and be sure you have bail money.

overtime magic

there are times that the New York Rangers frustrate the living shit out of me. they have a tendency to sit back and think their talent will get everything done for them. thankfully, something clicked in the second period last night and they started to actually attempt to outwork Montreal. thank god they found it before it was too late.
a 3-2 win in Game 5 to go up in the series 3-2. Game 6 is Saturday night at MSG. god willing, the boys won't have to go back to Montreal for a Game 7.

after the game mom asked me what i wanted her to do when i have my heart attack from how i watch these games. i told her, let me die. i've been asking for it for 41 years now. if i can die after a victory, at least i'll be as happy as i can fucking get.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Lip Sync Battle was great last night. Justin Verlander is a very lucky man.

while the Rangers were frustrating me last night, i thought about watching some playoff basketball. i noticed Cleveland was trailing by a ton at halftime last night. and then i saw they were only down by a couple. thankfully, i got to see some of what LeBron did last night. it's hard to imagine just how much people take him for granted.

Fuck, That's Delicious 4/20 Special was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight in Pittsburgh. hopefully they can keep on winning.

i went to the grocery store earlier today. i was pretty happy that i was able to get everything that was on the list and keep it under $100.

i also did a little poetry work today. i think i know where my next round of submissions are going. that might be what i do this weekend. or maybe late tonight... whenever that wild hair gets up my ass...

it's hard to believe it's been one year since Prince died. of course, i've heard there's a ton of unreleased music that will be coming out for years to come. i suppose that depends on the family and the court system. i've spent a good portion of today just listening to old songs of his. there truly will never be another one.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'm going to try to get it done in the morning, as i believe the cleaning people will be coming in the afternoon. i find it funny that mom is bitching about money yet still pays for people to come and clean the house. tales for another day...

what a night

i watched the last 2 minutes or so of the NBA Finals last night. and then for the next few hours, i sat in stunned amazement. i never thought i'd see Cleveland win anything in my lifetime. and honestly, it still feels like some bizarre world of fairy tales at the moment. having lived all my life in Ohio, i get the pain, the neediness, the heartache and all the tears that come along with failure. it makes success that much sweeter but also that much more rare. it's a damn state where the recession has never ended for most of it. and i'm not talking about the most recent one. i'm talking about the recession from the fucking 1970's. but, at least for a night, a good portion of this state got to feel like what the rest of the world gets to feel from time to time... a champion.

all the credit should go to LeBron James. he came back and said he would win a championship and he did. he got a triple double in Game 7, becoming only the 3rd player ever to do that. Cleveland became the first team to ever come back from being down 3-1 in the NBA Finals. LBJ was also the MVP of the Finals. he lead everyone on both teams in every damn stat. that's the first time any player has ever done that in the playoffs. and i will think of this as a series of Cleveland imposing their will and Golden State being so naive to think they could tug on superman's cape. after they said shit about LeBron after Game 4, they didn't win another fucking game.  in more shocking news, the fans didn't burn the city of Cleveland to the ground last night. i'm sure some people are still partying, celebrating the victory. it's been 52 years since Cleveland has won anything. they deserve it.

WWE Money in the Bank was saved by the fact that all the big matches over delivered last night. AJ Styles defeating John Cena was good. it could have been great if Cena would have lost clean. but his fucking ego wouldn't allow that. stupid. the ladder match was spectacular. i had no problem with Dean Ambrose winning the briefcase. Seth Rollins defeating Roman Reigns was perfect. and then having Dean Ambrose come out of nowhere to cash in the briefcase he had just won and become the new champion was great. all 3 former members of The Shield were the world champion in the same night. that should make for an interesting Monday Night Raw tonight.

Euro 2016 Update:
France had no late drama yesterday, so they ended up in a 0-0 draw with Switzerland. they both advanced out of the group. Albania got a huge 1-0 victory, their first ever in a major tournament, over Romania. they are still alive among the 3rd place teams. today, England controlled most of the game but never could solve Slovakia. that game ended 0-0. Wales tromped Russia 3-0. that means Wales wins the group, over England. i'm sure that will be fun in the papers tomorrow in London. Slovakia is still alive among 3rd place teams and Russia is eliminated.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 7-4. they finished their road trip 3-3, just like a mediocre team would. they are off tonight.

the Sunday night shows were good. Silicon Valley was hilarious. Veep was really good. the season and now after watching it, series finale of Penny Dreadful was spectacular. i was in tears by the end of it. easily one of my favorite shows EVER. it will be missed. and finally, Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

nothing on the DVR tonight, so i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.

i haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but the latest podcast from Sam & Cathy is out. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/samrobertsshow/sam-cathy-016-origin-of-sound

it has been hotter than shit here today. damn near 100 it feels like. nothing quite like going out to get the paper and then 30 seconds later you're racing to the toilet. have i mentioned how i'm so looking forward to the vacation in July to Cleveland?

i may do some writing tonight, especially if the wrestling is boring me.

what else can you do at the grocery store at 9 AM...

buy liquor of course. i decided to reward myself this holiday weekend with some booze. 12 bottles of beer, a bottle of spiced rum and a bottle of Jim Beam. that should make for a good weekend.

this was the first time i've been at a grocery store this early on a Saturday morning in years. mom wanted to beat the heat and the crowds. nearly $300 later, we were walking out. i guess we needed to stock up. of course, a chunk of that was gift cards. all in all, a good trip. i saw a few women that may become poems or a future ex-wife. i'm not quite sure yet.

NJPW was excellent last night.

the episode of VICE last night was so damn good that i think everyone on earth should be forced to watch it. i will NEVER own a cell phone after watching it.

i did watch most of Cleveland whipping Toronto last night. LeBron is going to his 6th straight finals. that hasn't been done in 50 years. simply fucking amazing.

the New York Yankees won last night 4-1. hopefully they start another winning streak this afternoon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and American Masters: The Highwaymen.

i'm really looking forward to watching the Champions League final today between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. it should be an interesting one to watch. hopefully CR7 gets a goal or two.

team USA takes on Bolivia tonight in their final friendly before Copa America. if they get a win tonight, i'll think a little more highly of their chances in the Copa America.

i will probably also watch a little of Golden State and OKC tonight. if OKC wins that means Cleveland will have home court advantage for the NBA finals.

when i told mom it was 80 degrees in the house last night, she finally said to turn on the air conditioning. it certainly feels much better now.

hello to the sun

nothing like going outside in the morning and you can feel the oh fuck heat coming already. i decided to make sure the birds had enough food in case they venture out into the heat. i think a good portion of today will be spent inside. mom wants to go over to the farm before it closes tomorrow. hopefully we do that much later in the day.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night from Tanaka and two blasts from a weak ass hitter, beating the Nationals 6-1. they play again this afternoon. that makes 7 wins in a row.

also this afternoon, the USA men's soccer team takes on Germany. i'd be thrilled with a draw but the team believes after beating the Dutch, they can beat anyone now. we'll see:

Deadliest Catch was pretty interesting last night. i can't imagine spending Christmas working on a crab boat.

i did watch plenty of the NBA Finals last night. 2 Cleveland wins away now from a deity walking among us. LeBron is playing out of his mind and the small punk kid i saw play once at UD Arena is now turning into a star. fucking Matthew Dellavedova:
Cleveland won 96-91. LeBron went for 40 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. enjoy witnessing someone in their prime.

here's some funny shit from last night:
and let me just say, Reggie Watts is a fucking genius:

a quick music break as i go get some water:

my Wednesday nights have turned into pro wrestling nights. i figure that beats watching a bunch of ex-New York Rangers playing in the Stanley Cup Final. on the DVR tonight will be ROH, TNA and Lucha Underground. i will be watching the WWE Network at 8 to see NXT. sounds like a good way to beat the heat.

that's really all for me today. hopefully i will find out what the truck went for here soon. the guy that did the auction has sort of blown us off now that we don't have anything else to sell. let's just say mom isn't very happy with that.

hopefully it's not 90 and fucking humid as hell where you are.

waiting on a cold front

the rain that was supposed to come yesterday never did. so, the day of agony now becomes another day of agony. it was so hot and humid yesterday, i think both mom and i without saying it to each other, just said fuck it and spent the day in the air conditioning. so, the shit we needed to get done yesterday will have to get done later today. so, that means trips to 3 stores and hopefully i will be back in time to watch the USA women play in the World Cup.

the Yankees won again yesterday, sweeping the Angels 6-2. they are off today. they start a series with the Nationals tomorrow night at home. today happens to be the baseball draft. the Yankees have their highest pick in years. hopefully they get someone who will make an impact soon.

