here's hoping the game will be better than the commercials...

all my bets are in for the Super Bowl. i am leaning towards the Chiefs winning a close one. i'm tired of losing money to Patrick Mahomes. hopefully i'll win a few bets and have good things to say tomorrow. of course, if Manchester United loses before the Super Bowl today, i won't be in a good mood regardless. they play at Aston Villa.

felt like the old times...

so, mom actually decided to go to her physical therapy session today. that gave me a chance to write some poems. i did get five written. i think they are pretty good, especially since all of them came to me in a matter of twenty minutes. after that, she wanted something to drink. i went and got her a large diet coke. after i got her home, i needed to go to Rite Aid to get my prescriptions and to Big Lots to use this coupon i had. i was really happy that Rite Aid was able to fix the fuck up that Kroger did. and amazingly, the 3 prescriptions cost me $7. i was fucking thrilled at that. i got some baseball cards, some dipping sauces that mom wanted, and some bandages she needed, all at Big Lots. after my $5 coupon, that all cost me $13. not a bad fucking shopping day. the baseball cards were two 2021 Topps Allen & Ginter packs. one had a mini rare rookie card in it that is going for over $10 these days. that made me pretty happy.

Vice News Tonight had two great shows this week.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Celebrity Big Brother and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.

i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning. hopefully, i will be in a good mood.

i think the USA men's hockey team plays Canada tonight at the Winter Olympics. so, basically, i might get a few hours of sleep before i get up to watch United in the morning. add in all the Super Bowl shit this weekend and i might as well forget about getting any sleep.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

if you are gambling on the Super Bowl, best of luck to you.

if i had money to gamble, i would take the Bengals at +4. i would take the over and i would take tails for the coin toss. now, if anyone out there bets that and wins, feel free to send me a little something.

i should have just stayed in bed

i could tell after watching a few minutes of the Manchester United game this morning that United was going to be in trouble. Newcastle had a plan and they were sticking to it. sure enough, United wasn't clinical when they had the few chances they got today and they gave up a fucking set piece at the wrong fucking time. Newcastle won 1-0. i truly hope this isn't what this fucking day is going to be like.

i read a review of Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars that said the documentary was dull. i'm guessing the reviewer isn't a fan of the music or perhaps just has a shitty life to begin with. i found the documentary to be very good and heartbreaking at the same time. i truly understand now why Eric was attracted to blues music at such a young age. and i think he may have given me one of the greatest lines i have ever heard. i couldn't bring myself to suicide because i wouldn't be able to have my next drink. that's fucking genius. i highly recommend checking this out if you love music or just love a tragic story that has an unexpected ending.

ROH was excellent last night.

the Dayton Flyers played a pretty good first half yesterday and got a long range buzzer beater to go in to have the lead at halftime against VCU. they took all that momentum and managed to piss it away to fall behind by 17 points in the second half. they managed to dig themselves out of that hole with a furious run to send the game to overtime. but, since Dayton's coach doesn't believe in playing the bench, the guys ran out of fucking gas. it doesn't help when your senior leader is a fucking turnover waiting to happen. and when the coach basically says after the game that the reason only 7 players played for Dayton was a coaching decision because he thought the players on the court were doing a good enough job... it just makes you want to bang your head against a brick wall. my new conspiracy theory is the coach knows he can't coach these players so he's trying to get them to transfer or leave the school so he can bring in players that he wants to think he can coach. even a decent fucking coach would try to make something out of what he has. but Anthony Grant knows the school doesn't have the balls to fire an alumni after just 1 season. VCU won yesterday 88-84 in OT.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Celebrity Big Brother, Our Cartoon President, Homeland, The Chi, Here and Now, Crashing and Divorce.

we got some freezing rain last night. i nearly fell on the driveway this morning while going to get the paper. thankfully, i was able to get to the grass and get down there without falling.

