absolutely gutted

i had just published the blog yesterday when i started checking the news on the right hand side of this blog. when i saw the headline that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper had died, i was shocked, ripped to shreds, absolutely gutted. if Dusty Rhodes' death was like getting hit by a ton of bricks, Piper's is like god driving an 18 wheeler over me and those bricks. i spent most of last night and a good portion of today just watching old videos, old promos, just trying to make some sense of it all. 61 years old and gone. thankfully, legends never truly die. and the Hot Rod was a true, complete legend.
i grew up on that Flair vs. Piper feud. a few years later, it was the classic feud with Hulk Hogan. the man was simply the best heel there ever was. and easily, one of the greatest talkers ever in pro wrestling.
and one of my favorite movie lines of all-time:
you will be missed. it was a pleasure to see you live almost 30 years ago. thank you for making my life a little more tolerable over the years.

as you might imagine, i've been in a moody, depressed... the fucking summer blues. so why not some music:

the New York Yankees broke out the bats last night and won 13-6. Tex had another great game. hopefully they can get another winning streak going. they play again tonight.

NJPW was really good last night. Treehouse Masters was excellent. it showed some treehouses in Brazil. they were pretty fucking amazing.

thankfully, there was some funny shit on last night. god knows, i needed the laughs:

on the DVR tonight will be Power and ROH.

my sister has made it to the house. she brought some shit she got mom at IKEA. so, it looks like the rest of today will be putting furniture together. good times.

the Fracture Me photos i ordered did arrive today. thank god they packed them good as i watched the fucking mailman drop them out of the truck. if they were broken, i might have punched a fucker in the face today. they look really good. i think we're going to put them around this painting of the farm we have, that is whenever we get around to that. most of my design work is done. mom is one of the greatest procrastinators i have ever seen.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone has a great Saturday. everything in moderation, including moderation.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

off to go freeze to death

i decided to write this early today as i have a ton of shit to do today. first off, i really need to clean off the sidewalks, etc as we have to go grocery shopping today as there is a big fucking ice storm coming. second, i have to get on dead cat patrol here soon as i go out to feed them. it got down to about -20 with the windchill last night. the smell of death is at the point in the house where i'd actually rather be outside at the moment. also, i think mom wants to go shopping for shit we'll need at the new house as she is hell bent on getting there as soon as possible. needless to say, i'm preparing to be in pain by the time i get back home in the afternoon.

i really just bounced around the channels last night; a little college hockey, a little pro wrestling, a little basketball, and then i watched Treehouse Masters. i so wish i had some fuck you money where i could build a fucking treehouse like the one last night. a window wall that turns into an awning. copper roof. floating bed. 150 foot bridge to it. i guess i should start lining the poetry books with cocaine. that might do it.

after the running around today, i'm planning on enjoying some time in my chair. there are 2 NFL playoff games that i plan on watching today. also, the Dayton Flyers play at Fordham tonight. they are favored to win that game as well. if they do, i believe that would be 6 straight wins. also tonight, the New York Rangers play at San Jose. i would love for them to finish off the California portion of their road trip with a sweep of the teams. that would be awesome. hopefully i will be enjoying a couple of victory beers when i'm watching a new episode of ROH late tonight.

i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow as Manchester United plays late in the morning. so it might be one of those as soon as i wake up blogs. good times. but i do know i have a busy ass Sunday ahead as well, between sports, shows, Golden Globes, trash day, approaching storm, etc. etc. i suppose the assholes are correct; there is no rest for the wicked.

that's all for me today. i hope everyone has a great start to their weekend. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the doldrums, part 2

just as i thought he would, Janne Karlsson sent me some artwork about the first part of the doldrums. this guy is so fucking talented, i have no idea why he is working with some fucker like me. here's what he came up with:
check out more of Janne's work at http://www.svenskapache.se/ and at Boom Motherfuckers!

