much later than i was expecting...

i just got the news that Frankie Beverly died. that hit me way harder than i was expecting. definitely feeling my age these days.

and of course, with today being 9/11, i can't help but remember what happened 23 fucking years ago.

grocery shopping went well today, other than my left arm killing me all day long. at least i kept everything under $200.

the Yankees lost last night at home against the Royals, 5-0. of course, Baltimore won last night, so the lead in the division is down to 1/2 game.

NXT was amazing last night.

Deadliest Catch was very good last night.

the debate went how i expected last night. the prosecutor laid out the bait and the dumb fuck couldn't help himself.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and Big Brother.

the USMNT played a 1-1 draw against New Zealand last night. that is 4 games in a row on home soil without a win. they haven't been that bad in 14 years. but, at least they finally hired the right coach this time.

i need to go make dinner, so that's all for me today.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

until then...

how could we ever forget

hard to believe 20 years has gone by already. are we a better country now? in some ways, yes. did we give up too much of our personal freedom? yes. did we ever put a fucking dent in the war on terrorism? no. what pisses me off the most about this anniversary is the chance we had as a nation to truly come together and how it was pissed away by the pure fucking greed of the fucks in this country that get off on murder and war. i truly feel for everyone that lost a loved one on 9/11. no one deserves that pain. but seeing all these bullshit documentaries coming on and fudging the truth to the point where even a fucking imbecile can realize they are watching propaganda, who the fuck needs that bullshit, either? if you are going to be patriotic today, go right ahead. just don't be fucking blind.

the Yankees had their asses handed to them last night by the Mets, 10-3. i doubt it will be much different tonight.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

AEW Rampage was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

so, i never thought i would see the day of Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Manchester United again. this game today against Newcastle is going to feel surreal. but, hopefully he starts, scores a couple goals and United wins and the dream of actually watching him lift a trophy again in those colors could be one step closer to a reality.

right after that, Ohio State takes on Oregon in the home opener up in Columbus. hopefully, Ohio State will win again.

i'm sure i will watch plenty of college football today and hopefully get a few naps in as well.

my sister did have dinner with us last night. she's not that cool with being out in public during a pandemic and can't really understand why her friends are. i'm not sure she thought she was going to watch all that wrestling last night, but i'm sure it didn't kill her. she did like her birthday gifts.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning, long before the New Orleans Saints play in the afternoon.

until then kids...

could we do more than never forget?

it's rhetorical i know, but it seems this country is so fucking used to forgetting our history, 9/11, at least to me, is fading into that section of what we always do kind of shit. i can think of a few thousand people that would be greatly disappointed by this. of course, who really gives a fuck anymore?

the Yankees got rained out last night, so they are playing a doubleheader today against the Orioles. they are well on their way to winning the first game. the Yankees are up 6-0 in the bottom of the sixth. oh alcohol, my old friend...

Holey Moley was crazy last night.

NXT UK was really good last night. i can't wait for the new shows to start.

Big Brother went as i expected last night. Bayleigh was evicted and Dani is the new HOH.

here are your highlights from the NBA last night:

here are your highlights from the NHL last night:

i did watch some of the NFL game last night. the Chiefs do look scary on offense once again. they beat the Texans, 34-20.

i sent out 29 poems this afternoon, 3 each to Red Eft Review, Terror House Magazine and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, The Ramingo's Porch, Misfit Magazine and Synchronized Chaos. i will pass along the verdicts when i hear back from these places.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Room 104 and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i had to take mom to her bank today to deposit a check. after that, we went to the drugstore to get some things. i picked up a box of football cards. got my first hit ever from one of those Fairfield boxes. it was a numbered card from around 2005 or so. worth just about as much as the box cost.

i was up until 5 this morning working on my baseball cards. i'm trying to get the albums better organized, so i know where shit is. plus, i am finding a good amount of cards i have missed over the last few months.

it has felt like it's going to rain all damn day. joy.

my sister should be down here tomorrow afternoon. i think she is spending the night.

i am going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. since Manchester United aren't playing, i'm going to try to be on here before the Premier League really gets going.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. Gerrit Cole just threw a 2 hit shutout for the Yankees, saving the bullpen for game 2 of the doubleheader. should be happy night now.

until tomorrow kids...