i did watch some of the NBA Finals last night. i have to agree with what Kenny Smith said after the game. LeBron has done more with less than any other player in league history. Cleveland won last night in OT, 95-93. that takes the home court advantage away from Golden State. 3 wins away to witnessing a living deity:

the Sunday night shows were excellent last night. Nurse Jackie was really good. Happyish was excellent. Penny Dreadful had some crazy ass imagery that was awesome. one of the best shows on television by a mile. Silicon Valley was funny. Veep was a little twisted and dry, some good old uncomfortable humor. finally, Last Week Tonight delivered another home run:

i had a hard time falling asleep last night. i thought the bottle of rum i finished off would have put me to sleep. i didn't feel the need to write last night. it was more a few hours of thought. of course, 4 hours later i was up.

a quick music break before we get to today:

after mom gets done with her shower, it's off to the stores. got some shit to return, some shit to buy, and some free birthday shit to pick up as well. we also have to get gas. if all goes well, i'll be back here in time to watch team USA play.

i'm not a big follower of women's soccer but i do support my country in these world events. so, hopefully the ladies can get the job done this time around. they are in the group of death. i figure every American team for the next century will be in the group of death for bringing down FIFA.

after that, it will be time to watch Monday Night Raw. hopefully they have a good show going into the pay per view on Sunday. it's in Columbus. i'm holding out hope i can score some tickets to it. i haven't been to a wrestling show in years.

i figure after some of the late night shows, and hopefully after the cold front has moved through here, i can get some sleep and be (relatively) pain free.

that's all for me today. hopefully the freaks are out today and i have something to write about after my adventure into public today.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

flip the damn switch

i don't know what is, but the New York Rangers are a completely different animal when facing elimination. i was confident last night, but cautious. by the end of the game, i was fully convinced that this is the year.

the Rangers started off strong, scoring first. it was also the first of three goals for Derick Brassard:
the King was back to being THE KING:
the Rangers exploded in the 3rd period to take a 2-1 game they were barely winning into a 7-3 convincing defeat. yet another series for the Rangers that is 3-3. given their record in elimination games and Game 7's at home, i think i will go with the goalie that is on the verge of setting the NHL record for Game 7 wins. that game comes on Friday. i have no doubts that MSG will be the loudest building on earth that night. enjoy some highlights:

to double my pleasure last night, the New York Yankees got some strong pitching and got some timely hitting to win 5-1. this afternoon they go for the sweep against one of the best teams in baseball. such a crazy damn sport.

as you might imagine, i was feeling pretty damn good after two victory beers.

had some weather roll through the area yesterday. kind of eerie, the place that mom and i were at over the weekend got hit with a tornado. i'm starting to think maybe it's me. we just got some rain here.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground as it is on the same time as NXT is on the WWE Network. and seeing that the Yankees play this afternoon, tonight is going to be pro wrestling and some playoff basketball and hockey.

speaking of playoff basketball, i did watch a little of the Cavs sweeping the Hawks last night:
if LeBron leads Cleveland to winning a championship, you might as well name the fucking city after him. if you ever wanted to see what it would look like to see someone treated like an actual deity, we are 4 Cleveland wins away from seeing it.

the lawn company treated the grass this morning, so i'm happy i fed the birds yesterday. hopefully the new furniture gets here before the next round of thunderstorms are supposed to start.

that's all for me kids. i actually got a shower in early this morning, so i'm feeling pretty good at the moment. i'm sure once the rain gets closer, or the Yankees start losing, that will all change.

memorial day in the rain

first off, a happy Memorial Day to everyone. thank you for your service to this country.

yesterday started off pretty good for me. Manchester United played against a Hull team that had to win. so, for the final score to be 0-0 i was pleased but also sad. i didn't want to see Steve Bruce get relegated. but, shit happens. and considering everyone that was playing in a game that United had no desire to play, a clean sheet was a welcome sight. that certainly was a nice audition by Victor Valdes for next season. even though the team finished in the top 4, this summer is going to be pivotal to actually win some titles next season.

next up was the Indianapolis 500. i am a huge Juan Pablo Montoya fan. i have been since the Formula 1 days. so, to watch him win his second 500 15 years after his first one was beautiful. that was one sweet victory beer:

little did i know, that was going to be the high for the day.

the New York Rangers got beat at their own game last night. Tampa played the perfect road game and won 2-0. so, now it's do or die time for the Rangers. Game 6 is Tuesday in Tampa. as much as i want to believe they can pull it off again with their backs against the wall, i have my doubts. but, like any suffering fool, i'll be watching.

the New York Yankees lost again last night, 5-2. the only thing i liked of the game was seeing the old faces at the Bernie Williams retirement ceremony:
they play again today against Kansas City. i have no clue when all this fucking losing is going to end.

