2 out of 3 ain't bad...

three days in a row of sunshine, holy shit... it was so nice outside today i went ahead and put out the pink flamingos. and much to mom's dismay, i made sure to put them in the front of the house this time. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the New York Yankees left a small village on base last night, losing to Seattle 7-1. against one of the better pitchers in baseball today, they did the exact same thing, losing 3-2. that's 4 straight losses and i believe they are something like 3 for 44 with runners in scoring position in those losses. so i guess this team is just like last year, they can't get the big hit to save their lives. joy.

NJPW was really good last night. 2 great matches that flew by in the 60 minutes of the show.

VICE was very good. it's an episode that i wish everyone in this country would watch.

i tossed and turned all night long. i'm not sure if it was because it was hotter or just my shitty dreams. i was really fucking tired when i started watching Manchester United this morning. apparently, at least after the first 25 minutes or so, so were they. thank god for Marcus Rashford. his goal was enough as United tried their best to give Aston Villa life, but they won 1-0. this relegates Villa for the first time in 28 years. ouch.

the New York Rangers finally woke up in the second period today and blitzed Pittsburgh, scoring 3 goals in a matter of minutes. they eventually won the game 4-2 to even the series 1-1. they next play at MSG on Tuesday. hopefully they continue their good play at home. 15 wins to go to bring Lord Stanley home.

so i've got 2 victory beers to enjoy. i'll do that after i take a shower. or maybe in the shower, i haven't done that in a while.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Saturday Night Live.

after i take a shower i will probably flip between some playoff hockey and basketball and the UFC.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money. take it easy and then take it again.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

let the drinking begin

so i woke up this morning and was going to go out and get the paper. i opened the front door and holy shit, it fucking snowed overnight. and of course it had to be on the morning when i knew i had to go 4 or 5 different places. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 4-0. thankfully, they made up for it today winning 8-4. they can win the series with Detroit tomorrow night on ESPN.

much to my amazement, the New York Rangers defeated Detroit today 3-2. now, i wouldn't put it past the Islanders to lose both games so the Rangers have to face Pittsburgh in the playoffs. if the Islanders get 3 points or more out of their last 2 games, the Rangers will face Florida in the playoffs. Detroit backed into the playoffs because of that dumpster fire of a team up in Boston. hard to believe, but the playoffs are just a few days away.

mom and i decided not to go to the game up in Columbus tonight. between my arthritis and her exhaustion, i knew we would be miserable up there. plus, my sister is sick. thankfully she had a friend that could use the tickets.

mom and i took 5 boxes of shit to get shredded today. that gets 5 boxes out of the garage. eventually we might even have a second vehicle to put in there. after that, i had to take her to work. after that we got some lunch and then went to the grocery store. i might have a few poems about that, although they will probably be about holding a piss in the entire time in the store. good times.

NJPW was excellent last night. i'm really enjoying listening to Jim Ross call pro wrestling again.

VICE was very disturbing last night. the segment about women's rights in Afghanistan was very informing as much as it was maddening. i wonder what the world would be like if the Quran had a New Testament? it's painfully obvious that the only way the Middle East will ever change is if the youth decide to overthrow the governments and the religious zealots running things. and then comes the never ending task of changing the made up minds of millions of people. imagine a world where everyone was equal. talk about a fucking dream.

and on that cheery note, enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

i really enjoyed listening to the interview on Sam Roberts' Show with Jamey Jasta,
you can listen to it here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/8/srshow-jamey-jasta

well, that's all for me today. i'll be on here sometime after Manchester United plays tomorrow. hopefully i'll be in a good mood. now, it's time to go enjoy a couple victory beers.

i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday night. call if you need bail money.

there must be a storm coming...

my left hip feels like an elephant slept on it all last night. and considering i sleep on my right side, i'm ruling myself out as the elephant. i figure this means there is either a big storm coming or arthritis has decided to really wage war on me. good times.

i got my laundry done late last night. it was sometime around the third load that i realized i completely forgot that the USA was playing Iceland in a soccer friendly yesterday. but, i gladly enjoyed a victory beer when i saw they won.

Shameless was excellent last night. with another great ending, i'm really expecting some serious chaos in the next few episodes. Billions got back on the good path last night. i really enjoyed the episode. and the VICE special on HBO last night about fighting ISIS clearly showed how stupid the Iraq war really was. i highly recommend anyone with a brain (which rules out most of the bible thumpers) to watch the episode.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The X-Files. i'll watch that after i get done watching Monday Night Raw.

the Dayton Flyers are ranked in both polls again and Duke isn't in either. welcome to the apocalypse.

i wrote 4 poems last night while trying to fall asleep. i typed them up this afternoon and i like them. 1 i think is really, really good. of course, my opinion in these matters doesn't matter.

that's all for me kids. not sure how i was able to sit here this long with my hip killing me. i hope everyone had a great weekend. at the very least, here's hoping everyone had a chance to drink themselves blind.