that drawing sums up my life from the age of 32 on. today was simply another day for the pile. i got woke up by the phone this morning. it was my mother calling after her doctor's appointment. turns out her shunt isn't working properly. so, next Tuesday i get to drive her back to the doctor's office so she can get an injection that is supposed to start the process of killing off the nerve endings and hopefully will help the shunt to work properly. just the kind of news i wanted to start off the day with. then, this afternoon i took a massive shit. let's just say i fear this type of shit when my back is acting up. you'll understand why when i start talking about cleaning shit off of the carpet later in the day. good times. keep in mind, i hadn't fed the cats or birds yet. i would laugh if i was still capable of that. yet another day where the 8 year old me was right. i'm still looking for the right tree for this noose.

i finally saw a couple of performances on The Voice last night that caught my ear...
hopefully the shows next week have even more...

tonight i'll be watching the first episode of Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network. after that, the night will be all about American Horror Story. i've heard good things about how creepy this episode is going to be. hopefully it is. if it somehow isn't, i might flip over to Game 7 of the World Series. maybe. but probably not.

i'm not sure what the New York Rangers are going to do now that John Moore has been suspended 5 games for his hit in the Minnesota game. personally, i'd call up one of the kids and give them a chance ahead of the 7th defenseman they have right now. time will tell.

i found a wonderful album on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the link to it down below. if you like a little reggae mixed with alternative music, you WILL love this.

i've added the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast to the right hand side of this blog. if you like pro wrestling, i highly recommend it.

hopefully i'll have a better or at the very least, a less shitty day to report about tomorrow. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

a stuffed nose only means one thing...

welcome to fall in Ohio. it was damn near 75 yesterday and this morning i wake up (way too early) and it is 38 degrees. that's the kind of temperature drop that makes me curious to see if my flu shot will actually work. we didn't have any frost thankfully. if it gets too cold the crops could be fucked. but, it certainly feels like football and hockey weather now.

Ohio State plays a trap game today at Maryland. hopefully they come out and take care of them early. if this gets into a back and forth game, the young Buckeyes could be in a for a cruel lesson once again. hopefully they win as they play at noon and the rest of my day will be shit if they lose.

there are a ton of college football games on today. i plan on watching a few of them between naps and whatever else goes on today. later tonight i'll be watching Saturday Night Live and then ROH. and then getting a few hours of sleep to get up and watch Manchester United tomorrow morning. i'll be blogging after that, hopefully. i believe my fantasy hockey roster will be known by that time.

The Knick was fascinating last night. Clive Owen was brilliant. withdrawal is one cruel fucking time in a life. i can't wait to see what happens next week.

the wrestling ippv on YouTube last night was long and was good in spots. i'll say this, thankfully it was free. i would have been pissed if i paid for it given all the technical problems. of course, that's life in the indies. the match of the night was Candice and Joey vs. Tommy Dreamer and Ivelisse. some comedy, some hot women, part fucking gross, part holy shit, and there was blood. the rest of the show was overbooked for my liking but it was better than doing nothing on a Friday night.

the New York Rangers won in a shootout last night 3-2 over Chicago. albeit the preseason, i was happy that the Rangers came from behind to get the win. after last night, i'm pretty sure Ryan Malone is making this team. plus, here's the video i might be watching for the rest of the day:
the final preseason game is tonight. i doubt i'll watch much of it. hopefully i'll catch the highlights. it's the final chance for the kids to make an impression. there are spots to be won out there, so it should be interesting.

i need to get going. i have cats to feed and soccer in Europe to go watch. hope everyone has a great Saturday. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

there's always time to panic...

i actually did get out and take some pictures yesterday. got a few good ones that i really like. here's a few of them. the rest can be seen in the slideshow on the right hand side of this blog.

i picked the NFL game right last night. my kicker got 4 points, which is much better than what i was fearing was going to happen when it looked like he would get none. i'm trailing in both of my fantasy matches but it could be much worse. Green Bay found their running game last night. that helped me greatly.

mom decided she needed to get out of the house today. so, we decided to go out to lunch to the one sports bars she likes. this would also allow her to test her hearing aid. we started to drive and it started to rain. i haven't driven my mother's SUV in the rain before. so, once i figured out the wipers, i figured all would be well. not so much. we were on the highway, in the construction zone, and all hell broke loose. a thunderstorm out of nowhere was bringing down buckets of rain. i'm trying to get the wipers to move faster and the fucker in front of me decides to slam on his brakes. luckily, i'm not a person who panics. i applied the brakes, slowly, to hopefully not spin out or flip since we were on wet pavement. and just like that, the rain became drizzle. anyone who questions me when i say i'm here for god's amusement is a fool.