as i'm watching that i'll probably also watch a little of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse championship. i believe it's Denver vs. Maryland.

i did watch a good portion of the basketball game last night. even after all these years, i'm still amazed at what LeBron can do:

the Sunday night shows were excellent. i watched most of them this morning. Nurse Jackie was great. Happyish was hilarious in a creepy way. Penny Dreadful was fucking brilliant. Silicon Valley was hilarious. and finally, Veep was pretty funny.

tonight on the television will be Monday Night Raw and god knows what else. i'm probably going to spend some time tonight writing and getting some submissions ready.

that and moving furniture around, helping mom. given the weather today, windy and rainy, i'm not going to have much fun today. my body is already aching from helping move the first two pieces of furniture. good times.

that's really all for me. hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. and hopefully, everyone enjoys today.

ye of little faith

i settled in for the New York Rangers game expecting the worst. thankfully, the exact opposite happened. The King stopped 38 of 39 shots. and two fuckers who have mostly been absent from the playoffs FINALLY showed up:
another big game from Keith Yandle and Chris Kreider and we're going back to New York all tied up at 2. it's now a best of 3 series. and let me just say, a victory beer after a 5-1 win in the playoffs taste so damn sweet. enjoy the highlights:
the pivotal Game 5 is Sunday night at MSG.

the Yankees got down 7-0 early last night. figures, they had their best pitcher on the mound. so, as usual, the offense exploded for 9 runs in the game. the problem was the pitching and shitty defense allowed Texas to score 10. and there are no damn moral victories in sports. that's 4 losses in a row and i'm pretty sure they are no longer in first place. they play again this afternoon. there's a good chance i'll be out with mom shopping. that's how much i don't like this team at the moment. i'd rather be out in public with people.

i did watch a little of the basketball game last night. i'm kind of shocked that LeBron has Cleveland 2 wins away from the NBA Finals. given the amount of injuries the team has, it's more or less him and a bunch of role players. if he pulls a championship off with this team, i don't think anyone can doubt how great he truly is then.

mom and i are going out to take advantage of some of these Memorial Day weekend sales. just basic shit for the house, for the birds, etc. plus, i think she wants to start cleaning out the garage this weekend. oh joy.

on the DVR today will be ROH. it should be another great episode. and i believe i will be able to watch it this afternoon. that would make it great. i might actually get to sleep tonight.

i will probably be on here tomorrow morning before Manchester United plays. if not, expect my lazy ass to show up in the afternoon.

hope everyone has a great Saturday. enjoy the weather. enjoy the sales. enjoy a cool drink or whatever your vice happens to be.

and tomorrow they are saying it will snow...

i tossed and turned all night long last night. i couldn't get comfortable for anything. needless to say, 4 hours of disjointed sleep did me no favors today.

i did catch some of Game 7 of the World Series last night. i'll admit, a smile did creep on my face when the Royals lost. as a Yankees fan, watching George Brett look heartbroken was a great sight to see for me. i don't forget shit, especially the rivalry of my youth between Kansas City and New York. also, winning 3 titles in 5 years is not a dynasty. it's called a good run. go to 5 World Series in 6 years and win 4 of them... that's a dynasty in baseball.

American Horror Story was fucking great last night. i'm interested to see where the show goes for next week.

tonight i will be flipping between The Big Bang Theory and LeBron James returning to Cleveland to play. of course, those are on at the same time. also on at the same time, is the New Orleans Saints game. they are at Carolina in a huge divisional matchup. i really just want to see the reaction to LeBron getting introduced. no basketball game needs to be watched until the last 5 minutes of the game. i've picked against the Saints once again. i figure if they keep winning when i pick against them, i'll gladly accept that loss each week.

found some more great music on NoiseTrade today. i'll provide the links below to some FREE music.

spent a good portion of the morning browsing on Amazon. i was trying to figure out some ideas of what to get my mother and sister for Christmas. i think i found a few good things.

i'll probably be on here early tomorrow. we have another hockey game in Columbus. it's supposed to be snowing on the way home from that. you can imagine how thrilled i am since i do the night driving.

that's all for me. hope you've got your candy ready and the slutty costume picked out for Halloween. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

the long summer nights

when i woke up at 10 this morning, nearly 3 hours later than i usually do, i wasn't more refreshed or energetic. it was sort of like that groggy feeling when you get too much sleep. i was up pretty late fucking around with trying some charcoal art. no luck there but i think i may have come up with a logo for this blog. one of these days i'll actually post it on here and see what everyone thinks. i like it, so the important part is covered.