what a difference a day makes

so, sometime around 3 in the morning, i finally got to sleep. and in my own bed for the first time in a couple of nights. i still can't sleep like i normally do, due to my right hip, but i did get a good 4 1/2 hours and my back wasn't killing me.

most likely, the sleep was from two victory beers. and two wins that were memorable and desperately needed.

the Dayton Flyers won their rivalry game with Miami last night in the final seconds. anytime we play that school, it's like a trip to the fucking dentist. thankfully, Kyle Davis made the shot that sent everyone home happy. Dayton wins 64-63. here's the highlights:

after the game, mom and i went to Waffle House. that's really the only sit down restaurant that's open in the town i live in after 9 pm.

when i got home, i turned on the highlights to the New York Rangers game. thankfully, they got the win last night in OT. my favorite troll came through once again. a very much needed 3-2 win that sends them into the Christmas break with something to feel good about. here are the highlights.

so i drank those 2 victory beers while watching Smackdown and helping mom with some Christmas decorations. the main event was between Ziggler, Ambrose and Owens. it was a great match and a great way to end the show.

so i thought was doing pretty good this morning. i had a little breakfast and was sitting in my massage chair, reading the newspaper. and then the stomach started to rumble. i mentioned something to my mother this morning that i hadn't had to use any Imodium the last few days. sure enough, there i was racing to the toilet with the shits. it never fails. anytime i start to feel good, something has to bring me back down.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will WWE Tribute to the Troops. i will be watching NXT and probably some other shows on WWE Network as well.

hockey is off for the next few days, so i more or less will be watching basketball and football or catching up on the DVR for the next couple of days.

i'm not used to it being near 60 degrees on Dec. 23rd. i wouldn't mind it if it was sunny. instead it is rainy, which makes me miserable.

i guess this will be an afternoon icing my back and lounging in the massage chair. god willing, the Imodium will do its job.

i hope everyone is ready for Christmas or whatever other holiday you are celebrating. i hope everyone has a great day.

sleep, you foreign beauty, where have you been all my life

i think i have slept more in the last 2 days than i have in the last month. amazingly, my back doesn't hurt nearly as bad as it did before. i was actually able to lay down in my bed flat on my back and do some stretching this morning. so, it looks like i will be going to the basketball game tonight.

Monday Night Raw last night was The Slammy Awards. to say that the show was mostly a waste of time would be an understatement. the only thing i liked was probably Kevin Owens getting pissed off when he didn't win Breakout Star of the year. i would say thankfully, there was something else on to watch, but the New Orleans Saints didn't help me much in that effort.

the Saints had a pathetic first half, including scoring three touchdowns in the same drive only to have them called back by penalties or replay. they fought back in the second half but anytime this season the team has had to rely on the defense, every single fan knew what was coming next. failure. the defense needed a huge stop and didn't get it. so the Saints only had a few seconds left and sure enough, since Drew Brees was trying to play through the pain in his right foot, he couldn't throw more than 20 yards or so. hard to score a touchdown when you have to go 80 in under 20 seconds. hello frustration, it's me again. Saints lose 35-27.

i did win both of my fantasy football matches from over the weekend. so this coming week i'll be playing for fifth place in one league and two championships in the other two leagues. i'm pretty sure i'm going to be the underdog in all 3.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

tonight on the DVR will be WWE Smackdown as i believe there might be some actual wrestling on the show.

i will be at the Dayton Flyers vs. Miami Redhawks tonight. both my mother and sister graduated from Miami, so this game always means a little more in this family. tonight marks the return of Dyshawn Pierre from his suspension. i have no clue if he plays tonight or not, but he will be a welcome sight.

also tonight the New York Rangers will try to not give all of us fans a shitty Christmas by winning a game against Anaheim. the Ducks stink at the moment too, so i'm sort of happy i will be at the basketball game for most of this game.

hopefully i will be enjoying a few victory beers tonight.

i think my sister is coming down tomorrow. i thankfully was able to get most of the gifts wrapped last night. i even managed to wrap some of them in the comics instead of the obituary pages.

not sure what's going on with my uncle. i have a feeling with his blood pressure going down, that the end may be near. i figure given the way this family has gone over the years, i would not rule out a Christmas death. i think he's trying so hard to make it to that day that he's only hurting himself. as i told my mother this morning, maybe one of his daughters or his wife should have some fucking compassion and let him know it's okay to move on. but, given what i know about all of them, that won't happen. the last few months have been about themselves more than anything.

and on that lovely note, i hope everyone has a wonderful day.

and out from the storm comes a damn skunk...

we had some pretty good storms roll through here last night. strong enough that most high school football games got postponed until this afternoon. the rain certainly got my arthritis flaring last night, as i spent most of the night in bed, in pain. while coming out of the kitchen last night to take the trash out to the garage, i noticed something under the main bird feeder in the front yard. as i got closer to the window, it was certainly too big for a squirrel. and then i noticed the white streak. the only thing i could think was fuck me. where there is one skunk, there are usually more. it was eating the seeds that the storm had knocked out of the bird feeder. i didn't want to startle it in case it would spray, but when i opened the door it did nothing. that makes me think it's used to people and this area. just fucking great. here i left the farm thinking this shit was a thing of the past. oh well.

