at least the trash was picked up before the winds got really bad. i had to take the highway home from the grocery store. that got really fucking interesting. nothing like a semi hauling nothing in 50 MPH winds while i'm trying to get on the highway. joy.
the Dayton Flyers won last night at home against Saint Louis, 75-67.
NXT was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite, The Masked Singer and Abbott Elementary.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Washington.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays at Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
i did watch some of the CONCACAF Champions Cup last night.
it was raining today while i was grocery shopping. my arthritis loved that. at least there was a bagger this time.
i need to go figure out dinner.

so, let me begin where this little adventure called life left off yesterday. i needed the top team in the Mexican soccer league to beat one of the worst ones to get a 5 team parlay to hit. so, i watched them lose at home to that lower team, 2-1. now, apparently, that set off a major case of bad mojo as most of my bets this morning are fucking losers. that includes Manchester United losing at home to Crystal Palace, 1-0. as soon as Palace scored this morning, i fucking turned the game off and got ready to go to the bank. this is going to be one of those days where i know i will need to be extra vigilant with my own anger.
the New York Yankees lost last night at Kansas City, 12-5. why does it feel like the Yankees are going to swept to end the season?
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.
the Rangers play at the Islanders tonight. i'll probably only get to see the highlights of that.
i might watch some of the MLS games tonight.
i do plan on watching NXT No Mercy tonight on Peacock.
i should be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play.
hard to believe that tomorrow is the first day of October.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
i remember this holiday was a fun one for me when i was a kid. fireworks, cookouts, parties, sunshine, etc... but now as an adult, fireworks don't do anything for me. if i would be having a cookout, i would be the one cooking. i haven't been to a party in years. sunshine isn't that big of a deal to me ever since mom got skin cancer. and the true meaning of independence day is lost on so many sheep in this country. and besides that, not everyone is allowed to celebrate this day. which honestly, to see the amount of bigotry and ignorance still in this country in 2022 is beyond fucking depressing.
and speaking of that, i sat down to write yesterday. 2 hours of sitting and looking at a blank page. 2 hours of nothing. so, now i really know i am depressed. i was hoping a shower at 3 in the morning would help. i got out this morning and fed the birds and watered the tomato plants. and yeah, still fucking depressed. so yeah, not exactly the mood i wanted for the 4th of July.
the Yankees had more errors than hits yesterday. they lost to Cleveland, 2-0. they are off today and start a series in Pittsburgh tomorrow night.
the season finale of The Man Who Fell to Earth was excellent last night.
both episodes of We Hunt Together were good last night. i might just binge the series later this week since there are only 6 episodes.
The Chi was excellent last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was pretty funny last night.
Westworld was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and Miz and Mrs.
the USWNT plays tonight against Haiti in group play of the CONCACAF women's championship.
i did watch most of the USMNT U-20 game last night against the Dominican Republic. the USA won 6-0 to win the tournament.
the only tradition i have for the 4th of July anymore is watching the hot dog eating contest. i have that on in the background right now.
Joey Chestnut won his 15th title, eating 63 hot dogs. just imagine that bowel movement.
i did listen to episode 402 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
hard to believe 20 years has gone by already. are we a better country now? in some ways, yes. did we give up too much of our personal freedom? yes. did we ever put a fucking dent in the war on terrorism? no. what pisses me off the most about this anniversary is the chance we had as a nation to truly come together and how it was pissed away by the pure fucking greed of the fucks in this country that get off on murder and war. i truly feel for everyone that lost a loved one on 9/11. no one deserves that pain. but seeing all these bullshit documentaries coming on and fudging the truth to the point where even a fucking imbecile can realize they are watching propaganda, who the fuck needs that bullshit, either? if you are going to be patriotic today, go right ahead. just don't be fucking blind.
the Yankees had their asses handed to them last night by the Mets, 10-3. i doubt it will be much different tonight.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be ROH.
so, i never thought i would see the day of Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Manchester United again. this game today against Newcastle is going to feel surreal. but, hopefully he starts, scores a couple goals and United wins and the dream of actually watching him lift a trophy again in those colors could be one step closer to a reality.
right after that, Ohio State takes on Oregon in the home opener up in Columbus. hopefully, Ohio State will win again.
i'm sure i will watch plenty of college football today and hopefully get a few naps in as well.
my sister did have dinner with us last night. she's not that cool with being out in public during a pandemic and can't really understand why her friends are. i'm not sure she thought she was going to watch all that wrestling last night, but i'm sure it didn't kill her. she did like her birthday gifts.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning, long before the New Orleans Saints play in the afternoon.