when i heard the LeBron news yesterday, i was a little surprised. when i read his essay on si.com about returning, it really hit home. here is a link to it:
http://www.si.com/nba/2014/07/11/lebron-james-cleveland-cavaliers

as an Ohio kid that played basketball in this state, it really hit home. now, i got nowhere near to the level LeBron has reached, but still. i get what it is to be from this state, to be tied to it, to know the hardship and the level of despair that destroys each damn day. as one asshole on tv put it, this was a letter to other Ohioans. he was right. so, as much as i loved the heel turn LeBron took 4 years ago, i suppose it is time to fly the old colors again and go back to being a babyface. now, if he does end up bringing Cleveland a title for the first time in over half a century, he'll do more than just be a king. he will have stepped into the deity level of sports. as for that, i'll believe it when i see it.

another piece of my childhood is dead. http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/07/r-i-p-tommy-ramone-drummer-of-the-ramones/

the Yankees got out to yet another lead last night. and once again, were incapable of making it bigger. and once again, blew that lead. and once again, lost in extra innings, 3-2. it's a tough pill to swallow when you see guys that shouldn't be even in the majors shutting down guys making millions of dollars. they play again this afternoon. i'm going to do my best to avoid it.

mostly because it is on at the same time as the World Cup 3rd place game between Netherlands and Brazil. i really hope both teams just say fuck it and put on an offensive display for the ages. that would be fun to watch.

also tonight, i'll hopefully be up late enough to watch another episode of ROH.

i guess i should get out to feed the cats before they get too pissed that it's later than normal. it's bad enough that they treat the entire fucking farm as their litter box.

maybe if i get a wild hair up my ass, i'll take some more photos outside. if i do that, i'll be sure to get the possible new logo for this blog as well.

hope this finds everyone well. remember to pour one for Tommy Ramone.

be well. be creative. be generous and send me some money. be thoughtful and buy a book. be excited about life and go fuck someone, with their permission of course.

peace and chicken grease...

what a month

just got done folding my last load of laundry. like a dumb ass i turned the air off today and opened up the house. it's in the 80's today. no humidity but no real breeze either. good times.

after playing last night like they wanted to be somewhere else, (losing 6-1), the Yankees won today 3-1. helps that Tanaka pitched 8 strong innings and gave up 1 un-earned run. the defense absolutely fucking sucked today. hopefully they can rough up their former teammate tomorrow and win the series. knowing how this season has gone, Phil Hughes will look like Cy Young tomorrow.

i did watch Miami destroy Indiana last night to go to their 4th straight NBA Finals. that must have sucked to all the LeBron haters out there, watching him do something Michael Jordan never did.

also, i watched Chicago force a Game 7 be defeating the Kings out in Los Angeles. that should be interesting on Sunday night. i don't care who wins. just hope they play forever and have nothing left for the finals against the Rangers.

tonight, after i put my laundry away and make my bed for the first time in weeks, i plan on watching the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions on HBO. that should be good. also, there's a new episode of ROH tonight. and a Game 6 in the NBA playoffs. so, i'll be bouncing around between those things.

i did a little poetry work last night. came up with 20 poems to send out. now i just need to figure out where they are going. i've got a few places in mind. the plan is to have another round of submissions out by June 6th.

had a little fun on iTunes today. came across a band i had never heard of, Royal Blood. i got their EP and i have to admit, it is really fucking good. definitely a band i will keep an eye out on.

i'll be on here tomorrow after the Yankees game and/or Team USA's friendly against Turkey. i'm hoping they play much better tomorrow than they did in their last game. i'd like to think they actually have a chance to make it out of group play in the World Cup. (i'm dreaming)

hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday. and hopefully you haven't been stuck inside doing the toilets and laundry like i have been today.

be well.

it all comes down to this

there are no words that mean more to a sports fan than Game 7. it's life or death. win or go home. as a fanatic that lives and dies with each game, tonight is a big one. the New York Rangers have the chance to do something they have never done before, two things actually. they have never come back from being down 3-1 in a series to win. and they have never defeated the Penguins in the playoffs. and even with the NHL assigning the same shitty officials from game 6 for this game tonight, i have a good feeling about it. and there is nothing i would like to see more than watching that crybaby pussy Sidney Crosby skate off a fucking loser once again and be out of the playoffs. game starts at 7.

my health is starting to take a turn for the better, i guess. my first shit of the day wasn't dark green. it was a lighter shade, so hopefully i'm rounding toward brown. no sprints to the toilet, so maybe whatever the fuck that was causing that has moved on.

the Yankees last night blew two different 3 run leads to lose to the fucking Mets 9-7. needless to say, i won't bother with them tonight.