USA Soccer elected a new president yesterday. i guess they decided that the status quo is good enough.

i think i have to take mom to have some testing done tomorrow for her disability claim. i believe that is in the morning. so, i'll probably be on here after that happens.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon up in Winnipeg. i'd love to see them build on their win against Calgary, but i'm not counting on it.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

2 hours in the grocery store should be against the law

hopefully our pantry never gets barren ever again. after spending 2 hours in a grocery store where people are in a panic because more snow is coming... fucking kill me now.

before the grocery store, mom and i decided to go out for lunch. while we were sitting there, i noticed some water dripping from the ceiling right onto the table where this black guy was sitting. he looked up and said what the fuck, got his bill and left. as soon as he left the table, the water stopped dripping. my first thought was apparently someone is racist. not sure who yet.

this blog may be a little disjointed as the shows i normally watch are getting ready to come on. so hopefully you the reader won't notice that i'm simply typing during commercial breaks.

the New York Rangers played great last night once they found their legs. they beat Pittsburgh 3-0. considering who the Rangers are without at the moment, this was a statement game from them. that's 4 wins in a row. hopefully they are starting to go back in the right direction for the playoffs.

NXT was excellent last night. i really enjoyed the main event between Carmella and Bayley. and then the interaction at the end when Asuka came out was a nice touch. i can't wait to see Bayley vs. Asuka. that has classic written all over it.

Lucha Underground was great once again last night. i got a big smile on my face when i saw Joey Ryan. he can only make the show even better. if you aren't watching Lucha Underground, you should be.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, WWE Smackdown, Lip Sync Battle and Baskets.

i got some great FREE music today on NoiseTrade. i'll post the link below in the music section.

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i want to get all those poems out and i hope to have that done before Dayton plays tomorrow night. we'll see.

i hope this finds everyone warm and enjoying something or someone or something on someone.

victory beers and the lost art of tuning out the world

i have a crazy hair on my neck that is driving me fucking nuts at the moment. not sure why i'm sharing that other than the bizarre visual that some of you might get out of that.

last night was an interesting one for me. after my quiet time with the swimsuit issue, i took a shower. i got out just in time for the New York Rangers game.

i decided to watch the Toronto feed for the game. of course, when the Rangers took the lead, i couldn't change over to the New York feed. i was extremely pissed when the Rangers gave up a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period. thankfully, they found a way to get the next goal and win the game 5-4. way too fucking sloppy for my taste. here are some highlights from the game:

the game got over in the middle of the first half of the Dayton Flyers game. to say the basketball game was ugly is like saying Kanye has a massive ego. the game was bowling shoe ugly. both teams played like shit. now, i love defense, but sometimes it's actually called horrific shooting. thankfully, Dayton played just well enough to hang around and Saint Louis did exactly what they have done all season, folded down the stretch. Dayton scored the last 10 points of the game to win 51-44. what could be considered highlights are here:

those two victory beers really helped me sleep. at least it feels like they did. we got a little ice overnight it looked like. thankfully the sun is out now, taking care of it.

Manchester United plays Burnley this afternoon. it is an absolute MUST WIN game at home. i feel like they will win, but i'd love to see them be ruthless in this game. win by like 5 or 6 goals and i'll feel like they have a real shot at beating out these other teams for the top 4. just get by like they have been doing and i'll feel like it is last season all over again, except for the winning part.

after the game, i believe mom and i are going to the grocery store. that will hopefully produce a few poems for me. i'd like to do some writing late tonight.

i'm really looking forward to Lucha Underground tonight. it should be rather entertaining, given what the previews look like.

if i don't do any writing tonight, i'll be playing catch up on some podcasts.

that's all for me. mom needs this computer and the cats are surely hungry by now. hope everyone has a great day. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

feeling pretty good right about now

had an afternoon of watching team USA in women's water polo (you're right if you think i was just watching hoping for underwater bare breasts) win a gold medal, team USA in women's soccer get a little revenge on Japan and win gold 2-1 (thank you Carli Lloyd and Hope Solo) and then the Yankees overcome the weather and shitty umpires and get a split against the Tigers (thank god Eric Chavez has found the fountain of youth). not a bad way to spend a few hours.

started off this morning listening to episode #25 of The Sam Roberts Show Online. another great podcast and another mention of my name. go to http://notsam.com/podcast.html to check out the shows and help him out if you can.

i sent out 3 poems to Jellyfish Whispers at the request of Russell over at The Camel Saloon. hopefully his instincts are good and i have good news to report soon.

weather permitting (the only drawback of DIRECTV quite honestly) i'll be enjoying my usual Thursday night fare. hopefully Janelle gets evicted tonight on Big Brother and then FX continues to entertain the shit out of me with Wilfred and Louie.

and tomorrow will be a laundry day and if no one fucks up at my local post office, my shipment from amazon.com should be waiting for me. shaping up to be 2 good days in a row. holy fucking shit.