lunch went well. i made sure to start drinking so i wouldn't be driving back home. i don't care for the highway, especially when it's always under construction. thankfully, the alcohol helped with my bad back.

tonight will be another clusterfuck for me. the New York Rangers play another preseason game tonight against Chicago. at the same time, there is a wrestling ippv on YouTube that is free tonight that i really want to watch. so, i guess i will be swiveling in the chair from the tv to the computer. good times. and hopefully all that is over in time for me to watch The Knick tonight. i can't wait to see how my back feels after this tonight.

i'm planning on being on here tomorrow morning before Ohio State plays at noon. of course, that all depends on how i'm feeling as it is supposed to get down into the 30's tonight once this cold front moves through. good times.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. remember to only drink and drive if you're good at it and only fuck the ones that cough.

thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

the last pleasant day for god knows how long

the comfortable weather here has one more day and then summer returns with the god awful humidity and fucking heat. hopefully i'll just nap all day long with the windows open. now i know that won't happen, but a guy can dream right? oh, i can't. my bad.

i was disappointed with the World Cup games yesterday. the games weren't that exciting until the last 10 minutes or so. i understand that the stakes are higher and teams are playing a little closer to the vest. but who the fuck waits until there's only a few minutes left to throw caution to the wind? oh that's right, France does. Germany beats France 1-0. Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 in a brutal game. way too many fouls for the number of cards given. i give Brazil credit for beating the shit out of James Rodriguez. big ups to him for taking it and still scoring. but the Brazil win comes at a cost. their best defender will miss the semifinal (yellow card accumulation) and their best player (Neymar) will miss the rest of the World Cup with a broken vertebra. ouch. i don't like their chances of winning it all without him. they next play Germany on July 8th.

today Costa Rica takes on the Netherlands and Argentina plays Belgium. i have the Netherlands and Argentina moving on. hopefully the games today are better than yesterday.

our internet was out for nearly 9 hours yesterday. fucking Frontier Communications. and what i really loved was when we finally got through to them, they had no fucking clue what happened, but it was affecting 100,000 customers. it constantly amazes me how INEPT that fucking company is.

thankfully, i had less than 100 emails to go through when i was able to get back on at 10:30 last night.

the Yankees won again yesterday, 6-5. they scored all their runs in the first two innings and then held on for the win. two in a row, holy shit. they play again this afternoon. hopefully they can actually get a winning streak going. they are in the right city for it.

i was a little stunned with the Cubs and A's trade last night. personally, i think the A's got the 2 best pitchers on the market. i have no fucking clue where the Yankees go for pitching help now.

since i couldn't get online last night, i flipped between the Food Network, some pro wrestling, and the 4th of July concert The Roots do in Philly every year. i think i would have been better off just going to bed.

i did put a little extra rum in my Coke last night, so i slept pretty damn good. of course, most of that was in my chair and not in my bed. i feel like i'm in my fucking 60's. death can't be too far away.

that's the only way i drink any soft drinks by the way, with alcohol.

that's pretty much all for me today. hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

take it easy. and then take it again.

may tonight be the night

i've been doing my best to think positive all day long. as you might imagine, it's nearly fucking impossible for me. but, i'm channeling all my emotions in the right direction at least.

tonight is Game 6 between the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens. the Rangers just need 1 more WIN and they will advance to the Stanley Cup Final. after being embarrassed in Game 5, i'd like to think tonight the "real" Rangers will be on the ice. if they can score first and Hank can start the game on fire, i do believe they will win. i could go without any overtimes or huge comebacks tonight. just win it in 60 minutes please. and if they do, let the party begin.

the Yankees offense showed up last night, which was funny, as they were playing a ton of backups last night. a nice 7-4 win in St. Louis to give them a winning road trip. they are off tonight as they prepare for a home game with the Twins on Friday. hopefully their mastery over that team at home continues.