Monday Night Raw was good but was overshadowed by the news that Daniel Bryan has to have neck surgery. they haven't stripped him of the title yet, so that makes me believe that the company hopes that it won't be long. it totally sucks as he has busted his ass so hard to get to this spot only to have this happen. if he is out long, hopefully this forces the company to start pushing some new guys. PLEASE.

The Voice was ok last night. i honestly only watched snippets of the performances. if i had it my way, the final 3 would be Josh, Jake, and Kristen.

i'm going to try to fit in some of The Voice tonight as well as Deadliest Catch, but tonight is all about Game 7.

i did catch the last few minutes of LeBron's 49 points last night. i love that he was pissed that he didn't get to 50.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i could be so damn happy that i drink myself to oblivion tonight. or i could be so damn sad or mad that i start shaving off the playoff beard and don't stop. i'll guess sometime in the afternoon, but who knows.

congrats to Rio on 12 great years at Manchester United. you will be missed.

i'm off to go get my mind ready. worked up a special batch of crazy at iTunes for tonight's game. you'll see that below. until tomorrow my enemies...

a nice cherry on top near the end of 2013

so i got up yesterday morning full of nervous energy. got a good night of sleep surprisingly and was able to get all the stuff i had to do around the farm done pretty quickly. after a little breakfast i settled in for a little hockey.

team USA destroyed Germany 8-0 at the World Juniors. this was the game i was hoping for. easily handle an inferior opponent in the second game of back to backs. also, a complete performance as they never looked ahead to their next game. they play Canada tomorrow in their annual new year's eve war. should be yet another classic.

after that, a quick shower, and then off to see Dayton play Murray State. of course, i made sure to check all my fantasy football shit before i left. more on that later. Dayton started off cold, uninterested, and sloppy as hell. thankfully, they woke up before the first half was over. and then really flexed their muscles in the second half, winning 72-51. i was a little stunned they beat the spread as they were favored by 17. that's why i quit betting years ago. Dayton plays again on new year's day at 2 pm.

after the game there was a little concert by an 80's cover band, Stranger. it was really better than i ever thought it would be. here's a link to their site: http://stranger80s.com/

i only asked to see my mother's phone to check the NFL scores once. and once i saw that a few of my players had decent games and my opponent's QB had a horrible game, i felt pretty damn good. and then in the car ride home i heard that Drew Brees had thrown his 4th TD in the first half and i knew i was going to win. and with the final score of 168.24 to 102.06 i had won my 5th NFL Fantasy championship. my first on NFL.com and my first in this group with other poets and publishers. needless to say, the alcohol was flowing last night. i figure if i'm going to hate losing the way i do i might as well enjoy winning more than i should as well. so after a nice stiff double shot of whiskey and 2 victory beers from the wins earlier in the day, i was feeling pretty damn good.

the New York Rangers added to my joy last night with a 4-3 victory down in Tampa. it was the King's first victory since god knows when. plus, it was really nice to see the power play start to really click. highlights are below:

i haven't had that victory beer yet. i didn't want to drink myself into a morning on the toilet. so far so good with that call. i imagine i'll have that beer during Monday Night Raw tonight. plenty of rumors going on with who is going to be on the show tonight, so i'm hoping it's going to be a good one. other than that, i'm guessing there's probably some college football or basketball on that i'll be watching as well. all while still glowing about my victory.

and keeping in a private promise i had with myself, i am now officially, (once again), a New Orleans Saints fan. i was a huge fan when i was a child. but once i started playing fantasy football, i gave it up but told myself, if i can ever win a title with Drew Brees or Darren Sproles, i would become a fan again. and after YEARS of trying to do it, last night i finally did. and thankfully, the team is much better than when i was a fan starting in 1983. so, plenty of black and gold once again.

it's been lightly snowing here for hours. maybe an inch of accumulation so far. i was hoping it was going to start snowing heavier so i could do a quick YouTube video. i've got an idea about doing a reading in the snow. hopefully i can pull that off sometime before spring.

hope everyone is well. hope your weekend was as good as mine. and i do hope you are ending your 2013 on top of something or someone. good times.