#never forget

as much as i know i will never forget 9/11, i also look back on it as such a wasted opportunity to unite this country. and as we sit here in 2018, the most divided we have been in 50 fucking years, i wonder if this divide would have happened if the right steps would have been made to unite this country on 9/12/2001. of course, the Republicans were in power then, as they are now. it's all about greed and war while they are in power. they are only conservatives when the left has the power. it's the joy of being a fucking hypocrite i suppose. but, they are rich, so they don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks.

i saw Rolling Stone posted a story today from David Foster Wallace about 9/11 as seen from the Midwest. that made me immediately think about the poem i wrote about a week after 9/11.
that poem is in my book Sofisticated White Trash. feel free to buy it on Amazon.com. it was true back then and it is still true today.
https://www.amazon.com/Sofisticated-White-Trash-J-J-Campbell/dp/0981660681

it was actually nice enough that i was able to get outside today and take down the bird feeders by the windows and clean up the fucking weeds and vines a bit. the new windows will start going in on Thursday.

the New York Yankees erupted last night in the 7th inning and defeated the Twins, 7-2. hopefully, they can win again tonight.

i was in and out of Monday Night Raw last night. i really don't think i missed much. it's obvious they were trying to set up Hell in a Cell this weekend without doing too much.

i know the muse and my mother were very happy last night when the New York Jets won. i watched some of that and some of the Rams victory over the Raiders.

the finale of Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story was very powerful last night. i love how it showed how all these racists came out of hiding when Trump started running for President. it's not a coincidence. they are proud to have a racist running this country, just like how they thought it was always meant to be. to them, it's sort of like the south finally won the war. the irony being, it was a stupid as fuck asshole from New York that did it for them. i also liked how they clearly showed the confederate flag is racist as it was declared by the asshole that created it. i know, fucking logic. it doesn't work with the ignorant.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Fuck That's Delicious and Mayans M.C. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the USMNT takes on Mexico tonight in a friendly. i would to see the USA win, but i don't have my hopes up.

i have to take mom to a doctor's appointment tomorrow. this is with the doctor that fucked up her disability claim, so it should be very interesting.

i will probably be on here after we get home from the doctor's appointment and a late lunch.

i have trash to go pick up and i really need to shave and shower after working outside today.

that's all for me kids.

checking the ego for once

first off, may we never forget...

i did a little poetry work today. i know where my next 27 poems are going to go. plus, i thinned out my unpublished file and moved some (nearly half) poems to the archives. this should allow me to better know the poems i'm selecting from. plus, if i ever do get a little fame, there's that unpublished collection waiting in the wings. but, when i noticed how thick the file was, that's certainly a good way to punch the ego right in the face.

the New York Yankees scored early and often yesterday to defeat Texas 16-7. Aaron Judge crushed 2 home runs as did Gary Sanchez. and they won on a day Boston lost. the Yankees start a series tonight against Tampa in the Mets stadium in Queens. hopefully the Yankees can win again tonight.

Big Brother was good last night. i'm still hoping they somehow fuck over Paul in the end. Alex will be the next to go.

Ballers was pretty good last night.

the season finale of Insecure was excellent.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual last night.

The Strain was fucking great last night. the series finale next week should be great.

Ray Donovan was pretty good last night.

Episodes was pretty funny last night.