NJPW was excellent last night. i am more and more tempted to get the streaming service that NJPW offers. of course, if i had a paying job, i'd probably already have it.

team USA started off strong but then decided to take the next 30 minutes off against Peru in their friendly last night. so, i wasn't surprised when Peru was winning at half 1-0. thankfully, the boys showed some fucking urgency and actually played the best i've seen them play in months in the second half. Jozy scored 2 goals to give the USA the win, 2-1. here are some highlights:

the New York Yankees had 4 hits last night. 3 of them left the yard. Severino once again pitched like a budding superstar and the Yankees won 5-2. luckily, they won on a night Toronto finally lost, so now they are only a 1/2 game out of first place. they are tied in the loss column. the Yankees go for the series win this afternoon.

those two victory beers helped ease the pain of the rain last night for sure. plus, once i actually got to sleep, i stayed asleep for a change.

enjoy some music kids:

now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH. i will spend most of today watching college football and baseball. i may sprinkle in some European soccer if i remember to look for it. other than that, if the weather isn't too damn hot or stormy, i may end up helping mom do some stuff around the house.

i guess we are doing my sister's birthday on Monday morning. i imagine that means breakfast at Waffle House.

my mother and sister are next door having breakfast with my aunt and uncle. the joy of not being big on family is i never feel like i am missing something by not going.

that's all for me today. i want to get a good long shower in before the games come on.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully the weather in your neck of the woods is great. enjoy some drinks, some good food, a cheap date and enough sex that you have something to write or remember in the future.

flip the damn switch

i don't know what is, but the New York Rangers are a completely different animal when facing elimination. i was confident last night, but cautious. by the end of the game, i was fully convinced that this is the year.

the Rangers started off strong, scoring first. it was also the first of three goals for Derick Brassard:
the King was back to being THE KING:
the Rangers exploded in the 3rd period to take a 2-1 game they were barely winning into a 7-3 convincing defeat. yet another series for the Rangers that is 3-3. given their record in elimination games and Game 7's at home, i think i will go with the goalie that is on the verge of setting the NHL record for Game 7 wins. that game comes on Friday. i have no doubts that MSG will be the loudest building on earth that night. enjoy some highlights:

to double my pleasure last night, the New York Yankees got some strong pitching and got some timely hitting to win 5-1. this afternoon they go for the sweep against one of the best teams in baseball. such a crazy damn sport.

as you might imagine, i was feeling pretty damn good after two victory beers.

had some weather roll through the area yesterday. kind of eerie, the place that mom and i were at over the weekend got hit with a tornado. i'm starting to think maybe it's me. we just got some rain here.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground as it is on the same time as NXT is on the WWE Network. and seeing that the Yankees play this afternoon, tonight is going to be pro wrestling and some playoff basketball and hockey.

speaking of playoff basketball, i did watch a little of the Cavs sweeping the Hawks last night:
if LeBron leads Cleveland to winning a championship, you might as well name the fucking city after him. if you ever wanted to see what it would look like to see someone treated like an actual deity, we are 4 Cleveland wins away from seeing it.

the lawn company treated the grass this morning, so i'm happy i fed the birds yesterday. hopefully the new furniture gets here before the next round of thunderstorms are supposed to start.

that's all for me kids. i actually got a shower in early this morning, so i'm feeling pretty good at the moment. i'm sure once the rain gets closer, or the Yankees start losing, that will all change.

phat Tuesday

i guess i needed some sleep. i feel like i slept most of last night and this morning. somewhere around 7 hours or so. that's an eternity for me. but, that probably means i'll be up all damn night. great.

let's go back to yesterday afternoon and the Manchester United game. for some fucking reason, this team has fallen into the trap of only coming alive when they get scored on first. it reminds me of the last few years of when Sir Alex was there. and much like back then, the absolute fear of losing must be strong. United came from behind to win 3-1. they advance in the FA Cup to host Arsenal in a few weeks. below are some highlights from the game:

i didn't watch much of the New York Rangers game yesterday. the Islanders scored 11 seconds into the game and i was beyond fucking pissed. when they went up 2-0 i turned the channel and decided i wasn't going to watch another fucking loss to that team. i checked online later and noticed the score was 4-3. i resisted the temptation to turn back to the game. when the Rangers completed the comeback and won 6-5, then i flipped back to the post game interviews and whatnot. needless to say, but that victory beer tasted so fucking good. below are the highlights:

The Jinx was really good. i'm really interested to see where the show goes next week.

