3 down, 13 to go...

the New York Rangers won last night at home, 5-2, to force a Game 7 tomorrow night at New Jersey. i'm hoping what they found last night carries over to Monday night.

here are your two videos for the last day of National Poetry Month:

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night:

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

the New York Yankees lost last night at Texas, 2-0. hopefully, they will avoid the sweep today.

i did watch some of the MLS last night.

i finally got to see Moonage Daydream last night. we started watching it and the rain knocked out the satellite after 30 minutes. thankfully, i remembered that it was on demand, so we watched it from there. it was absolutely amazing. if you haven't seen it already, i urge you to do so.

the NFL Draft concluded yesterday. i am pretty happy with what the New Orleans Saints did.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Succession, Barry, Somebody Somewhere, Last Week Tonight, Power Book II: Ghost and Waco: The Aftermath.

the New York Knicks are playing Game 1 of their series against Miami today at home. they are winning 55-50 at halftime.

i do plan on watching some of Game 7 between Golden State and Sacramento this afternoon.

there are two Game 7's in the NHL playoffs today. Florida at Boston and Seattle at Colorado. if i get really lucky and the 4 guys i picked to score today do so, i will win over $100.

i need to go to Rite Aid and pick up some pills.

hard to believe we are at the end of April already.

Manchester United defeated Aston Villa today, 1-0. i woke up just in time to see Bruno score for United.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

too good to be true...

so, i woke up this morning after a hard 5 hours of sleep. i felt pretty refreshed. i made the coffee, had breakfast... was having a pretty damn good start to the day. and then let's say, unexpectedly, today became laundry day. i'm not sure if it was something i ate, or maybe the coffee triggered my gut, or maybe my inner child was literally hoping for shits and giggles. so yeah, the fun just kept getting better from there. i tweaked my back a bit while i was out feeding the birds. i figured i needed to do that before the fucking snow comes tomorrow (1-3 inches most likely). and bending down to get the clothes out of the dryer didn't help my back either. joy.

so, i guess the rich fucks in baseball finally have a deal to play this season.

AEW Dynamite was awesome last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy last night.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Young Sheldon, United States of Al, the season finale of B Positive, Dicktown, Desus & Mero and NJPW. i did watch NXT UK this afternoon on Peacock. it was really good.

the New York Rangers play tonight at St. Louis. hopefully, the boys can get a victory tonight.

i guess they called in some pain pills for my mother. so, i'll be making a late trip to Kroger sometime tonight. hopefully they have them done before the pharmacy closes.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow evening, so i guess it will be before they play.

i really need to go ice my back down, so that's all for me kids.

#never forget

as much as i know i will never forget 9/11, i also look back on it as such a wasted opportunity to unite this country. and as we sit here in 2018, the most divided we have been in 50 fucking years, i wonder if this divide would have happened if the right steps would have been made to unite this country on 9/12/2001. of course, the Republicans were in power then, as they are now. it's all about greed and war while they are in power. they are only conservatives when the left has the power. it's the joy of being a fucking hypocrite i suppose. but, they are rich, so they don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks.

i saw Rolling Stone posted a story today from David Foster Wallace about 9/11 as seen from the Midwest. that made me immediately think about the poem i wrote about a week after 9/11.
that poem is in my book Sofisticated White Trash. feel free to buy it on Amazon.com. it was true back then and it is still true today.
https://www.amazon.com/Sofisticated-White-Trash-J-J-Campbell/dp/0981660681

it was actually nice enough that i was able to get outside today and take down the bird feeders by the windows and clean up the fucking weeds and vines a bit. the new windows will start going in on Thursday.

the New York Yankees erupted last night in the 7th inning and defeated the Twins, 7-2. hopefully, they can win again tonight.

i was in and out of Monday Night Raw last night. i really don't think i missed much. it's obvious they were trying to set up Hell in a Cell this weekend without doing too much.

i know the muse and my mother were very happy last night when the New York Jets won. i watched some of that and some of the Rams victory over the Raiders.