remember how i was going to have the blog done before my sister got down here, etc. etc... well, the joy of a bad back is when that happens, your day just turns to shit.
now, i did manage to get the poems out this morning. i sent out 11 poems; 3 each to Terror House Magazine and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 poems to Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication). when i hear back from the other places, i will pass along the verdicts.
so, the Yankees got swept last night, losing yet again to the Toronto, 6-4. the Yankees now are clinging to a playoff spot by 1/2 game. they are on fucking life support. they start a series tonight at the Mets, and given what tomorrow is, it should an emotional roller coaster.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Big Brother went as i expected it to last night. Claire got evicted and then Alyssa went in the second eviction. so, The Cookout is the final 6, all of whom are black. i don't mind that at all, but i can't remember Big Brother ever having 6 minorities on the show ever to begin with, so what they did was never possible before. now, it will be fun to watch them have to destroy each other.
Holey Moley was great last night.
When Nature Calls was hilarious last night.
What We Do in the Shadows was crazy last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was the sneak peek of the new episodes starting next week.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
so, not only is tomorrow the 20th anniversary of 9/11 it is also a crazy fucking sports day for me. Manchester United will play in the morning and that will mark the glorious (hopefully) return to the club of CR7. after that game, the Ohio State vs. Oregon game will be on. so, i am really going to try to get the blog done before all of that starts tomorrow. if not, it will come after it is all done.
my sister brought me some hockey cards she found. she paid $5 for them. i paid her the $5 and there was about $20 worth of cards in the packs. that made me pretty happy.
so, mom wanted me to go out with her to check on the tomatoes this afternoon. of course, i look away to pick some of the cherry tomatoes and she falls down somehow into the grass. this shit frustrates the living shit out of me. i try to explain to her, she can't do more than one thing at a time. and i mean it that exact way. if you are going to think, then do that first. then walk. you can't do both at the same time. i'm just happy she didn't fall on the concrete porch as i'm sure she would have broken something. my sister came out when she heard me say god dammit as loud as i could. good times.
i am going to make some burgers for dinner tonight. i have no clue if my sister will be eating dinner with us or her friends.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

watching this crowd of dumb fucks crash the capitol building today was like watching Senior Day at high school but there was more drugs and alcohol involved. i would love if the protestors that left the bombs or took pictures at the podiums, etc. i fucking would love if they all get arrested and charged with crimes. and i am fucking happier than shit that one of them got shot and died. this is what happens with a cult you dumb fucks.
so, last night i witnessed a team i have loved since birth lose to a team of fucking clowns for the first time in 15 years. Dayton lost to Fordham, 55-54. this is a team that plays down to its competition and has a coach unwilling to coach it out of them. you can tell this team misses Obi so damn much and is fucking unwilling to give two shits about figuring out how to win without him. they play at Davidson on Friday. i wouldn't be shocked if Davidson hands them their asses on national television.
thankfully, the USA vs. Canada game went much better. the USA defeated Canada 2-0 to win the gold at the world juniors. it's always nice to see Canadian tears on Canadian soil when the USA wins.
i took a shower last night and i guess i got the water a little too hot. i have a tendency of passing out when that happens. of course, as i have gotten older, it usually results in me having to take a shit. good times.
i did find it funnier than shit that the Democrats won both races in Georgia last night. poor Mitch, now the minority leader. going to be funny actually seeing shit get done in the Senate now.

so, i did get all the grocery shopping done in time to watch the Manchester United game today. i kind of wish i would have just stuck to my usual schedule so i could have been spared watching them fucking lose to Manchester City in yet another semifinal of a competition. fuck me. United lost 2-0.
i did get some baseball cards at Rite-Aid today. there really wasn't much in the Fairfield box. i might have made back what i paid for it, maybe.