Gotham was fucking awesome last night. i absolutely love that show.

Monday Night Raw was interesting last night. i definitely thought it was better than last week. the brawl at the end of the show was really good. that should have the fans fully invested for Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns. the highlight of the night for me was the interaction between HHH and Ric Flair. that certainly put a smile on my face:

when i went out to feed the cats, clean off the sidewalks, etc early this afternoon, i was very thankful it had warmed up to 15 degrees. i believe we hit a high of 21 today. fucking heatwave. i am shocked that i haven't found any dead cats, especially since these fuckers haven't figured out that water does fucking freeze.

mom and i went to the grocery store today. i figured it would be easier to do it today than when it's going to be below zero later in the week. i certainly saw some eye candy in the grocery store. i think a few might even make me put pen to paper soon. all in all, not a bad trip.

i have nothing on television tonight that i'm planning on watching. i figure it will be some home improvement shows and then the news.

i hope everyone is doing well. hopefully this finds you warm with a stiff drink or something else stiff in your hand. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a little warning for all of you... there may be a few days coming up that i will be completely offline. given the move and the potential chaos coming, i'm not going to try to find time to squeeze in my blog when that time isn't going to exist. now, i'm certainly hoping i can get this move done and not miss any days on here. but, don't be shocked if that miracle doesn't happen. especially when i'm dealing with a shitty ass company like Frontier Communications.

victory beers and the lost art of tuning out the world

i have a crazy hair on my neck that is driving me fucking nuts at the moment. not sure why i'm sharing that other than the bizarre visual that some of you might get out of that.

last night was an interesting one for me. after my quiet time with the swimsuit issue, i took a shower. i got out just in time for the New York Rangers game.

i decided to watch the Toronto feed for the game. of course, when the Rangers took the lead, i couldn't change over to the New York feed. i was extremely pissed when the Rangers gave up a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period. thankfully, they found a way to get the next goal and win the game 5-4. way too fucking sloppy for my taste. here are some highlights from the game:

the game got over in the middle of the first half of the Dayton Flyers game. to say the basketball game was ugly is like saying Kanye has a massive ego. the game was bowling shoe ugly. both teams played like shit. now, i love defense, but sometimes it's actually called horrific shooting. thankfully, Dayton played just well enough to hang around and Saint Louis did exactly what they have done all season, folded down the stretch. Dayton scored the last 10 points of the game to win 51-44. what could be considered highlights are here:

those two victory beers really helped me sleep. at least it feels like they did. we got a little ice overnight it looked like. thankfully the sun is out now, taking care of it.

Manchester United plays Burnley this afternoon. it is an absolute MUST WIN game at home. i feel like they will win, but i'd love to see them be ruthless in this game. win by like 5 or 6 goals and i'll feel like they have a real shot at beating out these other teams for the top 4. just get by like they have been doing and i'll feel like it is last season all over again, except for the winning part.

after the game, i believe mom and i are going to the grocery store. that will hopefully produce a few poems for me. i'd like to do some writing late tonight.

i'm really looking forward to Lucha Underground tonight. it should be rather entertaining, given what the previews look like.

if i don't do any writing tonight, i'll be playing catch up on some podcasts.

that's all for me. mom needs this computer and the cats are surely hungry by now. hope everyone has a great day. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

anger is a gift

to say i was a little pissed last night would be a huge fucking understatement. and it wasn't from one of my sports teams or some poems getting rejected or any of the first culprits you may think of. it was due to the main fucking culprit in my life these days... FRONTIER COMMUNICATIONS. the absolute worst piece of shit company i have ever dealt with in my ENTIRE fucking life. i was trying to download a song that i got for FREE last night and was wondering why i was having problems. i look over at the modem and sure enough, the fucking internet is out. was the weather bad? no. was there too many people on it? it was almost 11:45 at night. most people in this town are in bed by 10. i'm guessing it was something like some fucker hit the wrong button and couldn't give a shit. 2 hours later, it was still out. i was so fucking angry i went to sleep without having a victory beer. now, that's some anger if you know me. i got up at 5 this morning and it was back on. if not, i might be in jail for torching a building. chalk this up as reason 3,672 of why i am looking forward to moving.

my clusterfuck Monday was good. Monday Night Raw was pretty good after the first hour. thankfully, i didn't watch much of that. of course, i feel a big tease coming on with Daniel Bryan.

Gotham was fucking brilliant once again. this show is easily one of the best shows on television.

the New York Rangers overcame being completely brain dead at times last night to win 6-3. they play tomorrow night in a HUGE game against Boston. here are the highlights from last night:

since i fell asleep last night, i had to do the dishes this morning. i hit my fucking left leg on the dishwasher as i was taking the clean dishes out. nothing quite like drawing blood at 7 in the morning. and trust me, it still fucking hurts.