the finale of Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story was very powerful last night. i love how it showed how all these racists came out of hiding when Trump started running for President. it's not a coincidence. they are proud to have a racist running this country, just like how they thought it was always meant to be. to them, it's sort of like the south finally won the war. the irony being, it was a stupid as fuck asshole from New York that did it for them. i also liked how they clearly showed the confederate flag is racist as it was declared by the asshole that created it. i know, fucking logic. it doesn't work with the ignorant.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Fuck That's Delicious and Mayans M.C. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the USMNT takes on Mexico tonight in a friendly. i would to see the USA win, but i don't have my hopes up.

i have to take mom to a doctor's appointment tomorrow. this is with the doctor that fucked up her disability claim, so it should be very interesting.

i will probably be on here after we get home from the doctor's appointment and a late lunch.

i have trash to go pick up and i really need to shave and shower after working outside today.

that's all for me kids.

how much worse can this day get

so, a few minutes before 6 AM this morning, i had the most violent cramp in my left leg in my 42 years on this planet. it honestly felt like the lower half of my left leg was leaving my body. my big toe on my left foot was sticking straight up in the air. i'm not sure why i got the cramps. i didn't drink last night. i have this big cup i drink water out of. it's 24 ounces for a full cup. i usually will drink 4 to 7 of those a day. my guess is the cramp was actually caused by diabetic nerve pain. it's been so fucking rainy the last day or so that my left leg feels like it has radiation running through it. it reminds me of when my sciatic nerve was pinched. worst fucking pain in my life. this morning was as close as i have been to that in the last 10 years.

so, since i was up, i fucking watched most of the Royal Wedding this morning. it was fine. i was simply hoping to pass the damn time until the USA played Sweden in the semi-finals of the Hockey World Championships this morning.

Sweden whipped the USA 6-0. that means the USA will be playing for a bronze medal tomorrow morning. and if the current results hold, they will be playing Canada in that game. joy. (Canada got upset by Switzerland today 3-2)

so, probably after my 5th glass of water this morning, i got ready to watch Manchester United play in the FA Cup Final. needless to say, when shit rolls downhill, eventually you come to realize it's never going to fucking stop. United pissed away chance after chance and of course were fucking horrible in the first half. Chelsea scored on a penalty kick that was deserved (fuck you Phil Jones). United played with more desperation in the second half, but that never amounted to shit.
what a fucking waste this day has turned into.

the New York Yankees lost to a shitty Royals team last night, 5-2. hopefully they will get a win tonight.

here are your highlights from the NHL playoffs last night.

VICE was very good last night.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

the main event of Major League Wrestling was great last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was very funny last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Saturday Night Live, Fahrenheit 451, ROH and Patrick Melrose.

i will probably watch some of the NHL and NBA playoffs tonight as well.

i also plan on watching the Preakness Stakes later today.

i'm currently going on just 3 1/2 hours of sleep. so i'm going to crash here soon.

i hope everyone has a better Saturday than me.

it's not the heat, it's the humidity

it's been so damn muggy around here for the last week or so, anytime i walk out of the house i feel like i am in Florida again. and i haven't been in Florida since i was a child.

i told my mother yesterday that when we move, we're not having any pets come with us. this is their punishment for strategically placing shit all around the yard where i walk to feed the birds. and trust me, fresh cat shit and heat just don't mix well, even if it's on the bottom of an old pair of shoes.

if the World Cup is going to be anything like the first game yesterday, holy shit. Brazil survived Chile on penalty kicks. Brazil 1(3) - Chile 1(2). i thought for a few moments that my pick to win it all would blow up in my face. hell, it still might. in the other game Colombia beat Uruguay 2-0. let the James Rodriguez bidding begin. he's going to get a massive raise before too long.

today, the Netherlands take on Mexico. i'll have my eyes glued on that one given the various Manchester United connections in it. afterwards, Costa Rica plays Greece. some lucky team will be getting to the quarterfinals unexpectedly.

i have Costa Rica and Netherlands advancing today.

the Yankees lost last night 2-1. Tanaka made two mistakes and it got him a loss. sucks when that second mistake comes in the top of the 9th with 2 outs. why he would shake off the catcher to throw his third best pitch is beyond me. i also put some blame on the catcher for allowing him to do it. but, the biggest blame comes down to the offense again that looked like they were swinging a wet paper bag at the plate. the rubber game of the series is tonight on ESPN. i have no clue if i will bother with it or not.