i was hoping to get to bed at a decent hour last night. i'm slowly realizing hope has no place in my life anymore. so, on 3 hours of sleep, i got up this morning around 8 and started my day.
i went to the bank to make a deposit. thankfully, the bank i normally go to is open again. after that, i went to get some baseball cards. the local drugstore is the only place where i live where i can find any cards. of course, what i was looking for they didn't have. so, i picked up some football cards and some baseball cards from Fairfield. these are usually hit or miss, but since i knew i was getting a discount on both of them, i decided fuck it. both boxes came up to under $10.
the football cards were ok for the most part, nothing really "holy shit" great. that came with the baseball cards. the box i bought actually had a hit in it. i found a 2016 Topps Chrome Autographed Blake Snell rookie card in it. that card usually goes for around $30. so, i think i made a nice little investment today. hopefully, i'll be able to sell that card soon and make a little profit.
Axios was really good last night.
Monday Night Raw was good, but not nearly as good as it should have been.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
here are your NHL highlights from last night:
the Yankees lost to Tampa last night, 5-3. i thought for awhile they were going to get no-hit last night. thankfully, that didn't happen. the Yankees are just too depleted to pose as much of a challenge to Tampa right now. and i doubt the Yankees will get healthy enough to really mount a fight for the division title.
enjoy some music:

i just got my laundry done before i started writing this. my back is killing me and i'm wiping tears. so, i have no clue how long this one will be.
the New York Yankees lost a crazy game to Detroit last night, 12-11. hopefully, they will win tonight, weather permitting.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
the season finale of Deadliest Catch was excellent last night.
Mayans M.C. was really good last night.

when i got up this morning around 6 to piss, i just felt so fucking tired that for a change, i decided to go back to bed. amazingly, when i woke up again it was almost 10 in the morning. so much for getting anything done in the morning. hell, i was drinking coffee when i'm usually eating lunch.
apparently my bitching worked. i got the copies of my new chapbook in the mail yesterday. just 15 days after they were mailed. so, if you would be interested in an autographed copy of the taste of blood on christmas morning, email me (jcampb4593@aol.com) and i'm sure we can work something out. if you are interested in getting the book from the publisher, go here: http://www.analogsubmission.com/product/the-taste-of-blood-on-christmas-morning-by-j-j-campbell
World Cup Update:
Croatia shocked England with a goal in the second segment of extra time to win 2-1 yesterday. that sets up a World Cup final of France vs. Croatia on Sunday. i picked Croatia as the dark horse in this event 3 weeks ago in this blog. i figure i'll probably stick with that now that they are in the final. the third place game will be Belgium vs. England on Saturday.
the New York Yankees got some good pitching from Sonny Gray (finally) last night and hit 3 home runs to split the series with Baltimore, 9-0. the Yankees start a series tonight in Cleveland.
NXT was great last night. the main event was holy shit good.
Lucha Underground was excellent last night.
Big Brother was good last night. i love the plan to backdoor Swaggy. i won't be upset if he gets evicted tonight at all.
enjoy some music:

the weather was pretty nice today, not much humidity at all. that made the drive to get the x-rays and paperwork mom needs for her bullshit appointment tomorrow somewhat pleasant.
i will be on here in the morning tomorrow as mom's appointment is in the afternoon. i have to do the grocery shopping after that.
i finally got to talk my lover in Italy today. just a day after our first month together, we had a nice argument. ah, love. i think she understands my financial situation a bit better now. if she stays with me knowing that, i will be even more impressed.