Manchester United advanced in the FA Cup today, winning 3-0. i was hoping for more goals, but Cambridge United put up a good fight. the boys now travel to Preston in the next round 13 days from now. i really hope this is the year they bring the FA Cup back to where it belongs. here are some highlights from today:

there really isn't much on tv tonight i'm planning on watching. maybe some college basketball, maybe some hockey. i'll probably just enjoy some victory beers and ice my fucking leg.

i'll be on here sometime tomorrow afternoon. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

drinking myself to sleep

this will be a quick one today as i literally have a ton of shit to do...

i did get some sleep last night, thanks to a victory beer and sheer exhaustion.

the Dayton Flyers did their best to piss away a 10 point lead at halftime against Richmond. thankfully, they held on and came through with a 63-60 victory. here are the highlights from the game:

after getting a bite to eat, mom and i went back home to get some packing done and watch Saturday Night Live.

i thought Blake Shelton did much better than i thought he would. here are two of the skits that made me laugh:

make sure you stick around to the end of this one:

ROH was excellent last night. they have started 2015 on fire.

so after i eat a little breakfast, pick up all the trash, feed the cats, get the paper, etc. etc., i'll be making the drive to Columbus with my mother. i guess the plan is to take her to her hotel and my sister and i will make our journey down to the NHL All-Star game. after the game, i figure we're going out to eat. now, it's supposed to snow. i don't trust these weather fucks around here, but they are saying 3-5 inches. that should get interesting.

i have no clue if my sister has HBO or Showtime, so i don't know if i'll be watching some or none of my usual Sunday night shows. if that's the case, i'll have to check when i catch them before next week. (DAMN, WHERE IS MY DVR) i'll also sneak a peek or two online at the results of the Royal Rumble tonight. i'm interested in seeing the direction the WWE goes as this kicks off the road to Wrestlemania.

i think mom and i will be back home at the farm sometime Monday night. i may do a quick blog that night, or maybe a big one on Tuesday morning.

that's all for me. i need to go check on some fixed roofs, feed some cats and explain to them why they won't get fed until late on Monday, and get 28 days of trash down to the end of the lane. that should be fun.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully mine gets even better. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the beauty of my mother's hearing going is her sense of smell is through the fucking roof now. so, we had the heating and air guy out today because both of us thought the smell of death in the house was coming from the furnace. the guy looked and looked and found nothing more than some debris. we concluded that something must have died in the walls of the old bathroom. well, at least we got the furnace cleaned. the smell doesn't really bother me as i have lived out here for 17 years and understand that death is part of the process. mom, on the other hand, is on the verge of puking anytime she smells it. the kicker in all of this is her bedroom is right next to the old bathroom. at least i believe i have convinced her we're not tearing down walls to go find something. hopefully.

last night was a pretty damn good one for me. The Big Bang Theory was pretty fucking funny. i got to see all of it because the Dayton Flyers have finally shred their mentality of playing down to their competition. of course, it also helps when you make 14 three pointers and use a junk defense with speed to confuse a 7 footer who should dominate a group of 6 scholarship players no taller than 6'6". hats off to Bobby Wehrli for his 9 points last night. not bad for a walk on pressed into playing close to 20 minutes every night. here are some highlights from the 78-61 win:

after that game, i enjoyed a victory beer and settled in for the New York Rangers game. when the Kings scored 2 quick goals in the first period i started having flashbacks to the playoffs. thankfully, these Rangers didn't do the same. they scored the next 4 goals and eventually held on for a 4-3 win. here are some highlights from the game:

that victory beer hit the spot a little too well. i had to piss around 3 in the morning. thankfully, i was able to fall back asleep afterwards. almost got 5 hours of sleep total. still, not nearly enough.

the weather here is in the process of going back into the deep freeze. we hit our high today of 22 around midnight. it's currently 8 degrees. i guess it's another night of well below zero again.

i don't have anything i'm planning on watching tonight. i'll probably bounce between some college hockey games and Treehouse Masters later tonight. i do know that i'm planning on taking a nice long shower after dinner. hopefully some hot water will do something for these old bones.

let's start the weekend with some humor. i watched this today and laughed my ass off. i hope you enjoy:

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully it will be full of sunshine and warmer temperatures than here. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

what to do with all these boxes

i decided to break out the vodka my sister got me for Christmas last night. lo and behold, i ended up writing 4 poems. the vodka is good. i'm hoping the poems are better. i typed them up this afternoon after the adventure my mother and i went on. more on that later. i'm not sure yet where i'll be sending these poems, but i'm hoping to get out another batch before 2015 rolls around.

i got up this morning in plenty of time to watch Manchester United. thankfully, the team is really starting to click. the won 3-1. 2 goals and an assist from Wayne Rooney. the other goal came from RVP. i finally am starting to believe that a top 4 finish this season is absolutely possible. here are some highlights from the game, in GIF form:

we needed to go out today to get ink for the printer and finally get a new shredder. along the way we got the paper, the mail, cat food and bird food. a big thank you to everyone that sent me Christmas cards. and a big thank you to John Sweet for the books. very much appreciated my friend. when we sat down for lunch this afternoon, i believe both my mother and i were spent. my mother had some gift cards for where we went, so lunch ended up being under $5. not bad when the original bill was over $35. it was a steakhouse by the way, that's why it was that expensive.