The Deuce was absolutely great last night. i can tell i'm really going to enjoy this show.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and I Hart Food. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for at least some of the night.

i'll be watching the New Orleans Saints play at Minnesota for most of the evening. i'm hoping the Saints can get a victory to start the season.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. below are the links.
Sara Watkins - Live on The Current
Justin Townes Earle - Kids In The Street
Nikki Lane - Highway Queen

i hope everyone had a great weekend. and i'm hoping there will be at least a few days before the next disaster.

apparently i was an evil warlord in another life

before i get into the latest demise of my life...

no sooner than i typed the words yesterday that i had my fingers crossed for the latest woman i've met on Google+, the world might as well have opened up and swallowed me whole. she gives me basically the same sob story they all have given me, how they had to use their last dollar for such and such and could really use help, etc. then came the famous line of what bank do you use? i'm 39 fucking years old and for some fucking reason, these fools think i'm going to fall for this shit. maybe it was the cyber sex earlier in the day that made them think i'm a fucking dumb fuck that will gladly give out my account number so some money can be put into it. besides, anyone who says they love me after 3 days of talking is running some fucking scam. even my ego doesn't believe in myself that much. these are the days where the notebooks will be filled with sorrow and bewilderment. i often wonder if i'm going to ever meet "the one" before i die. the pain gets a little deeper each day. bet the under kids.

with that in mind, here's my Flashback Friday contribution:

the New York Yankees got rained out last night. they will play a doubleheader on Saturday. i don't know how they pull that off with the relievers running out of gas here lately. that more or less makes tonight a MUST win game against the Blue Jays.

Big Brother kind of shocked me last night as Julia was sent to the jury house. it simply shows once again that Vanessa is controlling the whole house. of course, she won the HOH. i figure she'll nominate one from each side and then whoever wins the POV she'll align herself with, at least until the other side gets power again. hopefully one of these fucks figure out before the finale that they can't win if they take Vanessa to the final 2. if not, just cut her the check now and get the show over with.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was excellent last night. Married made me laugh hard, mostly because i can picture myself as the "creepy" dater. sad.

ok kids, let's lose ourselves in the music:

and now some of this and that:

tonight on the DVR will be NJPW and Treehouse Masters.

this afternoon i'll be driving mom to the grocery store. after we get done with that, i need to get my laundry done. and on top of all that, it's supposed to rain cats and dogs this afternoon. i'm already starting to feel achy and i've spent too much of the day on the toilet. even my body is rebelling against me.

i will probably be on here tomorrow morning as my Saturday looks like it's going to be jam packed. between the Yankees doubleheader, Ohio State playing Hawaii and Manchester United taking on those assholes from Liverpool, i'm going to be busy, hopefully drinking victory beers.

i hope everyone has a great Friday. take a moment to remember what today is. and then do something strange and think about someone other than yourself today.

the big cool down

well, we had the line of fuck you storms come through last night. we didn't get much of the action, as that was mostly to the north of us. what we did get was a big cool down. it's been in the 60's all day long. was actually able to open up the house and let it air out.

just when i thought the water problems were over with... one of the toilets started acting up today. good times.

the Yankees started horribly last night. down 4 runs and had their starting pitcher knocked out in the first inning. but, it was one of the rare nights they actually showed some backbone and gave a shit. they went on to win 8-5. my first victory beer since god knows when. they play again tonight.

Big Brother was pretty good last night. thankfully, there is a new HOH. i might get my wish of Frankie getting evicted after all.

The Bridge was great once again last night. i love all the different layers of the show. and just how much of it is intertwined with everything else. what a fantastic web.

other than the NFL game tonight, i'll be watching Married and You're the Worst on FX.

i do have a couple fantasy players going tonight. i've picked Baltimore to win, mostly just by going with my gut.

i wrote 3 poems last night as there was no way i could fall asleep with how my body was aching in the rain. i typed them up this afternoon and think i may have a few winners in the batch.

i heard from the dream woman today. told her i missed her and she seemed shocked. said i didn't act like i wanted to get to know her better. so, i suppose the poems, the messages on Google+, and the voice messages were just me twiddling my fucking thumbs. i suppose what i learned as a teen is correct; i'll never fucking understand women.

after i get this done i'm going to take a long shower.

mom went to the audiologist today. i guess she's lost more hearing in her ear. they are going to try a different kind of hearing aid with her. i feel bad for her. she's under so much fucking stress that her body is breaking down now. hopefully, one of the doctors just force her to retire. that could be the best thing to happen to her. and considering she's vastly underpaid with what she does anyway, she's not going to notice much of a difference in money.

so, on that high note, that's all for me today. thank you for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