ROH was a retrospective on Michael Elgin and his path to the title last night. a pretty good episode. i'm not that big of a fan but he has certainly paid his dues and deserves a chance to run with the ball.

i'm ok with whom the New York Rangers drafted yesterday. they traded back a few times and got more players, which is usually a good thing. most of the guys will end up being depth guys if they do make it to the NHL. now the real nail biting begins with free agency. the GM is already laying the ground work for players walking away. great.

i'm really looking forward to the Sunday night shows tonight. the season finales of Nurse Jackie and Penny Dreadful. the series finale of Californication. and another new episode of Last Week Tonight. if i find the time, i may check out the new HBO show The Leftovers. of course, i've been so damn tired here lately, i probably would be better off sleeping. not sure if i'm going to watch the next episode of Big Brother tonight or not, as i already know what's going to happen.

i got a late start this morning as i had an awful night of sleeping. even with the fan and air conditioning on, i could never get comfortable. good times.

i need to get the trash picked up and the cats fed before the games start today. and i also need to fit in breakfast and reading the paper. and of course, since it is trash day, it's supposed to storm. why am i not surprised.

that's all for me today. hope everyone is having a great weekend. or at the very least, better than mine.

with a little thunder outside

we actually have got some rain today. no violent winds (yet) and no torrential downpours (yet)... so, all in all, not as much rain as i would have liked but we definitely needed what we got.

my back has been in misery for most of today. i did take a good, long hot shower that seemed to do the trick a little. that all came before a phone call from the muse. after listening to a story of a drunken make out with an older man, she decided it was a good time to show me (without knowing it) what a one sided friendship actually looks like. one of the better hang ups i have had in quite some time. not sure what is next, and i'm not sure i really care at the moment. i've had so many "friends" let me down in the last few years that i really don't see the point anymore.

i did watch a good portion of the Brazil vs. Uruguay match today in the Confederations Cup. Brazil won 2-1. that was a must win by them. i really hope Spain wins tomorrow as that should set up one great finale.

the Yankees last night had their first walk off of the season, 4-3. Ichiro hit the 4th solo home run by the team. of course, that great win was overshadowed by A-Rod and Cashman getting into it over rehab and whatnot. and then of course the news comes down today that Tex needs season ending wrist surgery. smoke and mirrors are just about the only way this team will make the playoffs this year.

i guess i know one tight end i will be avoiding in the upcoming NFL fantasy drafts. talk about pissing away some talent.

check out episode 60 of the Sam Roberts Show Online. you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, and by going to notsam.com. well worth a listen and do help him out if you can.

Deadliest Catch last night was great, as usual. i really enjoyed the pregame show as well. i really wished Freddie would have whipped that greenhorn's ass last night.

tonight, weather permitting, will be a little of the Yankees, a little Big Brother, perhaps some local news and then Big Brother After Dark. which, for some fucking reason is on the TV Guide network, which i believe i have never watched in my life. i'll have to see if i even have it on DIRECTV. if i do, there will be my new destination at midnight until this cast just bores me to death. i'm hoping that doesn't happen.

quick critter update: the groundhog has returned and somehow, another suet feeder has gone missing. if i had the money i would get some night vision cameras and actually figure out what the fuck is happening. on the bright side, the less feeders we have, the more money we can save by not buying as much food for the animals.

congrats to all my gay friends. now, go out and get married and become miserable like most of my married friends.

a cold Friday

nothing like a cold front moving through, dropping the damn temps by 40 degrees, to leave my back as stiff as a corpse. just fucking fun. we didn't get nearly as much rain as i thought we would, and what we did get, the wind dried it out pretty damn quickly.

the Yankees were rained out again last night, so i pretty much jumped from channel to channel. a little college hockey, some TNA wrestling, some true crime stuff, the cooking channel, various music channels, etc. more or less it's really just the challenge to see if i can go the whole evening and not watch one commercial all the way through. a much easier game to play when you have a satellite i suppose.

i have no clue if the Yankees will play tonight or not. if they do, i'll be watching. if they are rained out for the third day in a row... i'll be jumping from channel to channel again i guess.

mom took me to a late lunch today at Little York Tavern. i haven't been to this place in years. we went there in all actuality to try the Dan Patrick Show beer, Audible Ale. i've been meaning to try this for quite some time, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. a very smooth, tasty, easy to drink beer. i highly recommend it. hopefully a store around here will start selling it soon.