the sun was actually out today. so i finally got to use my new sunglasses. they worked really good, not that the sun is out enough around here to wear them all the time. but at least i know i have some good sunglasses once again.

i watched a ton of NBA basketball yesterday. that was good to get some naps in. i believe all the other sports start back up tomorrow. i know the New York Rangers play tomorrow night. i completely missed the start of the 2015 World Juniors today. i read about the Team USA win over Finland. i can't wait until the USA plays Canada. that is usually the New Year's Eve Hockey War.

today felt so much like a Saturday. hopefully a victory beer will get me back in the swing of things.

i have no clue what i'll be watching tonight on television. maybe some college football, maybe something on the Food Network. or, maybe i'll figure out where i'm sending some poems. your guess is as good as mine.

i'll be on here most likely in the afternoon tomorrow. i got a check in the mail today that i'd like to get to the bank tomorrow morning. so, i suppose sometime after that odyssey.

i hope everyone had a great Christmas. hopefully your Boxing Day was good as well. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

the eve of something

my neck still hurts. i figure it is a combination of the pinched nerve and the fucking weather. i see the doctor in a few days, so we'll see.

it has been very dreary and gloomy here today. rain and then more rain. and now some wind and the temperatures are dropping. have i ever told you how my bad back loves a cold front?

the Dayton Flyers took Georgia Tech behind the woodshed last night and beat the shit out of them. a 75-61 win that every fan will remember as a wonderful Christmas gift. the former coach of Dayton is still stuck in his ways that never got Dayton past superior mediocrity. i can't imagine he'll be at Georgia Tech for long. here are some highlights from last night:

after the game, i sat down in my chair to exhale and happened to look to the right. holy shit. the guy about 5 feet from me looks an awful like the pro wrestler Chris Hero. i tell my mom this because i bought one of his t-shirts for myself for Christmas. she looks at him and says that can't be him, too small. i take another look and say that's definitely him. sadly, he was busy talking to a guy and i'm not the type of asshole that will interrupt someone for a autograph or picture request. so, after we ate dinner at Waffle House, i got on the internet back at the farm. i went to his twitter account (@thechrishero) and sure enough, the last two tweets posted were about the Dayton basketball game. i showed my mother and she finally started to believe me.

i watched a little of the New York Rangers replay before i went to bed last night. i'm extremely happy with this 7 game winning streak. they are really starting to look like a team that can do some damage this season. here are some highlights from the 4-2 win over Washington:

those two victory beers went down very quickly. i think i may crack open the vodka my sister got me for Christmas to celebrate my fantasy football championship.

i've been a busy boy today on iTunes. you'll see what i'm talking about below.

i hope everyone is having a great Christmas Eve. whether you are with family or a hooker, i do hope you enjoy your time. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

sleep... say what?

i'm running on 4 hours sleep at the moment and a victory beer. good times my friends.

as always, let's start with the bad news. the Dayton Flyers got their asses handed to them yesterday at Arkansas 69-55. the game never got closer than 11 in the second half. they don't play again until Saturday against Boston University. that should be a game where they get to take some frustration out on a team. hopefully.

the game last night between Columbus and Pittsburgh was one of the 5 best hockey games i have ever been to in my life. i told my friend Paul after the game, he should consider himself lucky that that game was his first NHL game. it had a bit of everything; fights, power play goal, short handed goal, penalty shot goal, overtime, shootout, and the building was probably 75% Penguins fans. Columbus won in a shootout 4-3.

we went out to eat afterwards and my sister picked up the check. thank you very much. it was a late drive home. we didn't get back home until after 1 AM. it was after Saturday Night Live and ROH. but, i did catch a bit of the New York Rangers highlights.

the Rangers won 5-1 last night in Vancouver. if this team can keep scoring goals like that, they could have another special season. here are some highlights:

as for Saturday Night Live, thanks to YouTube i saw most of what i missed. this one did make me laugh today:

after checking my email, i didn't get to bed until 4 AM. i was up this morning by 8 AM. all because of my hatred for a certain team. thankfully, Manchester United made sure today was going to be a good one for me.