i did get to see The Normal Heart last night. it certainly didn't feel as long as it was, which i take as a sign of a great movie. the acting in it was magnificent. i highly recommend it.

i heard back from Craig Scott over at Luciferous on my poetry submission from last month. he said he is shutting the site down so he isn't considering my work. so, there's 4 "new" poems to toss back on the pile. i'm planning on doing another submission in early June.

did a little shopping today online. can't turn down a clearance sale on some wrestling shit.

we did get some rain last night. about half an inch or so. that was plenty for the crops. a cold front is supposed to move through and take the humidity away for the weekend. i really hope that happens.

that's all for me today. i'm going to take a quick shower and then get ready for the game tonight. that will have ALL of my focus tonight. i imagine you'll know how the game turns out on my mood tomorrow.

be well. hope this finds everyone in a good mood.

peace.

i was blindsided by the news of the Ultimate Warrior's death. having just seen him over the weekend during WrestleMania and then seeing him the next night on Monday Night Raw, to read on Tuesday night that he was dead was a total fucking shock. and then, you listen back to what he said on Raw and it gets really creepy:

the New York Rangers won last night 4-1. after giving up the first goal, i thought they played a really good game. and it was so nice to see the power play score again. last home game of the season is tomorrow night.

Manchester United lost today 3-1. i was so fucking pumped when they scored the first goal of the game. a beauty of a goal from Evra. but, seeing this is the season from hell, the great job they did on defense in the first half went right out the fucking window when they scored. 70 seconds later, Bayern scores and the floodgates open. you could tell Rooney was not 100% or even close to it as he completely blew 2 chances to score. so, no titles this year at all and no Champions League next season. as i feared when Moyes was selected to replace Sir Alex, we have now become MEDIOCRE. and i hate losing too fucking much to settle for mediocre. hopefully the fucks that run the club feel the same.

the New York Yankees play tonight after that debacle yesterday. it's Tanaka's first home game, so it should be nuts. hopefully he pitches well and the team wins. i need a victory beer after today.

The Voice last night was the start of the playoffs. team Blake performed and he had to cut the team down from 5 to 3. i believe he made the right choices. the 3 he kept are really good. can't wait until next week to see how the other teams do.

after the baseball tonight i'll be watching Legit and Ali G. and hopefully laughing away the pain of today.

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the bank and probably a few hours of porn.

peace...

i almost forgot what winning felt like...

as i watched the Rangers get down 3-1 today at Yankee Stadium, i started to think about the horrible string my teams happen to be on at the moment. and then, the worm turned my friends. the Rangers scored 6 straight goals to whip the fucking Devils 7-3. that victory beer tasted so damn good.

my mother made it up to Columbus without any problems. of course, i wasn't thrilled when she told me she nearly fell down at the hotel because they didn't bother to clean off their parking lot.

thankfully, the winds stopped long enough for the lane to get plowed and for my mother to get out. i flirted with the idea of taking the trash down. but then the winds started back up and that notion quickly left my brain.

i got my laundry done today as i was trying to find something other than worrying about my mother driving to occupy my mind. i imagine i'll put those clothes away here in a little bit.

i do plan on watching The Grammy's tonight, which means, if i have mapped this out correctly on the television, i will be up until 3:30 in the morning catching up on the Sunday night shows. and i need to do the dishes sometime during that time frame as well. good times.

the bottom is going to drop out here again with the temperatures. i believe we will be in the -15 area in the next couple of days. i'm not exactly thrilled to say the least.

i did get some decent sleep last night, but i'm pretty sure that's because of the 1/2 bottle of wine i drank last night.

i am interested in what happens at the Royal Rumble tonight, but i'm not going to pay for it. i will follow it online as i'm watching The Grammy's.

that's all for me. i've got clothes to put away, a quick shower to take, figure out how i'm going to calm down my arm and then a long night of television ahead of me.

hope everyone is well and warm.

later.

swimming in the river of nostalgia

so i survived yesterday much better than i expected. it was kind of funny how people were shocked to see me. most of the people i hadn't seen since graduation, some 19 years ago. i came close to actually having fun. might have even sold a book or two and got this blog a little more exposure. but, it wouldn't be my life if there wasn't something negative to balance all the positive out. as i was leaving the stadium, i started to feel a bit queasy. i decided to head back to the farm instead of going to BW3 with the rest of the gang as i didn't want another one of these situations:
http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/100s/issue117socialanxiety.html

by staying in i did get to see the Yankees actually play a decent game. Nova pitched great AGAIN, the Grandy man shook off some more rust, and the hammer of god got another save. a nice 3-0 win. hopefully they can win today and get the series. Hughes is on the mound, so i hope the offense feels like scoring today.