Good Friday? i guess...

so, the New York Rangers laid the egg i feared last night, and now are tied for the final playoff spot with the Islanders. if we miss the playoffs and those ass clowns make it, i'll be quickly transported back to my youth in the early 80's. please, god no.

also, only got 2 of the 4 college basketball games right last night and one of the losses was, of course, a team i had playing in the title game. i have to have Louisville win it all just to be over .500 on my main bracket. this is the absolute worst i have ever done on this, and that goes back to 1986.

so, needless to say, i was a bit pissy this morning and didn't take the camera into town. but, i did take some photos on the farm a bit ago. below are my favorite 3 of the 17 i took.

you can see the other 14 shots i took by going to my Google+ page. and if you go there and aren't following me already, what are you waiting for? and i would suggest following this blog as well. thank you.

Manchester United plays tomorrow morning. hopefully they win so i can get out of this funk of losing. it's bad enough that i'm expecting a shit year for the Yankees. United might be the only hopes i have for a title.

the Rangers play Saturday night in Montreal. i'll do my best to avoid that disaster as they never play well up there. NEVER!  i think it's been over 3 games since they have scored up there. not good.

hope everyone has a great weekend. for the religious ones, enjoy your Easter. for the C & E Christians (Christmas and Easter are the only time my ass shows up in church Christians), enjoy playing dress-up. and for the rest of us, enjoy the candy. be safe and be well.

basketball, fire, oncoming snow

i spent 12 hours yesterday watching basketball at UD Arena. 4 basketball games, with only 1 being competitive. and sadly, that was the first game.

Temple Vs. NC State - NC State started out brain dead and got down big early. so, as i've seen a few million times, they didn't have quite enough to dig themselves out of the hole. i give them credit for making it interesting, but, still a loss by 4 points.

Indiana vs. James Madison - this game was over about 3 minutes in. when one player is outscoring the entire team for nearly the first 10 minutes of the game, saying a game is lopsided is an understatement.

then, thanks to the NCAA having their heads shoved up their asses, the next game started less than 60 minutes after the previous one finished. so, everyone has to leave the building and go wait in line with session 2 tickets. thankfully, mom and i parked in handicap parking, so we just waited in the car, had a few snacks, and stayed out of the cold. more on the cold later.

Ohio State vs. Iona - why the dumb fucks from Iona would provide OSU with bulletin board material before the game is beyond me. foolish youth. Ohio State flirted with 100 points in this game and by the end had 3 players on the court that people from Columbus were saying never play. that pretty much sums up that game.

Iowa State vs. Notre Dame - was a little surprised with the lack of Notre Dame fans there, as was the fuck behind me who couldn't shut up 2 minutes to save his life. Iowa State destroyed Notre Dame fairly easily. easily enough that there was probably less than 3 thousand people left at the end. both sessions drew over 12,000.

so, on Sunday i will see Indiana vs. Temple and Ohio State vs. Iowa State.

thankfully, these games will start at noon. i say thankfully as they are calling for 6-10 inches of snow on Sunday. and here i thought it was spring. it appears (as of right now) that most of that snow should come after the games are over and my mother and i are back home. sadly, mother nature has a tendency to not go as planned. my fingers are crossed. and my back is already being iced. good thing i didn't put up the snow shovel just yet.

don't ask about my brackets. when you lose a final four team (Georgetown) before the first weekend is over, you can absolutely forget about winning anything. now, i have to hope i have some magic in the round by round games.

and now for the fire.

the guy who farms out here is finally burning off the brush he cleared to help with our drainage problems. if i wasn't so damn tired i might have actually walked down there to get closer shots. be thankful i walked up the stairs to get the camera at all.

and here's one of my cat Kit Kat just for shits and giggles

i will try to get pictures if we really do get all that snow. and i will try to get some pictures of the cats so names can be put with images. i imagine that will be mostly for my mother as she can't keep any of their names straight.