Manchester United defeated Liverpool 3-0. goals from Rooney, Mata and RVP. but the man that made the 3-0 win possible was this man:
he is quickly becoming the best goalkeeper in the WORLD. he was simply magnificent today. i will be enjoying this victory beer for the rest of the day.

all my injury concerns for my fantasy football playoff game turned out to be ok. hopefully i can advance to the finals.

i got all the trash picked up and taken down to the lane. i fed the cats, who didn't like that i waited until after i watched the episode of ROH i missed last night. sorry fuckers, it was worth it. the tag match of The Young Bucks vs. ACH and Matt Sydal was fucking awesome.

i'm going to now read the Sunday paper and start watching some football games.

tonight, the New York Rangers play in Edmonton. i'm hoping to squeeze the game around my usual Sunday night viewing. i am really looking forward to the series finale of The Newsroom tonight. also tonight, i'll be watching Homeland and The Affair.

and then, hopefully getting some sleep.

hope everyone is having a great weekend. if not, drink something stronger.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

and then the days all start to bleed together...

it started to lightly rain sometime last night. i suppose that would explain why i had a hard time sleeping last night. there's a chance for snow today, though it's not supposed to accumulate. i figure it will start when i'm driving and stop as soon as i turn the car off.

the New York Rangers fell behind early last night but had a great second period. they scored again in the 3rd to go up 3-1. at this point, i was really happy with how they were playing. of course, that wouldn't last. the fucking Penguins scored 2 goals in 24 seconds to tie the game, which eventually went into OT. thankfully, Kevin Klein once again came through in the clutch. after needing 13 or so stitches to reattach part of his ear, he scored the winning goal in OT. that's what i love about hockey players... tough sons of bitches. here are the highlights from the game:

i thought all of the performances on The Voice last night were good. i have no clue who gets voted off tonight. the only locks to advance in my head are Matt (team Adam) and Craig (team Blake). i won't get to see the show tonight as i will be at a basketball game.

i thought Monday Night Raw was pretty good. the show just sort of dragged for me. of course, anytime you end a show with John Cena going through a table, i'll be happy. i didn't agree with all the winners of the Slammy Awards last night, but in terms of wrestling fans, i'm a senior citizen.

i really enjoyed my two victory beers last night. i had the Winter Lager from Sam Adams. first time i have tried this one. i must say, Sam Adams has yet to make a beer that i don't like.

i wasn't surprised the Yankees let their closer leave via free agency. with the reliever they already signed, they basically saved $10 million. now, if they use that money wisely, i'll be fine with this decision. do nothing with it, and i'll be fucking furious. they do get a draft pick for him leaving, but they hardly ever draft anyone that makes an immediate impact.

i'm cutting this one a little short as i have cats to feed and shit around the house to get done. plus, i would imagine the people that sit around me at the basketball games would prefer i take a shower.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight against Bowling Green. this might actually be their toughest game of the season so far. it should be a pretty physical game. i'm hoping i will be enjoying a victory beer when i get home tonight.

thanks again to all 3 of you for allowing me to waste your precious time.

heavy on nostalgia

today is one of those days that you suddenly realize just how fucking old you are. and it's not that you had to vacuum the steps while your back was killing you. it's the fact that today starts the final home stand of Derek Jeter's career. and when you sit back and realize you've watched all 20 of his seasons, the joints start to ache and all you want to do is sit back in the chair and relive some championships.

the Yankees did win last night, 3-2. that was a nice victory beer, as they at least won the last game Jeter will play in that dump in Tampa. i saw this ad today and i have to admit, i did get tears. this will be tougher than i thought watching The Captain leave...

Big Brother was pretty good last night. i'm pretty sure that Caleb didn't see his eviction coming at all. it's pretty safe to say that the guys will be in the final 2 as Victoria hasn't won shit all summer.

The Bridge was excellent last night. the ending had me on the edge of my seat. i can't wait until next week.

tonight i'll be flipping between some baseball and football, both pro and college. at 10 i'll flip over to FX and watch the season finales of Married and You're the Worst.

on top of doing the stairs today, i also had dishes and toilets on the list. let's just say my back needs some ice.

i feel like i may have some words to get down on the page later tonight. i know when i start talking to myself and coming up with lines out of nowhere, something is coming.

i got 2 GREAT albums on NoiseTrade today for FREE. i highly recommend both of these. links will be in the music section.

the weather has been damn near perfect today. low 70's and hardly any humidity. i'd take it like this every damn day if i could.

that's all for me today. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

there must be rain on the way

when i got out of bed this morning, i think i felt every bone in my body make a sound. you would think i played professional football at one point in my life. i say that because i ended up watching way more of the pro football hall of fame inductions than i thought i was going to. many of the guys certainly brought back memories of my youth. that's not always a good thing.

i think mom has found the next vehicle she wants. she really liked the Rav4 she saw yesterday. i think she's going to test drive it today. if she ends up getting it, then i would get her Highlander. it has nearly 200,000 miles on it, but it would be the first vehicle i would own that was built in this century. to say it would be an upgrade would be a HUGE understatement. keep your fingers crossed kids.

saw this amazing woman in the grocery store yesterday. of course, her kid was with her. and i noticed the ring on the finger. that didn't stop my imagination. i'm sure that glimpse of her perfect ass will give me poems for weeks. good times.