ROH last night was really good. just love to see an organization give a spotlight to good tag team wrestling. as a child that grew up on The Rock n Roll Express, Midnight Express, The Road Warriors, The Fabulous Freebirds, and The Rockers, i definitely don't mind seeing great tag teams wrestle. it's sadly a lost art. i enjoyed the episode enough to watch it again today at noon.

i figure i will bounce around some sports this afternoon. a little golf, NASCAR, some baseball, maybe some soccer, all while the house is airing out. always nice when the windows can be open during the dog days of summer.

tonight will be my usual Sunday night viewing of Big Brother, The Newsroom, Ray Donovan, and Total Divas. of course, with shark week starting up, i may flip in some of that as well.

after i mow the grass tomorrow i'm planning on going through some poems and getting a couple submissions out this week.

hope everyone is well. to those of you checking out this blog for the first time, welcome. hope you enjoy. feel free to leave a comment or email me what you think of it. it truly was very nice seeing some people that i have some really fond memories of yesterday.

of course, i got a phone call from my sister this morning bitching about the facebook shit storm i caused with my appearance yesterday. she was getting phone calls at 8 this morning wondering if that was me in some pictures posted. that really made me laugh.

until we meet again...

what to do when karma comes for you

i had a pretty damn good morning. made a good breakfast for myself (eggs, sausage, toast), was able to get through all my email without the internet fucking up, actually wrote a poem that spawned from a conversation with myself in the kitchen, and had an in and out session in the bathroom that didn't leave me in pain.

so as i'm driving into town to get the mail i start having stomach pains. the kind of pain i hadn't felt since my sciatic nerve was fucking with me years ago. on my way back in from town (of course i didn't turn around, i'm a man) i nearly hit 2 deer that were crossing from my wood lot into the soybeans across the road.  as i'm going roughly 30 mph up the lane, the pain is getting worse. i get inside and make it to the toilet. as i'm pulling down my shorts and sitting in the same motion (that does wonders for my bad back), something akin to an explosion takes place. thankfully, most of the shit made the bowl.

so after cleaning up that nightmare, i read the newspaper. then, i go type up the poem i wrote this morning. (i really like this one) just as i'm getting ready to hit the grammar check, the fucking power goes out. after a few expletives, it comes back on after 10 seconds. just long enough that everything in the house needs to be reset. fuck me. so i retype the damn poem and get it saved.

i'm very curious who i pissed off in a previous life. i figured nearly dying at 32 was my karma for this life.

Big Brother last night was not the surprise CBS made it out to be. i wish they wouldn't get so fucking creative with their editing. by the way, the other racist white female is the new HOH. i guess we get to play the race angle once again this week.

Wilfred last night was excellent as well. i'm a huge fan of subconscious thought so the episode made me laugh my ass off. especially when i think of how fucking weird some of my thoughts and dreams get at times.

a quick note to TNA, if your big surprise is a washed up MMA fighter at the end of your show, you're not going to be attracting any new fans. and if you are a fan of it, more power to you. but i won't be wasting those 2 hours for that shit again.

the Yankees are out in San Diego this weekend. i'm hoping for some wins as Granderson makes another return from the disabled list. at the very least, win the damn series. i figure i'll be bouncing between that, WWE Smackdown, and whatever music i can find.

i see the CR7 rumors and Manchester United have started up again. i don't believe them but i certainly wouldn't mind if he came back.

thanks to all the kind people that dropped me some lines this week on Google+ and LinkedIn. i really appreciate it. the old ego needs a shot every now and then.