got up this morning and felt like hell. it was raining on and off all night. my right ankle felt like it was broken in about 50 places. but, the past few weeks have really sharpened my pain tolerance. i'm not exactly sure how i'm walking, but i am. after mom and i went to McDonald's for breakfast (probably not the best choice) we went to the farm. i spent almost 18 years out there, trying to build a habitat good for animals, plants, insects, humans, etc. while driving up the lane, the fuckers that bought the farm in the auction (but technically don't own it yet) have taken it upon themselves to make the farm look the way they want it to. all the fencing is gone. all the cats are gone. the trees that were my cousin's father's trees from California are gone. there's these huge piles of wood and trash all over the place. i told mom it's a damn good thing i took the gasoline a few weeks ago or there would already be a few bonfires going on the farm. i put air in the tires of my truck. i'm hoping it goes for something north of $50 in the upcoming auction. we had to break down a few shelving units that we want to use in the garage of the new house. after a few hours, it was more or less time to go. if i don't have to be at the upcoming auction (mom will be out of town), today is probably the last day i will be at the farm. it was sad to see all those damn trees knocked down. the pastures were mowed, which is the first time they were touched in a decade. i kept them high so animals could hunt in them or hide in them while being hunted. i have no clue what the new owners are going to do with the place. i'm pretty sure i won't like it regardless. most of this afternoon i've been thinking of what happened to the cats. my gut tells me they are dead. and not like they were out and about and got caught my another animal dead. like they were caught and killed and dumped somewhere. if i had any guilt in my body, this would be where it would be killing me. but i don't. part of the asshole gene i suppose. just a few more weeks and all of this will be over.
i did watch most of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductions last night. it was cool to see Joan Jett play. hard to believe Green Day has been around that long. plus, i loved the induction of Stevie Ray Vaughn. between him and Lou Reed, the tears of nostalgia were flowing last night.
the Stanley Cup Final is set. Chicago vs. Tampa Bay. sadly, my dream final has always been Chicago vs. New York Rangers. what could have been.
ROH last night was so damn good i watched it again this afternoon. the buildup between Jay Lethal and Jay Briscoe has been excellent. i can't wait to see that match.
the weather has cooled down a bit today. of course, it took a day or two of rain to have that happen.
time for a music break:
the New York Yankees got some great relief pitching last night and a few clutch hits to win 5-3. they go for the split this afternoon.
after the game, i'll probably go right to watching the WWE Network. i am really looking forward to the Elimination Chamber matches tonight. hopefully, Kevin Owens will destroy John Cena. plus, the two chamber matches for the titles tonight should be amazing. hopefully i'll have plenty of videos to share tomorrow.
so on the DVR tonight will be Nurse Jackie, Happyish, Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight. i figure i'll watch a few after the wrestling and then catch up with the rest either Monday morning or afternoon.
while going through some shit last night, mom came across a thank you note sent to both of us back in 1981. it came from one of the hostages that was in the Iran hostage crisis back in 1979/1980. as you might imagine, i wasn't the normal 4 or 5 year old. being able to read at 2, i was fully aware of current events by the age of 4. hell, by 8 i was reading at a college level. not sure where i'm going to keep this letter, but it will find a place somewhere in this house.
that's all for me today. i hope everyone is having a great weekend. hopefully the sun is out where you are.

yesterday, the Yankees committed one of the sins of all sports. when coming from behind, once you take the lead, you can't give that lead right back and expect to win. the Yankees did exactly that as they lost 8-3. thankfully, MLB blackout rules will keep me from seeing today's game. another loss would not shock me at all. i get the feeling this team is going to frustrate the living shit out of me this season.
last night, the Rangers played about the best road game they have played all season. they lost 2-1 in a shootout unfortunately. they did get a huge point. they play a struggling Carolina team tonight, and 2 points is a MUST. i figure i will flip to that during commercial breaks of the Final 4.
the weather warmed up a bit today but, and given that i've lived all my 37 years in the state of Ohio, there's always a but when it comes to the weather, the wind is colder than shit. what is supposed to be in the 60's feels like the 40's. fuck me.
bird feeder update: i guess the deer repellent and raccoon repellent worked as the bird feeder was still hanging this morning. now, we'll see how long it lasts.
spent the rest of this morning watching and listening to Wrestlemania interviews, checking out ROH ppv results (i'm a bit shocked to say the least), and listening to Bert Kreischer's podcast. i highly recommend the latest podcast, especially if you need a good laugh today. you can find it at http://bertcast.com/
new SNL tonight and a little ROH tv before i go to bed and get ready for my Sunday as a child. Wrestlemania is the only wrestling ppv i get each year and i have seen all 28 so far. from the first one going to Hara Arena with my father to watch on closed circuit television to last year watching on a big screen out here on the farm. i'm hoping Wrestlemania 29 will shock a few people this year. i'm kind of amazed at the number of people who are already shitting on it before it happens. of course, i shouldn't be that shocked seeing that wrestling fans think they know exactly what is best for the show. and considering i'm one of those fans, perhaps my positive thoughts are simply wishing for the best.
any posts from me tomorrow will be early. and if you email, don't worry, i'll get to it eventually. but for most of tomorrow i'll be in front of a television.