Manchester United looked like the Manchester United of the late 90's yesterday, beating Real Madrid 3-1 in front of 109,318 fans. that is easily a record to see a soccer game in the USA. what amazed me is how well Ashley Young is playing. of course, it is the pre-season. they advanced to the finals of this tournament, facing Liverpool in Miami, Florida on Monday night. that should be an interesting one. hopefully the boys go back home with a trophy.

the Yankees came from behind to win yesterday, 6-4. they'll try to win the series tonight. at least the teams in front of them lost yesterday so they made up some ground. hopefully that will continue.

2 victory beers in one day. maybe that is why i got almost 6 hours of sleep last night.

ROH was really good last night. i was happy they had Cedric Alexander win the gauntlet match. i really think he can be a star one of these days. amazing talent.

i guess i need to get my lazy ass in gear now. i still have the cats to feed, trash to pick up, and days of dishes to do. and my back feels absolutely horrible. good times.

looking forward to the usual Sunday night in front of the television. Big Brother, Ray Donovan, The Strain, Last Week Tonight, and Masters of Sex.

hopefully i'll have enough energy left over to get a nice writing session in.

that's all for me folks. i do hope everyone is having a great weekend.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me cash. be kind to others. and be first to kick wolf man in the nards.

still alive and kicking

the New York Rangers showed life last night, got some great puck luck, and The King stood on his head. he stopped 40 of 41 shots last night and the Rangers won 2-1. this forces the series back out west for Game 5 on Friday. here are the highlights:

the Yankees got a great start from Tanaka (minus the Cano HR in the 9th), a rare 3 run HR from Tex and won 4-2. Tanaka is fucking amazing. he is now 10-1 on the season. worth every fucking penny they spent on him. they go for the sweep tonight.

not sure when the last time i had two victory beers in a night was. feels like weeks. needless to say, i slept well last night.

the World Cup starts today with Brazil vs. Croatia. i think this match will be a little tighter than most people believe it will be.

after that, i really need to get the fucking dishes done. i've been a lazy bastard here for the last few days. of course, i probably will be that way for the next month as well.

tonight, i will be watching a little basketball, some baseball, and god knows what else. chances are i will fall asleep at some point as the weather continues to fuck with my back.

mom got me this cool ass New York Rangers shirt. it arrived today in the mail. has all the players names on it, forming a big NY. pretty damn cool. will be even cooler if they happen to win it all.

that's pretty much all for me today. i'll be on here tomorrow with some World Cup updates, my thoughts heading into Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, some NBA musings, some bathroom humor, maybe some poetry news, and who knows what else.

hope everyone is well. hope everyone enjoys the World Cup. i decided i'm drinking anytime the USA wins (since i'm American), anytime Germany wins (since i'm part German), and anytime a Manchester United player scores (since i'm an alcoholic).

after 20 long years...

i read last night that the Rangers were going to treat Game 6 like it was Game 7. so, i decided to do the same thing. i put on my favorite clothes knowing damn well if they lost, i was getting matches and a trash can. and i certainly didn't want to burn these clothes. so, when the Rangers won 1-0 to advance to their first Stanley Cup Final in 20 years, i was very fucking happy and relieved at the same time.

it was easily the best game the Rangers have played in the entire playoffs. they smothered Montreal for the entire game. it's really hard to believe that i was getting ready to graduate from high school the last time the Rangers made it this far into the playoffs. hopefully they win the damn thing so growing this beard was worth it.

winning goal from Dominic Moore. Hank with his 9th career playoff shutout. he also set the team record for playoff wins. they get some days off now as the finals don't start until Wednesday. they will be playing at Chicago or Los Angeles. given how good they have been on the road for the last few months, i'm fine with that. if the finals get to a Game 6, that is on my mother's birthday. that will get a little interesting.

my sister happens to be in New York City today and has sent my mom pictures of all the Rangers stuff around town. she said it is nuts. i'm hoping she gets me something nice while she's there.

needless to say, i had one of the sweetest victory beers of my life last night. and then i did the dishes as i knew damn well i'd be up for hours. and i was. i don't think i got to bed until around 4 in the morning. was up by 8, because who the fuck needs sleep.

the Yankees play tonight at home against the Twins. they have owned the Twins over the years. hopefully that continues.

i'll bounce between that and the playoff games tonight in hockey and basketball. and if i somehow get bored, there's always the Food Network and pro wrestling. such a rich, sophisticated white trash life i live.

the weather has been fucking amazing here today. hardly any humidity, a little wind, plenty of sunshine, but not crazy hot. it's supposed to be like this all weekend. hopefully, for once, those fuckers on tv are correct.

i'll probably do a little poetry work this weekend. i'd like to get some submissions out the first week of June.

had a little fun on iTunes this afternoon. you'll see that madness below.

hope everyone has a great weekend. be well. be safe. be drunk. be the crazy fucker that jumps off a building to prove he can fly.