i had a change of plans giving how i felt today and the rain we're supposedly going to get this weekend. i decided i'm going to mow grass on Monday. there's no way i would be able to sit in the sun today the way i'm feeling. i would be better off just putting the shotgun in my mouth and getting it over with. plus, if we do get all this rain, i'd rather have the grass high. it tends to help the soil collect and drain properly when it's high.

that's all for today. i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully i'll write some more and get another batch ready for submissions later this month.

misery with no company

so i was sitting there this morning. having just gone through all my emails without the internet crapping out (more on that later). having been up for over 3 hours as i watched Manchester United this morning in Japan (more on that later as well). just getting ready to enjoy a little breakfast and watch the Dan Patrick Show when my stomach starts to grumble. and not in the i'm hungry kind of way. more in the i'm getting ready to shit my pants kind of way. luckily, i made it to the toilet. if i had to describe the event, think of the toilet scene in Trainspotting. and now you know just how my day has gone.

Manchester United got lucky to get a 2-2 draw in Japan this morning. take away a gigantic brain cramp from Smalling and maybe the performance would have looked better. i was really happy to see Zaha score in added time. the kid has worked so hard and it is really obvious he's ready to play with the big boys right from the start.

while doing some internet surveys this afternoon (one of the trillion ways i try to make some money) the internet decided to just shut the fuck down. just fucking lovely. thankfully, it was a survey i could get back to without losing everything. this would be where i take a shit all over Frontier Communications but i'm not going to. this is simply the luck of the draw in a community that treats us people in the township like the pieces of shit they all believe we are.

Big Brother went as i expected with the vote and the new HOH is the one most of America hates, which could make the show interesting this week. hopefully the MVP twist works out again with production's favorite cunt back on the block.

Wilfred was one of those special episodes where it helps if you have smoked pot before or spend way too much time thinking about thought. conscious and subconscious. luckily, i am one of those people so i loved it.

i guess the New York Yankees have completed the trade for Alfonso Soriano. it'll be interesting if he's in the lineup this evening. god knows with how fucking bad their hitters from the right side have been this season, he can't be any worse. i'll be watching that for most of the evening.

i might sneak in a few views of wrestling tonight. other than that, i figure the rest of the evening will be spent hoping the Imodium continues to work.

somehow i figure this is all karma regarding my father in some regard. thankfully, as a writer, i know how to use the pain for the page, so in the long run, i have the final laugh. at least that's the plan.

on the bright side, i did get the movie i won from one of my surveys in the mail today. a copy of The Dark Knight Rises. i figure if i truly get bored this evening, i'll watch that yet again. maybe watch the whole trilogy. somehow i figure all of this ends up with me at 2 in the morning with a pen in my hand.

hope everyone has a better weekend than i will.

a cold Friday

nothing like a cold front moving through, dropping the damn temps by 40 degrees, to leave my back as stiff as a corpse. just fucking fun. we didn't get nearly as much rain as i thought we would, and what we did get, the wind dried it out pretty damn quickly.

the Yankees were rained out again last night, so i pretty much jumped from channel to channel. a little college hockey, some TNA wrestling, some true crime stuff, the cooking channel, various music channels, etc. more or less it's really just the challenge to see if i can go the whole evening and not watch one commercial all the way through. a much easier game to play when you have a satellite i suppose.

i have no clue if the Yankees will play tonight or not. if they do, i'll be watching. if they are rained out for the third day in a row... i'll be jumping from channel to channel again i guess.

mom took me to a late lunch today at Little York Tavern. i haven't been to this place in years. we went there in all actuality to try the Dan Patrick Show beer, Audible Ale. i've been meaning to try this for quite some time, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. a very smooth, tasty, easy to drink beer. i highly recommend it. hopefully a store around here will start selling it soon.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is Hosho McCreesh. he does much more than just write poetry, i urge all of you to check out his website:

hopefully spring makes a comeback this weekend. or, at the very least, this cold ass wind goes away.

hope everyone has a great weekend. peace and chicken grease.

sometimes the old men are more than just old

when i noticed the Yankees had a lead last night, their first of the season, i quickly started watching more and more of the game. i found myself laughing at how easy the old man Pettitte makes it look sometimes. helps when you can get a double play ball on command it seems. and then, turn the game over to the hammer of god Rivera. sure, he gave up a run, but the man is 43. Yankees win 4-2. thank god.

flipped through some hockey games and even a little TNA wrestling, which i hardly ever watch. why i was up till 3 in the morning with such little of interest to me on is beyond me.

i'm not sure if the bird feeder problem is a raccoon after all. i get the feeling it may be a deer. i guess i will be pulling one of my up all night routines to make sure. i guess it really is spring now out here at the zoo, i mean farm.

absolutely hard to believe it's been 19 years since Kurt Cobain died. i can still remember sitting in the parking lot of the Trotwood, Ohio library when i heard the news. just a few weeks before my high school graduation. i can still recall that moment like it was yesterday. nothing like these moments of nostalgia to really make me feel old. and it also brings to mind that another high school reunion is coming up. of course, i rarely get invited to any of this shit, much like high school when i come to think of it. good times.

the poet of the day on my Google+ page is my good friend Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal.

the Yankees play here in a couple of hours. Detroit's home opener. get to relive all the playoff losses of the last few years. great. the Rangers play tonight in Pittsburgh. i'm sure the Penguins will be looking for a little revenge after that ass-whipping they get in New York. other than that and watching various wrestling interviews for Wrestlemania week, i can see myself enjoying the outdoors a bit today. it seems like forever since i have seen the sun for 4 straight days.

hope everyone has a great weekend. a big sports weekend, between the Final 4, Wrestlemania, the hockey season getting to the point of every game is a playoff game and finish it all off with a tasty Manchester United vs. Manchester City clash on Monday. hopefully, a few victory beers will be had along the way.

slowly melting away

me or the weather?

the weather for now. felt good enough today to actually venture out in public. a rare occurrence it seems anymore. a trip to the post office and a trip to the bank. had to get the birthday money in before i would be tempted to spend it on needless shit.

i sent out 8 poems today, 3 to The Camel Saloon and 5 to ThornBlog.net. when i hear back from these places i'll be sure to post the responses. hopefully a few will get accepted.

after looking through all the old poems i realized i need to do some more writing. so, i imagine sometime late Wednesday in either furious anger or holy shit drunken merriment, there will be some writing going on. for the curious souls out there, Wednesday night the Dayton Flyers play their biggest rival on the road in a city they haven't beaten them in since Carter was president. one of those streaks i'd like to see end sometime in my lifetime but i'm not certain it will. hence, anger or holy shit...

looking forward to seeing how Monday Night Raw plays out tonight. i totally disagree with taking the title off of CM Punk but i've been watching long enough to keep an open mind to see what happens next. if it leads to The Rock and John Cena facing each other again, at least i will have a spot in the next WrestleMania to take a piss.

hope everyone is good. toying with ideas for more videos. if my practice runs go well, you'll know when new shit is posted. if not, my non-technical ass is trying to figure some shit out while maintaining my manly stubbornness by not asking for help.

Wednesday musings

this blog post is brought to you by episode #37 of The Sam Roberts Show Online. i really enjoyed this episode. brought back some horrific memories of growing up and really not knowing what to do in social situations. you can find the episode on iTunes, Stitcher, and by going to http://notsam.com/podcast.html. be sure to do ALL your Christmas shopping through the amazon.com link on the podcast page. that all goes a long way in helping Sam reach his goals.

i will be following Manchester United online today in Champions League play as i don't pay the extra $15 a month to have Fox Soccer Plus. i don't really care if they win or lose this game, i simply want them to come out of it fully healthy. the match with Manchester City is coming up on Sunday and that will more or less decide my week.

tonight i will be watching the Dayton Flyers play Alabama in college basketball and most likely have their asses handed to them as revenge for last year's upset victory. i would love to be surprised and see a team play together and score and defend the way i believe they can, but i'm not going to be holding my fucking breath.

i was actually shocked at who made the top 4 of The Voice. i didn't see Amanda getting eliminated. no more team Adam. which makes me laugh as his music has never done anything for me. and in case you are wondering, i am team Blake but totally think Trevin will win.

sorry to hear about CM Punk's knee surgery. hopefully he will be back soon as he is one of the few reasons to watch the WWE at the moment. does set up an interesting moment for the company to really push the newcomers and perhaps realize Ryback needs a bit more seasoning before you let him run with the ball.

another day, another set of rumors on the Yankees. and more frustration on my end. the only hope i have is when these next 2 years are over and they decide they can start spending money again, all these young players who are great won't be able to resist millions and millions of dollars. fingers are crossed.

lastly, i'm dying with no hockey. and i won't believe any of the good reports until they are voting on a deal and players start coming back from Europe. college hockey and the Canadian juniors just aren't getting it done for me.

not exactly what i was hoping for

the day started off well enough. decent morning shit. good breakfast. cats and birds weren't pains in the asses when i fed them. paid a couple of bills. got the paper and the mail. the repairman for our ac/heat/do everything new age unit had no problems switching out the new parts. had a great jerk off session (thank you as always Jada Fire). and then it was time to watch Manchester United.

maybe the most unimaginative i've ever seen them play. shitty crosses, no urgency at all. bring RvP on but never get him the damn ball. and if they don't fix their D anytime soon, this season will become one where i will be throwing remotes through televisions. fuck me. and the calmer asshole inside me says it's just one game, it's a long season. and the true asshole inside of me responds it will be long if they keep that shit up.

needless to say between the Yankees and WWE RAW tonight, i'll be hoping for chaos, tomfoolery, and plenty of fucking runs. Sweaty Freddy is on the mound in Chicago. i smell a beer league softball game.

at least CM Punk is still champ...

a word on Tony Scott...
i can't blame you. if i had an inoperable tumor, that bridge would be mighty fucking tempting.

enjoying sports drama 101

if anyone happened to watch the USA vs. Canada in women's soccer earlier today you now understand why Manchester United's stadium is called The Theater of Dreams. what an amazing match. and seeing a late goal at the Stretford end of the stadium brings back some warm memories for sure. not long until Alex Morgan is the best female player in the world.

actually got some poetry work done today. opened up the files and picked out 8 poems that i will send out later this week. i would do it tomorrow but that day appears to be fully devoted to mowing the grass/weeds for the first time in over a month. fun fun fun.

also sent back my rough copy of Sofisticated White Trash so it won't be long now until that monster is on the streets. absolutely the best collection of my poems you will find anywhere. and each of my personal "holy shit i wrote that" poems are included. i will provide further details as they become available.

a little baseball, pro wrestling, maybe some Olympics and who knows what else is on tap for tonight. i will hopefully be resting my voice as i watch the USA men's basketball team play. ask anyone that knows me, when Alex Morgan scored that goal, the roar could probably be heard down the street. that's saying something when you live in the sticks.

the aftermath and then some random bullshit

so after a night of shit sleep if you can call it sleep at all (more like what if Cally wouldn't of hit the post, what if Fatso wouldn't have stopped Richards, what if we had a power play that could score, etc, etc.) and then some bizarre dream of me in high school but being cool and confident, there really was only one thing to listen to this morning.

John Lee Hooker - The Best of Friends
Son House - The Original Delta Blues

the playoff beard is now some funky goatee. my hair is back to permanent bed head. somehow the sun did come up. and man, it's fucking hot. if anyone has any rain to send my way, please do so. crops were planted 2 weeks ago or more and it hasn't rained a drop. if this keeps up... well, you can imagine the bitching and whining coming.

is it a coincidence that i took all my Yankees out of my fantasy baseball lineups and they now have won 4 games in a row. i think not. they won't be coming back on my teams anytime soon.

congrats to the University of Dayton baseball team on their first A10 championship and their first trip to the NCAA tournament.

nice win by team USA tonight over Scotland. didn't know the team had 5 goals in them. very nice.

looking forward to watching Kevin Steen and Davey Richards tonight on ROH. oh yes, i've been a fan of pro wrestling for over 30 years. so don't be shocked when i write about it. i've earned the sophisticated white trash label, it's not a gimmick for me.

so, i guess, all in all, while the loss still burns me and makes me feel numb and wish to die, it's not the end of the world. there's always next year, as i've said each year since 1994. one day, hopefully.
